Zen Monterey

Rate this book
Think of this as a pocket-sized guidebook for the path to enlightenment. An excellent primer on the guiding tenets of the Zen philosophy, this little volume introduces the reader to the powers of meditation and self-contemplation.

When the description says pocket-sized, it isn’t exaggerating: this book is a petite brick of a thing. Nevertheless, it made for an interesting read. For what it is — books like this always strike me for their novelty factor and any literary chops seem purely incidental — I found it informative enough to page on through. Easy to be Zen about a read like this.

I bought this book about 15 years ago and I still read it every now and then. A perfect introduction to Zen. I love it!
