4.5 stars rounded up. I’m so sad to see this cozy ghost hunting series come to an end 😭 I somehow didn’t realize this was the final book until I finished it, and honestly I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Melody and the gang.

This series has been such a fun mix of cozy mystery, ghostly chaos, humor, with some tension and romance thrown in. It was exactly what I needed after a streak of pretty lackluster reads. Even if it did mean reading a Christmas book in May 🤣 I really enjoyed the mystery in this one and loved getting to spend more time with all of these kooky characters. Watching Melody juggle all the ghostly drama and her relationship struggles with Fletcher kept me hooked the whole time. I still wanted to shake Fletcher a little though because HOW are we this far in and you still don’t fully believe her?!

I thought this wrapped the series up really well overall, even though there were definitely a few things and character moments I would’ve loved to see explored more. Honestly, I would’ve happily kept reading more books in this world. I’ve gotten so attached to these characters and all their hijinks over the course of the series.

If you’re looking for a cozy paranormal mystery series with humor, heart, ghosts, and a bit of romance, definitely check these out! They’re perfect seasonal reads too!

Josie Silver does it once again! First of all, I have thoroughly enjoyed this series from her, which is quite different from some of my other favorite reads by her, but it's a delight! Each book from this series has been so beautifully balanced with mystery, found family, and, of course, a little romance! In the book, we follow the most adorable mix matched found family as they try and solve a new mystery with help from the dearly departed! This time around, we watched the crew help save the beloved Libertines department store, and it was so much fun, especially to feel transported to an English department store at Christmas time! I laughed, I cried, I swooned, the book was so unbelievably adorable as always, the banter and wit was chefs kiss, and was the perfect blend of Christmas and spooky vibes! There was so much growth and character development through this book, with every character that warmed my heart, the pacing was impeccible and truly felt like the perfect ending to this series! Thank you again, Dell Romance and Net Galley, for an ARC, truly a dream come true!

Is this the end of the series?

I need someone to tell me because the last 12% or so of this book felt like the end of a series and I don't think I'm ready to say goodbye to the Girls Ghostbusting Agency or Chapelwick or anybody yet and I actually shed a couple tears reading that epilogue.

This definitely isn't my favorite of the series (trilogy?), but it definitely improved as we got further along into the book. I was looking forward to reading a Christmas read (so what if it's May) and that really wasn't delivered to me until more than halfway book. But we eventually got there, so it worked out fine.

I enjoyed this installment's mystery, though I do wish we'd gotten just the teensiest bigger bow on the ending and what happened with the Libertine family. This book is much more about family relationships, I'd say, than that central mystery. The Libertine's are the central focus, yes, but Melody and her mom have frequent conflict and then there's some stuff going on with Fletch's family as well, all of which I enjoyed. Reading the Libertine ghosts pass over unexpectedly got me to cry as well.

Fletch, though, I'm still not the biggest fan of. Something about it just rubs me the wrong way and that was compounded for me in this book. I just don't like how he treats Melody a lot of the time. He redeemed himself a tiny bit towards the end, but I just don't care for him as a love interest or a character. I'd still prefer to see Melody with that ghost from the first book. To show how much I don't like Fletch and Melody together: Marina gets a love interest in this book and I was immediately invested in and rooting for that relationship more, even though it happens in the background and we don't even know it's happening until the 70% mark.

But I came here for a cozy romp with some of characters I've come to love and that's what I got, with added Christmas cheer. If this is the last book (I hope not!), I'm happy where everyone's ended up. I'm happy to wave them all off into the sunset.

Josie Silver is known for writing contemporary love stories with a comedic twist. She is a master storyteller and one of my go-to authors. Josie’s newest novel will resonate with fans of
Sarah Addison Allen, Jenny Bayliss, and Sarah Morgan.

Merry Spooky Love is a spirited Christmas story that will have you staying up all hours of the night to read just one more chapter. I was skeptical of how an author could possibly combine the magic of Christmas with ghosts (which I deem to be strictly in the Halloween lane) but Josie masterfully blends Christmas coziness with lively ghosts and a spunky cast of characters. Her trademark wit and humor are prevalent throughout the novel and you will find yourself laughing out loud.

I am a big fan of Josie Silver but have not read Crazy Spooky Love or Kooky Spooky Love for two reasons. Firstly, I prefer Christmas to Halloween and secondly, I am easily scared. I wasn’t sure where these books fell on the spectrum of losing sleep due to nightmares. I am happy to say you do not have to have read either of these books to understand the characters or plot of Merry Spooky Love. Josie does a great job of giving small recaps throughout the first few chapters so you will feel as if you’ve already spent time with Melody and her company. I am also happy to let you know this story isn’t the slightest bit scary. The ghosts are loveable rather than spiteful, and you will find yourself enveloped with their characters.

Readers will appreciate this novel for its lively cast, cozy Christmas setting, effortless humor, relatability of characters along with their individual arcs, and of course the journey of Melody and Fletcher’s relationship.

I was so happy to receive this ARC as the final installment of this fun Girls Ghostbusting series, but I have to say everyone who reads it around it's publication date in the Fall/Holiday season will greatly benefit from both the spooky and holiday themes in the book!

While previous books in the series were more cozy mystery, this one came off much more cozy romance. The ghosts and mystery piece in this story seemed to take a back seat in this volume, which felt right for the conclusion of the series.

The character growth in this book was excellent. All of the main characters Melody, Marina, Artie, Fletcher and even Leo and Melody's mom (Silvana) were really heart warming to read. This crew is the true definition of found family.

I love Melody's character arc and unwillingness to bend on who she is at her core for Fletcher, her undeniable sense of self and needing to be loved for all of her made her so genuinely lovable. I may have wanted to shake Fletcher some times in the story, but he made up for it in the end.
I also really enjoyed the growth in the relationship between Melody and Silvana. It showed that familial love is not always easy and sometimes requires hard work and confrontation along with unconditional love. Silvana's ability to finally show some flexibility in order to accept what makes Melody happy was beautiful mother daughter relationship stuff.

A fun, cozy and heartwarming read all around.
Would highly recommend as a cozy fall and Holiday lighthearted read.

This was a super sweet paranormal romance set at Christmas time. This was the third one in the series but I had not read the first two and I had no problem following along with what was happening. After reading this one I am now interested in reading the first two as this was such a fun series.

Melody runs a ghostbusting agency because she can see and talk to ghosts. In this installment she is determined to help Lucy, a recently deceased ghost, and Fleur, Lucy's niece, save their family's department store Libertines. Fleur's two brothers inherited it as well and are determined to sell it. To complicate matters, the brothers have hired Melody's ex, who can also see ghosts, to help them sell the store. On top of everything, Melody is very attracted to Fletcher but her family does not approve and Fletcher refuses to accept her lifestyle. A series of different incidents happen that has Melody searching for ways to save the store without anyone getting hurt.

There was a lot to love about this story. The romance had some spice to it but it was not over the top. There was a little bit of mystery and lots of action as well as great characters. A great cozy story set at Christmas time with a ghost twist you won't want to miss.

This was such a fun return to this cozy, paranormal rom com world. I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, and this one was definitely filled with the same charming mix of romance, humor, and ghostly chaos that I really love.

The ghost hunting element continues to be one of my favorite parts because it’s such a cool, playful concept, especially wrapped up in a festive, holiday setting. The storyline centered around saving the beloved Libertines department store added a nice emotional depth to it, and I loved the sense of community and history tied into it. Even though this book was filled with spooky antics, I appreciated this more warm and feeling aspect.

I do think there were definitely moments where it felt like a lot was going on at once. Between the ghosts, the romance, the family drama, and the ticking clock, things could get a little hard to follow at times. But it didn’t take away too much from the experience and it still felt like a light, enjoyable read.

This is exactly the kind of book I’d reach for during the holiday season when I want something cute, a little magical, and full of escapism. I highly recommend this and the other books in the series!

Melody Bittersweet is back again with another ghost filled mystery to solve. This time, Lucy Libertine, owner of the department store where families memories have long been made for generations has died. The store is left to Fleur and her twin brothers, Francis and Tom. The twins want to sell but Fleur wants to keep the store going. Unless Fleur can come up with the money to buy out her brothers, the store will be sold. Lucy is working with Melody and her team to find a way to keep the store going. Everyone in the community is taking sides including Melody's ex boyfriend, Leo Dark who is working with the twins and Melody and her team working with Fleur. Add in Fletcher Gunn, the local reporter who causes Melody to lose her ability to say no when he is around but who also frustrates her to no end. Tensions with solving the store's dilemma are just the tip of the iceberg, romance tensions and sparks are flying everywhere as well.

This is a cozy fast read read, more romance than mystery but it's all good fun and reading with fun characters such as Melody's grandmother, her bumbling but sweet assistant and her dog as well. Very enjoyable, the Christmas theme adds to the atmosphere, grab a cup and settle in for an enjoyable read. Thanks to Net Galley and Ballatine.

This book was not for me unfortunately. I really like the ghostly elements of the plot and the 50s retro era Macy’s background we get with the department store setting! Honestly, I was really enjoying it until I got to the sex scenes which were not written well and felt very rushed and then we started getting some very immature dialogue and I was just turned off from it. It’s very much giving Colleen Hoover and Abby Jimenez and that is not my vibe.

Here’s a quote from the book:

“I’m going to get a tiny rhino tattoo” I mumble, and laughter rumbles low in his chest.
“Where?”
“You can pick” I say. “It represents you.”
“Because I’m hung like a rhino?”
I huff softly
“Because you’ve released a herd of teeny tiny rhinos in my bloodstream…”

I will not and cannot read anymore books with full grown adults that speak and act immaturely, this scene is not even satire the characters are being genuine after a sex scene, that was not written well in my opinion. If the author is looking for some constructive criticism, I would probably have enjoyed this book more without the smut in this one.

Merry Spooky Love fully leans into its delightfully silly premise, and at this point in the series, that’s part of the charm. This is my third time reading about Melody and her ghost-talking escapades, thanks again to NetGalley, and I’ve grown attached to these characters. The setting this time around, a grand, slightly magical department store at Christmas, gave major Harrod’s energy and was such a standout. The descriptions brought everything to life in a way that felt festive and immersive without being over the top.

What really made this one satisfying was seeing some long-building threads finally come together. A romance that’s been simmering since book one gets its moment, and the family dynamics that have felt tense and complicated start to settle into something warmer and more hopeful. It all lands in a way that feels earned. If you’re already invested in this series, this is a cozy, heartfelt continuation that delivers on the emotional payoff, with just the right mix of romance, ghosts, and holiday atmosphere.

This is very cute. It has early Charlaine Harris vibes. If you enjoy her early series, this trio of books might be what you are looking for. They are a mix of cozy mystery, fantasy, and romance.

Melody can see ghosts. She helps to solve their mysteries and problems so that they can move on to whatever comes after being ghosts. There is a reporter that Melody and her family have a feud with. He doesn't believe in ghosts, or anything intangible, so he believes they are all charlatans. There is an awful ex-boyfriend who tries to insert himself into every case and solve it first, while also acting like a pompous ass and filming a local tv show. Melody and her friends drive around town in what I imagine in my head is the equivalent of the Scooby-do Mystery Machine. While there is a dog, it definitely does not talk.

It's pretty camp. But the characters are loveable and the stories are fun. The pace is fast. I read all 3 of these, and they kept me engaged. I think it's really the characters. Definitely recommend if you like this genre.

I am so glad I read Merry Spooky Love! The combination of clairvoyance/mediumship and Christmas was quite intriguing. I enjoyed the different relationship dynamics! Melody had a unique relationship each person in the story. As our own character traits vary depending on who we spend time with, and seeing these vulnerabilities on paper was excellent. Not only do we see Melody's relationships, but those of the people around her and how they all interact with each other. The longer I ruminate on it, the more I realize, not every romance novel has touched so much of side characters. By the end of the book I felt as though I was saying goodbye to new friends. The character connections were reflective of real life: fun, raw, and messy. Most readers will find a bit (or more) of themselves among the storyline. The mystery of it all was enticing. There was much sentimental value throughout the story which was a nice touch of merry mixed with spooky. I highly recommend giving MSL a read this coming holiday season!

This was the absolute perfect ending to this trilogy, even though I'm still so sad that it's over. I genuinely would continue to read this group solving mysteries for 30 more books (Dell and Josie Silver, I'm begging you).

The dynamic between Melody, Marina, and Archie is SO good and wholesome - it genuinely made the way they go about solving these mysteries so fun to read. Melody's family dynamic also played such a heavy role in this story. It's so clear that she is who she is because of them, but the character growth she has in this because of the slight tension between her and her mom just made her feel so realistic. And Melody and Fletch??? Especially in this book the yearning and the back and forth and the tension!!!! I'm absolutely obsessed with them and the way they continue to find each other.

Everyone pick all these books up immediately, I don't care that they are technically out of season. They are wonderful and perfect and amazing.

Melody Bittersweet, ghostbuster extraordinaire, is back and trying to save Libertines department store after owner Lucy's Libertine passes away. Lucy hasn't quite made it to the light yet. Instead, she is haunting Libertines, or more accurately, haunting her heirs, who want to sell her store. One of the heirs, Fleur wants to keep the family business alive and running teams up with Melody. This book leans on the rom-com energy and has a nostalgic holiday feel. The small town charm adds to the coziness. There is a romance as well, Melody and Fletcher, whose relationship is the books emotional center. This book also focuses on themes; family legacy and memories. This book will make you smile and I think most people will greatly enjoy it!!

Josie Silver gets me every time, the coziness of the stories, the characters that feel like my best friends and just such a beautiful balance of romance & lightheartedness.
This series will always bring you a comfy,cozy mystery, some paranormal shenanigans, humor and a soft romance romance that will leave you feeling warm & fuzzy. Merry Spooky Love brought all of that again and then some. It was exactly the cozy read I needed to relax into, I especially will never say no to a Christmas book any time of the year.
I loved the suspense in this one, getting get to know the rag tag group of characters even more and feeling like i was a part of the dynamic. I thought this wrapped the series up really well, giving us one last trip with cozy mysteries laced with humor, heart, spooky shenanigans with a little romance, definitely a great ending!

Melody Bittersweet returns for the third in this entertaining series. It is the Christmas season and Lucy Libertine, recently deceased, appeals to Melody to help save the family department store. Her share of the store is to be split between her grandchildren--one of whom wants to save the store, with the other two eager to sell.

As usual, Melody is challenged by her ex and his creepy companions, while alternately avoiding and pursuing Fletcher, who is also trying to save the store. To add a bit more depth and conflict, Melody secretly searcher for Fletcher's unknown father, utilizing the paranormal abilities her refuses to acknowledge the existence of. As usual, there are plenty of desserts, a lot of banter, some good sex, and entertaining ghosts. And Melody isn't the only one fighting an inconvenient attraction.

I love all Josie Silver's books and this series is good fun, even if the over-consumption of sugar makes me nervous. #MerrySpookyLove #NetGalley

Merry Spooky Love is such a funny and cute cozy paranormal romcom mystery! I love all the characters and wish I was part of this friend group. I really enjoy the ghost mystery part too, even if I guessed it early one, the journey was still fun.
I really loved the first book in this trilogy, fell for all the ghosts busting shenanigans and really wanted to see how everything wraps up for our FMC and MMC who have been fighting their differences since the beginning. I definitely had a couple of tears in the end, the epilog was especially cute.
If you love cozy mysteries and paranormal romcoms, I do think you'll have a fun time with this book and this series as a whole. You do not need to read the previous books to enjoy this last installment, but I do recommend them for the laughs and good times.

Well, this book is #3 in a series and unfortunately, I have not read the first two books, so my impressions may be a little off.
The story in this book is an unusual genre-bending mix of cozy mystery, paranormal, and romance. While the romance isn’t a main storyline, it is a little spicier than I would have guessed it would be. I found the romance parts to be the best-written sections and the easiest to follow. The rest of the book felt confusing - a lot of names - a lot of people, ghosts, and even a car, all with names. Either the writing is chaotic or the author was trying to portray chaos, but it felt like too choppy at times.
Overall, the story was middle of the road on the enjoyment scale, thus 3 stars.

“Merry Spooky Love” is an enjoyable continuation of the Melody Bittersweet novels. It is seemingly the conclusion, and yes any loose ends have been resolved, but I think the nature of the plot leaves the door open for Melody and the gang to return in the future.

This time, the team is tasked by the late Lucy Libertine to save the local department store that is near and dear to the town’s heart and pulls on the nostalgia heartstrings.

Often, I have been complaining that books dropping lately have been needlessly too long and this one left me fulfilled and captivated and did so in a mere 288 pages.

If you liked the last two, I imagine you will also find the third installment to your liking.

Merry Spooky Love was just as kooky and lovable as the other two Bittersweet books, but has a little something extra to really pack a punch! I felt like all of the relationships evolved throughout this series and I loved it!

Merry Spooky Love adds some Christmas cheer to the rag tag bunch of the Girl's Ghostbusting Agency. I love Melody and how honest she is- especially the way she owns up to her feelings and mistakes. I loved reading how her and Fletch's relationship changes. Fletcher Gunn is a flawed, but swoon worthy MMC. The found family aspect as well as the Bewitched- esque relationship with her grandmother and mother just make this book so special and fun!

I highly recommend this book and hope that you enjoy the Bittersweets as much as I have!

This is the 3rd in the Melody Bittersweet series. Melody and her crew have been tasked with helping save a local department store after the owner passes away. Once again she up against her ex Leo Dark and her on off love interest Fletcher.
This book was lots of fun. Melody, Marina and Artie are such sweet supportive friends, each quirky I their own way. There was a lot going on in this book but it was easy to follow and each storyline played out well.
My only issue was once again Leo’s romantic interest. In the 2nd book it felt like too much too soon, very insta love with no substance. In this book it felt lazy. Not every character needed a love interest for their happy ending. I absolutely do not understand or like these 2 together for so many reasons.

The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it's the last Melody Bittersweet book. :(

I feel like this one is by far the funniest one of the series. I love all the characters especially Melody, Artie and her Gran. I love Melody and Fletch together.

These books are just cozy and funny, and I could have read 1,000 more ghost cases. It also has some serious Scooby Doo vibes. I mean Babs is basically the Mystery Machine. And Artie couldn't be more like Shaggy if he tried! One of my favorite parts is when she helps the ghosts cross over. It is a tender, caring moment. Reminds me a lot of the Ghost Whisperer show which I seemed to cry every episode at.

I did run into some typos, but nothing major. I will be buying the entire series and read them again and again.

I loved this book! I didn’t notice it was a series and now I am going to have to find the other books because I’m intrigued by the characters. I like to read Christmas timed books to get me in the spirit, pun not intended but enjoyed. Honestly, this book is not just for Christmas. When a ghost hunting business, lead by Melody Bittersweet, is employed to help save a business from being sold, another ghost hunter, Leo, is hired by the rest of the sibling owners. The leaders of both groups just happen to be former lovers. And don’t forget the reporter who is involved is Melody’s current love interest. There’s so much fun, humor, friendship, family and love that this book will keep you reading. I couldn’t stop smiling at the end.

I'm going to be honest here, I did not know that this was book 3 of the series before I started it and I have not read the other two. I was very confused in the beginning trying to figure out the relationships between characters, but once I figured it out, it got better.

This was a very cozy read that would be perfect for the holiday season. It also has paranormal aspects to it which make it so much fun to read. I loved the sense of community and family values this book had and it was such a light hearted book to read.

I am definitely going back to read the first two in the series now.

I did not realize this was part of a series, let alone the last book in the series when I started but it was VERY easy to follow without having the back story from the first two books. Josie does a great job at ensuring new readers are still able to connect with the characters and understand the previous history.
This book was a very enjoyable cozy mystery with paranormal elements and a couple of good medium to low "spicy" scenes as well and as someone who thinks spooky season should be all year, I loved the spooky mixed with Christmas vibes and who doesn't love a mean, malfunctioning reindeer animatronic. I did guess the twist fairly early on but I do not think that took away from the plot in the slightest.
Overall I would say 4/5 stars.

My favorite books are Christmas and Halloween themed so this book was a huge hit for me! Even though I had not read the first two books in the series, I did enjoy it a lot.
Ghost drama? Ghost hunting. A store at Christmas time? Mystery to solve? It sounds like Scooby Doo in a book! (although I was missing a talking dog!)

The banter was great and the spice level was good.

I enjoyed seeing the struggles that Melody and Fletch faced and overcame and it kept me going to see what was going to come next!

But Flectcher. Fletch. Boy. COME ON! Show some belief in the woman you love! And his behavor was a little offputting.

This was a great book and it did wrap up a lot of questions throughout the book - I am going to go back and read the first two books to enjoy it even more now because this was a great read!

Excellent "curl up with a cozy cup of something warm" read. I'm so sad this will be the final installment of the Melody Bittersweet series. I've really loved Melody and Marina and Artie's kooky adventures and would love for there to be more (hint hint, more books, please!!). This book focused a little more on the romance and a little less on the paranormal mystery than the previous two, but it was so nice to see the three ghostbusters experiencing big growth moments. I'll miss them!

I have read this entire series and I really enjoyed getting to see these characters develop more in this story. I am slightly afraid that this is the end of the series, but I hope not. It definitely could keep going.I just enjoy these characters so much. I need to have champagne with Gran as we do yoga. There was less slapstick and more emotions in this book than the previous ones but I definitely still laughed out loud a few times. If you love quirky ensembles and a little bit of mystery, you will enjoy this book.

It’s bittersweet that this is the final of the series. I loved Melody and her gang. Lots of loose ends are tied up, especially with the burgeoning relationship between Melody and Fletch (oh they had such a smoking hot chemistry) and the problem of Fletch being a disbeliever. I loved where all the characters ended up (loved Marina's arc). The vibes made up for any shortcomings. I breezed right through this book and as it was just such a fun read and was just the tonic after struggling with another book.
