Fangs with Benefits

'Fun, smart and sparkling - this is a book for everyone who has ever longed for a vampire to stroll into their mundane lives' CHARLOTTE STEIN

Romance isn't dead. But he is...

Molly Mason is not a team player. She does more work than the rest of her team, but when a promotion becomes available, they bring in an outside hire over her. To add insult to injury, she's tasked with training him. This is easier said than done, though, when he has the digital literacy of a toddler and is, infuriatingly, the hottest man she's ever laid eyes on.

Elijah Thorne's reintegration into human society is going swimmingly. He scammed his way into a job, got new clothes, and successfully convinced a myriad of New Yorkers that he is human, not a vampire. The one person he can't win over, though, is his intimidating colleague Molly.

When Molly discovers Elijah's secret, he realizes that being human isn't as easy as he thought. She'll help him act the part if he'll help her get promoted, but when they fall into a colleagues-with-benefits arrangement-no feelings involved-can they keep things professional?

This book is 100% a love letter to my little emo goth self who was (and still is) obsessed with vampires and dreamed about meeting her very own Edward Cullen one day.

Molly is definitely a real one for not only realizing what Eli was, but practically dry humped him into biting her and for that I applaud you sis. I see you girl, and I would have done the exact same thing if presented with the opportunity. This was such a feel good rom com and I loved every second of it. I would read another 3 books about Molly and Eli’s shenanigans. Not only was this book hilarious but the spice was so good. Like that closet scene moment that they had? GURL.

If you love vampire romances and need a lighter/funny read in your life then this is definitely the one for you. This was such a fun and adorable read and I could not stop smiling the whole time reading this one.

This book is about a vampire who gets an office job in the IT department, while not understanding anything about computers. There, he falls in love with his colleague, who reluctantly teaches him digital literacy.

The beginning was interesting and funny, but the middle felt boring to me. I was also surprised by how easily Molly accepted Elijah’s nature. However, I liked the ending—it was unexpected and made me think.

Over this month, I read two books by this author, and I can conclude that she writes cute and light stories, but personally, I lack depth. That’s why I’m not sure if I will read any more of her books.

⤷ ⭑⭑⭑⭑.𝟱

ִֶָ🦇་༘࿐ After spending over a century in isolation, 409-year-old Elijah Thorne secured a position as an IT Manager, much to the dismay of Molly Mason, who felt she deserved the promotion after spending 3 years with the company. Tasked with being his mentor as he acclimated to his new role at the company, Molly couldn't help but question why he didn't know what a VPN was, why he always wore a hat to work, and why he exclusively drank red 'protein' shakes.

Release Date: September 24, 2026 ⟢

I had been in a reading slump for a while and haven't digested books the way I used to, but this book was just the exception! You go into this knowing what to expect, but also get loads of fun with the banter and supernatural tropes thrown in!

❝ I can’t get her to do anything." I shrug. "Either by compulsion or by asking very nicely for that matter. ❞

I really enjoyed how straightforward our characters were and how their relationship developed throughout the book. While some might consider the pacing slow, I loved witnessing their fun office antics and experiencing their workplace environment along with their interactions with coworkers.

Elijah is just a gentle (old) soul, and it was also amusing to see how he adapted to the changes brought about by time and technology. While I ABSOLUTELY LOVED HOW HEADSTRONG MOLLY WAS. Our girl knows what she wants and doesn't overcomplicate things, getting straight to the point! Her love for writing about the oddest yet quirkiest supernatural plots sounded so entertaining, and I wished we had a glimpse of her writing.

Life outside the workplace was also fun to read about because it clearly showed how human connections and recognizing others' humanity deeply affected Elijah. I also loved how we got to discuss the difference between living life and living life to the fullest, with no regrets, because we only have one life to live in.

Gemma also gets a shoutout because I am always a softie for cat companions.

Dylan: pleeeeease do not burn my apartment down.
Dylan: just get takeout like a normal person
Elijah: I’ve located a fire extinguisher just in case.

What an absolutely delightful vampire rom-com! A sweet himbo vampire needs a job in the modern world after a long (LONG) sleep, so he compels a hiring manager to choose him, unfortunately for a tech job (EXTREMely unfortunate as he has never used a computer in his life)....and the prickly woman stuck tearing her hair out as she tries to teach him how to do his job is the one who should have gotten that job in the first place (and she knows it, too).

But he is IMMEDIATELY smitten, he's so sweet that she can't help falling for him in return, they push each other to live bigger and actually go for their biggest dreams, and I really enjoyed every moment of it, especially (without giving any spoilers) the ending, which was perfect.

I came for the vampire story and stayed for Elijah and Molly.

The paranormal premise hooked me, but it was their beautifully developing relationship that completely stole the show. Before I knew it, I was fully invested in every glance, every moment, and every ounce of longing.

Bonus points for an ending that puts a fresh spin on a well-loved vampire trope. Fun, romantic, and unexpectedly charming.

Anyone craving a fresh spin on the “fake it till you make it” trope with fangs

I stumbled a bit with the pacing, but Kath Richards’ writing more than makes up for it. She has a gift for crafting male leads who yearn so beautifully it hurts, and Elijah is the kind of cinnamon roll vampire you can’t help but root for. Delightful, swoony, and just sharp enough to keep me hooked.

4.5!!

i have always loved books where the century old vampire struggles with modern day life (so random, i know) so i immediately requested this book because i knew it would be right up my alley, and im a huge fan!! i’ve read all of kath’s books & i will continue to. she has a unique way of blending humor with real emotional depth. (and helloooo this cover is so cute???)

elijah was so unintentionally funny & i think that’s what i like most about these kind of books, the irony of it all makes it so fun! he LOVED when the fmc molly was mean to him & wanted to be around her 24/7. he was such a sweetheart, i loved him so much. molly was such a good time & i loved her attitude and personality. i’m a HUGE fan of the independent woman trope & seeing them go soft for the mmc 😭 both main chapters deserve the world. secondary characters in this were great!! (can i get a book for dylan PLEASE???) & i thought the ending of this worked out perfect (and it’s unique!)

in conclusion: pick it up on september 24!! you won’t regret it. thank you to the publisher for providing this book for review via netgalley. all opinions are my own <3

🩸📓BOOK REVIEW 📓🩸

I had the opportunity to read an advance copy of Fangs With Benefits by Kath Richards, and it DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT 😭🖤

After seeing Katy’s books all over my page, I knew this was the perfect excuse to finally jump into her entire catalog, and honestly, what a place to start! This book was sooo fun, tender, and full of heart.

And THAT ENDING?!?!! 😭 It had absolutely no business being that heartbreaking, sad, and beautiful all at once. I’m still emotional!!! 🩸😭🏃‍♀️‍➡️

Elijah, my sweet baby sad boy!!! 🥹 He was without a doubt the highlight of the story for me. After reading thousands of romances where the MMC is broody, grumpy, and emotionally unavailable, Elijah was SUCH a refreshing change. His tenderness, his heart, and the way he carries himself made me fall in love with him immediately. I loooved everything about him!

And Molly (Mae) June!!! She is such a cool kid!! She gives me major dorky nerd in high school vibes (the kind of person everybody asks for help with their homework because she actually knows what she’s doing) 😂 Sooo me!!!

Their connection was instantly felt, and I absolutely loved the way Kath developed not only their relationship, but also their friendship. There was something so natural and tender about the way they came together, and I was completely invested in them ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Basically, I’m now going to sit here, keep crying over that ending, and immediately start working my way through Katy Richards’ entire backlist. 😭🖤

Fangs With Benefits was fun, emotional, tender, and such a beautiful surprise. I can’t wait to read more from this author!!!

"You’re like the sun, Molly, and I’ve been in the dark for a very long time."
This was so much fun! Elijah and Molly were just so adorable

I really had a blast with Molly's experience in corporate America. The epitome of doing her job so competently she becomes the colleague everyone goes to. I loved how Elijah starts his new job wholly unaware of how to use a computer but really tries his best to learn from Molly and slowly (very slowly!) gets a bit better

Of course the romance here is so great. Elijah is out of touch with society- he spent about 100 years self-isolating on his estate and has now decided to rejoin the world and has a LOT to learn. He's so gentle and sincere he wins Molly over slowly but surely. They of course are great together as a couple too- his staunch support of her and her dreams is so wonderful.

Author Kath Richards is an author that I have had on my radar for around a year now and I cannot articulate just how excited I have been feeling to dive into my first story by her… and it being a paranormal romcom no less which is exactly what I’ve been in the mood for. Fangs With Benefits promises endless fun, wholesome charm and witty banter in a short space of time with an endearing cast of characters that you will not want to say goodbye to. One of my many favourite aspects to this book is the way that Richards writes and reflects about the human experience in both its vibrancy for life… and the significance in the mundane moments. I recognise that too often we overlook the simple pleasures in life due to them being an everyday occurrence and it felt eye-opening to experience the narrative of a character that has been forced to endure a life without those experiences for a long time. The exploration of life, mortality and love felt well executed for greater emotional impact so it’s safe to say that I’m largely impressed with my experience reading this wonderful story. There are plenty of pop-culture references throughout which often makes me wary, however they all felt very well implemented and relative to the storytelling in the way that they helped me better understand the interests of both main characters. The side characters are a wonderful attribute as they added even more liveliness to the page with their own personalities creating a multitude of dynamics to enjoy and explore. I would have gladly devoured this entire book with ease in one sitting had I not been balancing my reading time around my working hours… and I’ve immediately bumped up the other works by this author even higher on my TBR than they already were.

Molly Mason is a strong-willed, self-assured woman that knows her own value and is unafraid to assert herself in a male dominated workspace. I had the best time getting to understand her character in all of her intricacies right alongside the lovestruck vampire that often related her to light itself. Molly’s personality truly does shine through the page and it feels refreshing to see a woman reaching a significant time period in her life still trying to figure it all out. Her ambition for more and passion for writing was enjoyable to read about in the way that she refuses to undermine her own abilities for the comfort of others. I loved getting to witness Molly continue to challenge her own mind and the way that she instantly adapted to the new version of the world that she never realised existed. Her confidence within herself felt inspiring to read, and overall I had the absolute best time getting to know and understand Molly as a character.

Elijah Thorne has been such a delight to read about with his sunny deposition and almost childlike curiosity surrounding the modern world that he has found himself reintegrating into after a century of isolated living. I loved getting to read about a soft and gentle-natured vampire who remains in control of his urges with a longing for human experiences. The way that he fought to adapt, made mistakes and refused to give up made Elijah all the more endearing to me as a reader. I found myself constantly grinning as a result of his misunderstandings and the way that he takes some terms of phrases quite literal. His immediate obsession with his grumpy coworker was both adorable and hilarious as we can see that he desperately tried to remain respectful at all times. I adored getting insight into Elijah’s long history as a vampire alongside the tragic discussions surrounding loving and losing people as a result of living such a long lifespan. Elijah’s relationship with his family varied and I would have enjoyed getting the opportunity to have seen this explored in more depth, but as a whole I utterly adored him as a character and hope to see him again as a side character in future books.

The relationship development between Molly and Elijah never failed to bring a smile to my face from the moment we are faced with their initial contrasting first impressions. Where Molly views the (abnormally) attractive newcomer with aggravation and disdain as a result of being passed over for the promotion she applied for… Elijah sees an intelligent and lively woman that he instantly becomes obsessed with and immediately needs to know more about. I had the best time getting to see their relationship unravel over time as their one-sided rivalry slowly develops into a solid friendship with shared mutual attraction. They fit together perfectly as complimentary opposites in the way that Molly is the grumpy to Elijah’s sunshine. I adored getting to witness Molly soften more over time under the sweet and tender attentions of the man she is trying (and failing) to not fall in love with. The way that Elijah continues to encourage Molly to reach for her dreams was just as heartwarming as the way that she seems to act as the spark that brings him back to life. Both characters had their own way of encouraging and supporting one another which felt refreshing and emotional to witness in its raw honesty. The trust and vulnerability that is earned between the pair felt palpable through the pages, and overall I absolutely loved getting to watch Molly and Elijah fight for the love and life that they know they deserve.

Fangs With Benefits was such a compelling and emotional story filled with tender dialogue, a fully developed cast of characters and a love story that you’re going to want to sink your teeth into. The slow burn romance and searing spice will leave you fanning your face and kicking your feet in your giddiness. This is the perfect paranormal romcom to pick up during any season, and I desperately hope that this will not be the only book within the world. There are several side characters that I’m crossing my fingers to see receive their own love story… one certain best friend in particular who we see making an accidental life changing decision in the end.

Thank you to Kath and her team for sending me a free e-arc to review!

Fangs with Benefits is a office romance between a decades old vampire named Elijah and his grumpy work "buddy" Molly. Their relationship begins on a very rocky side given that Elijah swoops in and unexpectedly steals a promotion from Molly.

Elijah is definitely takes the role of a "newcomer" in modern society, he's not familiar with creating passwords nor is familiar with modern slang. In his desperation to fit in, he and Molly come to an agreement. She will help him experience "humanity" and they'll have a mutual benefits relationship.

I thought this was a pretty decent novel, I love Kath's work and always will.

Maybe I hyped this up too much in my head because I expected to feel more sparks between Elijah and Molly but I didn't.

Honestly this could just be my personal taste but I really didn't enjoy how badly Elijah was unexperienced in the work space and nothing was done about it. I am well aware that these dynamics in the work space are realistic to how men are favored in the hiring process despite their background but given that he's the main love interest and wasn't criticized at least a tad bit more for how he got the position personally turned me off. I did enjoy Molly's character and her arch, seeing her prioritize her needs and desires was really great to witness and I loved how she grew confident in her work.

There was some cute dynamics between Elijah and Molly, I enjoyed how supportive they were toward each others goals and aspirations.

The ending was really enjoyable, I liked the development in Elijah's character and embracing his new lifestyle. Bisexual's always come out on top!

“I’ve been hungry for four centuries, but she makes me feel starved”

I’m convinced this book was made for me: 30yr old millennial woman who grew up at the height of a vampire resurgence in media and has never quite gotten over it !! Inject it into my veins pls!

This was an absolute delight to read. It was so silly and so fun, and the premise of an office romance balanced the existential angst and yearning of a 400 year old vampire so well!

Elijah Thorne the man that you are !!!! The way he was obsessed with Molly from her very first insult had me kicking my feet giggling. They had great chemistry, and the banter was so funny. I laughed, i cried, I will be rereading and buying a copy.

I also loved the vampire lore in this- I often find that modern vampire romances can be overly sanitized, stripping vampires of everything that makes them monsterous. They are left with nothing more than a weird diet. Like lots of guys are drinking mysterious substances from a travel mug, be it vampire or gym bro, so where is the vampirism? And so I really enjoyed that even though Elijah has had centuries to come to terms with his blood lust and that isn’t his main struggle, he still grapples with his monstrous nature and misses what it means to be human: the sunshine on his face, the taste of an orange, growing old with someone you love. He is so broody and angsty and watching him come out of that shell bit by bit was so fun. Incredible work kath richards!! Every new bit of vampire lore had me nodding my head in agreement. When Elijah says vampirism basically makes people bi, i immediately smiled bc this guy gets it!!

I found that while pop culture references don’t always work in paranormal romances, they absolutely worked here and were so fun! Elijah is trying to reintegrate into society and catch up on everything he missed culturally (pop, and otherwise) and Molly introducing him to her fave baseball playing vampire coven was everything I needed. Richard’s found a way to make every vampire media reference possible and make them feel seamless ! I was laughing out loud.

I also really loved the side characters; Devi, Dylan and even Kenneth, but I found that I missed them in the second half of the book! I wish they got a little more of the story.

Overall this was such a fun read and I will be reading more of kath Richard’s in future! I hope she continues to write more paranormal romances !

4.25 stars

This was SO cute 😂

This book is exactly the kind you pick up when you want something light, funny, a little silly and just genuinely fun to read. I had such a good time with it.

The humor really worked for me, and I loved that the book never seemed to take itself too seriously. The whole vampire rom-com situation was ridiculous in the best possible way, and there were so many moments that had me smiling or actually laughing.

But underneath all the silliness, the romance was genuinely adorable. I loved watching the chemistry develop and seeing these two get closer. It was sweet, entertaining and just the right amount of chaotic.

Is it a book that’s going to emotionally destroy you or completely reinvent vampire romance? No. 😂 But honestly, it doesn’t need to. Sometimes I just want a book that knows exactly what it is and gives me a ridiculously good time, and this one absolutely did.

Cute vampires, workplace chaos, romance and plenty of laughs. I enjoyed this WAY more than I expected to, and I’m so glad I got the chance to read it as an ARC.

oh yeah binged this in one sitting

Ok ok actual review - thanks NetGalley & Kath for the early copy!

Fangs with benefits was TRULY the most fun time. I went into kind of blind with the blurb, I knew it was about a secret vampire at work and I was sold - imagine my pleasant surprise when he turned out to be a bumbling adorable old fashioned himbo (kinda) and not the suave arrogant vampire we normally meet!!! Iconic!

I am Molly; she is me. I related so much to her IT suffering at work, and the never ending ‘quick questions’ without the reward of promotion or credit. Kath did such a good job making us empathise with Molly but not feel too frustrated with her decision making and emotional responses - we get it, we’ve all been there.

Laughed out loud multiple times at Elijah’s IM’ing language, it was giving adorable grandma on the interwebzzzz.

The relationship was definitely slow and definitely wholesome, you feel totally enveloped in their genuine affection for each other and I loved it.

It is HONESTLY twilight meets the hating game and that is an insane compliment. I will be buying a shelf trophy!!

This was SO cute and had me CRACKING UP 😂

Kath is always so good at snark, it's one of my favorite things about her books. And I feel like she tends to flip the common tropes around and it works so beautifully!

Grumpy FMC and the down bad golden retriever/cinnamon roll esque MMC and I eat it up every time...and this book is no different.

I think the story probably didn't hit as hard because IDK I just can't really get into vampires as much as I could anymore (I mean, who can compare to Sparkles the Vamp, aka Edward Cullen 🥹😂) but I still really enjoyed it.

Like I said the banter is top notch (per usual), the chemistry between Molly and Elijah was cracking, and supporting all that was a beautiful love story of two people trying to find their place in the world.

I was also genuinely unsure how the story would end, like obviously it's an HEA since it's a romance but how would they get there? The ending was unexpected but so incredibly perfect that I teared up a little.

Everything Kath writes is amazing, this book included, but if you don't believe me, obviously go buy the book and tell me where I'm wrong 💅🏼

If you're an ex- (or, I guess, current) Twilight lover, then I think this will land for you pretty well -- this story is grounded in that fandom and is very affectionate about it.

I am not, no shade at all, just wasn't my vibe at the time it was hot. And without that context, this romance felt rather slight to me. It's on me that I didn't read the blurb more closely, I was busy being charmed by the cover, but the whole "incompetent man promoted over competent woman" was a much more annoying setting than I'd realised, having seen several shades of similar crap in the workplace, and it needed to do a much bigger redemption arc than what we actually got -- no spoilers, and I generally like the ending as it is -- but it didn't resolve any of that initial annoyance. Also neither MC has a particularly interesting personality outside being interested in the other. Bland characters might be fine if they had a fun plot going on around them, but the romance is the entire stakes of the book.

So if you're looking for a very low stress (apart from the sexism), the relationship is the only stakes (and for goodness sake, VAMPIRES, there should be something there!) then this might work, but I was definitely hoping for more.

Thank you to Forever Publishing and author Kath Richards, for providing me with the eARC of “Fang with Benefits”.

I did snag the audio to do an immersive read and loved it! I am in the thick of a book slump so I needed to get all versions to get through it. I really enjoyed Mara and Max's voices and their tones throughout the whole book.

💭My Thoughts
I can only imagine trying cinnamon rolls for the first time, and if they were homemade ones... oh what a time to be alive. (Pun intended).

I loved how Molly and Eli gave into their connection without too much angst, and at no point did the power dynamic of their work relationship come into play... And why should it, it's not like Eli should actually have the job. I truly don't know how Molly was able to roll with the punches. She has the patience of a saint.

Got a bit teary at the end, that was truly a selfless act his family did for him. And what a way to be alive again. I loved every bit of this cozy fun vampire book. Perfect for fall.

This story is a paranormal slow-burn rom-com.
It was the first time I was reading a vampire story with a playful tone. I am used to them being charming, confident and fearless. So, reading about an awkward Elijah trying to understand our modern world was a bit out of my confort zone.
But his ineptitude with basic IT tools was the root for a lot of comedic dialogues and the workplace banter with Molly was plenty funny.
Molly herself was an interesting character : overworked, and frustrated after being passed over for a promotion.
They worked well as a couple : their reluctant attraction at first and then the relationship building felt natural and was really satisfying.
It was a good lighthearted read.

Fangs with Benefits turned out to be WAY more fun than I expected!
Grumpy human Molly is forced to train Eli, the bubbly vampire who compelled her boss into giving him… her job. Unfortunately for Molly, Eli has the digital literacy of a confused Victorian ghost and also happens to be outrageously attractive.

I had such a good time with this one. It’s sweet, silly, genuinely funny and surprisingly heartfelt. Watching Eli attempt to blend into modern New York society while Molly slowly unravels around him was incredibly entertaining. Extra cute points awarded to Dylan the werewolf and the cat, obviously.

The ending wrapped everything up perfectly but I am absolutely going to need a Luke and Dylan spin-off novella immediately.

Thank you to NetGalley, Little Brown UK and Kath Richards for the ARC.

SO sweet. So silly, funny AND heartfelt. This is my favourite Kath Richards book so far, and she only seems to be getting better with every new release. Loved all the pop culture vampire references because you can 100% tell this was written by a Twilight girly, but like, not in the bad way, y’know? Just all the good vampire and paranormal romance stuff.

If you’ve read My Roommate Is A Vampire by Jenna Levine you’ll be at least slightly familiar with the tale; an ancient vampire completely out of his depth in the new age (due to reasons™). I was a little afraid they might be too similar (which wouldn’t necessarily be bad, because I did enjoy that book a lot) but I can safely say this is a completely fresh take. The mix with the hellhole that is American corporate culture and tech??? Hilarious.
I loved Molly and Elijah, both were so soft yet multi-faceted in such a real, honest way, which is something I’ve come to know Kath for as an author and by far one of my favourite things about her work. I mean, Elijah’s not only a total sweetie (if a bit technically/digitally inept), appreciates food even if he can’t eat it, has a rocking bod, is comfortable with his sexuality AND unabashedly reads Minotaur smut???? Hi, king 👋🏻 He was perfect for Molly (who was already a badass in her own right) and helped her grow and take those precious first steps out of her comfort zone. I just wanted to give them both a big ol’ squeeze!!

Yes, maybe it was a little predictable, but I had fun (and cried a little) regardless. I do wish the romance had been a little less rushed? I was so loving the build-up, the banter between colleagues, how sweet their friendship became even with just a few kisses, not the full benefits. It’s not insta-love by any means but once the spice hit, it felt like they skipped a couple of gears and went straight into fifth, if you get what I mean. I’d have preferred that, over the third act blip BUT I’ll get over it because the happy ending was certainly worth it. Also, the crumbs for future interconnected standalones?? I’m SAT.

Anyway! I’ll definitely be buying a physical copy once this baby hits the shelves in September. To tide you over while you wait to get your hands on it, here’s some of my favourite quotes:

“Molly’s shoulders sag a little before she types more. She’s much faster than Dylan, who I believed to be very quick. Turns out he is proficient at laptop, whereas Molly is professional.”

“I think I’d enjoy pressing my nose right into her hair and taking a long breath. This, of course, would get me removed from the premises which would mean janitorial nights for my foreseeable future.”

“Holy fucking shoulders.
At the sight of Elijah in something other than a collared shirt, I feel like a Victorian man first spotting a woman’s knee.”

Huge thank you to NetGalley, Little Browne UK and Kath Richards for the ARC! I’ll be honest, I fangirled a little when I got the email.

⭐ 4.5

Oh, this book was fun, it was sexy, and it had everything I love about a book about vampires who want to live in the human world.

Our vampire, Elijah, lands a job at the company where Molly works, but he doesn’t exactly get there on good terms (vampire powers), and since he’s over 500 years old, let’s just say he knows absolutely nothing about the modern world. Our main characters get off on the wrong foot—after all, Elijah took Molly’s job, and she’s still holding a grudge about it.

As you read on, the story draws you in, and before you know it, you’ve finished it and are left wanting more from these two. I loved how Molly, upon finding out he’s a vampire, doesn’t make a big deal out of it (it’s 2026, after all)—they become friends with benefits, but at the same time, they help each other out.

The romance was beautiful; I really liked it. Slow? No, I didn’t feel that way, though I’ll admit there were moments when I wanted to shake both of them so they’d finally say everything they needed to.

The setting was amazing—I had a blast reading about Elijah’s struggles as he tried to figure out all the technology of this century. There are beautiful scenes, and the ending, for me, is the highlight of the entire book—it was so coherent and innovative for this type of story and these characters.

I rarely read vampire stories, but when this book fell into my hands, I didn’t hesitate to read it, and I definitely had a great time with it.

📌 I received an e-arc through netgalley, and this is my honest opinion/review of it.

"Molly," I breathe against her lips, as if I can't believe she's real and in my arms. I can't.

"Yes, Elijah?" she says in between kisses.

"I thought you didn't like me very much."

"I don't."

AHHHHH omg I love these two so much. This was so stinking cute and fun. Imagine you just lost your promotion at your IT job to a man (the first offense really) who doesn't even know how to operate a computer, and now you've been tasked to be some sort of mentor buddy to him to help him adjust to his new position. But there's something off about this frustratingly handsome coworker who you've never seen eat and talks like he's from the 1900's...

I had such a great time with this book. I was craving a good vampire romance, and this one absolutely delivered. I loved the dynamic between Elijah and Molly. She's slightly grumpy and does not want to give him the time of day, and Elijah is like a golden retriever feeling so bad he took this job from her. I was cackling at all of Molly's frustrations with Elijah. She has more patience than most and I know I would have been losing my goddamn mind trying to explain a password to a man who supposedly was more qualified and stole my job.

"I'm rude to him sometimes, but I'm also helpful and, on occasion friendly. I kind of thought we had a rapport between us: me annoyed, him annoying. Me smart and helpful, him groveling and grateful."

Also, who doesn't love a good office romance?! I am such a sucker for a good forced proximity, and I was kicking my feet and squealing once their attraction started to build. I had the dumbest grin on my face for the majority of this book, and Elijah is just such a goddamn sweetheart. I love him with my whole heart, and I felt like he was exactly who Molly needed to give her a slight push to following her dreams again.

I don't want to say too much, but I just want to say how refreshing the ending was. It had me in tears which I was not expecting to get so emotional over them, but alas I am forever an emotional gal. I can't wait to read whatever this author decides to write next, and I am curious to see if she will write a book about a certain werewolf for her next book 👀

wasn't expecting the epilogue to make me cry 😭😭😭
