A world in ruin, outrun by technological nightmares. Elijah and his family escape to the woods of North Dakota becoming subsistent, living off the land. But this idyllic dream doesn’t last. Food stocks are poor. The family slowly starving.
When Elijah doesn’t come home from a hunting trip and grandpappies cold dead body sits in the chair. Casey can think of little else by way of a solution. But this was only to be the very start of their horrors. The new world was free…
Entrance to the arena comes with a fee. A fight to the death.
This book is gripping from the very first page. The mix of horrifying gore with sci-fi metal is the mash up I didn’t know i needed in my life! It’s a story that leaves an emotional imprint. Take gladiator, make it sci-fi and add in some guts and gore. If that sounds up your street, jump on this one!

“You two are exactly what I wanted you to be. So yes, I made you into what you are. You’re doing what I designed you to do by entertaining our twisted pleasures. Every thought you have is because I wanted you to have them. Nothing you fell or think is truly yours. You thought your achievements thus far are your desires..No, they’re mine and you belong to me the same as any other toy in this tournament”

WHAT A FUCKING BOOK, so what do you get when AI meets The Hunger Games, a fucking show that’s what you get.

Mind you I haven’t personally read The hunger games BUT, i’ve watched them and the yeah this is that but with a twist…honestly if the quote above doesn’t make you shrink at the thought of what AI could do or become??? But also, how fucking REAL a book like this or the hunger games could be in today’s climate (we’re damn near close if not already stepping over that line).

Anyways, easy to read easy to devour easy to love pick this book up when it releases.

Torture Kill Survive (TKS! TKS! TKS!) is my first Port-Mortem book, and the author was lovely to offer me an ARC. I can say with certainty I'm eager to explore more of Post's work after this little gem.

In TKS, we follow multiple characters, each shaped by their past, and two are drawn into a game of life and death. Casey and Olga. They are pitted against different fighters, with only one outcome in mind. You survive.

Both women embrace their journeys differently, each fighting for different reasons, albeit against their own will.

This book is a glance into an AI-filled future I hope we will never experience, one that's eerie, bleak, and above all, frightening. There's plenty of gore and steam, and that ending is mind-blowing. I never saw it coming.

And perhaps... we should consider demolishing AI before they decide to destroy us while pursuing their sick pleasures. Just an idea...

I’m not sure how to write this review. This is the sequel to Us and the war of good vs evil is still alive. In this one you see more of the depraved evil that takes root in the future. Casey essentially the good one fighting for herself to stay on a good path even though everything is against her to make her evil. Olga embraces her darkness but will that be her victory or downfall? This story is biblical in way of you can really see it for what it is. The question remains is good and light really the right thing we’ve all been raised to believe?

If pinhead also had ai powers and was in charge of the hunger games in hell, that would be this story. A depraved, gory, violent fight for a shred of autonomy. Our characters are fighting for a life they’ve already lost. This book contains so much for your mind to explore and visualize. Posts imagination is spectacular! Bonus points for the bits of added steamy bits 😘
