I'll begin this by saying I gave the first 2 books in this series higher ratings. I did enjoy this 3rd book but so many little things that seemed wrong are unexplainable dimmed my overall score for this one.

Zay was my favorite of the guys. He was her first time and her first love. I felt in this book he was kicked to the side a bit for Xavier, who is clearly the author's MMC, though this is a Why Choose story. I didn't understand her insta-love for Xavier. Before he was in a coma, they barely had any relationship, at least not a close one, and when he woke up she was all over him like they were a happy couple before the shooting. That was weird.

Another strange inconsistency was when she flipped out on Xavier when he went to the club during his recovery to show himself to the club members. She lost it. But it was HER idea for him to go there. She's the one who told everyone he would be there in a week.

Why did she freak out when she remembered killing Marcus, aside from the fact he was X's brother, I mean. Her internal dialogue was "Oh no, I'm a murderer, I killed someone". Again, why? Isn't she an assassin for her brother's cartel and hasn't she killed LOTS of people? Then why the freak out?

Why after Xavier breaks off with her does she live in that horrible apartment? She had a life before they kidnapped her. Why didn’t she return to her former life? Her brother is extremely wealthy and obviously cares about her why would he let her live in poverty? If she was an assassin why doesn't she have money in the bank to get an apartment of her own. Why live there?? What happened to her two best friends from the 1st book?

And this one was really weird - I thought Xavier and Zay were brothers? But in the scene when Zay is trying to get X to stop drinking he says to Asher, "And my cousin—my best friend—is upstairs drinking himself to death". Did the author forget that they're brothers and not cousins?

This story fell flat for me. Valentina wasn't the same woman she was in the first book. And the author clearly favored Xavier over the Zay and Asher and in a Why choose that's not what I'm looking for.

Oh my, oh my, OH MY!! The King has awakened from his three week coma! Xavier has awaken to chaos in his MC, with Valentina ruling in her Kings place, and finding out he has partial paralysis.
This story opens with Valentina having just visited The Vipers to get Talia (Ash’s baby sister) back. Instead finds out she was there willingly. But worse, the memory of Valentina having killed Marcus, Xavier's brother, once buried deep in her psyche surfaced in that moment. Didn’t matter to her mind that the fresh memories were a moment survival from Marcus. Her fresh returned memories was fresh as the day she had to protect herself. The inborn Assassin she was trained to be coming forth.
We have Valentina, our beautiful, damaged heroine. And her three lovers, Zay (Isaiah), Asher and Zavier. Who are also quite damaged in themselves.
This book has so much history with all three ending together in a tumultuous, drama written, memory awoken, heart pounding and soul searching conclusion.
Everyone’s in her. With possible hints for future series😉.
Talia’s unsealed heartbreak over her twins vicious murder drives her into the arms The Viper leaders.
Others you will remember are
Cast, leader of the Cartel and Valentina’s brother?
Willow , Vincent and Damien.
Georgia, Xavier’s sister. Jackie, Killian, The Vipers, The Reapers, The Cartel and more.
So get ready for an amazing finish that will rip your heart out but don’t worry, it will heal. Along with Xavier hint, hint😁.
Theirs is a Complicated, busy, insane, intense, relationship…that works for them.
And now the four of them have trust, love and home..
Home is the four of them together. Fighting, for each other, choosing, and loving each other. Four broken people fitting into a forever happy picture.
Note: a very adult read with subject of an alternate life style. Read any trigger warning on the authors website.
Happy Reading….⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Secrets Never Stay Hidden Forever -
Valentina was meant to be leading the Raiders whilst Xavier was incapacitated, but remembering a past incident sent her into a spiral that no one could get her out of. However, Xavier’s return home gave Valentina a bit of relief, as she had Xavier, Asher and Isaiah to help pause her spiral, but they continuously tried to get her to tell them what was going on.

Unfortunately, Valentina’s fear of reprisal led her to keep her secret from Xavier, Asher and Isaiah, which ended up blowing up in her face when someone else discovered her secret and revealed in it a way that caused a great impact to their relationship. Luckily, once everyone had calmed down, Xavier, Asher and Isaiah were able to rekindle their relationship and get back on track towards the life they were building.

Sophie J. Rivers definitely didn’t disappoint with the final book in ‘The Raider Kings trilogy, which was a gripping and scintillating romance story with a twist, that was filled with betrayal, secrets, passionate and emotional moments, suspense, angst and action-packed encounters. I was glued to the pages from the beginning and unable to take a break until I reached the end. I urge you to grab a copy of this book now, but it is important you read books one and two before reading book three.

I do love these series by Ms.Rivers; they have me gripped from the start. I love the strong FMC, but at the same time, she has her vulnerabilities, ones she only lets certain people see.

In this final book of the series, Val has to confront a memory she buried with trauma. How she acts upon this is what will define the relationship with her three men, Xavier, Zay, and Asher. The longer she doesn't reveal the truth of what happened, the harder it is to say it, until it can no longer be hidden, then the fallout begins. Can the love she has for the three men be enough for them to accept why she didn't reveal it? Or will club, loyalty, and trust become a big issue?

Xavier, Zay, and Asher know that Valentina is theirs, but will Xavier share, or will he become jealous and possessive?

Xavier, while healing from his injuries, has to face the fact that he may not return to full mobility. While he is recovering, factions within the club try to sow dissent and destabilise it. Xavier, Zay, and Asher have to stand together to shut it down before it can gather traction. They are also dealing with the Vipers encroaching on their turf and businesses.

The book is action-packed and steamy from the start. Loyalties, friendships, family, pride, anger, and the club are all tested. Will the four of them be strong enough to deal with all they are facing?.

Sophie Rivers’s reverse harem trilogy concludes with a heartwarming, emotional, and interesting finale. The previous books ended with cliffhangers that keep the readers hooked. Xavier is finally recovering from the coma, but the four main characters must face more challenges before they can find their happily ever after.

🔥 Three Dangerous but Protective Heroes
💋A strong heroine with Secrets
💖 Emotional, Steamy, Angsty

Valentina’s secret will be revealed, and it will have devastating effects on her relationship with Xavier, Asher, and Zay. I don’t give a synopsis of a book in my review, but if you have read the previous two books, this is a must read for closure. If you like your heroine to be a badass and your heroes to be smoking hot and dangerous, then this is the perfect story for you. The suspense continues....when Valentina remembers what she's done, you can feel her struggling with her emotions and how she's going to tell the men she loves what she's done. You can feel the tension between club members as Xavier struggles to recover and it all comes to a head when Valentina's secret is outted by a club member that makes you want to reach in the pages and kick his ass for her, and her worst fears are realized. True love prevails in the end and a truce is found between rivals and a HEA for Valentina.

massive let down

I did not finish this book i tried so hard but by chapter 11 i had enough of the whining and Valentina lying constantly. It’s like the author forgot she was a trained assassin and her crying and fallong apart for being a murderer is just ridiculous. Her pushing everyone away emotionally and just having sex with then so they stop asking her whats up is boring after the 3rd chapter of her doing it. Clearly being adquirimos about death is not what a trained Assasin for the cartel would do. Very dissapointing. Plus mistakes like one chapter talia is 16 and the next chapter she’s 18 and it’s the same day.

Sophie J. Rivers did not disappoint in this last installment of the Raider Kings. Valentina, Xavier, Asher, and Isaiah are back and ready to take care of business. It was an emotional ride, because I could just feel all of the feelings that Valentina was going through. I was so very happy with the HEA. You will not be disappointed.

The Phoenix has risen! A truly wonderful ending to their steamy unconventional love. Val is a complex woman, deadly and completely broken by Xavier. Xavier, Ashe and Isiah are all physically strong but their one weakness is Val. Wonderful story, well written to keep you enthralled from start to finish. A must read.
