Falling in love with a public figure was never part of Rose Bennett's plan, especially not one whose past is tangled in secrets that could destroy them both.
Callum Fraser is a pro hockey star under relentless scrutiny, used to control on the ice and certainty off it. With Rose, everything is different. She sees the man behind the headlines. He sees a future he never expected. But when the truth about a life-altering mistake surfaces, and someone from his past refuses to let it stay buried, trust fractures in ways neither of them are prepared for.
Caught between fame, fallout, and fear, Rose must decide whether choosing herself means walking away or standing her ground. And Callum must learn that love isn’t proven by grand gestures, but by patience, honesty, and the willingness to wait.
A slow-burn hockey romance about accountability, healing, and choosing love without losing yourself.
I live in the North of England with my husband and two of my three children. The eldest having flown the nest.
Dancing In The Rain was my first novel and was published in February 2013. My second book, Taking A Risk, a rock star romance novel tells the story of Alex Carter, lead singer of one of the biggest rock bands around, released in 2013.
Hopefully there will be many more books to follow once I quit messing around on all those social networking sites!
1. They aren’t going to admit someone to the hospital and keep them overnight when all they have is a couple of bruises. 2. The first time Rose met Callum, she could see guilt in “the subtle tension in his shoulders”. Seriously? 🙄🙄🙄 3. There’s no way that Talia would have gone to the press about the accident. She may not have been driving but she was in the car and didn’t report it. That made her just as much at fault both legally and morally. 4. The "true" statement that PR released about the accident was filled with obvious lies. a. “I went to the hospital to ensure they were safe and take responsibility.” He went because he felt guilty and he did NOTHING to take responsibility. b. “That silence was not an attempt to evade responsibility.” Of course it was. c. “I never intended to deceive her.” Another lie. Cal never intended to tell Rose he was responsible for the accident. He only started considering it because Talia threatened to expose him. 5. After the accident, neither Callum or Talia faced any legal repercussions for leaving the scene of an accident.

I have mixed opinions on this one. The Hero is in a relationship with an influencer when he meets the heroine, texting her while lying in bed with his partner, despite the state of that relationship left me with an ick feeling. Yes the texts where professional but he is already developing feelings so.....
Whirlwind romance with the heroine which is based on a lack of truth. I did like that there were no other intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine despite him being in a failing relationship of sorts when they meet. And when they break up, he goes to therapy to sort out his head as he's a mess and the heroine, while offering him a different perspective can't fix him.
Other woman drama, the ex isn't happy about the split, her career is linked to his success. Their relationship has been falling apart for some time but she posts old photos, rehashing them to fit her image as the 'perfect couple'.
Spoiler. They meet as he runs a red light and her car is involved in an accident because of that, he flees then feels guilty so visits her in hospital, but doesn't tell her about his mistake.

A new ice hockey drama filled book by Caroline Easton. Callum is stuck in a rut and living a life he doesn't really want to be in. He has the dream career but his personal life leaves alot to be desired, being in a relationship that he feels is having a negative impact on him, one day he snaps and it comes to an terrible accident to make him see sense! I absolutely wanted to throat punch Talia at many points throughout this book LOL but Rose was his saving grace as soon as he sets his sights on her. Plus everyone needs a friend like Lukas by their side for sure!!!
This is a slow burn hockey romance that I absolutely loved. Callum 'Cal' Fraser is the forward for the Manchester Panthers, a pro hockey team. Rose Bennett is a photography student as well as a hockey fan. One dark, rainy night Rose is involved in a car accident. Now Cal has a secret weighing heavy on his mind that could not only ruin his career but could quite possibly push Rose away forever. Cal's ex is threatening to unravel that secret. Caroline knows how to write amazing hockey romance stories. I highly recommend reading this one.
This book fell a little flat for me I can’t lie. I really enjoy the 1st 3/4 of the book but the last chunk was flat. I didn’t care for everything that happened after the big fall out. Once Rose learned everything it just became blah. And how both POVs were of them both stating how everything was better but without saying it to each other and kept talking about how things didn’t feel forced ect but there was no energy like how they had in the beginning. They never once said I love you to each other clearly. He said it through voicemail when all hell broke loose and she said she didn’t regret loving him. But idk maybe its me but it was just was okay book in my opinion and I feel like it could have been amazing if the ending was done differently
3 ⭐️ and maybe 1 🌶️ so if your not a big fan of spicy books/scenes then this would be a good option
This was the 2nd book by Caroline Easton that I have read. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. I had some time to kill and picked it up. I love betrayal/perceived cheating/cheating books and that is why I read this one. It's a super slow burn and not spicy. It had a witch of an ex girlfriend causing ow drama. The MMC came into the FMC's life under false pretenses and spends a good chunk of the book worried to death the FMC is going to find out. He should have known his spiteful and petty ex was going to rat him out, he was just to chicken to fess up to the FMC. There were a few editing errors in the book that took me out of the flow. One of the errors was when a hockey game was won 5-3 and two pages later, he tells the FMC they won 3-2.
Well written angsty read it covers a multitude of issues in an emotional rollercoaster of ups and downs. Guilt, jealousy and fear I would say are high on the list. Lukas came through as a great friend and showed compassion, but also helped if he could. One person stood out as extremely self centered, greedy and needing the spotlight. No genuine emotions, she just wanted a ticket to stardom. It is a story that shows how keeping a secret can end up being devastating to all. It had me smiling, screaming and pulling my hair out, it kept me engaged throughout and happy with how the author dealt with the aftermath gently and not rushed. Fabulous read.
I loved carolines Raptor series but this book fell flat for me. It seemed very repetitive. Unfortunately I lost interest about half way through but skim read until the end. I felt for both characters and glad they made it in the end just not a 4 or 5 star read for me 😞
I felt no connection with any of the characters. The FMC and MMC didn’t really have chemistry to me. It was pretty dry like reading instructions or a to do list.
