This could have easily been one book.

Stayed steady with the super sweetness. Nice solid omegaverse if you like the angst on the lower end and the MCs all super sweet. Just a feel good one.

Ookkkkayyyy, so lets discuss.
I think this book really had to save how the last book ended, and it didn't. The miscommunication at the end of book one could have been fixed. If I were delusional enough to think that a guy I liked would get me fired, then I would at least speak to his loved ones. Be so fucking real, you would not sit there for three months wanting to die, when you could pick up the phone and talk to his friend that you are also in love with. Camille was not avoidant in book one; she did not let problems slide by. She's also a PR agent; she should know how easy it is not understand the full picture in a few moments. Which made me really dislike her.
Then there's the River problem. The bite at the end of the book was an issue and could be considered dubcon, I'm not disagreeing there. What I disagree with is the way they all handled it. Camille admitted she wanted it and that she understood why River did it. SO WHY IS IT SUCH AN ISSUE? A mountain out of a mole hill for real. There are soooo many other problems that you could have written in. PR nightmare, parental issues, chronic illness, mental illness, kids, etc. And you picked a problem that they both agreed wasn't really a problem?
I felt bad for River. Which made me, again, dislike Camille. Then I also disliked Ambrose and Jackson for just letting it happen. Like, fight for who you love?

3.5⭐️ this is the second part for the feeling the heat duology, and i think it could have all been one book tbh, as the last book ended on a cliffhanger. There seemed to be barely any communication between the characters as so much stuff was happening, and it went from them not talking to fluff to smut so quick i was kinda like wtf is going on. i feel like there was a lot of stuff just missed from this past book to this book, and while im glad it had the HEA i was looking for, it didn’t really scratch the itch i was hoping for with the end of this duology.

Emily had me crying right off the bat with this. Which wasn’t surprising, given that I spent a lot of book one crying. Each of the main characters had their own growth arcs, both as part of the pack, and on their own. Camille had to learn how to embrace her instincts and take risks. Jackson had to learn how to see himself as valuable. River had to work on breaking down his emotional walls and seeing himself as worthy of love and kindness. I loved his therapy journey. Ambrose became a bit more outspoken with his needs and desires. It was a very sweet Omegaverse story.

Review for the duet: Feeling the Heat is definitely a quality omegaverse story and I'm certain lots of people would enjoy this duet. I found the characters to be just a little neurotic for my exact taste. If you want a "realistic" omegaverse book or really like books with negotiating relationship dynamics, this will work for you. Again, I did enjoy this story, but it's a 4 star that I would most likely not reread.

Can I just say omggg!! Im obsessed!!
I kinda wish there was more, but this is the perfect way wrap up the story! 🥰 I devoured this book!
Don't tell any of the boys but River is my favorite 😉 he js broody, sweet, protective Alpha that I want to bring everywhere with me!
Jackson is the sweetest beta you'll ever meet! Him struggling with who he is attracted to makes it so cute!!
Ambrose is Daddy! I would call him Daddy any chance i got lol 😆 he just a squishy sweet alpha!
Camille i feel bad for at the end of part one cause she was so confused what was going on. Her omega was just trying figure things out and guide her the right way. Im so glad the guys kept trying and being there for her!

⭐️5. I loved this series! I love the universe she has created in the omegaverse (I believe she calls it blossomverse). I fell in love with the pack in the first book, and they continued to please in the second. River, Jackson, and Abrose really do make the perfect pack for Camille, and i absolutely love the life they are putting together. I did find the twist predictable, but im not mad about it. it wasnt drawn out, and doesn't include a third act breakup. *chefs kiss*

What a satisfying conclusion.
The mutual healing was done so well. Great to see the character growth.
Even with a lot of emotional and stressful moments it was still sweet, beautiful and hot.
Same as the first book couldn’t put this one down either.

I really enjoyed this duet. I loved all the characters and the conclusion. For this to be the author’s debut to Omegaverse, they really hit it out the park. I can’t wait to read what else she writes in OV.

It seems like whatever the plot line was happened in the background, aka non-existent, but I guess it doesn't matter since she got her happy ending and her three guys.
I disliked that Jackson's bi awakening was thrown in 80% into the final book when there were 700+ pages in total to work it into and not just for the final 20%, which left me wanting more. This book contained more spice scenes than anything else so if you're looking for something meaningful you won't find it here.

The second half was better than I expected, feeling a little bit more balanced between smut and plot (but still smut-heavy).
But Camille was kind of annoying in it. In book one, she was a career focused, independent 40 year old. In this book, she’s a useless mess. And we can’t blame her becoming an Omega, because half her friends are career-minded Omegas who function just fine.
There’s a ton of negative self-talk. She calls herself “old” in a desultory way constantly. She belittles herself and her career. One of the joys of reading books about a mature FMC is that they’re… well… mature. They’re have a strong sense of self. They’re not new to relationships. Camille comes across as a really immature 40 year old.
Her reaction to her stalking plot bugged me a lot. She says multiple times that she thinks she saw Holden or Bryce: in the hallway of her apartment, on the street, etc. But then dismisses it as imagining things. What? Did she see them or not? Does she have a history of hallucinations? Why would anyone think they’re imagining seeing people? They aren’t ghosts or secret agents. Normal people don’t just constantly imagine seeing people they know sneaking around corners and spying on them and think they’re imagining it.
Rushing off to rescue her sister also felt weird. We didn’t have any real build up for Camille feeling like she owed her sister something or any closeness at all. But that’s not half as weird as forgiving her afterward. When your sister sets you up to be raped, no one invites her to your next party.

4 ⭐️ The first omegaverse by Emily Antoinette is...
...actually not bad at all. Especially this second part. We leave the first one with a weird dynamic / falling out of the pack, and I really didn't love that. I still maintain that this could have genuinely been one single book - an extremely LONG book, mind you. But after all, I think this second part may be worth the hassle.
As much as I loooooove Jackson -the incredible, unbelievable, gorgeous, talented man that he is-, his change of pace with the rest of the men in his pack could have come earlier in the book, and been better explored. Also, River getting his head out of his ass was cute, but I feel like his character didn't make as much sense in the story without that martyr complex of his making a real relationship impossible. Once that particular hurdle was done, it was like he feel back into the sidelines, but this time more because he maybe didn't feel comfortable or trust that the pack could florish with him in it - even though he is the only one with a proper bond with every single member of the pack! Idk, but by the end, I still didn't fully like River. Maybe that's a me thing, idk. Ambrose is cute and lovely and very much Daddy, but we see him more in his dynamic with River which I think was good, too.
Now, on to my favourite and my least favourite parts of this book, and they both kind of happen at the same time, or maybe one as a result of the other? My favourite is the fact that the only beta in the pack ends up being the pack lead. I have read SO many Omegaverses, and none have ever made any of the pack betas their pack lead, but I adored it. It made so much sense in this specific pack, the way that they discover it is also pretty cool. But the whole thing happens - as I said- during my least favourite scene of the entire two-part story. It's kind of the big "shock" -that eveyone saw coming- but I was really rooting for all the clear signs to maybe be a missdirect and take us somewhere else. But the second Cami's sister said "I'm sorry" during that phone call, I knew exactly where we were going, and how much I was going to hate it. Newsflash, it was actually worst than I thought!
Since most of these happen around the 90% mark, the rest of the book goes by so fast that there was really barely any time to adjust. The awful scenes are short-lived in comparison to the entirety of the story, but they still feel so disappointing. Along with the fact that Cami flops herself HARD on this one, and cannot get it together to save her life -because you can be an Omega without being a crybaby, depressed mess and I really do believe that!- are the reasons why I can't give this book more than 4 stars. I also didn't like that we saw no male omegas!
Overall, it's a good first attempt, and I do hope the author keeps it going with other proyects like this in the future - because I am both obsessed with Emily Antoinnete as an author, and with omegaverse stories as a whole, so this was kind of a dream come true!

The cliffhanger at the end of part one sent me here immediately and with zero dignity, so let's talk about how part two paid it off.
Camille is jobless, packless, and forty. The fairy tale she finally allowed herself to want has collapsed entirely. Rock bottom has been reached. And then, because Emily Antoinette apparently decided that wasn't enough, a malicious article about her "old omega" status goes viral. The internet finds out a forty year old late-revealing omega exists and has OPINIONS about it. The audacity of people never ceases.
Meanwhile Ambrose, Jackson, and River are sitting in their fractured pack trying very hard to respect Camille's wishes and stay away. They are doing a terrible job of it. When the article drops they collectively decide that staying away is no longer an option and show up to prove they are exactly the pack she needs, external threats and all. The earning-it energy in this book is IMMENSE and I was feral about every second of it.
What Emily Antoinette does in part two that part one was building towards is let the whole pack dynamic fully breathe. Everyone with everyone. The emotional bonds as carefully tended as the spicy ones. Jackson and Ambrose leaning on each other while River and Camille were in their own chaos. River finally, FINALLY, being fully present without the walls up. Camille realising she doesn't have to talk herself out of wanting this. The HEA is completely earned and I felt it in my chest in the specific way comfort reads are supposed to deliver.
Four stars and not five for the same reason as part one, nothing I can put my finger on, just where I personally landed. Which honestly just means this duet has found a permanent home on my comfort reread shelf.

When I was halfway through the first part of the Feeling the Heat duet, I honestly wasn't sure I was going to continue that book, let alone the second part. I was so frustrated with the characters and their communication issues that I wanted to yeet my kindle at the wall (sorry, Precious!). However, I'm really glad I stuck with it through all 800+ pages between both books (400+ each). The conclusion was so sweet and satisfying and I don't know how that would have been possible without the angsty communication issues.
Told from all-pov, Feeling the Heat part two is a cozy MMFM/AAOB poly omegaverse with ALL THE SPICE and an adorable dachshund named Dahlia (Dolly). This book includes the following tropes and themes: scent-match, cozy angst, green-flag characters, DD/lg, dom/sub dynamics, bi-awakening, groveling, and characters 35+. The author provides a full list of content warnings before each book, so make sure you protect your mental health!
If you've read Pack Darling by Lola Rock, this kind of reminds me of that, but the cozy version? This book is not dark. It's objectively very sweet and cozy with a little bit of angst for tension. There's an outside threat, but it's secondary to the relationship and inter/intrapersonal conflicts of the main characters. And I use that term purposefully because all three MMCs and the FMC are main characters, not just the FMC. Emily Antoinette gave each character their own story and satisfying conclusion which truly made the book more of a poly romance than a reverse harem.
Each character had their own conflicts, from learning to be brave and confront external conflict and internal conflict, to learning that letting yourself be vulnerable and trusting others can become your greatest strength. saying anything more would be a spoiler, but I like the Ambrose, Camille, River, and Jackson at the end of part two MUCH more than their past versions in part one.
I mentioned this in my review of part one, but the side characters really make this duet come alive. Dolly is, of course, best girl, but the friends, family, and even professional acquaintances in this book were a big part of the reason this book was so good. A lot of this duet focuses on learning to love and trust both others and oneself, but it also shows how important our community is in lifting one another up. If you're looking for a feel-good read with some cozy-angst, I highly recommend the Feeling the Heat duet.

Emily Antoinette gave each character their own story and satisfying conclusion which truly made the book more of a poly romance than a reverse harem.
Each character had their own conflicts, from learning to be brave and confront external conflict and internal conflict, to learning that letting yourself be vulnerable and trusting others can become your greatest strength. saying anything more would be a spoiler, but I like the Ambrose, Camille, River, and Jackson at the end of part two MUCH more than their past versions in part one.
I mentioned this in my review of part one, but the side characters really make this duet come alive. Dolly is, of course, best girl, but the friends, family, and even professional acquaintances in this book were a big part of the reason this book was so good. A lot of this duet focuses on learning to love and trust both others and oneself, but it also shows how important our community is in lifting one another up. If you're looking for a feel-good read with some cozy-angst, I highly recommend the Feeling the Heat duet.

This one wasn't quite as engaging as the first one, but was a good ending and tied up all the plot points. The Holden/BIL/sister thing was really unsatisfying in it's ending. Skipped the whole trial, etc.
Even the 🔥 didn't seem to have the focus and grit as before, idk why.
At the opening of book 2, F is in her apartment, working her new job at the all omega firm. River moved out, has an apartment, and is seeing a therapist. The other two are still in the pack house, Jackson back to work as a lawyer to better help w bills 2 to River's absence.
She starts having heat spikes, the first at the gala for her new firm. Only River is there, so he helps her.

God, I love a really good omegaverse, and this is one of the best ones I've read. Camille is 40, fat, great at her job, and just revealed as an omega. She didn't ask for this, and she doesn't know how to reconcile the life she's been living with the biological urges she has now. There's a lot of great social commentary in here that has things to say about how we treat each other without being in your face, and it was so nice to relax into this story.
Which isn't to say that there isn't angst! There are very real barriers to this pack's HEA, both internal and external, and it's a fight to get there. I’m seeing a lot of mixed reviews, overall the story is brilliant. I particularly love this Storey and all of Emily’s books because she focuses on her characters. As other people have commented, there’s not a lot of super crazy plot twists, which I really like. I’m reading this romance/smut book for comfort and to see loving relationships. Not for the end of the world catastrophic storytelling. - I love having books like this because it gives us something to look forward to, and maybe how we can bring the best of our ourselves out in the real world.

I thought book one was amazing but book two was up another level! The way they all came back together in a way that was slow by gave you the feeling of slow burn was excellent. The villain was not what I expected AT ALL! What a perfect end to this story of Pack Clairmont ❤️

Well, like I said in my review of the first book... this story could have easily been told in a single book. Everything that happened here could have fit into the first one if the author had cut a lot of the dragging, the endless internal monologues, and some of the excessive sex scenes. I skipped a lot of pages and internal debates because I just couldn't bring myself to care. River's therapy appointments, for example, did absolutely nothing for me, and there were several other moments that felt exactly the same. Honestly, by the end, I was mostly reading the dialogue and wishing the story would finally be over. And that's never a good sign. It definitely took away from my enjoyment of the book and, surprisingly, even made me care less about the characters than I did in the first one.
This book felt like it spent hundreds of pages going around and around the same little problems, only to solve everything in the span of a few chapters. The miscommunication between River and Camille—which, let's be honest, is already one of my least favorite tropes—dragged on forever. The attack and attempted rape by Holden and Bryce had been hinted at multiple times throughout both books, only for it all to happen so quickly that it almost felt like an afterthought. The author didn't even bother giving each situation its own proper scene. And then there was the whole "everyone is bisexual" dynamic inside the pack, which also took way too long to be resolved. Once again... can you guys please just communicate?
The lawsuit about protecting omegas' rights and trying to change society also ended up feeling like wasted potential. We barely got any actual development. A lawyer shows up saying she can help, then we get pages and pages of Camille debating whether or not she should move forward with it, only for the whole thing to be wrapped up in just a few pages at the end. It honestly felt more like the author wanted to add a socially conscious subplot than actually explore it in a meaningful way. And personally, I think if you're going to bring something like that into the story, then commit to it. Develop it. Make it matter. Otherwise, I'd rather it not be there at all.
Another thing that really started bothering me throughout these books was how much everyone cried. Not just in this one, but in the first book too. Everything became a reason for someone to cry. Camille cried. Jackson cried. River cried. Ambrose cried. Camille's friends cried. It genuinely felt like every emotional moment ended with someone in tears. And while I have absolutely no problem with emotional characters, it reached a point where it stopped having any impact because it was used over and over again as a writing tool. Instead of making scenes feel touching, romantic, or heartbreaking, it actually pulled me out of the story. And honestly—call me sexist if you want—but seeing the guys (and Camille too) crying over absolutely everything wasn't attractive to me at all. Especially considering they were introduced as these dominant, confident alphas who supposedly had everything under control. It just felt disconnected from the personalities the author herself had built.
At least some of the questions I had after the first book were finally answered, like Jackson's job situation. But everything else? Still left hanging. We still don't really know how this society functions outside of the alpha/beta/omega dynamic. Are there regular humans? Is everyone born with one of these designations? Is the alpha or omega supposed to be a separate consciousness inside them? The book keeps mentioning "my alpha" and "my omega" as if they're different entities with their own instincts and personalities, but never actually explains what that means. Those were questions I kept waiting to have answered, and they simply never were.
That being said, I can't say this was a terrible book. There were still enjoyable moments, the pack dynamic had its charm, and there were scenes that genuinely made me smile. But overall, reading this duology became much more tiring than it needed to be. The constant repetition, the pacing issues, and the feeling that the story kept stretching itself just to fill another book slowly wore down my interest.
In the end, I can't help but think this would have been a much stronger story if everything had been wrapped up in the first book. Cut the repetitive scenes, tighten the pacing, keep the best character moments, and this could have been a really enjoyable standalone. Instead, stretching it into two books made the experience feel unnecessarily exhausting, and unfortunately, that ended up taking away a lot of the enjoyment I had when I first started the series.

ugh, this book and duet were so good. Camille must deal with the aftermath of losing her job, no one wanting to hire her because of the Alpha Net article, and no longer having a pack. but even if Cami thinks that the pack no longer wants to court her, it doesn’t mean people aren’t in her corner, including her pack.

Part two of the duet, where we finally get a happily ever after (HEA) after the cliffhanger at the end of the last book. Don’t read this book unless you’ve read part one.
This books picks up a couple months after the last book ends, and everyone is worse off for the miscommunication trope. Camille is split from the pack and looking for a job, River quit his job and moved out, and Ambrose and Jackson are trying to hold things together and support each other. Most of this book is spend working to rebuild the fragile trust between the four, plus some bi-awakening for Jackson and Cami dealing with some alpha-hole nonsense.
This duet spends a lot of time with character development, especially as Cami presents as an omega later in life and doesn’t understand/trust her own instincts yet. Given the broken trust at the end of part one, getting back together is a slow and measured process. The result is what feels like a slowburn romance, even though there are spicy scenes as Cami experiences heat spikes.
I’m not one for slowburn romance (though insta-love isn’t for me either), so this duet didn’t really hit the sweet spot for me as it the relationships were really slow to reach maturity. It’s nice to see an omegaverse with a scent match that proceeds at a slow pace, but I’m not patient enough for that pace to be two books.
This wasn’t a bad duet, but you should know that it’s heavier on character development. The good news is that the most frustrating character goes to therapy to make himself better (I love that in a book). If you like omegaverse, this is a solid offering.

This started after the ending of Book I. I hate that trope so it already started off in a sort of negative space. I was actually quite irritated at Camille the first part of this book. Yes she's an omega but I didn't feel like she took much agency for her actions. I'm sure some of that can be laid at the feet of designation, however we get amazing examples of other omegas who are not like that. Sure there is a period of adjustment but I felt like she just gave up all agency and doesn't try. I was not feeling sorry for her at all. The men kept trying to communicate with her, but she cut them out. For me, for a 40 year old, that was a bummer. She was acting more like she was 20. The first book was really good with her maturity and level of practicalness. Totally relatable.
I felt like the middle was a bit slow without much happening. I loved the legal pieces and wanted more of that - and I wanted way more exploration of the plot line of because that would have provided better tension. It was too periphery for me and overtaken by the heat spikes and smut. The smut was fine - though, after the build up, I wanted more of .
Overall I did enjoy the series and will continue with it and look for other books from the author. It was still quite a bit above many other Omegaverse - though I'd exchange some of the smut for better plot development of that side plot because how the guys handled it was chef's kiss.

Neither was meeting a pack that turns her life upside down.
This was the PERFECT conclusion to this duet. I am truly obsessed with all of these characters and the growth that they all went through. River learning how to deal with his emotions correctly and feel okay asking for help and actually talking instead of holding everything in. It was perfect, and I loved how hard he tried to become a better person. I also really loved Jackson’s story and his coming to terms with the fact that he may actually have feelings for Ambrose and River. I truly loved that plotline; it was so sweet, and it was so nice to see him come to accept this part of himself. AND AMBROSE, oh my god, I am in love with that man on a whole new level. He is a top-tier man. This was truly a perfect OV duet, and I am genuinely obsessed with every character; they balance each other out perfectly.
I really hope Emily Antoinette continues writing omegaverse, because the way she pulls at your heartstrings and makes all the characters so different yet perfect for each other is absolutely amazing. She really knocked it out of the park with this one.
Oh, also, Dolly is still my favorite character, thanks.
