Okay I’m not sure what kind of magic was in this book but I devoured it whole in one sitting.

Aiden and Jay were so incredibly sweet. I absolutely loved seeing flashbacks of their friendship as kids/teens. The love they shared for each other was so tender and gooey.

Aiden was so protective and patient. Just the greenest of flags. Aiden never rushed Jay and always took it at his pace.

Jay was a sweetie who didn’t deserve what he went through with Ray. Watching him heal physically and mentally was so beautiful.

I was rooting for Aiden and Jay the entire time while also impatiently wanting to put them in a room alone together so they’d give in to the tension! The slow burn was painful at times but so warranted and perfect.

The religious trauma that Aiden and Jay shared definitely hit close to me personally but the way Lacy handled it was so well done. I felt their pain and the anguish. But I also felt the healing they both went through. Their love healed a little bit of my heart I didn’t know I needed.

I’m still side eyeing 😒 Heather pretty hard. The things she said to Jay after everything happened irked my soul. But I kinda get it she just wanted to protect her baby brother.

The PNW back drop was so beautiful. All the imagery Lacy infused - I felt like I was there.

I could keep word vomiting about all the things I loved about this book. As debuts go this was amazing.

I’m very excited to read Luke’s book. Oh and sweet baby Riley’s whenever it’s his turn to shine! 😌

Thank you to the author for the gifted e-arc all opinions are my own.

This story was honestly really unexpected. I was whole heartedly invested in the characters and everything. This story touches on things such as the adult entertainment industry, LGBTQ+ relationships, domestic violence, religious trauma, and more. I loved both MMCs in the story and both sides of their story from coming out and the events that transpired for both of them and their coming back together. I do highly recommend checking CW before reading.

This is definitely a book I see myself coming back to and love seeing even through the loss there was still support from the characters. Both had very different journeys and I cannot wait for the next book.

The characters were very relatable, and I absolutely ADORE the fact that Aiden was smart about his approach with Jay. Having been in my own situation I know what it's like to not see the signs, not be able to just leave, and how I felt and saw myself after. Jay is a character I just wanna hug and not let go of. Aiden as well because I can also relate to having come from a family with pastors for my parents and being shunned and abused for not being straight. I really also enjoyed getting a bit of the adult content creators side as I've watched a few docuseries on things for the adult entertainment industry before and it was a refreshing new thing to read in a book as of recent.

This was a solid first book from this debut author.

Best friends and boyfriends, Jay and Aiden are separated at 17 when their parents discover their secret relationship. Sixteen years later, Jay’s had enough of his life with his boyfriend, Jay, who’s obsessed with regularly posting content to their OnlyFans and invites others to join them on camera without Jay’s consent. When Ray accepts an invite to an orgy in Florida, Jay comes face-to-face with the man he gave his heart to as a teenager, and they instantly start to reconnect.

It’s clear that these two were both pining for each other all those years, and I enjoyed seeing them getting to know each other again. But before that, Jay has to go through a horrific experience with Ray, and I did hurt for him. He’s fair and good, and he shows such strength after the incident, I was so proud of him.

Aiden’s the most loyal, unwavering support, dropping everything to be there for Jay whenever he needs him. He’s not going to lose Jay again, though he gives him space to heal, and I loved his commitment to making the relevant changes to his life so that he can be 100% focused and committed to Jay for their future.

There are some mature decisions in this book, and I appreciated that these two didn’t rush back into anything romantic with each other, instead enjoying being in each other’s company as ‘friends’ before exploring being more. I was pleased that they both sought therapy, at different times, to help them deal with the trauma they’re endured in their lives.

I was yelling at them to talk about things sooner though as the misunderstandings did lead to poor Jay doubting Aiden’s feelings after the treatment he received from Ray.

I really rated the side characters in this, including Aiden’s best friend Lauren, Mac and Leon, and Jay’s mum and sister, though the latter is very much a well-meaning rottweiler sometimes in her desire to protect her younger brother.

The ending did feel a bit rushed, and I was a bit stunned about the future of one of the side characters, but I’m sure there’s a story to come there in the future.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read.

Some of my favourite quotes

This is exactly what I’ve always wanted, where I always knew I was supposed to be. After all this time, I’m finally home.

“I’ll support you however I can. You don’t have to go through it alone. Now that I have you back in my life, I’m not losing you again.”

“I see you, and I know who you really are.”

“You’re not broken. You have damage. But who doesn’t have damage?”

“I’m here. Day or night, no matter what.”

“Baby, there is no one I could ever want more than you.”

“Baby, I wish we could get those years back. God, I do, but we can’t. What we can do is make the most of what’s in front of us. We found our way back to each other. That’s what matters. We’re exactly where we’re supposed to be, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.”

He’s mine now, and I’ll make damn sure he never doubts how deeply he’s loved again.

“And thank you.” “For what?” “For being braver than me. For saying how you feel. I’ve wanted this for so long but couldn’t find the nerve. You took the leap and got us here.”

“Baby, it’s going to be a very, very long time before I’m remotely tired of having you near me.”

Couple: Jay and Aiden.

Beta-read the book. Thank you so much for the trust, Lacy!

So, as said above, I had the privilege of beta-reading this beautiful story. I remember I had so much to do at the time, so I thought it would take me a few days to finish it. But once I started reading, I could not stop LOL Jay and Aiden won me over from the very first pages. Their sweet nature and all the trauma they'd been through truly touched my soul. I yearned to see them together again, because it was clear how much better they could make each other's life.

And boy, the reunion did not disappoint 🤭It is to this day one of the sex scenes that combines steam and emotions the best for me. I re-read that one a few times hahaha

Also, the way Lacy trated DV was so real, raw, and sensitive. I know how much thought and care she put into those harder scenes; how she made sure to depict that traumatic situation in the best, most respectable way possible. I'm a psychologist, and I love how she dealt with mental health. I've read a lot of stories that deal with trauma and do not give that crucial aspect the attention it deserves, so I was so very pleased to see that she did.

All the characters feel so beautifully flawed, in the most human way. You may get mad at them at times, but you also love them for their honest mistakes, because you understand their humanity and the bond they share. It's not an easy job to be able to depict fictional characters like that.

If you like second-chance stories that touches some heavy, real-life subjects, this one is for you. Jay and Aiden have their (amazing) hard-earned happy ending, and their journey will both break and heal you all at once. If you feel like you can handle those difficult topics, then dive into it. I'm sure most people won't regret it ❤️

Wow. This story was absolutely amazing. It’s hard to believe this is Lacy’s debut novel!

I wasn’t expecting it to be so heavy and deal with such intense topics like domestic violence and familial homophobia. I was expecting a story full of seggs considering the main characters were adult entertainers.

Instead, I was hit with a beautiful and painful story about two childhood best friends who fell deeply in love and were torn apart because of ignorance and lack of empathy. With two young men who were verbally abused by their fathers for being true to themselves.

Aiden and Jay had been friends since they were in kindergarten. Both their parents were very close friends who spent a lot of their time together. Aiden’s father was a pastor and Jay and his parents were members of his church.

The two boys were thick as thieves and inseparable. But as they got older, their feelings morphed from best friends to something more. They knew how risky it was for them to be together considering who Aiden’s father was, but that didn’t stop them from falling head over heels in love with each other.

When they’re discovered in a very compromising position, they’re separated and forbidden from communicating with each other.

They had no knowledge of each other’s whereabouts for 14 years. Years of which they yearned to be together and just went through the motions of living.

Jay has made a name for himself as a software engineer and has a steady boyfriend. A boyfriend who manipulates him into doing things he’s not comfortable with, like being in an open relationship and sharing their intimate lives on OF.

It is this manipulation that brings him face to face with the love of his life after 14 years. Jay and Aiden find themselves in a corn collaboration that changes everything for Jay.

It’s this collab that makes his so called boyfriend do the unthinkable. Jay never expected to find himself in such a mess but instead of feeling like the victim he was, he felt ashamed and embarrassed.

He didn’t want to believe the red flags his ex was waving. Little by little his ex dimmed his light and made him feel worthless. He allowed him to change who Jay really was and he went along with it to avoid confrontations.

When Aiden finds out what happened to Jay, he lost his mind. He dropped everything and was by Jay’s side in the blink of an eye. He promised himself he would never let him go again.

Aiden knew how traumatized Jay would be after what happened and only offered his friendship and support. He loved Jay with all his heart and would wait patiently until he was ready for a relationship.

Aiden never expected to find his love again and despite how he hated Jay’s ex for making him do things he didn’t want, he was thankful to had Jay be part of the collaboration that brought him back to him.

It was long road to recovery for Jay. He needed to find his way back to himself and understand that what happened wasn’t his fault. That being a grown man didn’t mean he was weak or pathetic for being manipulated.

Aiden too had to heal from losing his family after his father kicked him out and forbid him from contacting them. It was so hard for him to not be able to see them anymore and all because of who he was.

Aiden and Jay missed out on so many special moments together. Their lives could have been so different if they hadn’t been separated.

"𝓑𝓪𝓫𝔂, 𝓘 𝔀𝓲𝓼𝓱 𝔀𝓮 𝓬𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 𝓰𝓮𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓼𝓮 𝔂𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓼 𝓫𝓪𝓬𝓴. 𝓖𝓸𝓭, 𝓘 𝓭𝓸, 𝓫𝓾𝓽 𝔀𝓮 𝓬𝓪𝓷'𝓽.

"𝓦𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝔀𝓮 𝓬𝓪𝓷 𝓭𝓸 𝓲𝓼 𝓶𝓪𝓴𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓶𝓸𝓼𝓽 𝓸𝓯 𝔀𝓱𝓪𝓽'𝓼 𝓲𝓷 𝓯𝓻𝓸𝓷𝓽 𝓸𝓯 𝓾𝓼. 𝓦𝓮 𝓯𝓸𝓾𝓷𝓭 𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝔀𝓪𝔂 𝓫𝓪𝓬𝓴 𝓽𝓸 𝓮𝓪𝓬𝓱 𝓸𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻. 𝓣𝓱𝓪𝓽'𝓼 𝔀𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓶𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼. 𝓦𝓮'𝓻𝓮 𝓮𝔁𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝔀𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮 𝔀𝓮'𝓻𝓮 𝓼𝓾𝓹𝓹𝓸𝓼𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓫𝓮, 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓘 𝔀𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭𝓷'𝓽 𝓽𝓻𝓪𝓭𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝓪𝓷𝔂𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰.”

My heart hurt for them both. It hurt that they could have been together all this time but because of a self righteous and hypocritical man, they lost precious time together.

I think this is my longest review ever but I had to express how much I loved this book! I loved how Lacy didn’t rush them getting back together. She had them get to know each other again and build their relationship basically from scratch. They connected at a deeper, emotional level than just the physical intimacy and that to me is what makes this book so powerful and beautiful.

If you or anyone has ever been a victim of domestic violence, please know that it isn’t/wasn’t your fault. Getting away doesn’t make you weak, it makes you strong and brave. Please reach out for help, you’re not as alone as you think❤️

An empathetic, romantic story with well-crafted multi-dimensional character makes it an engrossing, unputdownable read. No matter your orientation, the reader heart just swoons at alpha protective Aiden Amato, who swoops in to save his childhood love, jay from abuse.
Provides safe haven for his body & soul, rekindling faith in the visceral power of true love. Years spent apart haven’t dimmed the intensity of their care, nor the passion. It’s one of those fated romances that we all strive for in our lives.
Jay is a victim…nay a survivor of DV. He alone is an inspiration with his persistent grit, but side characters providing a cocoon of safety, need to be lauded too. His mom, tough-as-nails sister, Aiden, all form shield around him.
Isn’t this love adorable?
I enjoyed this peep into the bts of adult film industry, the in-depth narrative was eye opening to say the least.
Heartwarming and sweet till the last page, family stands firm

This is a second chance romance, featuring Jay and Aiden, and is book one in the Wrecked series.

Aiden and Jay reunite years after their friendship and first love ended badly. When they meet again in Florida, old feelings return and they must decide if they can overcome their painful past and be together.

This was a great read. I can’t believe this is the author’s first book. Jay and Aiden were meant to be. Their reconnection was explosive and is the catalyst to them reaching for a second chance together. I enjoyed watching them work through their past, heal, and figure out if they could finally have the love they missed the first time. I

My first book by this author and omg I loved it. You go through so many emotions and im so glad Aiden and Jay found each other. This is best friends to lovers with some years not seeing each other type of relationship. My heart broke for Jay and all the things he went through with Ray, but I’m so glad he found Aiden and that he had a family to support him and be there for him. Such an amazing book!

ARC Review

I finished this book in one day. This book had me feeling all kinds of emotions.

Jay and Aiden were childhood best friends who fell in lobe with each other at 16. But they were discovered together and Aiden's dad, being a pastor, were forced apart. They found each other again after 14 years a d reconnected as if not a day went by.

I loved Aiden and Jay together. i was rooting for them the whole time.

Poor sweet Jay went through a toxic, abusive relationship. Aiden was so supportive of Jay and patient waiting for him to heal so he could express what he wanted with him.

overall, this book was amazing. I don't know what it is about it but I couldn't put it down.

Thank you to The Author's Agency and Lacy Lincoln for the opportunity to read this book.

Jay and Aiden were best friends to more as teens, but they were forced apart by Aiden's overbearing pastor father. Years later each is living separate lives. Jay's in a relationship that's not what it seems, though. And Aiden is a successful adult entertainer who's thinking of his future. When they reconnect, it's as if all their old feelings are there, only magnified. They will have to take things slowly, though, because Jay's current relationship is a toxic one that Jay needs to be rescued from and needs time to recuperate.

I honestly cannot believe this is a debut novel. Jay and Aiden and their whole world are written so well, with so many complications and layers. Their slow burn is so good, with Aiden becoming Jay's rock, helping him process the abuse he had gone through and how he was now free to be with his first love. And when they finally came together, whew! But yes, though their chemistry is seriously hot, it is their emotional connection that kept me reading. I love Aiden and Jay and their supporting cast, even sister Heather, who came across as a bit of a hardass, though I guess it was just her protectiveness of her brother. And brother Luke's story is up next, can't wait!

3.5/5. This book was sweet! Aiden was great. He was so supportive and patient with his Jay. Jay was great, too. He was kind, thoughtful, and really worked on himself. I enjoyed how these two found each other again. That was super unique and fun! And I love Aiden's relentless aid and comfort for Jay. I love that at the end Jay was able to give Aiden some comfort. I enjoyed the tension between these two and their backstory. Overall, the second half was slightly boring for me. I think a lot happened in the first half and the second half, while necessary and healing, was a bit long. Overall, a good read! The author does a good job of keeping a heavy subject fairly light.

Notes: 2/5 spice levels, sex workers (porn/OF stars), abusive ex, abusive relationship, second chance, childhood best friends, religious trauma, family issues, portland

Ah, look, it was sweet for a first novel by a debut author, but it wasn’t the book for me.

Aiden and Jay’s second chance love story was hard-won and tender. After being separated by their parents as teenagers and forced to enter adulthood alone, without their best friend and the person who made them feel the safest, Aiden and Jayson go their seperate ways in life. They both make something of themselves, with careers that they’re proud of, but both men are lonely. Aiden is ready to leave the porn industry behind in favour of real estate pursuits now that he has his degree, and Jay is stuck in a loveless, abusive relationship that has slowly sucked the life out of him. When they meet again in Florida, it’s like no time has passed at all - their feelings for each other haven’t changed, and one weekend together only intensifies every emotion they’ve had to suppress for the last ten years.

It could have been a really nice romance, a really great story about healing from trauma and learning to trust again, but it felt a bit… off.
I couldn’t put my finger on it right away. But then I read this line: “I used to believe that abuse only happened to other people, people who were weak or blind.” What the fuck kind of statement is that? From an author who’s basing their entire novel around domestic abuse. Like, I get a character feeling like it’s not something that would ever happen to them, completely understand that. But saying domestic abuse and violence only happens to people who are “weak and blind”? That really upset me. It’s like it didn’t occur to the author or any of their sensitivity readers (if there were any) that DV survivors might be reading this book.

There were other instances that really bothered me as well. Considering this book centres around DV and healing from abuse, I was really taken aback by the authors lack of care when it came to handling conversations and dialogue around violence. For example, the “I’m sorry you feel that way” comments that absolve other characters of wrongdoing. The way Heather immediately shamed Jay for not telling her he was being abused. The way she talks to him is kind of gross. It definitely borders on victim-blaming, which sucks because she’s supposed to be a lawyer who helps victims of violence all the time?
And having Aiden deliberately bait Ray, despite having seen how Ray treats Jayson? He watched him grab him at the restaurant and knew he’d shouted at him, yet Aiden still baited him. I know the author needed a catalyst for the violence, but the video alone would have done it, she didn’t need to include this as well. It was out of character for Aiden.

Honestly, I feel like the author wanted to write a story about abuse, but didn’t bother to learn anything about actually dealing with trauma or how to write dialogue that doesn’t victim blame.

And the writing was… well, I thought the writing was very much all tell, and no show. When I read I want to feel completely immersed in the story - I want to be there with the characters and experience their emotions. I didn’t find that here with this story, however I’m aware that this is the authors first novel and that will change as their writing evolves. I’d still be willing to try another of their books in the future, as long as themes are handled with a little more care.

2.5 stars rounded up. I mean, I did finish it, but I wouldn’t read it again and I’m not sure I’d recommend it.

 Wrecked Over by Lacy Lincoln

Is it a romance or high-heat erotica? That’s the question I went in with. While the cover and the blurb promise a high-heat, explicit ride, what I found underneath was a powerhouse of a romance that grounds itself in some very heavy, very real themes.

So despite my wanting to I have edited my wording to be "Safe" for review.

The Spice & The Setup

If you’re looking for a "slow burn," this isn't it. We follow an adult industry pro, so it’s spice, spice, spice right away.

It’s a classic "meet-🌶️," which I actually appreciated. Once you get the physical stuff out of the way early, it’s fun to watch the actual romance blossom in its place.

The beginning is incredibly heavy on the heat, but as the story progresses, the spicy scenes take a backseat to the plot. Don't get me wrong it's still a 5-alarm fire but the romance is the engine driving this book.

The Characters

Aiden: A veteran industry performer who is bored with that life and desperate for something real. He’s surprisingly sweet, patient, and understanding.

Jay: The true star of the show. Jay is a textbook survivor of a toxic domestic situation, and his journey is what makes this book so believable.

A Raw Look at Reality

Lacy Lincoln deserves kudos for shining a light on Domestic Violence (DV) in MM relationships. There’s a common, toxic narrative that because it's two men, "nobody cares" or it isn't as serious. Watching Jay make excuses for his partner’s lack of boundaries the way "love" makes you stay until you have to disappear just to survive felt incredibly authentic.

The book also touches on religious trauma and the reality of long-term cohabitation (shoutout to the author for mentioning that when you live together, spontaneity and intimacy take a back seat to "prep time"—it’s real!).

The Critique
The Pacing: There is a two-chapter "lore dump" disguised as a lunch date. If you’re a casual reader, you might not mind, but it is heavy on the exposition.

Hand-holding: At times, the story feels a bit "hand-holdy." There are moments that almost break the fourth wall or over-explain a character’s suspicions when the reader has already figured it out.

The Emotional Spark: Surprisingly, the purely physical scenes at the start felt higher-tension than the emotional ones later on. I expected more butterflies during the intimate moments once they fell in love, but it felt a bit "eh" compared to the high-octane opening.

The Protagonist Balance: This is undeniably Jay’s story. While Aiden is important as the "Mr. Steal-Yo-Man" (stealing a man who definitely deserved to be saved!), he occasionally felt a bit replaceable compared to Jay’s massive character arc.

Final Verdict
Wrecked Over isn't for the faint of heart, but it is a "romance first" story. It uses the adult film industry as a backdrop to tell a gritty, nuanced story about starting fresh and looking over your shoulder. If you want a book where the spice pulls you in but the heart keeps you there, this is it.

❤️‍🔥 Wrecked Over by Lacy Lincoln ❤️‍🔥

“You’ve always been my safe space”

wowie. i wasn’t expecting this to be such an emotional book for me, but it was- in the best way!

Wrecked Over is about Aiden, an adult content creator (AFoxXXTop) looking for more in life and Jay, a software engineer who’s in a TOXIC relationship with a guy who makes him film content with him but doesn’t know how to get out. (i wish i could show yall the notes i took on this book but i can’t due to spoilers- but lemme say, ‘RAY IS A D*CK AND I HATE HIM’ is written more than once 🙃)

when Jays boyfriend, Ray, drags him along to do some ‘content creating’ in Florida, fate pulls Aiden and Jay together in the most unexpected way. and guess what??? they were childhood besties and teenage lovers. what could possibly happen? 😏

i did not enjoy the angst between Jay and Ray (my poor baby Jay… i just wanted to wrap my arms around him) but it was COMPLETELY necessary for the storyline!!
both men also end up having to deal with some awful religious trauma, but thankfully they have each others backs which makes the hurt/comfort trope go both ways ❤️‍🩹

one of my FAVORITE things about this book is that we get to see how much therapy helps, not only for one of our MCs but later on for a side character (who is getting their book next 🤭). the author isn’t just like, ‘ok it’s the next day and now everything is better’. no, you really get to see the reality of having to be patient with yourself (and others) while healing from trauma. i really appreciated that 🤍

some tidbits:
❤️‍🔥 friends to lovers 🥰
❤️‍🔥 second chance romance
❤️‍🔥 hurt/comfort
❤️‍🔥 movie references 🎥
❤️‍🔥 adult content creators
❤️‍🔥 TWIN TABBY CATS 🐈 🐈
❤️‍🔥 flip f*cking
❤️‍🔥 the most ridiculous pet names
❤️‍🔥 LAUGHING DURING S*X (one of my fave things ever) 🤭

Wrecked Over by Lacy Lincoln was honestly an unexpected but very emotional read, and I ended up completely invested in Jay and Aiden’s story.

The book follows childhood best friends and first loves who were forced apart at seventeen when their relationship was discovered. Sixteen years later they find their way back into each other’s lives, but both have been through a lot in the years apart. Jay is coming out of a deeply toxic relationship, while Aiden is still carrying the scars of growing up in a strict religious household that rejected him for who he was.

This story touches on some heavy topics including the adult entertainment industry, domestic violence, religious trauma, and healing after abuse, so checking the content warnings beforehand is definitely a good idea.

What really stood out to me was the care in how the relationship was handled. Jay and Aiden clearly never stopped caring about each other, but they don’t rush back into things. Instead they rebuild their connection slowly, focusing on friendship and trust first. Aiden was incredibly supportive and patient with Jay, giving him the time and space he needed to heal while still showing up for him whenever it mattered.

Jay’s journey was especially powerful. After everything he goes through, seeing him slowly regain his strength and sense of self was really moving. I also appreciated that both characters sought therapy and took real steps toward healing rather than everything magically fixing itself.

The side characters added a lot to the story as well, especially Aiden’s best friend Lauren and Jay’s protective family.

Overall this was a strong debut from Lacy Lincoln. It was emotional, heavy at times, but also hopeful. I found myself really rooting for Jay and Aiden and couldn’t put the book down. I’m definitely curious to see where the series goes next.

Aiden and Jay 🖤

This was SO good.

Jay’s relationship slowly turns toxic. With his current boyfriend deciding, NOT discussing with him that they would film spicy content together and with others, he finds himself in an open relationship he didn’t want. However, the good thing about that is when he shows up to film said adult content and his former childhood best friend is there who he loved but got ripped away from him.

This was so heartbreaking and beautiful and healing.

Calling this a slow burn feels funny since there is a literal orgy in the beginning, but the slow build of Jay and Aiden was perfect for them. I loved that they focused on rebuilding their friendship before taking anything further.

Their love was palpable. I just was rooting for them so hard, and I want them to have nothing but the best.

My only real complaint is at times the pacing felt a little off, but nothing too terrible. There are some unanswered questions, but I look forward to Luke’s story next and getting more answers.

I can’t wait to read more from this author!

I honestly don’t know what was in this book but it had me under some type of spell because I devoured it in a single sitting. Aiden and Jay are just so sweet my teeth hurt, and those flashbacks to their childhood friendship made their connection feel so real, I could practically see them growing up together. The slow burn had me on the edge of my seat, torn between wanting to scream at them to kiss already and just soaking in every tiny moment of longing.

Aiden is the ultimate green flag protective, patient, always making sure Jay is comfortable. I was rooting for them so hard, but my heart absolutely broke for Jay and everything he went through with Ray. His healing process physically and mentally was handled so beautifully, and I found myself tearing up more than once. The religious trauma both characters carry hit way too close to home for me, especially the parts about strict families and rejection for not being straight. The author wrote that pain and the slow path to healing with so much care and honesty; it honestly felt like they understood.

There were so many moments I wanted to reach into the book and hug Jay, and honestly Aiden too. I really related to the struggles around recognizing abuse and how hard it is to leave and rebuild afterwards. And as someone who’s watched a bunch of documentaries on the adult content creator world, I loved how that part of the story was woven in—it felt fresh and surprisingly real.

This was my first book by this author, and I genuinely ran through every emotion reading it. By the time Aiden and Jay finally found their way back to each other and started building something real, I was a mess in the best possible way. I’ll be thinking about this one for a while.

Trigger warning: DV on page!

Ya know I just started getting into reading MM romance & I was never like totally against or for same sex marriages my view was more of a “who you love is your business & if he/she/they make you happy then fuck it”type. Do what makes you happy - period. With that being said, if you aren’t sure of your views I strongly recommend Wrecked Over. It doesn’t push you to view same sex marriage either way. It just shows both sides and how you should accept yourself for who you are.

Wrecked Over was beyond amazing! It brings a whole new light to me when realizing people’s hatred over same sex relationships and/or marriage.

Aiden’s self worth is something every person should strive for when struggling with coming out and facing the obstacles of other people’s opinions and esp their fathers.. Aiden did exactly what he should have done! I loved loved loved Aiden’s character most just because he didn’t back down and settle for us. He was the perfect best friend & perfect partner when it got to that & most of all the perfect definition of embracing himself.

Jay’s character broke me at the beginning when he kept just going with the flow. It’s always my biggest fear violence will come from these types of situations but Jay’s character rose above & did the work to bring his old self back.

Jay & Aiden are amazing together. There’s just not another word for it. They were made for each other as best friends and lovers — and I was so glad they found themselves back to each other.

Thank you Lacy for writing a very eye opening, emotional, overwhelming, but mostly beautiful MM romance. Thank you for the eARC & thank you Author Agency for always giving me so many new authors to read even if I overwhelm myself with many sign ups.

This book completely wrecked me in the best way. Like, how is this a debut?!?

Aiden and Jay’s story pulled me in from the very beginning, and I honestly could not put it down. Their history as childhood best friends and teenage first loves made their reunion hit so much harder. The flashbacks added so much depth to their relationship, and you could feel that their love for each other never really disappeared. I was swooning!

Jay’s journey was super emotional to read. After everything he went through in his toxic relationship, seeing him slowly heal both physically and emotionally was beautiful. I may have cried more than one... Aiden was exactly the kind of partner he needed. Protective, patient, and always willing to move at Jay’s pace. The way he showed up for Jay again and again made him such a green flag MMC that has made it to my top book boyfriend lists!

This story also tackles some heavy themes like religious trauma and abuse, and I really appreciated how thoughtfully those were handled. The healing process felt realistic and the support system around Jay made those moments even more impactful. So make sure to read the TW before reading if this is something you may not be into reading.

The slow burn between them was so worth it. You spend so much time rooting for them to finally give in to the tension, and when they do, it feels completely earned. I was kicking my feet and giggling the whole time.

Overall, this was emotional, tender, and full of heart. A really strong debut (which I am still in shock by), and I am already excited to continue more from Lacy Lincoln.

I read this book in one sitting and could not put it down. This is the first book in the series and there are apparently 6 books planned so I have so much to look forward to in this story world.

These 2 MCs really struggled to their HEA but it was so worth the angst. I loved their love story and I loved their journey to each other.

My favourite books to read are about childhood friends who get separated and then find each other when they’re adults. I liked that this story took place when they were in their thirties and that they had lived through many similar experiences by the time they found each other.

I liked most of their family members and I liked how supportive most of them were (I’m looking at YOU Heather!) and I can’t wait for Luke’s story which is to be the next book. Bring it on!!

Check the triggers when you read because there is abuse that happens on the book which may be triggering to some. Those scenes were hard to read and so was the aftermath but to give Lacy credit, she didn’t dwell on that part too long and kept the story moving smoothly to a better conclusion.

The steam was pretty steamy especially towards the end of the book. Once those two found each other, the steam floodgates opened and hallelujah! There was also definitely major angst there but the conclusion was so satisfying. Jay and Aiden certainly worked hard for their HEA. I loved this book and I can’t wait for the second book in the series.

I’m so grateful to the author for this advance copy.

This is a debut novel and it’s a truly gripping emotional book. People need to carefully read the triggers warning if you are sensitive to certain things. This amazing book is about Jay and Aiden who were childhood friends who fell in love and came out to each other. Their senior year in high school their relationship was discovered and they were separated. Aiden goes on to become this well known porn and OF star. Now as he getting older he’s thinking about getting out and doing something else with his life as he finishes his MBA on the east coast. Jay has moved to the west coast and he’s a doing great, owns his own home and is living with his boyfriend. Jay and Aiden reconnect at an orgy. Feelings are resuscitated and the men realize they still care and want to stay in touch. Unfortunately Jay’s boyfriend is jealous and not willing to let go and move on. The story turns very dark with Jay having to find strength and courage to leave his toxic relationship. Aiden becomes this tower of strength and resilience that Jay needs to move forward. The book is gritty, very spicy with the descriptions of the orgy scenes and a few MMM scenes. This book is not just a MM second chance book. It’s about finding love and courage and knowing that you deserve it. I loved the characters. Jay is just a really nice guy who allowed himself to fall into an unfortunate situation and Aiden was this great guy who was looking for love and happiness. The side characters were great especially Jay’s sister. I’m eager to read the next book in this series.

Wrecked Over by Lacy Lincoln is a very emotional and sweet story. Lacy has done a great job at handling sensitive topics throughout the book. I absolutely adored Aiden and Jay’s characters and the beautiful relationship they diligently work on building together when fate gave them second chance. They both were victims of religious bigotry which lead them to have religious trauma (especially Aiden). Even after all that trauma, Aiden worked in himself (emotionally and mentally) to grow and become the version he is proud of. He is a Giant Green Flag and is uber understanding, protective and supportive when it comes to Jay. Jay is stuck in an abusive and toxic relationship and when his partner cross the line, Jay gets himself out of the situation and to safety. Jay’s first instinct is to call Aiden and Aiden being the sweetheart is there for Jay during Jay’s worst nightmare. While Jay is recovering from domestic violence, Aiden is there with him at every step without any expectations and silently uplifting him. Aiden and Jay rebuilt their relationship better and stronger second time around and are each other’s safe place, home and biggest cheerleader. This story definitely has a lot of emotional scenes, funny banter, sweet and romantic moments and tasteful spicy chapters. I will definitely recommend this book if you like any of the above mentioned tropes.

Y’all, I am having a really hard time believing this is a debut. It was so good. Like how can this be a debut? I literally cannot wrap my head around it.

From the very beginning, I knew I was in for a ride in more ways than one. First, I knew I was going to be obsessed with the main characters, and I was not wrong. Second, I knew I was going to go through it emotionally. I could already tell I was being set up for an emotional rollercoaster, and it definitely did not disappoint. Third, the main characters are everything. Everything about them makes you cheer for them and root for them the entire time without hesitation.

Watching the main characters reunite and find their way back to each other was amazing and gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings. However, the thing that really made me fall for Lacy and her storytelling was the way the harder topics were handled. It is not easy to write about some of the subjects included in this book, but I truly think Lacy did a great job addressing them, and I have to applaud her for that.

Wrecked Over is a truly special story that explores some heartbreaking truths and moments that show just how strong people can be. Sometimes it hurts to be human, but it can also be worth it because you never know what might be waiting on the other side of the hard times. Lacy wrote an amazing story that captures that feeling perfectly. I cannot wait to see what else is in store from this author and this series.

Immediately drawn in and devoured in one sitting

This book was so good I was unable to put it down.

I love a good friends to lovers second chance romance and this one delivered with some added hurt/comfort vibes that were perfectly done. Then for good measure you add in some adult streaming with a dash of religious trauma. Shake it up and serve with finally healing from trauma with the man you always pinned for.

This book was an absolute rollercoaster with all of the things that were going on. Jay and Aiden were the best of friends growing up and when it became more they were happy until they were caught. The boys being split with no contact until a series of unbelievable events landed Jay in a huge group thing he didn't want to. Imagine his surprise when Aiden walks in and rocks his world.

These two are absolute perfection together. They manage to make it seem like they are the only two in the middle of a corn shoot where they finally get the moment that was ripped away from them when they were young. This moment cemented some truths they now knew without a doubt. They still wanted and needed each other.

Seeing their story come together was heartbreaking but absolutely beautiful. Aiden was quick to jump in the minute Jay needed him. Their friendship was beautiful but their relationship was what everyone dreams of.

I'm excited for the next book after how this teased it.

4.5 ⭐️

This was such a strong debut. The story pulled me in right away and I really enjoyed Jay and Aiden’s journey. Their reconnection felt emotional, heartfelt, and very real, and it was beautiful seeing how their shared history shaped the relationship they build in the present.

Both characters carry a lot from their pasts, and I appreciated how thoughtfully the story explored those struggles. The themes of trauma, especially religious trauma, added an emotional depth that made their growth and healing feel meaningful.

I also loved that the story focuses on rebuilding trust and friendship, which made the relationship development feel genuine and earned. The connection between Jay and Aiden felt incredibly authentic, and that foundation made their relationship development feel even more meaningful.

There were so many moments between them that stood out, from the more emotional scenes to the quieter interactions that showed how much they cared about each other. I was rooting for them the entire time.

While the pacing felt a little uneven in places and there were a few unanswered questions, it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment. If anything, it just made me more curious about what’s coming next.

Overall, this was a really impressive debut with emotional depth and memorable characters. I’m definitely excited to continue the series.

This isn’t just sex; it’s our history. It’s pouring every ounce of want we’ve been carrying— the longing, the love, the ache of being apart— into the most intimate way two people can say I’m yours.

I feel honored to have had the opportunity to read this ARC. Lacy Lincoln's debut is solid and coherent, with well-crafted scenes and perfectly delineated characters. Being the first book in the Wrecked Series, it’s a standalone story, but it also reveals details of the next book, Luke’s story, which for some reason didn’t surprise me but intrigued me enough to continue the saga. A book about frienship, second chances, resilience and loving yourself packed with a lot of grit, passion, and unconditional love that’s well worth reading.

Thank you so much to The Author Agency and the author for the ARC in exchange for a review

Jfc this book made me feel so bad for Jay! All the time I was really rooting for him to kick his boyfriend in the sack and leave! For God's sake, leave Aiden! You are better than this! You don’t deserve this!

Ok, so I got carried away, maybe a little! Let’s rewind. What is “Wrecked Over” about?

Aiden is an adult film star, and he’s thinking about retiring and pursue other things, but he agrees to one last job before he says goodbye for good. There he meets Jay. Again. Jay and he used to be best friends and in love, but since their parents found them together, they were separated and lost touch.

Jay has a career in tech, but he and his boyfriend started doing some spicy scenes online, while Jay thought it would be fun to spice things up, his boyfriend, Ray, is completely obsessed with social media. He wants more scenes, more content, more everything! So when Jay feels something real again with Aiden, he starts questioning his relationship with Ray. But like I said, Ray is abusive, manipulative, and really has the nerve! So Jay’s road to freedom and happiness might not be so easy to achieve as he thought.

Aiden and Jay are really adorable together. Jay is Aiden’s world, and it’s clear he was missing something before Jay re-entered his life. Aiden does everything to make Jay happy while respecting his boundaries. He’s just a big cutie, and he’s adorable when he tries to make plans for his future that include being near Jay, now that he knows nothing will take him away. I loved when he dropped everything to help his “friend” Jay. Sure, Aiden… friend, just friend!

Jay’s journey is a little different. He really does suffer a lot, and it was a struggle to read him being ab*sed for so long. I think it’s really important that we keep having books with DV in them, Jay is really strong, and it broke my heart to witness his story, but on the other hand, he really deserved a lot of happiness in his life. He just wanted to live a regular relationship full of love and respect!

“Wrecked Over” is the start of a new series, and I am really excited to see what Luke’s book will be like! I was really hoping to see more of the twins in the future and of the guys from the party in Florida.

Love comes in all shapes and sizes and should never be judged.
What it matters is sharing a life with your soulmate, the person that gets you, supports you and shows you what true love is.
Aiden works in the adult film industry and leads a glamourous life in New York. At least that’s what people think. In reality, he is lonely and craves a real connection, he craves what he once had, but lost.
Jay is also living a façade of a relationship. It may seem perfect, but he is being controlled, manipulated and truly unhappy.
When they see each other after many years apart, their connection feels stronger that ever, but nothing in life is easy.
Jay’s toxic relationship, Aiden’s job, their past and present traumas and difficult family situations are all obstacles that stand in the way of their happiness.
Wrecked over is a story of true love, the one that you will never get over and will always consume you. It is a story of friendship, trust, protectiveness, real support and knowing how to wait for the right time.
Lacy Lincoln brings light to hard topics and writes about the power of love that is capable of overcoming real life challenges and real-life prejudice.
A beautiful MM love story that transcends time and people’s judgment.
Thank you for the ARC.

Wrecked Over was such an emotional and powerful read. From the first chapters I was completely pulled into Aiden and Jay’s story. Their history, their pain, and the undeniable connection between them made this book incredibly hard to put down.
Second chance romances can be tricky, but this one felt so genuine. You can feel the weight of everything these two characters have been through, both together and apart. Seeing them reconnect after years of unresolved feelings was intense in the best way.
Aiden was such a layered character. On the surface he seems confident and successful, but underneath there is so much loneliness and vulnerability. Jay’s situation was just as heartbreaking, especially watching him struggle in a relationship that slowly chipped away at his sense of self.
What made the story really stand out was the emotional depth. Their reunion is messy, complicated, and full of tension, but it also feels incredibly real. The chemistry between them is strong, but the emotional healing they go through together is what makes the romance so satisfying.
Overall, Wrecked Over is a deeply emotional MM romance about second chances, healing, and finally claiming the love that never truly went away. I’m already excited to see where the rest of the series goes.

Summary
Wrecked Over follows Jay, trapped in a toxic relationship with Ray, and Aiden, his first love who reappears just as Jay’s life spirals into violence and despair. Both men carry scars from conservative Christian households and past heartbreak, but their reunion sparks a fragile hope for healing and reconnection.

Personal Reaction
This book is raw, devastating, and deeply emotional. The abuse is portrayed unflinchingly, making Jay’s journey toward freedom and therapy all the more powerful. What stood out most was Aiden’s unwavering devotion—his willingness to wait, to protect, and to rebuild friendship before romance. The pacing of their reconnection felt authentic, and the balance between heartbreak and hope gave the story its resonance.

Closing Impression
If you’re looking for a romance that doesn’t shy away from darkness but still delivers tenderness and healing, Wrecked Over is for you. It’s wrecked, yes—but radiant in its portrayal of survival, love, and cosmic devotion.
