Introducing Gotham’s most eligible bachelorettes…for at least a little while longer! First, there’s Catwoman, who’s been playing cat and mouse with her two favorite boy toys—Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight himself, Batman. Next up? Harley Quinn, who’s recently single and now committed only to her hot girl era. Of course, there’s also Poison Ivy, who just wants to enjoy her solitude…as long as her best friend Harley’s there to enjoy it with her. And then there’s the new girl, Black Canary, who’s engaged to the love of her life, Green Arrow—but the closer they get to the wedding day, the more it feels like they might not be so written in the stars after all. But these four fabulous women aren’t meeting to discuss any of that. At least, not willingly. There’s a killer on the loose in Gotham City—a killer of women. And when Black Canary realizes stopping the murders requires more criminal company than she’s used to keeping, she finds herself reluctantly teaming up with the infamous Gotham City Sirens for the hunt. Easier said than done when the four of them can barely make it through one lousy brunch… Fan-favorite writer Tini Howard (Catwoman, Harley Quinn) teams with superstar artist Babs Tarr (Batgirl) to bring you the sexiest and most scintillating DC Black Label series yet!
This was a seriously fun first issue. The story pulls you in quickly, but what really makes it work is the character chemistry. The interactions feel lively, natural, and packed with personality — exactly what you want from a Sirens book.
The banter and dynamics between the leads carry so much of the enjoyment here. It’s not just plot-driven; it’s energy-driven.
Babs Tarr’s artwork is gorgeous and expressive, perfectly matching the playful yet Black Label-edgy tone. A strong, stylish start that absolutely delivers on fun.

The girls of Gotham City have always been some of my favorites to read about, and it’s awesome to see them come together in this book that’s unapologetically by the girls, for the girls. As a woman, it’s not exactly a rare feeling to pick up a comic and feel like you were never meant to be reading it. Whether conscious or not, sometimes you can just tell that a book was written with an exclusively male audience in mind, and it can be quite alienating. I don’t know if this will land with the guys, but that’s okay. I was in the room when this series was announced, and I could tell that some of the guys around us in the crowd were (to put it nicely) confused or uninterested as Howard and Tarr excitedly shared the first peeks at this series with us, but it didn’t matter. This book was for us, the twentysomething girls dressed as the Birds of Prey toward the back of the room. It said, “we see you, and this is for you!” Immediately as the issue begins, Dinah, Selina, Harley and Ivy feel like longtime friends of mine, and we’ve got lots of gossip to catch up on over brunch. I love that each one of them has a distinct personality that shines through in their dialogue, and unique style showcased in the art. Each adventure feels like hanging out with the girls, but also doing super cool superhero/villain things. Even before this series was announced at NYCC, we saw Babs Tarr teasing this first cover at her booth day one, and we knew it had to be Sirens— but who would be the fourth inclusion? I wasn’t sure how Dinah would fit with the Sirens, but this issue works extensively to answer that question in a satisfying way. I love Dinah & Ollie, BatCat, and Harley & Ivy, so I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing these relationships take greater shape as the series goes on. I’ve been a fan of Babs Tarr’s art for years (I mean, of course, I’m a Barbara Batgirl fan), and it absolutely lives up to expectations here. It’s expressive, fun, dynamic, and fashionable. The girls truly feel full of life, assisted by the bright and pleasing colors by Miquel Muerto. The art suits the story perfectly. Well worth all the months I spent anticipating this one! Can’t wait for more. I was promised Maid of Honor Barbara and I’m looking forward to it.
Three Sirens of Gotham! They're naughty! The Sirens team-up with Superhero Black Canary (she's nice) to track down and stop a ritualist serial killer who has been targeting women!
There's a murder mystery to solve! Even better, the Black Canary's Superhero fiance, Green Arrow, plays a yet to be determined role in this tale, as a character in the background for now.
This is a well drawn, well written, and highly amusing (and entertaining) limited run series. I like it so far!
Pretty solid start, I especially love the art style and the murder mystery drawing them all together has me majorly intrigued. A mysterious figure is going around Gotham killing women during the month of their birthday and the only ones who seem to give a damn are none other than the Gotham city sirens, they are all “just girls from Gotham” after all and if they aren’t going to look after each other no one else will. The day started pretty normal, with Dinah meeting up with Selina Kyle for a lunch together with the secondary objective of getting some information on some mob guys she is tracking down…but Selina brought her own guests in the form of Harley and Ivy. After a bit of moral deliberation the group holds a women’s agreement to not bring up any of their secrets, ranging from Oliver’s billionaire hideaway as Ivy just can’t help herself to no mention of any criminal activity afoot or Canary won’t be able to help herself to stop them. Dinah gets a chance to show off the ring Ollie got for her to mark their engagement, it’s huge and ethically sourced but she has this sense that it doesn’t feel like her and the way she grew up. But as Dinah steps away to take a call from Ollie, the other three sirens perform an Irish goodbye leaving Dinah with the check as they have their own plans for tonight. Those plans include breaking into a business which has offered itself as a front for the mob, keeping a stash of money off to the side they pocket for the troubles. Catwoman sniffed out that safe like it was nothing and they could have been home free…if they didn’t hear the scream from outside. They ran down to the alley, money bags in hand, to find a dead girl on the ground with a blood ceremony effigy drawn around her. Turns out the scream was from Dinah using her powers as she caught up to them as she went on patrol after they ditched her and now she finds them over a dead woman. Clearly they had nothing to do with this but at the moment they care more about the money than the dead girl, making a quick escape and leaving Dinah to care for the girl and talk to the cops.
As a few days go by the story breaks and the three sirens who got away with the money can’t help but think about how badly they screwed up, sure the money is great but they should of been there to help that girl as well to bring her killer down. Then out all three of them used their own methods and histories to look into the girl and tear apart the medias “self infliction” story being passed around to lay blame on her instead. But that is one thing that bothers me about this issue…why is security so lax in this world?! Earlier in the mob front Harley was able to access the computer and just crack a few passwords like it was nothing, in that same respect both Harley and Ivy used their previous credentials and doctorates to sneak into the hospital where the girl was taken for examination and pull up her patient files from therapy. Are you kidding me?! Ivy breaking in makes some sense, but no one revoked Harley’s credentials?! HAHAHA, that’s really just my IT senses going off but the real kicker comes from Catwoman’s way of getting information…as she called batman for a quick make out sesh on a rooftop where he told her calendar man may be the cause behind the murders after another girl showed up dead last month on her birthday. But I really failed to frame that scene right as it’s actually hilarious the way they are making out and then batman pulls away with a hot breath to usher the words “Calendar man,” getting Catwoman to respond with “is that what you wanna call me tonight?” HAHAHA, so that’s not a new thing. But getting back to the point, it means there is a consistent thread to follow and a mark to keep their eyes on. Catwoman suggests going back to the lights club, the criminal world is small and they might be able to find a lead there.
Selina, Ivy, and Harley definitely find a lead alright, they just didn’t expect it to be the star singer for tonight…BLACK CANARY! She is way ahead of them, once she sees them she immediately went over to chew them out a bit for leaving with thousands in evidence, but they are all on the same page about that girl’s death and doing something about it. She booked a gig here to get easy access backstage but didn’t find much. Dinah has gotten so far because she works on the side of the cops but she is going to need their help as well to truly get justice. The sirens stay for the absolutely Rockin set, and then force Dinah to ditch Oliver as they refuse to work with someone who isn’t as cool as her and could tell Superman or anyone else of their activities. Ollie is a little distraught but he knows he will see her later. The first lead Dinah has from here is due to evidence she took from the crime scene, a matchbook leading back to the place the dead girl worked. They decided to go incognito, and found it to be quite a regular boys club except for one mysterious woman in the corner with quite a large hat who seems over interested in a waitresses birthday being today. Of course Harley is obsessed with the idea of getting a hot rich mommy but their attention shifts as calendar man and his bald terrible head tattoo glory walks in. They notice the birthday waitress is following him and his group to the VIP lounge (as apparently he has friends?) and the sirens suit up in a glorious fashion on the other rooftop to keep their eyes on him. But while watching him they suddenly hear a scream and a call for help! they rush into the parking garage where they find the waitress dread with the same blood sigil draw around her. Ivy notices it has 12 segments, like a calendar, and they leave Harley to watch the body as the others rush off to try and track down whoever did it. But there is no trace, there is only doubts about calendar man actually having any involvement, and the cops are on the way. Dinah decides to stay behind to talk to them to make sure the victim is treated with respect, while the rest of the sirens take off. As the issue comes to an end we discover the sirens are being watched by a mysterious white cloaked (also covered in blood) individual with a giant telescope, as they exclaim the sirens are too late to stop them from making this the most powerful hear yet. I’m assuming these blood sacrifices are channeling power into them or something? Absolutely catastrophically wonderful.

I love, love, LOVE the art style! It's so bold and colourful, with whimsical lines that have a lot of movement, and great facial expressions. I'm not much of a fashion person, but the ladies' outfits are all so uniquely them and they look fantastic.
I don't know what's been going on in the DC Universe lately, Joker just dumped Harley and she and Ivy are roommates but not a couple, Catwoman and Batman are into each other but not yet in love, and Dinah and Ollie have just gotten engaged. It also seems like Harley and Ivy don't have any relationship with the other heroes (they've never worked together before) and working with Dinah now is the first time the Sirens as a group have co-operated with heroes.
Is it just me, or is it weird that Ollie acts butthurt to Dinah that the Sirens are only willing to work with Dinah? It's not Dinah's fault, so why be a whiny baby at her about it? I would understand if he's concerned for Dinah's safety because he doesn't trust the Sirens, but he's just upset that he can't join too and guilts Dinah about it.
I love how thirsty and carefree Harley is. She's hilarious and so relatable. Selina is exactly how you'd imagine her - playful and teasing sometimes, and serious when it counts. Ivy is basically me - she's the group introvert who'd rather hang at home with her plants, but gets roped into things by her friends. And Dinah is the comparatively straight-laced hero who's learning to bend the rules a little for the sake of group harmony. Their dynamic as a team is delightful. There's a clear difference in personalities and values, and the good-natured teasing in relation to those differences, but at the end of the day, they're all here to protect the women of Gotham.
The storyline is cutesy and I was sold on the images and the characters, particularly the images of Selina! I was a bit annoyed by Black Canary at first but when have I ever not been? It's over the top in the right way...with a rom-com feel. Harley was dope and annoying at the same time. I loved how this was all about women heroes and villains coming together to support women in the city and how the men took a back seat. I'm definitely going to give this one the chance it deserves.
Very fun and very cute! The Sirens team up with Black Canary in order to make the streets of Gotham safer for women. We watch the new group slowly start to gain trust for each other. I know it's hard for a hero to trust villains and vice versa. But they can all come together for a bigger cause. I'm not usually one for superhero books, but I love the Sirens and I liked this a lot. A nice mystery, beautiful art, and plenty of cute and funny moments. Really good stuff so far.
SO GOOD! (The panel of Batman and Cat Woman making out 😏) I love the art style, it’s gorgeous and so cute. All four women have their own unique depiction while still keeping what makes their characters iconic. And I love how Black Canary and the Sirens want to protect women and are willing to team up even if they’re on different sides of the justice system (lowkey hope this ends with Canary joining the Sirens). Can’t wait for issue 2!

I'm in love with Babs Tarr's art! Obsessed with the way she draws Black Canary and Poison Ivy.
This was a fun read. I was expecting this story to focus mainly on the relationships between the Sirens, so I didn't think there would actually be a big murder mystery going on as well. I'm excited to see where that goes. I'm also excited for all the interpersonal relationship drama though. I am so here for all the Dinah/Ollie and BatCat shenanigans.
Big fan of the art style, I like the dynamics between the 4 ladies. Harley Quinn's bra is staying on with the magic of friendship. Black Canary looks cool. I worry about Catwoman's cleavage in that catsuit. Poison Ivy is low-key just standing emote but I hope she will talk and do more in the later issues. My theory is that the killer is Zodiac Master. I like female gaze Batman. Solid 4 stars, hoping the next issues will bring it up to a 5.
This comic was even better than expected. Just loved the whole she-bang. The writing is fabulous, builds suspense right away with lots of great art. The dynamic between the Sirens is amazing distrustful of Dinah, but yet realizing they need each other. The humor threaded throughout is great comic relief. Can't wait for book 2 I'm already sad its only four issues.
The art? Immaculate. The humor? Perfection. Dinah being a bad bitch and helping to solver a murder? Hell yeah. Dark skinned Selina Kyle?! Hell fucking yeah. Harley and Ivy being an adorable couple AND Harley is girl crazy?! Yes ma’am.
I absolutely adore the art style of this comic and the plot sucks you in quickly. I’m excited to know what’s gonna become of Dinah and Oliver, Batman and Catwoman, and hopefully Harley and Ivy. There were a few things that irked me, mainly with Harley. But mostly cause I thought it was kinda cringe. Which lowkey fits her character. Anyways great, I’m excited for the next issue!

2,75 IDK how to feel about this one honestly. I'll give it a 3 star so far and hope it gets better in issue 2. The idea is very good but some of the dialogue feels too juvenile and idk if I like the characterization.
We are off to a great start. The dialgoue is well written and reflects each character well. The art is bold and lively and expressive. The mystery is about someone that is murdering women on their birthdays. Very excited for more of this.
This definitely has a lot of potential. I enjoy the character dynamics a lot. The case definitely has potential too, but the humor isn't really working for me. I like the art, it's very cutesy.
I picked this up because wow, Babs Tarr's art style is so pretty! And it turns out the story is super fun! I'm so intrigued to see where this is gonna go!
