I've figured out what I don't like about this book. I started it months ago and couldn't stand it and picked it up again recently just to try again.

It portrays Worf as a weakling. His emotions are confusing and not like him at all, he's described as scared and 'squeaking' as he speaks. WORF DOES NOT SQUEAK

That's fine if he's concerned, but I don't think the personality is right at all and it's bothering me the way he's portrayed

Ancient Blood - Pretty good - even with Alexander in it
Armageddon Sky - Not my favourite - had a cool idea but poorly executed and ended up being kind of boring in my opinion
Her Klingon Soul - I quite enjoyed this one even with everything stacked against it - there's an enjoyable story here
Treaty's Law - (some reason my original review of this disappeared) I think this was the best part of this anthology. Here you learn where the Day of Honor came from and have a great story to go along with as it played out like an original episode of the series. You got to know some fun and interesting new characters like the crew of the Farragut and Dr. Rathbone. Definitely the highlight here.
Day of Honor - Finishing the Day of Honor novelization of the episode with the same name was interesting as I could evaluate the book as the book as I vaguely remember the episode. Usually I have novelizations of episodes and it's easy for me to remember how it all went down and look for the differences. I don't remember the Doctor's journey in the episode and I appreciate its addition. I also B'Elanna's backstory being fleshed out.
Honor Bound - Wasn't looking forward to this one as this was a Young Adult novel featuring Alexander - blech! I was on board with it for the most part however with it being a lesson on Klingon puberty and bullying but the ending was kind of contrived and stupid and made me think less of it because of that. Too bad really but it was hard to read with my eyes rolling so much.

This was a great Omnibus overall and was great to take a dive into Klingon-hood!

I read and reviewed the six Day of Honour novels collected in this brick of a book separately, so this is basically for my own records. On the whole it's pretty average: adventurous and fast-paced, and more than one of the novels here rushes their ending, which is a bit of a shame. Still, four of the six got three stars from me. As for the others: Ancient Blood was by far the worst of the lot. It got a grudging two stars from me, largely due to the absolutely idiotic plot with Picard and Alexander. Diane Carey is usually one of the Trek authors I enjoy most, but she missed the mark by a long way with this one.

At the other end of the scale is the four star Armageddon Sky by L.A. Graf, which is pretty damn good and the only one of the six that I'd ever bother to read again. I want my own copy of it, in fact - and half the reason that I keep recording books and reviews on sites like this one is that it allows me to make a note of the books I want to buy print copies of in the future. This was published way back when, so it'll likely have to be a secondhand copy at this point, but I still want it. Graf did a great job, and Armageddon Sky is the pick of the honourable litter.

The book consisted of six different stories dealing with the Day of Honor which was a Klingon holiday first started during Star Trek and Capt. James T. Kirk. One story takes place with crew of the Enterprise, 2 were based on Star Trek - Deep Space 9, 2 on Voyager and 1 on Enterprise 1701-D and the Next Generation.

Treaty's Law: 2/5

TV Episode: 5/5

Honor Bound: 4/5

6 stories exploring the idea of honour in various Star Trek cultures. I loved the way adventures from the different series (DS9, Voyager, TNG and original) were linked by an overriding theme. My favourite stories were 'Her Klingon Soul' and 'Honor Bound' because they dealt with internal struggles within people of 2 cultures (Klingon and human). All of the book was well-written and it was easy to imagine the characters from the TV series. The addition of pictures for the final story was nice.
