Eva Dresden writes dark romance that lives up to its name with every turn of the page. Her heroines are tragic and strong, her heroes are anything but, and tearing characters apart to see what makes them really tick is a favored past time.

I'm baaaack!

Edit: 1.5 stars rounded up — wow the last time I was here it was when Eva announced in her newsletter that she's quitting writing due to a long-term illness. She said goodbye to her readers & confirmed that Claimed will not be released. I’m relief that she’s okay & came back from her hiatus to finished & put out Claimed, but I do feel like this is a much softer version compare to her previous works. Honestly, I didn’t enjoy the heroine, just dumb, naive, & hopeless. I hate how the heroine misjudge the hero & constantly villainized him when he adores her, ugh, & I hate the miscommunication trope so much. I knew all along it was his bro from the get go who 🍇 her.

“I've been doing my best, but it's time to come to terms with things as they are.
I've been dealing with a long term illness. I don't really want to go into all the details (it's not cancer, promise!), but it's seriously affected my ability to work in general, and especially to write. I've been trying very hard to keep up with everything, but it's gotten to the point where I can't do so anymore.
What does this mean exactly? I'm afraid it means that I'm going to have to put this wonderful adventure back on the shelf. I can't in good conscience release Claimed.
I don't know if I'll ever be able to come back and pick it up, or if this is truly the end. Only time will tell.
Your love and support in the last five years has meant so very much to me. I cannot express how much every email and comment on social has meant to me, and your love of my words filled me with so much joy.
Hopefully this is not the end, but if it is, I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to have taken this journey with me.
Keep it dark and twisted,
Eva 🖤”

Not Quite... But Still Better Than Most

Not quite what I have come to expect from the divine, Eva Dresden. It lacked the rich character dynamics to me. This author's 4 star is still stellar in comparison. I am hopeful she'll bring her A game on the conclusion. Everything was just kinda half-baked....
The other thing that bothered me was the shortness, that's where things were lost, perhaps. Nobody was really developed until the cliffhanger...
Even the scenes didn't have the angst and intensity expected in Omegaverse. Just a little puzzled by the overall.
Editing was on point.

I genuinely love Eva and hope she keeps writing forever. Seriously, this lady is the queen of gritty, heart wrenching omegaverse stories, and I was/am so so excited she’s come out with a new series. ALSO she is in my prayers due to her health issue. The fact she came out with this in such a stressful time when she absolutely didn’t need to shows how talented she is. Hoping she is able to improve and maintain her health in the future <3.

Usually I’m not into the mafia genre, but I liked the idea here. It made a lot of sense once I realized this is taking place in the same universe as Omega’s Destruction. Seeing Tobias get mentioned was a nice little throwback. I’m also really happy this is strictly an MF couple and not MMF/MFM/reverse harem situation.

The second half of the book is where everything picked up steam (both plot and romance wise). Elena and Leon’s relationship and their personalities emerge a bit more. The issue is that the first half of the book read very mechanically and superficially. Like, Elena’s entire family, who aren’t good people, is murdered. Then her assistant/butler guy, who is arguably the only good man in the story, is fired and we never hear about him again. She also gets raped.

IMO, these are all incredibly heavy, traumatic events that should lead to…well, something *more* out of our MC. I think Eva did a great job doing this with Quinn, for example, but I didn’t feel the same depth/connection with Elena. With this lacking, it was difficult to get totally immersed in the story, even the strictly romantic, smutty parts.

I still think this was better than 99% of what’s being published in this niche nowadays (or for the past few years), though, and I feel Eva should have a WAY bigger following. She’s an incredible author. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series and hopeful we’ll have a more fleshed out experience reading about Elena and Leon.

How i have missed this world!

As all of Eva Dresden's books, it was an amazing Omegaverse read!
I absolutely love her writing and the way she writes her Alphas and Omegas is exactly how I want them.

I didn't feel like this book was as dark as her previous trilogies in this world, but it's definitely on the darker side.

For a while I was very unsure if this book was in the same world as Tobias Khaler and his Omega, but it turns out it is indeed! He doesn't have a guest appearance, at least not yet, but he is mentioned in a meeting, and this book takes place after his books as there is talk of how he's expanded his territories, so that gives a good timeline, i was happy with that.
I always like some indication of time when the books are in the same universe, even if they are not in the same cities, and the way things work in this book in regards to Omegas, is very different from Tobias' books and Alderbrook.

It's clear that in this city it's common to have more than one omega, kinda like a harem tbh, hehe, and they are extremely conservative and prim and proper, hehe.

Our MMC is not interested in that though. ;)

This book ends on a cliffhanger.
I can not wait for book two!
Bring on November!

Elena Costanzo may be a coveted Omega of refined breeding status to the world, but to her family, she is but a pawn to be used for the benefit of her family's power. No matter how much pain she has to endure privately, her family still provides protection from the outside world. But then her world explodes and everything changes in a blink of an eye. She needs to find a mate for protection, or learn how to survive in a world where Alphas rules with brutal and deadly force. Unfortunately, the one Alpha who keeps interfering in her life, Leon Marchetti, is the one Alpha she can't afford to trust.

Eva Dresden has created another captivating dark Omegaverse universe filled with mystery and intrigue. The chemistry between Elena and Leon is HOT despite both of their mutual dislike of one another. The Alpha and Omega dynamic pull between them is just too much to resist. And that cliffhanger! I have so many questions I need answers too! I can't wait to see what's in store for us in the next book! Really good start to the Claimed and Conquered series.

I have read every series this author has ever written and I always walk way oh so very satisfied and this book was no different.

I love her writing style as well in how she always portrays the alpha/omega connection in such a raw and soul connecting way.

In closing, Leon and Elena’s characters build their relationship and chemistry as the story unfolds and then boom💥! Let’s just say, Alphas rule.

This book ends in a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for Leon to go full out Alpha in the next book.

I have received this as an ARC and this is my honest review.

Eva Dresden has done it again. I’m happy for her. Unfortunately the story wasn’t as compelling as some of her previous books. There are some gruesome situations but there is hardly any emotion. Like the bodyguard who is dismissed after 4 years, no pining and no regrets. He is one of the only ones who is friendly and very close to the main character Elena and she doesn’t seem to give anything about him. 2,5 stars.

This is one of my go to authors. I love how she writes and her books are always so addicting. I could barely put this one down! Sucked in from the start to the finish. Loved the story and the characters!! And what a cliffhanger on this one. I know the wait will be worth it, because of who the author is, but it is so hard to be patient!
