This was a quick valentines novella. Drew put the grumpy in grumpy sunshine. And that man would do anything for Luv. A Valentine’s Day weekend getaway where any and everything went wrong. From lost luggage, falling off of mountains, and a bear. I was ready for these folks to get the hell up outta there. But they saw it through and it was worth it in the end. Super cute story.

Anything that could go wrong, went wrong on this trip. Worst ski resort ever. Loved that this was an already established couple. Chaptered Titles. The crying on Drew’s part was a little over the top for me.

It’s always weird reading grumpy men, but thank goodness it’s fiction, which makes me simply roll my eyes and move on. Lol!

Cute read though. And although Drew is grumpy half of the book, he’s also very protective. I love a protective lover… as long as it’s healthy and not a form of control and manipulation. So, this worked!

So many things went wrong on this little vacation, some that’ll make you chuckle, but in the end everything worked out and I loved that for Drew and Luv.

I wish that the book explored a little more on Drew and Luv’s father conflict, maybe even in a flashback. Or just a little backstory on Drew in general, he seems to be layered and complex.

P.S. The title is dope!

Drew took Luv to her dream vacation spot only for it to be a nightmare from hell. He planned to propose while on this vacations and everything that could go wrong went wrong. I mean it was a full blown disaster. That if they didn’t love each other the way they did they probably would have left that place single.

This was a cute, short read but it was a good time.

I don’t have anyone to talk about this with but this story was so sweet. I love the romance that brews between Drew and Luv and how no matter the obstacles thrown, it ended so happy. I’ll also love to highlight that there were a lot of things that happen in real life that made this so funny but yet so cute. A relationship built on trust and love.
It’s a short read but I loved it a lot.

I love a holiday themed novella.
This was such a cute and funny Valentine’s Day read.
Drew takes grumpy to the next level. But Luv was so sickeningly sweet she was the perfect balance for him.

I love when books are a train wreck that you cant look away from. Every single terrible thing that could happen, happened here. I was lowkey like damn universe let up off em.

This book was so funny

Drew 4 Luv is the kind of Valentine’s rom-com that makes you laugh, sigh, and clutch your heart all at once. Drew has the plan locked in: a dreamy getaway to Glacier Pines, romance turned all the way up, and a proposal that will seal forever. Simple… right?

Wrong.

From the moment they arrive, everything that can go sideways does. Mishaps stack up, someone may or may not got arrested, staff being yoked up and cussed out. Being snowed and not told about it. What was supposed to be a picture-perfect proposal trip quickly turns into a romantic disaster.

Luv is warmth, heart, and vulnerability wrapped in love, while Drew is guarded,still dealing with childhood trauma and he is afraid of rejection —he just didn’t plan for this proposal to be this so chaotic. Watching them navigate miscommunication, bad guts, doubt, and the pressure of feeling like he is not good enough. Their chemistry is undeniable, sex is spicy and he does not play about her.

A romantic getaway gone very wrong.....

Drew and Luv are so smitten with each other that they're willing to do,just about anything to make each other happy. Wanting to please his girl and make one of her wishes come true, he sets his feelings to the side about travelling to give her the perfect baecation at Glacier Pines Resort. Everything that could possibly go wrong on a vacation, just shy of death happened to them. Outside of wanting to surprise Luv with her dream vacay, he had something extra up his sleeve as well. Being extremely anxious, on top of everything else that's transpiring, he just can't seem to find the perfect moment. Determined to make the best of things, they decide to thug UT out until they just couldn't take it anymore. Drew and Luv's upbringing are completely night and day in comparison to each other's, and although he doesn't have a relationship with his parents, Luv is,super close to hers. Drew knows at some point that it may affect their relationship since her dad despises him for his daughter. With all of the odds stacked against them, along with this vacation from hell, what will be the outcome? Will they part ways to save each other the trouble? Or will their love persevere through it all? I highly recommend this novella to anyone that enjoys a spicy, hilarious, and a chaotic romance.

This started out ok but I was ready to dnf after chapter 5. I don’t know why but that chapter annoyed me. I stuck it out and finished it and by the end it wasn’t that bad.

The following are all the thoughts I had while reading this book so it may contains some spoilers:

Seems to me Luv is black but didn’t grow up black because we are not trying to rescue a damn deer from a big ass bear. Hell not even a mountain lion. Not even a coyote! 😂🙄

I was just about to say but Drew beat me to it!! Natural selection! I love animals but let the wild ones fend for themselves.

I forgot she worked at an animal clinic but this lets me know she should really know not to interact with wild animals.

After reading chapter 5 it has me questioning if I even want to continue reading this book. And it’s only a 90 page book. Idk it was just so stupid to me. Idk. I’ll read chapter 6 and see how I feel. I used to try and stick it out with books but now I don’t care as much. I’ll dnf a book asapually. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I guess they all can't be five stars. I admit, I was a bit disappointed with this book. Shay writes amazing stories, but this one just didn't quite do it for me. I wanted to like Drew but he was just so grumpy and snappy all the time, except for when it counted. How is he gonna cuss out the front desk for losing Luv's luggage, but let some weird cops take her in without first even hearing what she was being charged with? Make it make sense, sir! I also found the part where Luv was wrestling with a bear over a deer to be extremely unrealistic. Girl is a vet and doesn't know not to be fighting with a bear over its food...?

However, yall know I love Black love, and Drew loved the hell out of Luv and would do anything to keep her happy. This was a cute little valentine's day romance and I love that it ended with Drew and Luv married with their son, Zane

This book was hilarious! I was thoroughly entertained.

This is a new to me author and the first impression was everything!

Drew doesn't play about Luv and he would set shit off to make sure she was ok and Luv was just his sweet girl along for the ride having the time of her life. To be fair everything that could go wrong did go wrong but Luv tried to keep a positive attitude until she eventually got fed up.

To see her go from trying to calm Drew down to turning up herself had me dying of laughter all over again. This story was beautifully written and had me picturing everything like it was happening in real life.
This book would make a great movie especially the bear scene lol

Definitely a great Valentine's Day read.

I love love loved this book!!! Funny, sexy and felt so real! Drew and Luv are too cute!! They both had me laughing in this book! So many parts in this book were my fave. But Drew trying to save the deer from the bear. Drew telling her she is crazy and then she tells Drew to go save the deer. He knew she was crazy then! 😂😂😂😂 All Drew wanted to do was propose to his woman at the resort but everything that could go wrong went wrong and he was ready to burn Glacier pine down about his baby Drew! Even though they got into it and were mad at each other, love won! He proposed and it was in the most perfect imperfect way! At first I thought her dad had something to do with her getting arrested trying to make Drew look bad!! Lol! But they married now and have their son!

A romantic gesture turned disastrous

Drew and Luv had been together for 3yrs and Drew finally ready to take the leap and asked Luv to marry him.. he planned what he thought was the perfect vacation to a ski resort that Luv had been boasting about.. however once they got their it was like one disaster after another.. from her missing luggage, near death experience on the ski slope, being wrongly accused and taken to fake jail, a bear close enough to the cabin and mauled a baby deer, to food poisoning from sushi.. it was a lot.. then when he did propose, the ring had went missing.. but they recovered and drove to Vegas and got married.. then had a son Zane.. it was funny and cute

I had the pleasure of Beta reading this book and when I tell you that I absolutely enjoyed every page of it. I enjoyed every page of it!!! We meet an already established couple who are taking what’s supposed to be a nice Valentine’s Day baecation. But what ensues is nothing but pure shenanigans. This book had great pacing and flow. The characters were likable. It was spicy and HILARIOUS. There’s a scene that brought me to tears just envisioning it. But even with the spice and humor there was still a tender love story under it. Can two complete opposites really be what the other needs? My only critique…I loved them so much that I wanted the novel to be doubled in length.

Drew had one goal, and that was to give his girlfriend of 3 years, Luv, the Perfect dream vacation to a ski resort that has been on her Wishlist for a long time. He also plans to propose during this getaway. While this is out of his comfort zone, her happiness is his only priority, so he plans this trip down to a T, with a packed itinerary of fun things to do.

When they arrive, everything that could go wrong kept happening and puts Drew’s plans in jeopardy.

This was the perfect black romcom, grumpy + sunshine, I was laughing out loud throughout the book. Shay is so unserious and I love it. I love the way Shay continues to bring some freshness to black romance that I haven't read before. Drew was ready to snatch a few people up and don’t play about his Luv. She was the perfect sunshine to his grumpy.

cute and hilarious!

Drew had me cracking up with his short temper. But he was in the right a couple of times, especially when Luv was outside acting like she was one with the animals 😭. I wish I could leave a review on Glacier Pines for real, I’d find a way to give them negative stars. That place was a huge red flag before Drew and Luv even checked in.

And those 2 love birds were goin at it like rabbits omg 🤣. I love how they loved on each other even though everything that could go wrong did. I wonder if Luv gave up eating that gas station sushi..? 🤔

This was such a cute, fun read! Shay has a talent for turning even the most serious situations into something hilarious.
I lost it during the deer scene. I probably shouldn’t have been laughing, but I couldn’t help myself.

Drew was so determined to make sure his week with Luv was perfect, and it was sweet (and a little stressful!) watching him try to control every detail. Of course, the universe had other plans, which made everything even more entertaining.

Overall, their story had the perfect balance of fun, spice, and emotional depth when it really mattered. I had a good time reading this one!

Epic Valentines Read!

If you see me a winter wonderland with a bear, HELP THE BEAR 😂

This was nothing short of perfection, and you can’t tell me otherwise. It’s a novella that reads so perfectly in how it provides you with well rounded characters that you endear to immediately.

I was cackling until I was wheezing and crying in joy when it ended. If you want a quick read that’ll have you thinking love is real and spice so good your feet do ancient twists techniques, this is for you.

Just pick this book up, friend. You deserve it.

This novella was so cute and chaotic! This whole trip felt like “anything that can go wrong WILL,” and the calamity did NOT disappoint. 😅

Like always with Shay, the characterization is on point. Drew and Luv felt real from the start, and the way their personalities played off each other made every scene hit.

After what went down with that sushi, yeah… Drew is a good man fr. And listen, that deer scene?? I was NOT prepared! 😭

As much as they went through on this trip, Drew and Luv should NEVER drop 5 stars… but I’m happy to! 🤭

Loved it!

Happy Release day ! I absolutely loved it from beginning to end! Drew is grumpy sunshine for sure . He is only soft for Luv! They been together 3 years and he just wants their ski trip to be perfect and to make Luv happy but everything seems to be going wrong an Glacier Pines have the audacity to keep asking for a five star review lmao! Drew was crazy about Luv and he wanted to do anything to make her happy and when things didn't go as planned on their Valentine's Day getaway we saw him crash out behind her. She was definitely the calmer one of the two and used what she had to calm her man down iykyk. This story was laugh out loud funny, had spice, showed some vulnerabilities and insecurities with Drew's character and had a cute storyline. A well rounded novella that gave us a full story and I liked it.

(4.5) This was such a good little novella. If you love the Grumpy/Sunshine trope - this is for you.

This story is about (Drew x Luv). Drew tries to plan the perfect trip for them, and EVERYTHING that could go wrong simply does. Every time you think they’re going to get a break something else happens. As she wrote - they were definitely cha cha sliding on each other’s nerves after all the mayhem.

You get so many laughable moments which made the story even better. I enjoyed it!

It’s giving V-Day RomCom

Ma’am…when will these books transition into tv series? This was definitely like watching a romcom. You have a grumpy protagonist that loves his ray of sunshine so much that he’s ready to take the next step then a series of unfortunate events happen. I was completely enthralled. This was the palette cleanser I needed!

So many things was going on that I didn’t know if Drew was gonna get the “perfect” moment he was looking for. I love how obsessed and protective he is about Luv. They matched each other really well and I love to read about the man being the man to his girl. Allowing her to be her true self and loving every part of it. I really enjoyed this book.
