'Keith' is the sixth and final book of Kathi S. Barton's "Golden Streak" along with being the youngest son of the family. If you've been following this series then you know the Golden's have seemingly gone through he11 as each son found and brought his mate into the family. Keith seems to be paying an extraordinary price for his. The book starts off with Keith in a limousine with friends on a snowy road when someone deliberately rams the back of their vehicle several times, finally sending it careening down the embankment, eventually killing all but Keith. But he won't be safe for long. His life hangs in the balance from a large piece of glass that has embedded itself in his chest and he's bleeding out. Harley was walking home when she witnessed the entire thing. She saw the man was dying and still had to quickly weigh the pros and cons of helping him. She's from another realm and part of her banishment is to have no contact with anyone on Earth but she instantly recognized him as her mate and knew she couldn't let him die. The entire storyline and plot come full circle and so many secrets come out it had me gasping. This one takes the entire family and their mates along with Viktor's parents, the king and queen, Viktor, Peter, and a Faerie named Maven. The chemistry between our newest Hero and heroine, Keith and Harley is instantaneous and only grows stronger until it almost melted the screen to my kindle. This storyline kept me glued to the pages. I want more like this one!!!

As ending in a series goes, this one was good. All of the Golden males and even some of the side characters from this book have found or been reunited with their mates. I did knock this down from a 5 star rating for a couple reasons. First my biggest issue has to do with the matriarch of the Golden Streak. Given that all the other women prior are kickass women and have done questionable things in their past (especially Bronwyn), but she wanted to judge Harley for doing her job as a Guardian when she says she'll have to kill Dakamon, not just for what he did to her, but all his crimes committed in their realm. My other big problem was I don't understand why Dakamon was able to get away with so much. Even after Harley was exiled from their realm he still killed yet the father never knew??? I doubt that very much, so I guess I just don't understand why nobody ever stepped in before it got to the point of Harley having to step in and kill him.
All Harley Pennington was trying to do was a good deed and help the man who was dying after his limo had wrecked. She's lived centuries alone and living within the terms of her sentencing. But now the man she saved is claiming she's his mate and the meddling family seems determined to make sure she doesn't get away until they can figure out what happened to the youngest Golden. Nobody seems to understand that being mated to her is a death wish since part of her sentencing is her mate with her if she were to take him.
What can I say about another dynamic series by the talented Kathi S. Barton has come to a end and what a way to go. This book is the reason that people say, save the best for last. It starts off so action packed you are immediately pulled in and the words on the page holds you hostage anxiously anticipating what's going to happen next. Keith is the last of the Golden men needing to find his mate and he wants one just as strong as his sister-in-laws. What he get is Harley a woman just as strong if not stronger and more powerful than he expected. Harley was banished from her home and was told to lead a solitary life but all that changes when she saves Keith from dying. What I loved about Harley and Keith is they didn't beat around the bush, they knew what they had in each other and it was undeniable and the chemistry was explosive I had to take breaks. If you're familiar with this series then you also got a chance to check up on the the other delicious and tantalizing Golden boys and their mates as well. All in all this was a great conclusion to a extraordinary series and I'm sad to see it end but know that there will be many more exceptional series by the accomplished and creative Kathi.
The ending of all endings that tie things up in a nice big bow. Everything comes together in this last installment of the Golden Streak, the underlying mystery, the chance meetings, each couples mating and then some. Keith is saved from death by a mysterious women who just happens to be his mate. Harley has been banished to Earth for something she did not do and by saving Keith she has signed her death warrant. As kick-ass as the other mates are I still think that Harley is the biggest bad. Her first introduction to Bronwyn was hilarious and as scarey as the Golden men are, she is just scarier. The twists are brought to completion and the surprises are monumental. The storyline is filled with so much information that you will be sitting there going "No Way" and " OH My God" and probably some of "I did not see that coming". I have to give Ms. Barton praise for the way she brought this series to an end. I am sorry to see the characters go but I have hope we might get a sneak peak in the future of how things ended up. I can always hope.
This is the perfect end to this series. I loved reading about Keith and Harley; they are perfect for each other. Harley is a paranormal with a whole lot of extra to her. Being banished and all alone for so many years did not prepare Harley for being mated and being part of a big family. Things start out huge when Harley saves Keith's life. They get dangerous for the whole family before all the questions get answered. Everything is revealed at the end with several surprises no one expects. I loved reading this book, but it was a bittersweet experience. I knew this was the end of a series I had grown to love. Kathi S. Barton has done it again. I highly recommend the whole Golden Streak series!
This is the last story in this series & it has lots of surprises in it especially in the end after beating the bad guy. Keith & Harley's story is fast paced & exciting from the 1st page to the last; it also has the most matings in this because not only do Keith & Harley get mated but we find out that Peter, the vampire does have a mate & we find out what opp she is. This was an excellent ending to this excellent series. I highly recommend that you read this series from beginning to end as all of the matings are important to this story & why these men/tiger shifters meet the extraordinary strong women who are their mates. Thank you Kathi S. Barton for another excellent series.
Keith was out with some friends on their way to go home they was in accident everyone was dead except Keith but he was hurt bad . Harley see the wreck and stop to see if anyone was alive and try to help .. She found Keith and helped him ..
Harley was banished from a her realm to live a lonely life and then Keith happens which turns out they are mates ... I hate to give spoilers away This is the last book in series .. So sad Good bye to Golden Streak Series
Remember you can always download a chapter for free before buying it make sure it's something you would like to read .. Dark Fantasy with hot scene !!!!!!!!
I have read several of Kathi S. Barton's stories and am a big fan, but I do believe Keith's story is my new favorite. I love the interactions of all the characters, but especially between Harley and Bronwyn. Their first "meeting" was fantastic. Ms. Burton's female characters are always strong, independent women, instead of the typical "damsel in distress", which is one of the things I like most about her stories. In this story, I was glad to see how all the sub-plots were revealed and solved. It was a truly great story and series, as well as one I will enjoy reading again in the future.
What a strong ending for this series I am sad to see it coming to a end but maybe there is a future story that might come out of the future generation of the goldens well I for one are hoping and would read in a sec
I loved this read, it was totally amazing. Once I started I could not put it down and proceeded to finish it in one sitting. Kathi. S. Barton is an amazing author and I look forward to reading the next amazing book by her.
What a great ending for this series. the first book Ryland in this series was the first book of this author I had ever read. Then I had to read everything buy her. Sad to see this series end but I really loved this book.
In the interest of finishing the series, I read this. It will be the last I read by this author. WHat a confusing mess. Are editors that hard to come by?
Great ending to a Great series. Grabs you in from page one and doesn't let you go.As usual you have the alpha bossy Golden, reluctant kick ass mate to be,lots of erotic sex, not too bright bad guys and the whole Streak back together. I did not want this series to end but Kathi has done a fantastic job of saying good-by to a well loved family. You need to read these in order please.
