Follow Tiny Mouse through all kinds of weather in a delightful, interactive concept book by award-winning author-illustrator Petr Horacek.
Tiny Mouse loves nibbling corn in the sunshine. She loves the crackle of the leaves in the wind. She even loves the snowflakes when they tickle her nose. But when the rain starts to fall, Tiny Mouse runs for her hole. What will make her come out? Toddlers will love turning the wheel to discover the answer—a beautiful rainbow. A cheerful board book about different kinds of weather makes the perfect pick for rainy-day story time.

An adorable board book for young children. Tiny mouse experiences different weathers and there is a lovely surprise at the end. Recommended for the youngest of children.
A charming story of the little smiling mouse as it nibbles the wheat, watches the leaves blow, and moves about in the fields. It doesn't like the rain though and darts into one of many holes in the book. The mixed media artwork seems to make the mouse and other images jump off of the page. There are bold colors and well placed circles for the sun, moon, or mouse to peak through on some pages. The surprise rainbow at the end is not as dramatic as a pop up but the circular wheel on sturdy board within the back cover can help small hands to develop coordination skills.
Even though colors are not as bright, the mixed media illustrations are dazzling, especially the one depicting crunchy frost on cold night. There are two cut-out circles for the mouse to hide in his/her hole, and a turn the wheel at the end for the rainbow to come out after the rain.
A stellar selection for toddler time (though the book may be a little small for everyone to see. Have them scotch in close or make it a felt! There are lots of great sounds and weather conditions! The story is short and sweet with a rainbow wheel at the end!
Mouse delights in the change of seasons and the weather that comes with it. A rainbow shows up for a happy ending and adds interactive element to the board book by giving readers a chance to turn the wheel to bring the rainbow in and out of sight.
My 20 month old cried when he found out this book went back to the library. I mean, wow. He loved this book. It's perfect for his age group. Definitely on the list for Christmas.
