I really wanted to finish it. I liked the characters and I enjoy this authors stories, but this one felt like whole chunks were missing. The first kiss was mentioned, but that’s how we learned it happened. Mom tells us she could see how much her son liked Emma at the first meeting but that makes no sense because neither of them were truly interested yet.
They only go on one date and suddenly they are falling in love? I see tons of chemistry, but the words they are saying don’t match the tension. We need more time together, more relationship building, more Alex and Emma time, but instead it feels rushed.
Their fake relationship was meant to solve the issues their mothers were causing but when real feelings show up will Alex and Emma be able to part ways at the end of the contract. This story had me all caught up in their evolving relationship and how they worked through feelings from past relationships that left them guarded. It is well written with dramatic twists and turns from start to finish.
