When I met Caiden in book one, I instantly fell in love with him and was moved by his story. Leave to Lee to write a novella to allow my beloved Caiden to get his happily ever after with a soul hound with the most loyal heart ever. 😭❤️
I enjoyed the extra moments we got from Fate and Gethen, the sweet soulmate love story, and the gorgeous, romantic writing, as always. I’m so obsessed with this series and it just keeps getting more interesting!

Lee!! I’m supposed to be working! But instead I find myself hiding in my office finishing this great little novella and quickly writing my thoughts on it out. This was HOT and so so sweet. I knew I wanted Caiden’s story when I read Deaths Kiss and we got it. Caiden is so sweet and Soul is dark and broody except for Caiden - the he’s a total golden retriever who will do anything for him. This was a great short and spicy read that had all the feels along with it. Looking forward to the next in this series.

Hurt him? If he’d hurt him, I would have taken my chances fighting the bastard even in my human form. If he’d hurt him, I would have dragged him in pieces straight to Death’s feet - he was always looking for ways to get the missing pieces the emotion eaters were made from back into the Lake.

Soul’s Hunt by Lee McCormick is book 2.5 in the A Twisted Fate series. This novella follows Caiden, Cole’s twin who died in book 2, as he struggles to find his place. He doesn’t want to return to Death’s realm but he knows he doesn’t really belong on Earth. He meets Soul, one of Death’s hounds, who has been sent to bring him back. These two are drawn to each other and don’t really understand why. I love the author’s take on fate and soulmates here. The imagery of the red string that ties them together is magical. Caiden and Soul were such a sweet pair who truly needed each other. I am still looking forward to Gethin’s story and I want to know more about what is going on between Fate and Death. This was a very nice addition to the series!

This was a sweet read! I wanted to see what life was like for Caiden after reading Death’s Kiss and I was excited to get his story. I thought he was the sweetest human just trying to hold on for his brother and that sweetness continued in this book! The ways he and Soul were with one another was protective and adorable. I enjoyed their relationship dynamic and the way they supported each other. Even when they weren’t sure what they were looking for on their journey they kept going because it meant helping the other. This was a cute novella. I’m excited about the rest of the series!!

Another wonderful book by Lee McCormick. I was lucky enough to receive an ALC of Soul's Hunt,Narrated by Liam DiCosimo and Michael Gallagher. Both Narrators did an amazing job at bringing both characters to life. There was so much emotion in the delivery of this book. This whole series is something truly special. Words can’t do justice to the world and characters Lee manages to create.
I’m beyond happy we were given Caiden’s story. After Death’s Kiss, my heart ached & i cried for him, his life just seemed so unfair. It was beautiful to read his story. I absolutely loved Soul and Caiden & the bond they shared was special.
A beautiful story, beautiful characters will all the emotions.

Got the opportunity to read the ARC of this novella. I picked it up after falling for Caiden in Death's Kiss, and it did not disappoint.
Soul's Hunt follows Caiden, Cole's twin, who has wandered out of Death's domain as a lost soul. Soul, one of Death's Hounds, is sent to retrieve him. Simple enough premise — but the story that unfolds from it is anything but simple.
I had loved Caiden ever since he was introduced in Death's Kiss, but this novella made me fall for him completely. He is just such a pure soul — even in death, his first instinct is to think about others before himself. That quality never feels forced or over the top. It just feels like who he is.
When Soul finds him, he is stuck in his human form and unable to shift back into his hound form. And even though Soul is anything but human, Caiden doesn't hesitate to try and help him find a way back. That small detail says everything about who Caiden is.
Soul is drawn to Caiden the moment he sees him, and you completely understand why. His purity is magnetic. Soul makes the decision early on that he cannot hand Caiden over to Death, and from that point forward, he will do anything to protect him. The connection between the two feels instant but never rushed, you believe every step of it.
What I loved most about Soul is that you can feel the hound in him. He's strong, protective, and quietly intense — but there's also something wonderfully puppy-like about him. Think of a German Shepherd who would take on the world for you but secretly just wants to curl up beside you. That balance made him so endearing.
The moment that completely got me was when Caiden says he feels like he's floating lost in an abyss, and Soul tells him he can be his tether. That was it. I was gone for both of them.
They protect each other in their own ways, and that mutual care is what makes their relationship so lovely to read.
Also — Gethin deserves his own mention. He is sarcastic, sharp, and an absolute standout every time he appears. I cannot wait to get to his story.
Overall, Soul's Hunt is sweet like candy and completely heartwarming. I loved every bit of it.

Ok not to be dramatic or anything...but this book filled a hole in me I didn't know I had 🥹🥰 Caiden's story really broke my heart in Death's Kiss and I was so excited when I seen he was getting his own story and this was just everything I could have asked for 🥰

Now this story wasn't terribly dark but there are some heavy topics so just check those CWs before heading in 🖤 This is also set after Book 2 in the Twisted Fate Series and definitely needs to be read in order you can't just jump into this one 😬
We met Caiden in book 2 as Cole's twin brother who had died early in the book...but his death let him meet Sephtis the Reaper and direct Sephtis in a way to his soulmate Cole. Your heart really breaks for Caiden and Cole though as Cole's grief over loosing his brother is felt through the whole story. Caiden was supposed to go to Death's lake and wait to be reborn but he was called from the lake by something unknown when he wandered off to go find it Death sent one of his hounds after Caiden. Soul has never went against Death as one of his hounds but when he finds Caiden he just can't drag him back to the lake like he does with other lost souls and when Caiden meets Soul he knows he should be scared but he is drawn to Soul with that unknown feeling again. Now these two have to figure out this bond they have and also stay on the run from Death and the other hounds.
I know I already said it but this book was perfect 🥹 Soul and Caiden were perfect 🥰 The ending was PERFECT. This series just keeps breaking me apart to put me right back together in the best way!

Receiving the ARC for this novella was the perfect excuse to finally start this series and pull book 1 and 2 out of the TBR graveyard lol.
Caiden and Soul, the next fated mates in this world, and Death’s rules basically did not stand a chance the second they locked eyes. A death hound sent to collect what is lost just straight up decides his target is not a job anymore but something worth worshipping instead. Swooooon.
It is just pure instinct between them. No hesitation, no back and forth, just this immediate pull that neither of them questions for even a second.
Caiden deserved this so badly. After everything he’s endured in this world, seeing him met with something so protective and all consuming just fits. And Soul is completely gone for him in the most chaotic, devoted way. The way he shifts from purpose to obsession for Caiden is one of my favorite things here.
This series keeps giving us different versions of fated mates and I love that no two feel the same. Every book adds something new to the world, feeding us just enough crumbs to stay completely obsessed.
Little flower and his filthy puppy 🥺 I adore them so so much, by far my favorite couple in the series.
This was sweet, intense, a little unhinged, and exactly what I wanted and expected from Lee.

This was so sweet and fluffy!
Thankfully I didn't have a heart attack this time. Just sweet heart wrenching fluff, about a wayward soul who has never wanted anything for himself, get to want and have something that was just for himself.
Their dynamic was so sweet, despite being confused there was no fighting the bond, they let themselves fall freely, which was refreshing to see.
Also,the brothers really loved each other.
Caiden is too good for his own good. It is as if he owns all the softness in the world. He was so positive despite everything life threw at him. I am glad he got to be happy even if it was in the afterlife.
Soul, the big giant puppy. He was so confused all the time and couldn't understand why he was doing certain things. He was so cute and adorable. And God! That tongue! That tongue was definitely meant to worship Caiden.
Gethin coming to the rescue again in this book, at this point he is the guardian of all wayward soulmates that defied the order of the universe. Death really surprised me in this one, guess he is really able to feel emotions.
I have already said this in my previous review, Death and Aiden please. They will make a really good enemies to lovers.

Souls Hunt is the story of Cole’s (from the previous book, Death’s Kiss) twin brother, Caiden. Remember the scary death doggos in the previous books? Well, this time we meet Soul, Death’s hound, stuck in human form. Ghosty(?)-Caiden escapes the lake and Soul is sent to bring him back…however, after finding him and switching to human form, he can’t shift back into his natural state. Not only that, but it appears they’ve become tethered to each other, sending them on a small adventure to figure out how to fix the issues.
Along the way, we see Cole, Sephtis, Fate, Death, and of course, Gethin, much to his dismay. (Gethin is my spirit animal…spirit…spirit? Spirit…whatever, you know what I mean!)
This is a short but sweet novella, so the main plot dilemma wraps up quickly, which was a bit disappointing, but it is a novella, so it’s to be expected!

Oh I LOVED Caiden and Soul so damn much. After reading about Caiden in the previous book, and his beautiful but emotional part in his twin's love. I just knew this one was going to be an emotional journey.
Their story was so sweet and beautiful. Caiden lost and wandering, missing his brother, dead but not really dead, and Soul the death hound who has no idea what feelings are but is experiencing them ten fold now that he met Caiden.
It's a novella so things move pretty quick, but with them it felt right. I loved watching them realize their feelings, that they are soulmates and do everything that they can to make sure that they stay together for eternity. I mean, Soul was willing to be unmade to ensure he was able to stay with Caiden 😭 If my soulmate isn't willing to be completely unmade to stay with me, are they even really my soulmate??
Gethin is next and I reallllllllly hope, it's him, the sassy little assassin, Death AND Aiden. There is just so much damn tension between all of them when they are together.

This book absolutely stole my heart.
What started as an impromptu addition to the series ended up giving us so much depth, emotion and clarity to the world of the soul hounds and it's exactly the kind of novella that makes a series stronger.
Soul and Caiden completely consumed me. The way Caiden was given purpose and softness throughout this story felt so thoughtful and perfectly suited to his personality. Their connection was intense, tender, possessive, emotional and somehow unbelievably sweet all at once.
This may be a shorter story, but the emotional impact hit hard. From the soulmate tether, to the vulnerability, to Soul learning he was made for more than hunting… every moment added something meaningful to these characters and this world.
I loved that wr got more of an insight into Gething in preparation for his story - that got mr excited!
The atmosphere throughout this was gorgeous — flowers blooming in Death’s lands, threads of souls tethered together, warmth found in the coldest places… it was all so vivid and emotional.
Also Soul calling Caiden “little flower” may have permanently altered my brain chemistry.

I thought this book was great! The writing flowed beautifully as per usual with Lee's spectacular writing and the characters were just absolute sweethearts. Even the growling 'puppy'. I adored how even when these two were weary of each other and scared, (even though Soul will never admit that), they still knew they were safe with each other. I thought that was beautiful how their souls just knew.
I also enjoyed the banter between these two, it was funny and comedic at times, but this book did still have some heavy topics being discussed. I really appreciate when an author can balance seriousness with a bit of playfulness and can do it well, which is exactly what Lee did here.
We also got to see a certain Cupid again along with the resident grump who lives in the cemetery. I'm so curious about both of those characters that I hope one day we'll get their stories too!
While it is recommended to read this series in order for maximum enjoyment, I do think it's possible to read this as a standalone. However! You will be missing out on crucial information that's referenced within this story if you start with this book instead of the prior ones.

Ahh this is so good!! This is the 3rd (technically 2.5 as it’s a novella) installment of Lee’s a Twisted Fate series and it follows Caiden and Soul. This series is best read in order as you’ll be pretty lost with lot of the references and side characters without having read book 1+2. We meet Caiden in book one!
I feel like I can’t give a synopsis of this without giving too much away so I’m going to keep it short and sweet!
This is (darkly) romantic and sweet and very spicy! It’s faster paced because it’s short but a fantastic read nonetheless. We have Caiden who has already gone through so much and lost way too much. Then we have Soul, a being who has no idea how to feel but knows Caiden is something to protect, something to worship… and worship he does.
I ate this up so fast and it was a perfect read to carry us over until the next full length addition.
The spice was SPICYING here. The definition of “what that tongue do” 🥵 4/5 🌶️.

This is my first peek into this world and it was just perfect. I am new to monster/ fantasy but am a real sucker for the protective MMC and soulmates type tropes- and this was a homerun. A sweet 148 page novella that made my Sunday morning! Soul and Caiden had great chemistry and I totally bought into the storyline. There are so many passages that are just absolutely swoon-worthy!
"I'll fucking tear your skin off if you touch him." The feel of a strong arm wrapping around my waist and jerking me back knocked the breath from my lungs.... but that was okay. I felt completely safe, because I knew who it was.
"You're like coming home. I've never felt it before this. Before you."
"Soul...mmmfuck. Please. take us there. Together."
"Wow... so not only do I have a soulmate, but he is really just a big puppy huh?"
There are more. SO MANY MORE... but I don't want to spoil the storyline for you!
I look forward to reading more of this series!

Before reading this you definitely wanna read loves ace and deaths kiss SPECIALLY deaths kiss it will make more sense reading souls hunt!
I absolutely devoured this and it’s official soul and Caiden have my whole entire heart the precious boys they are. I so needed Caiden to get happy ending of his own after reading deaths kiss and I couldn’t have been happier reading this knowing he was gonna get it. Soul absolutely took my favorite spot he was so freaking cute he was certainly a lost puppy going through all he was feeling through out the book but him and Caiden were perfect together they would do anything for each other give everything up to be able to be by each others side for all of eternity! I loved nothing more than seeing gethin brought into the mix again I adore him so much it’s so funny everything he says and the way he’s like again??? Why am I the one everyone comes to for help 😂 but he’s always there to help anyway deep down he truly enjoys helping and I cannot wait for his book to come he deserves his time after helping everyone else!

This was such a cute novella. As soon as we met Caiden in Death’s Kiss, I knew I needed him to get his happy ending. He is just so sweet and loving, he deserved it so much. He definitely met his match with Soul, the biggest most loyal puppy you’ll ever met. They are just so sweet together. Despite the short length in book, they might be my favorite couple. They just gave me such good feelings the whole entire book!
With Soul I felt… I felt like I could look forward to tomorrow.
I can’t wait to see where the rest of this series goes. I love the world and can’t wait to discover more. I’m very excited for Stolen Wings because Gethin really does need his his happy ending. Though I’m afraid this man might have a stroke and die before he gets it with all the misfits he’s taking in and the stress of it all 😅

Soul should kill Caiden, the escaped soul, but he can’t, first he doesn’t want to, and second; after eating one of Caiden’s blue petals he’s not capable, because he can’t change back to the death hound he is. He feels the opposite of killing Caiden, he wants to protect him.
This big beast of death is very gentle with the little human ghost. Caiden is lost and Soul is too.

If you read Death Kiss you know about Caiden, it’s quite heartbreaking. Soul made all of it up; he’s head over heels for Caiden, he wants to protect him and please him. Oh boy did he please him!

This whole series has my heart and this one definitely didn’t disappoint me at all. I was so happy when I found it was going to be Caiden’s story because he deserved his happily ever after. I loved him in his brother’s book because he honestly made me cry from the moment he met his brother’s soulmate.
Caiden and Soul were just so perfect together. That spice scene in the abandoned restaurant was so spicy and it truly showed how gone these two were for one another.
I knew they were going to be so good together when Soul was like “he didn’t touch you, did he?” Like this man would burn the world for Caiden. I absolutely loved these two and I cannot wait for more and can’t wait to see what’s next!

Soul’s Hunt is a novella in the Twisted Fate universe. As usual, the characters and world are top notch. Lee has a way of creating unique stories within the dark romance world. Add in a twist of the paranormal, and I couldn’t put it down. While the story is short, it packs a punch. I found myself teary on more than one occasion. Caiden is such a precious character. You can’t help but want to hug him and hope he gets his own happy ever after. Soul is the perfect counterpart, the grumpy to his sunshine. The protector Caiden deserves. I loved seeing them connect and realize how intertwined they were with each other. Also loved getting to see Fate and Death again. And I can’t wait for Gethin’s story.

This novella was perfection. Soul and Caiden are everything you want from soulmates. They are sweet and tender and sexy with that growly possessiveness and complete love and adoration. The plot and world building are so good. I love this world so much. Well written, I’ve enjoyed every book in this series and I can’t wait to see what comes next in this world, because every pair of soulmates has been perfection. Book one fave is cupids, book two reapers and book three Death’s hounds and every time we get a new creature and their beautiful soulmates, we get a new twist to the story, a new facet to the world of soulmates where anything and everything is possible and happiness is achievable by everyone of you just have faith.

Absolute obsession!
I ate this Novella up so fast! I was so happy to see we were getting Caidens story because we got such a small but impactful glimpse of him in his brothers book.
