She has always had a love for books beginning with the Baby Sitter’s Club, R.L. Stine, and Christopher Pike. She dabbled in writing as she grew up but never took it as seriously as she should have.

Mel never disappoints!!! This was a really good read with “seasoned” characters who became lovers. Robert and Jubilae had a cute dynamic to their budding relationship. Robert finally had a real love and Jubilae found love again. They were a force together both in business and personal life.
Joy is my bestie, always with the shits and stay ready, lol. Whatever she thought, she said it…never held her tongue.
I like the way Mel brought Simonette and Dayan back into the mix. And they had a baby. Oh but for Robert find out Lanette was not his was diabolical, poor Simone…heck to hell with Simone, she got what she deserved. I love that Jubilae and her family stepped in and loved on Simonette and Rosa as if they were blood. As the saying goes, you don’t get to pick your relatives, but you have a choice as to who you consider “family”.

Such a cute story about finding love again later in life. Robert, a divorced CEO, was just trying to hire a new president for his company. Jubilae, widowed for years and still the boss she’s always been, steps into the role with confidence. And the moment she becomes President of Robert’s company, they both know they want to get to know each other beyond business. It’s a reminder that no matter your age, everyone deserves love, and it can find you when you least expect.

Jubilae Plate was an easy character to fall in love with. She had class, love, compassion, loyalty, and love of family. Jubilae suffered the loss of her husband (who provided and left her & Julius Jr well off) and Robert the CEO of a pharmaceutical company was a divorcee and had a trash-ass trifling wife.
Robert Bland was an easy character to love also, because of his grit for working himself to the top, integrity, loyalty, love of his daughter (Simonette), and standing on business when it came to his professional and personal business and the protection of Jubilae & his daughter.
Robert having no idea who he getting as President of his company until it was revealed, was ecstatic when a beautiful Black woman was revealed. I thought that it was an unique way, using this selection process, to get his new company President.
They blew into each other's lives unexpectedly. It's safe to say that they were smitten with each other at first sight. Liked how they navigated their budding relationship, keeping personal and professional separate.
The family dynamics were great! It was a beautiful union and blend of the two and their families. His daughter, Simonette, was in need of some maternal love, even though she was a grown woman. Her birth mother treated her like mud on the bottom of a shoe. She took right to Jubilae. Ju's sister, Joy, didn't play behind her. The ex found out the hard way, at the baby shower.
I truly enjoyed him checking his ex wife, Simone, and her daughter, Lanette, (the one he thought was his) at the start of this story. I was equally elated when he checked ole white boy vice president, who thought he could just be disrespectful and rude to Jubilae first, and continue with the insults to Mr CEO, regarding our people. Not that day. 🥰
This was a sexy and fun read with a touch of drama by his ex. The chemistry was fire 🔥 from start to finish. A grown mature couple.

An attractive cover, yup‼️Unfortunately, all down hill plus the MMC 💨 &💩for common sense🥴🤦🏾♀️‼️ AIN’T NO WAY, ….”WITA Maury Povich H”🥴⁉️ If you say so Mel Dau, however I’m done‼️Meanwhile, as recommended by the author Mel Dau, I read “F*ckin With Me” (3.75 ⭐️’s), immediately thereafter (hopefully for a plausible explanation for a man/mouse/father dereliction of his duties 👀) “Acquisition of Love: A Brand New - Love” (3.50 ⭐️’s), unless Mr. Brand was mental & physically incapacitated for over twenty, nah my brother NOPE 🙂↔️👋🏾✌🏿‼️That’s not cool, acceptable or entertainment‼️Zero tolerance or respect for Robert🤷🏾♀️🤬‼️
Ughhh 🤨, I’ve intentionally avoided reading Mel Dau books primarily because her storylines, although frequently humorous the MMC characters are messy, ethically objectionable, misogynistic, objectify women & now glorify abandonment of children 😤🤦🏾♀️🥴‼️
Now, the FMC (Simone 🙄) shares culpulbility in the demise of her/their marriage. However, once a parent always a parent‼️The (decades) neglect, emotional abuse & humiliation of her daughters, that’s criminal, irreparablely cruel, irresponsible, disrespectful & disturbing sociopathic behavior for a parent🤬🥴‼️Unfortunately, neither Robert nor Simone’s (their) end doesn’t justify their means. …I refuse to further subject myself to the toxic, juvenile & duplicitous antics of Ms. Dau’s books/plots/characters/storylines. This long game “my” long game too from Mel Dau catalog & or productions is my contribution to maintain my sanity, peace and the evolution of ethic pride❤️✊🏾🖤✊🏾💚‼️Duces ✌🏿‼️

Don’t you just love a mature love story? I absolutely loved this one.
Robert believed he was simply selecting a president when he chose Jubilae’s profile. Jubilae believed she was only stepping into a professional role when she accepted the position. What neither of them expected was that in his decision and her acceptance, they would both find love. And I adored watching it unfold.
There’s something so beautiful about grown love—intentional, steady, and rooted in respect. No games, just two people unexpectedly finding something real.
I also loved the way Jubilae loved on Simonette and Rissa. It showed her heart and depth beyond the romance. And listen… her sister Joy was a HOT mess 😂 but in true Mel Dau fashion, the shenanigans had me laughing out loud. One thing Mel Dau is going to do is give you humor right when you need it.
This story gave maturity, warmth, laughter, and heartfelt moments all wrapped into one

Mel, you did it again. "Your pen is bipolar" and I love it. Your characters are always so real and funny as hell. Who doesn't want a sister named Joy " Slap A Bitch With The Quickness". I am here for the foolery all day every day!!
And I absolutely love a story that is about the seasoned, grown and sexy folk. Those are my people because I am one of them. Like Jubilae, I am in menopause hell so I was feeling my girl when she said, " just because you reach a certain age don't mean things stop, you just have to readjust"...Preach girlfriend!!!
Robert was a catch, and the joke was definitely on Simone's trifling azz. Robert wasn't taking no shorts. Whelp, that's what you get when you don't appreciate what you got....I'm just saying. This was a fantastic read. I truly enjoyed it!!!

Robert and Jubilae!!
Jubilae was hired to be the president at Robert's company. He wanted her as soon as he laid eyes on her. Robert didn't care what other people thought about their relationship. He was very determined to make Jubilae his woman, and he did. Jubilae was the kind of woman that Robert deserved, and I was happy for him after what he went through with his ex-wife, Simone. Simone, and her daughter, Lanette, were awful. I was glad when Simone got what she deserved. I loved Robert's daughter, Simonette. Jubilae coming into Robert's life gave Simonette the mother's love that she needed and deserved. I enjoyed the family bonds that formed between the two families and the friends. They didn't play when it came to any of them. This mature love story was one that was delightful from the very first page.

We meet the Brand/Verse family in a previous book F*ckin’ with me, if you haven’t read it please read it before you read this book, it’s not really an continuation of that book but you will be introduced to Robert.
I absolutely loved Robert and Jubilae’s love story, it was fast paced, had some drama but showed how seasoned women and men can find love again. When Robert first saw Jubilae, he knew she was the one and she knew she was attracted to him and once they started spending time together, the rest was history.
You will not disappointed if you add this book to your TBR, so go ahead and do that!
One thing Mel can do is tell a story, so if you love a good story reading her books will never leave you disappointed!!

Yes...Yes.....✨️✨️✨️👍🏾Robert and Jubilae were everything. I was so sad when I learned of how Jubilae lost her husband I was heartbroken. It also showed how much he loved and cared for his family. Robert getting away from Simone was the best thing ever. I thought I loved Rissa ..Joy was the truth. Let's be clear Robert and Jubilae were correct..they were questioned due to their skin color. I loved how they stated it and handled all obstacles. I love the male bonding. Now Sim was a little much and needed to be home. Robert deserved Jubilae. He was a perfect fit and ahe was everything for him.The nerve of Simone and her trifling daughter. Yep, Kevin gave her what she needed.✨️✨️I was with Robert we are not posting anything. However, the delivery by Jubilae was priceless. Absolutely Love Love Loved it✨️✨️👍🏾💕

Boss to Boss
Robert was a Boss like no other. Him randomly selecting Jubilae as the President was just the beginning of a would be forever love. Jubilae experienced love from her late husband but she was focused on her career. The attraction was there when both Robert and Jubilae met one another on Jubilae’s first day as President. As their business relationship turned into something personal, they made it clear especially to HR and their lawyers that neither was going anywhere. I loved how Jubilae stepped in to provide Simonette motherly love and support being that her mom Simon was focused on the wrong things. Oh and JJ didn’t play about Jubilae as well as her sister, Joy. Mel Dau does it again…

Beautiful
I love this book. It was too short.
Robert and Jubilae story was beautiful.
It was sad in the beginning when Jubilae husband passed away. I didn't know how she was going to get through. I was so glad she had her parents, sister, and brother-n-law. I dont think she would have made it.
Then Robert life was crazy. I can't believe his ex did him like that. She didn't understand what it took to make it to the top. She had the nerve to get pregnant by his friend and cheat on him for most of their marriage. That was crazy.
I was glad when Robert met Jubilae. They were the right people for each other. Both of them are powerhouses.

I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. I had been rooting for Robert to get his chance at a real love once he decided to leave Simone’s trifling butt alone and I’m glad he found it with Jubilae. These two could have sworn off love with her being a widow and him having married a snake, but they didn’t and were able to find love when they least expected it. This was yet another good story by this author that had me chuckling and cheesing throughout.

You can NEVER go wrong with a love story, not just any love story, but one of MATURE LOVE!!!…
I loved me some Robert and Jubalie!!!…They handled merging their families so beautifully and the fact that Simonette was able to bond with Jubalie was icing on the cake!!!…To have another woman come in and love on you like you crave for your own mother is beautiful!!!…Julius Jr was also so amazing after learning about his mother’s new found love!!!…

Boss lovers!
Absolutely loved this mature love story. This story was well written, flowed well and kept my interest. Robert was a new black CEO that hired Jubilae, to be the president of the company. His new hiring practices allowed him to hire the best applicant for the position, therefore he had not seen her prior to his hiring her. She also happened to be black. They fell in love, got married and defied the negativity of the naysayers and flourished in business and love. Definitely worth reading.

They're older, but the love story still hits
This was a really good story about finding love again later in life after being married one before. This is the second book in the 'About You' series. We pick up with Robert who has ended his first marriage to a wench of a woman. We also meet Jubilae who is starting over and making a name for herself career wise. When these two meet, the attraction is there but there are professional boundaries that must be minded. I enjoyed seeing them navigate that aspect while establishing a healthly personal relationship.

Baby!! Mel really did her big one with this!! I love how she’s been getting into her more mature love stories. It’s never an age limit on finding your person. Jubilae had the pleasure of knowing a love so pure but Robert didn’t have such luck. His ex was a true waste of space smh Meeting Jubilae was everything he needed and more. I loved everything about this story from the representation of black love to black wealth!!

Seasoned Second Chance Love
Acquisition of Love gave exactly what it was supposed to…That grown up love❤️. First off I want to say that I love me some Robert..whew😮💨. As always Mel Dau bring the drama & laughs Robert knew who he wanted after athe way Simone & Lanette treated him & Simonnett they both got what they deserved now I will say it’s say it’s refreshing to read a book about a mature couple with no drama who can still get it in

Fabulous book
I found this book to be highly enjoyable. Robert and Jubilae are both exceptional individuals. Their lives each experienced unforeseen developments, yet they ultimately persevered. Just because they are older
Being a woman in my 40s and loving to read, I can appreciate and love a story about those of a certain age (40s, we need love too lol). Understanding love after loss and being a corporate girlie, I loved how Mel intertwined the two. Keep writing stories for us 🩷

This book is for the grown and sexy. By that I mean the maturity and the way Jubilae and Robert handled themselves in business and in life. When things got uncomfortable they educated the ignorant with class and action.

Second chance at love!!
Both Robert and Jubilae deserved a second chance at love and that was what they got. Robert was ready for happiness after being so miserable with the wrong woman. Jubilae lost the love of her life and didn't think she would find it again. They were both found their second chance at love! Loved this book!!

Grown and Sexy
This book was wonderful. This book is for the grown folks out here working hard and kids are grown. They can do anything they want. Robert and Jubilae were career oriented and sexually compatible with each other. I highly recommend this book. Another great one, Mel Dau.

Loved it!
Robert had been seriously hurt by his Ex Simone, Jubilae lost her first love in death. When they met there was instant attraction! This was a beautiful story of a second chance at love. So glad they found there's! Great read as usual from Mel Dau. So happy for the cameo's from The Verses! That Simonette and Lanette, boy!!!!
