Jackie DeKnock is a polite Canadian author, storyteller, and lifelong explorer who believes the best journeys unfold off the beaten path. After two decades in the airline industry and travels to 63 countries, she fell in love with global flavours and cultural connection. Time in Paris with a famous film star sparked her love of French and Moroccan cuisine and inspired her Gourmet Safari culinary adventures. Life’s close calls and challenges shaped her—today, she transforms crooked paths, rabbit holes and recipes into stories of grace, grit, resilience and just the right touch of magic. xo
I picked this book because it sounded interesting and tbh, it filled out a square on my book bingo, a memoir. But after struggling with it for 3 weeks, I just can't anymore. I absolutely LOVE her writing style, it's the content. I mean, a memoir that starts out in the womb???? Nope, not for me. It moves way too slow. 100 and some odd pages in and she's still a pre-teen!
