A grand opening. A dead body. And a teacup full of secrets.
When pompous antiques dealer Benedict Ashford ends up face-down in his Darjeeling, bookshop owner Junie Carmichael discovers that ambition and greed don't always pair well with afternoon tea.
Trouble is brewing in Thistleberry Point. The victim had plans to gentrify Harbor Street, and now he’s dead with a vintage tea canister as the smoking gun.
Armed with her clever, clue-sniffing companion, Edgar and sharp-tongued assistant Flo, Junie starts percolating through a list of suspects that’s anything but short and sweet.
There's a jilted ex-fiancée with a grudge steeped in bitterness, a high-society matriarch with secrets darker than Earl Grey, and a slippery lawyer whose money laundering scheme is about to boil over.
When the trail leads to a long-buried boat explosion and whispers of a police cover-up, Junie realizes this mystery won’t solve itself.
And if she doesn’t crack the case soon, she’ll be the next one in hot water.
Just finished this book, already read the first 3 but didn't realize there was a fourth. I am glad I found it and read it because it is a really good read. Junie Carmichael lives in a small town. People get along and are there to help if someone needs help. On this particular day Junie is sitting enjoying a coffee and trying to relax. She left her Bookstore in the hands of her assistant Flo as she just needed a break. She was surprised while she was sitting talking to her friend, the owner of the shop, this man comes along and interrupts their conversation by speaking to the other lady about offering to purchase her shop. After that little blurp she was informed as to who he was and the history of him. She also found out that he was planning to purchase all the shops on this street and make new ones that were all high end shops. Meetings were scheduled and the town heard the whole thing but Junie after thinking about it had a feeling that was not the whole story. Come along go grab this book and the first 3 if you have not read them and read what Junie and the police are having to sift through to not only help the town but a 15 year old mystery and a few new ones. Happy reading. Don't forget to check out the parrot, he is a hoot.
A Deadly Blend is a Superb story about Junie Carmichael and her Brilliant, Sleuthing, Parrot Edgar who owns a Bookshop her Assistant Flo and Hazel a Tea Shop owner. Someone comes back to town which starts a sequence of events that nobody expected. Junie with Edgar and her friends look into what happened and try to discover the truth. There are many twists and turns throughout the story. But can they find all the pieces to this puzzle? Excellent story and series that I have enjoyed reading very much and I highly recommend that you read.

My first but definitely not my last in the Junie Carmichael Cozy Mystery series. Engaging with so many twists and turns, red herrings, and intrigue.
When Benedict Ashford returns to Thistleberry Point and wants to gentrify their small town, the people he had wronged in the past are still holding a grudge. So, when he is found dead over a cup of tea, there is no shortage of suspect. Is it related to his own misdeeds, those of someone else who is hoping to keep their secrets, or a combination of both. Either way, the truth always comes out.

When the snobby Benedict Ashford returns to town to open his own antique business, he gets all the other shop owners upset with his plan to renovate the business district in to an historical destination shopping area. Shop owners like their town the way it is. They don't need rich people invading their town. He's also stirring old memories about someone who died in a boating accident and people are staring to wonder if it was an accident or murder. When Benedict is found dead they all wonder what he knew, and who wanted to shut him up before he told their secrets.
When old mysteries resurface and new secrets are uncovered things are getting complicated. An amazing cozy mystery set in a small town with wonderful smalltown charm and characters that support each other. A storyline that brings plenty of surprises will keep you guessing throughout. A really wonderful book to read and relax with.
