to be honest this was just not my cup of tea. I think its wrong to advertise something as romance or romantasy when one of the MCs doesnt live! then its more of a love tragedy to me. therefore I struggled through this book.

Our FMC sacrifices herself for her village to be taken to another realm and to serve there for a very unreliable amount of time. FMC is basically told to trust no one... everything is kind of confusing and I think there was some purpose to that but I don't know if it was executed well enough IMO to make the plot actually feel like its well written.

again, our MMC does not live to see the end of the book so that's a huge bummer for a romance reader like me. then our only true friend is the betrayer all along? that seemed so simple it was almost disappointing.

the advertising of this book really did it a disservice by calling it a romantasy and the plot fell flat for me and the romance was unfortunately underwhelming. not sure id continue this story moving forward.

pverall it just wasn't for me but I appreciate the ARC I received!

overall: 2/5 🌟
spice: .5/5 🌶
