Romance and the Apocalypse!?

I want to start by saying I could not stop reading this book.
I loved everything about this story. Do you like a slow burn romance? This is for you. Do you like apocalyptic, doomsday preparation? This is for you. How about small town drama? This is for you.
The FMC, Harper Bragg, is strong, opinionated, and has no filter. She is my favorite character by far. I love her courage and strength and confidence. I must add, I love the nod the author gives to the sport of softball. I love the game and seeing it highlighted in a story is satisfying.
Without giving too much of the story away, we follow the views of two characters. Harper and Cam. Cam has some significant trauma in his life and has vowed to not allow anyone close to him. That is until the looming threat of a deadly virus comes to fruition, making Covid look like child’s play.
This story had everything. I can’t wait for the next book!

This book absolutely swept me away from the very first page. It’s the perfect blend of romance, tension, and edge-of-your-seat suspense. Harper Bragg is such a compelling protagonist, strong yet vulnerable. and her return home feels emotionally raw and deeply relatable. The dynamic between her and Cameron Mason is electric; their chemistry practically leaps off the page, making every interaction intense, heartfelt, and impossible to ignore.

What really sets this story apart is how beautifully it balances a deeply personal love story with the looming sense of global chaos. The apocalyptic backdrop adds urgency and depth, raising the stakes not just for survival, but for trust, forgiveness, and second chances. And just when you think you know where things are going, the chilling, obsessive threat lurking in the shadows keeps you hooked and turning pages late into the night.
