Ruth May’s The Watcher’s Prey builds its suspense around a striking premise: seven abducted strangers forced to survive a 72-hour hunt while mercenaries track them down at the command of a shadowy mastermind known only as the Watcher.
At the center is Anna, a journalist whose career has been derailed by past trauma but whose investigative instincts may be her best chance of survival. As the countdown ticks away, she begins piecing together clues that could expose the Watcher’s hidden identity and the criminal network carrying out his orders.
I especially enjoyed the inventive concept and the constant pressure of the ticking clock. Readers who enjoy fast-paced thrillers built around a clever premise should find plenty to like here.
Wow what a page turner! I started reading and literally could not stop until I finished it! It was very well written and I guarantee once you pick it up you won't be able to put it down!
