Been hating everything I read lately am I over reading or what

Wow! This book was a challenge because I could not stand the boyfriend and his manipulation of Kendra. I cant understand the dynamics and why she stayed even with their history.
It was well written with the introduction of Preston and how Scott tainted that too. The dynamic of uncertainty and Kendra's life history was so heartbreaking. And of course the last kind of man she needed but ended up with was Scott. This book ends on a cliffhanger which I did not expect. Cannot wait for the next book to see how this story ends!!

I wasn't really sure about this story, but the longer I read the more I became invested. Kendra doesn't exactly have a great history of picking men. First Preston and the Scott , add that too her history it shows how easily manipulated she was. The story shows show complicated and heartbreaking her life is and how ending up with Scott was only making it worse. The cliffhanger at the end was unexpected and actually makes you want the next book to fully see how the story ends

It’s part of a series with an open ending . It definitely has trigger warnings
for abuse mentally and physically. And the blurb suggests it could have a happy ending which is not there. Kendra is in a relationship which is abusive but through her childhood she does not know any better, untill. I shouted out LEAVE!!! More than a few times. It is vividly written but the paste is slow.

What an addictive read. Kendra was so emotionally dependent on Scott that she felt she didn't deserve any better. She would do anything for him and he took full advantage. Such a messed up couple. I am looking forward to the next book, hopefully we will get Preston's POV and his full story. I was given an ARC via Booksprout and am leaving this review voluntarily.
