Sergeant Jeremiah Abbner died in the line of duty serving his country. Or at least that's what the newspapers said...
The US Government handed him a new identity, and strict orders not to make contact with anyone from his past. As far as society was concerned Sergeant Jeremiah Abbner was dead, and buried six feet under.
Not having contact with his ex-wife would be easy. She was a manipulator and a cheater.
Not seeing his daughter on the other hand would devastate him...
Beau Morgan, aka Jeremiah, settles down in a town far away from everything he's ever known. Coping with the trauma he's experienced and discovering a new life Beau finds himself the most aggressive he's ever been. His blood simmers with rage while his fists are thirsty to let it all out .
In the middle of his own living hell he never expected to run into an old familiar face. And to top it off, one who recognized him as Jeremiah.
He's vowed never to love again, but as circumstances land him in the arms of a woman, Jenni Lee, this time he may not have a choice, as she rarely takes no for an answer.
Can Beau Morgan control his temper long enough to settle into his new life? Or will resentment taint him forever?

USA Today Best Selling Author, HJ Bellus is a small town girl who loves the art of storytelling. When not making readers laugh or cry, she's a part-time livestock wrangler that can be found in the middle of Idaho, shot gunning a beer while listening to some Miranda Lambert on her Beats and rocking out in her boots.
Yawn. It was strange. They are both pretty f'ed up. And it was just weird. Beau acted like a jerk and she let him come back with no explanation. Not a big fan of pushovers.
HJ has done it again!!!! This series just keeps getting better and better!! Her Soldier had my emotions all over the place!! I laughed, I cried and at times was ready to go shake the crap out of someone. Beau and Jenni together was absolutely amazing and beautiful. After reading that little clip at the end of book 2 I was dying to get my hands on Jenni's book to find out her story. She was so broken!! I just wanted her to find happiness and get a HEA!!
We first meet Jeremiah in book 1 "That Girl". You find out he was killed in the line of duty serving his country.....or at least thats what the newpaper article said. Now he goes by the name Beau Morgan, given to him for protection but why? His story will break your heart, trust me!!

We briefly meet Jeremiah Abbner in "That Girl (That Girl #1)" and according to newspapers he had died in the line of duty serving his country.
Meet Beau Morgan, a.k.a. Jeremiah who was given a new name to be protected from the mission he completed while in service. A new identity meant a new life away from what he has always known. No contact with familiar faces as well as his only daughter. A tortured soul where he is felt limited in what he can do in his new life.
While working a catering job one night he encounters a women who recognizes him and another women, Jenni Lee in an ugly physical argument with her on and off again boyfriend and steps in to help. Little did he know that saving her would change his world.
”Jenni, I can’t have a life with you, or anyone. You make me feel things I shouldn’t. I never should’ve told you what I just did.” His head drops until it’s resting on the white paint of the wall. ”I feel alive again with you, and I don’t deserve that.”
Seeking to take care of Jenni until she is back on her feet and away from looming trouble by the ex, feelings begin to grow and avoiding his past begins to be a challenge. To top it off, Jenni happens to be best friends with the woman that recognizes his old identity. Having a relationship with someone is not an option but the heart wants what the heart wants. The question is whether it is worth risking for more?
”I just want you to know that you can be Beau with me, and Jeremiah. I want you to be you when you are with me and nothing else. I never want you to be anything else.”
Beau & Jenni’s story had many raw moments that were at times gut wrenching but heartwarming at the same time. They will have you wanting to seek a happily ever after no matter what it would take but the challenge they face is actually getting there. This is my favorite must read book out of the series so far! ~ Cristina, 5 stars.
*************************
This is the third book in the H.J. Bellus That Girl Series and I have to say I think this could be my personal favorite. We previously met Jeremiah in "That Girl (That Girl #1)" when he had a brief encounter with Michelle at his Grandmother's bakery. Straight away we know he's kind hearted and very swoon worthy. I think my heart almost exploded when he was killed.
Reinvented as Beau Morgan he meets Jenni at Levi's and Jazzy's wedding. Cowering in a corner, she's being physically assaulted by her on again, off again boyfriend, Maxon. Beau saves her life by swooping in and giving Maxon a taste of his own medicine. This is where the journey begins for beautiful Jenni and hero Beau. We learn that everything isn't always what it seems and beauty isn't just skin deep. This book totally changed my opinion of Jenni and her "blonde bimbo" image. She emerges stronger than ever with a persona unknown to even herself.
She helps Beau deal with his demons and in turn deals with her own. This is a compelling love story that's raw and very emotional at times. H.J. Bellus truly brings everything to the table with this tale. I was literally left clenching tissues at the end. Simply put I would highly recommend this story and I'm highly anticipating "The End" novella. ~ Joanna, 5 stars.
Beau Morgan is the new identity that was given to Jeremiah Abbner; as far as everyone else is concerned he's dead...or at least, is supposed to be. Beau can't contact anyone from his past so he moves to a new place to start a new life, yet he still has a strong connection that keeps him looking out for his loved ones…his little girl. Hard as he tries, Beau still has nightmares of what he's had to endure and because of that he knows he's no good for anyone else.
Jenni Lee lives life on the edge, with no barriers, so when she gets in a predicament, her close friends can't help but chastise her because of her reckless attitude and choices. The night she meets Beau was the night she made one of her countless bad mistakes and it almost cost her life. Beau comes to Jenni's rescue, and I have to say, he had me swooning by the way he took care of Jenni.
Both Beau and Jenni have issues they have to deal with, but hard as they try to forget them, it's impossible. Because of that, it's hard for them to fully trust each other. They do have an "insta-love" connection, but Beau is cautious due to his past, yet Jenni keeps drawing him in.
When I read about Jenni's back story, my heart went out to her and I realized the reason she acted out was due to her past. Now, there's a very emotional part that had me crying and wishing I could comfort Jenni, yet at the same time it sobered her up and made her realize a couple of things...
This is an emotional story that had me cringing, laughing, face palming and swooning. I know I'm greedy but I want more because I want to know what happens with what Beau has decided to do... ~ Kara, 4.5 stars
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, grief, pain, abuse, secret and heartbreak.
This is Jenni and Beau’s story. Beau recuses Jenni from an attack and takes her into his home to heal. They grow close during the time and fall into a relationship but Jenni still needs to deal with her ex. Beau needs to deal with his past and tell Jenni all his secrets. But before they can move forward with their relationship Beau’s past needs to be dealt with. When Beau pushes Jenni away and she goes home to more devastation she wonders what she has left. Can Jenni and Beau work together to heal and regrow the relationship they worked so hard to build before? Will Jenni’s love be able to heal her soldier?
I loved these characters and also the side characters. There are some tear filled moments and some anger filled moments in this story. But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
There were quite a lot of ups and downs in this book. Drama seems to find Jenni at every turn and when it finds her in front of Beau, he refuses to turn away. After Beau saves her from the lunatic ex-boyfriend who is literally beating the shit out of her, he takes her in and takes care of her. It seemed to move a bit fast for me, but if you’re into InstaLove, then you must read this ASAP.
As Jenni recovers she begins to find out a bit more about Beau (who’s really Jeremiah) who suffers from PTSD. I sometimes get uncomfortable when reading about military PTSD since I have some personal experience on the issue, but I actually felt that the author handled it and portrayed it really well in this book. Beau clearly has some issues that he’s trying to work through and he isn’t sure he can deal with those AND his newfound feelings for Jenni. Regardless, he plans to protect her from anything and everyone who could hurt her.
However, when things in his old life resurface, the life he thought he was building spirals out of control. Jenni’s life soon spirals as well – in a different direction – and they both are left wondering if their InstaLove can be the foundation to a life time love. Jenni confused the hell out of me sometimes and I felt that she was a bit immature. Maybe that’s due to her age, or just the way that she was portrayed, but she wasn’t my favorite female lead. However, there’s enough action and sweet words to make you ultimately like both characters – oh, and Beau is DELICIOUS. 3.5 star read!
I was given the opportunity to beta read this book. I Loved it! I started this book with a vague dislike of Jenni. In the other books she was painted as a bit of a superficial air head. As I read this book though, my opinion was completely changed. I loved Jeremiah from the first book and kind of wanted to throat punch my dear HJ Bellus when she killed him off. It was amazing to see this tortured side of him develop through this story line. This book is a definite win in my opinion. I am sooooo happy that Jeremiah is alive and well and so happy to see the love story that he deserves:)

I was given a copy from the author for an honest review. I have been looking forward to Jenni's story for a while now and I have to say I was not let down! The storyline was so well written it captures your attention from the very beginning. The emotions that I felt while reading this story was so overwhelming. I was smiling, laughing one minute, gut wrenching crying the next. The pain that Beau is going threw breaks my heart. I couldn't have been more happier when he met Jenni. Two broken people healing one another. The chemistry between the two was so beautiful! I loved every minute of this book! 5 stars
Her Soldier is a story that is heart wrenching and heart warming all in one. Two people shattered by circumstances are brought together. Beau and Jenni both crave love and as they find their way, judgements are made, pasts are brought to life and their worlds are shattered. Their story broke me, made me ugly cry and healed me in one emotional roller coaster. A journey that takes you through the darkness and carries you into the light. That Girl series ends with this book and as sad as I am that it is over, it has been a pleasure to get to know these characters and their stories.
This one felt a little rushed to me. Everything was tied up quickly without any issues or consequences. I wanted more of an explanation on why Beau pushed Jenni away and also on how he is able to adopt now. I don't feel like everything was explained.
Even still, this story did make me cry and I love that Beau got his girl in the end.
*** Gifted by the Author for an honest review, and as part of the Release Tour on my blog***
I have been following H.J. Bellus since I promoted The My Way Series and the synopsis of the first book of the series just had me hooked to her storytelling, and I am still trying to find time to read that darn book! (sorry Heidi - I am so swamped on the blog that my personal reading list gets neglected and Yep That Girlwas also on my TBR!
So since I had signed up for the release blitz for the 3rd book in That Girl Series,Her SoldierI made sure I had time to read this book... and OH BOY - I knew that I was right to help promote this lady, Reading this book first I think has actually given me more of a perspective of the characters, so in a way I am glad I was swamped, and also that I was so hooked by these characters - I ignored my blog review diary and started That Girl straight after this book, as I just wasn't ready to forget these characters and their journeys to find their HEA.
So what did I think to HER SOLDIER... BUY IT - its Freeking awesome, from start to finish Ms Bellus hooked me with our lovely broken soldier 'Beau Morgan' AKA Jeremiah Abbner and the glitzy Jenni whom he rescues one night.
As they try to deal with their past and their obvious attraction we join them for an emotional roller coaster - and Yep the hankies were out in force a few times in this book, at one point I wanted to bash this broken soldier in the head, and maybe the Author for then twisting the knife a bit more in my heart as I read.
BUT I can't be too mad with Ms Bellus, after all isn't that why we book addicts read - TO FEEL - To Go along on the ride as these fictional characters find love, loss or redemption?? Well that's why can't give up reading or watching movies & TV for that matter - I love it, and long may I continue to be a dreamer, to escape from reality whenever possible, and may all the talented people who create these escapes continue to do so!
I hope from my ramblings I have given you enough without spoiling the ride, I HATE SPOILER REVIEWS! And I love that I read this book without any clue to what was going on... it made it all the more real as this pair of unlikely soul-mates healed their hearts together.
I must say its not often that an author can write a series that has a set of characters that are linked but that which each book can be read in any order but honestly I think me reading book 3 then book 1 was no issue at all, and I know that I really want to know how Linc finds love in 'The Game' so i will be up till the wee hours trying to get a window where I can fit it in, and then make time for Cree and the boys, and the rest of Ms Bellus back collection!
So let me start by saying I suck and I somehow did not read The Game yet , I know I know , I promise the second I have free time I plan to grab it and devour it !! I did however read That Girl and I loved it , I don't even think I read the synop or even knew Her Soldier was part of the series I just signed on because it was HJ Bellus and I had time and it was a no brainer !! So immediately I was like OMG Michelle , Lynlee and JEREMIAH !! I was not happy when he was killed in book 1 so this was such a happy happy thing !! Of course we won't talk about Jeremiah we will just say Beau. Anyhow...brief strange run in sets the stage for the mystery that surrounds Beau Morgan , his past and even a bit of Lynlee's if you have yet to read her story. Beau's run in with his past sends him outside for a bit of a breather when he finds himself in a position to step in a save someone from a hideous assault. Jenni , poor Jenni , her unhealthy relationship with Maxon now has her at the lowest of lows. Being saved and cared for by a stranger , being pushed aside by friends but feeling empowered by the way Beau makes her feel. It may have been a fast paced story but it was beautiful to see Jenni happy and go for what she wanted. Is this new found fast love enough to save these two battered souls or will their pasts prevent them from having a future ?
Obviously Beau has some things he is hiding , not because he is deceitful but because he has to. He has been made to change his life and move on without ever looking back. Leaving loved ones friends and whoever behind. Beyond that he was screwed over by his past so now not only does he struggle with being a new person but he never wants to feel that pain or loss again. This meaning he doesn't do the love thing. But here he finds himself saving and caring for a stranger , taking her in and very quickly becoming taken by her. His true alpha male comes out and boy it is hot as sin but also frustrating. Jenni finds herself trusting Beau and being comfortable with him , so much so that she is blowing off her friends and family staying with him while she heals. At the time her friends do seem kind of selfish but I don't get why she doesn't tell them about Maxon. Jenni quickly heals and her and Beau become a couple. They have scorching chemistry and this crazy amount of emotion that came about so quick. The story is full of ups and downs. Secrets come out and things get dangerous. Heartache takes over as does fear. Beau begins to doubt everything and sends Jenni running. The rollercoaster only gets more intense here and I swear I was ready to yell and scream at my ipod !! By some miracle Beau and Jenni are face to face again. Major decisions have to be made. The only thing clear to them both is that they love each other. But again will that be enough to get them through these new challenges ??
LOVE THIS STORY - totally want more about them !! That concludes my rambling review of why this is a MUST READ !!
★✩★✩★5-Second Chance Stars★✩★✩★ *Copy provided by the author in exchanged for an honest review*
Once upon a time, there was one soldier had to endure so much pain that he had to hide away from the family he once knew. Even when death came, he could not reveal his new identity for him to comfort his family. It's one experience I would not be able to rise above from.
Beau Morgan, aka Jeremiah, finally finds a town where he can stay, far away from everything so he would not be reminded everyday about his past. Trying to fight the traumatic experience the best way he possibly can but his anger is just off the wall. He wants rage to just pour out of him but can't. He has to try to control the voices in his head that tells him to rebel, to let out what's eating him alive. The demons that's out of control might be stopped by the one thing he vowed to never have. What do you do when you want something that's bad for you could may just be what's truly good for you? The one thing that will keep your demons away? Jenni may be pushed away from Beau but she will stop at nothing when it comes to what she wants.
Jenni has been through hell and back. Abused by her ex-boyfriend and almost ended her life from the beating. Being rescued by this one hot guy, was what she never expected. She knew she wants her hero, wants him bad. Being judged by her friends with her not so smart decisions, was something she did not want to happen. Falling for Beau was a hard bargain. It's a lot of work, but she's willing to make it work and the same goes with Beau. Secrets that may push each other away has to be revealed to save the relationship they are trying to have. But will their love for each other be enough to surpass the demons they both have been fighting to survive their day to day life?
She's one of my favorite authors and I have read almost all her books and loved them all. Read this one heartbreaking, love story and you will not be disappointed. I love you and your characters, Heidi!
Let me start by saying I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, but this book just didn't do anything for me. The story had a decent plot but just wasn't executed well.
• There were many inconsistencies in the book, like Jenni's broken arm. During and after the attack several injuries are described but nothing is ever said about a her arm being hurt. Then she leaves the hospital in a cast but days later she is doing things no one can or should be doing. I guess I can understand because really how sexy would it be to start out shower sex with "let me just put this bag over your arm first". And what hospital lets someone go with her injuries after a few hours and with a total stranger no less. And if the government was so determined to erase Jeremiah, why does Beau have his dog tags and classified documents? And Beau tells Jenni that he can't talk about his past but then give her a file explaining everything.
• Then there was the insta-love. I know some people like this style but for me it just doesn't make sense.
• Jenni's aunt is found dead after a report of "suspicious activity". Okay, well what was suspicious and how did she die? Why even bother putting that line in there if you aren't going to explain it?
• Who was the editor and did they really get paid for that? Usually errors don't bother me too much, but with the rest of my issues with this book I just couldn't over look them this time.
I really had high hopes for this book since I have enjoyed everything else I have read by this author. I feel like this was a hastily written book just to end the series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I m huge fan of the That Girl Series. I loved the first two books, both made my top 10 books of 2014. I couldn't wait for the next addition to the series. I really did enjoy Her Soldier, it wasn't my favorite in the series but it was a perfect addition. This is a highly emotional read from the very beginning until the very end. My heart broke for the characters on more than one occasion.
We met both Beau and Jenni in the first book of the series, so I was so excited they were getting their own book. Both are broken and are still even in the end putting the pieces of their lives back together. I would have loved to have gotten into Beau's head and heard his side of the story. Things develop quickly for the two and definitely turn hot.
Overall Beau and Jenni's story was very powerful and about two broken people coming together and loving each other for who they are cracks and all. My only complaints were that things felt sort of rushed and that the ending was so abrupt. I'm so glad I got to experience and fall in love with all of the characters in the That Girl Series and look forward to more from HJ Bellus, she is an amazing author who writes characters you can't help but love.
"I'm not sure I deserve to be saved." "Don't you ever say that...I'd do it all over again."
So many emotions!!
I knew reading their story would be an adventure. Wow, it was! The connection between Beau and Jenni was amazingly beautiful. I'm so happy to finally read Jenni's story. I knew there was always something behind her personality.
So many levels of love and loss are found in this book!
"I shouldn't be doing this." "I shouldn't be letting you do this. But there's nothing else in this world I'd rather be doing."
Beau broke my freaking heart!! His inner struggle was intense. It's amazing how much he went through in just a few short years.
Also, I loved how the friendships are tested between everyone in this series. Beau and Jenni aren't the only ones that struggle with their relationship. You see how events can shift even the strongest of bonds.
Another hit for HJ Bellus!!!
"I want to lie with him forever, covering me, protecting all of me. It's my place in life, and my mind eases a bit knowing I've finally found home."
Beau Morgan was such a great character, yes he has a lot of things to work through but he was the perfect balance for Jenni Lee. Jenni is sweet and tries to see the best in everyone but seemed to keep picking the wrong men. When Beau comes across Jenni trying to get away from her latest bad choice he steps up and takes care of her above and beyond. The chemistry between the two of them from the very beginning was startling. Jenni has so many questions about Beau and his past but is scared to find out the answers. Beau is haunted by what he can not share with her but can not let her go either. The balance between their pasts and the present make the future a challenge. They were so great together and I kept my fingers crossed that they would find their way through the challenges. This is my first book by H.J. Bellus but I plan on going back to read the first two books. I don't think you have to have read the first two to read this one but I am curious about the stories of Lynlee and Jazzy after meeting them as Jenni's friends.
Story of Jenni that bubbly talkative friend of the gang and Jeremiah from Book 1, now resurrected as Beau. They meet at Jazzy's wedding because she's getting beat up and almost killed by Maxton... that bartender from the last book.
Beau takes her to the hospital and then nurses her to health back at his apartment where they develop this intense relationship... and I had trouble getting through this section. I had huge issues with what the author perceives as falling in love, but what is really hero worship and recovery from emotional and physical trauma coupled with a guy with a million military secrets and PTSD.
Warning: this Jenni is not the one we've come to know in the first two books. When she starts to find herself we learn a lot more about this young woman who is learning about herself as she falls in love. The relationships she has with Lynlee and Jazzy are tested as is Jenni's strength in loss. The last 20% of the book is pretty darn emotional.
And we don't exactly get an HEA here and there's an apparent 4th book that ties it all up.
I was so happy when the Author slipped that little blip in the end of the last That Girl book letting you know that "the soldier" was back. I was even happier to see that he was getting his own story! Well let me tell you I was not disappointed!!!
From the very first book Jeramiah held a special place for me. Now to go into this book and see the differences in the character did take a bit to get used to but in the end I think I enjoyed the new Jeramiah aka Beau even more!
Through in some of the crazy that is Jenni and my day was made! I loved watching her grow and develop into this amazing person. Put the two of them together and you are left being able to do nothing but swoon.
The turn of events in the book literally had me holding in sobs. I will warn you now you will more than likely cry. I can admit I did a few times and I think that made me love the story even more.
Overall this was an amazing read and totally worth the wait!!!!
I was given an advanced copy for an honest review.
I have been a fan of this series from the start and to be honest I was not a big fan of Jenni, so I was a little nervous going into this one! But of course HJ Bellus blew me away. It was a story that dragged me in from the beginning and held me in until the end. This is a great story about second chances and being able to move on from your past. Jenni and Beau were amazing together the chemistry and even the banter back forth was perfect. Of course there is also a great mix of drama and angst thrown in too keep you on your toes and guessing what was coming next! Can these two really get passed their pasts to find a future with each other or have they suffered too much?
I would definitely recommend this story and the entire series to everyone. HJ Bellus has a way of bringing you into her stories and always leaving you wanting more. I can not wait for what is too come next!
As far as anyone knew Sergeant Jeremiah Abbner was dead. Beau Morgan, as he is now known, has to set up a new life in a new town a long way from everything and anyone he's ever known, including his little girl. He lives a solitary life, living off the bare minimum he needs and living with a lot of aggression inside him just itching to come out.
Jenni Lee gets herself into a lot of sticky situations, The worst being when her on-off boyfriend beats her to a bloody pulp outside her friends wedding reception. Beau is the one to save her and takes care of her. What comes next, well, you'll have to read and see.
This story had me on such an emotional ride. I cried when Beau got his news, I sobbed my hear out when Jenni got both sets of news and wanted to climb into the book and give her a cuddle.
This book sucked me right in and i couldn't put it down. Well Done HJ Bellus 5 stars most definitely earned!!
This is the third book in the That Girl Novel series but can be read as a S/A although I would suggest reading the series in order as spoilers would be revealed here and both Beau and Jenni have featured previously so we already have a feel for them both.
Beau and Jenni are brought together when Beau saves Jenni one evening. What ensues is a story of two people broken coming together to help each other heal through accepting themselves and each other warts and all.
Her Soldier was a slow burner for me but what started off slowly and surely certainly spiraled into what turned out to be an emotional read that eventually sucked me in and at times had me crying like a baby and seconds later smiling like a loon.
Overall another enjoyable instalment in this series from HJ and I will certainly be looking forward to the novella wrapping up the stories for all the couples.
I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Where do I start on this one... I feel this is the most gut wrenching story I've read of Heidi's, so far. And I've read ALL of her books. This one just makes you FEEL the emotions so strongly. I just wanted to crawl through the book and hug Jenni, hard! My favorite lines from this book are: "I've found myself focusing on everything and anything besides the reality I should really be facing. My new hobby is mindlessly staring at odd objects such as the elegant cast iron Lynlee's hand is on." and the other is: "How do you let go of someone who loved you with no boundaries? How do you live without the love of the one person who saw you for you? I want to know how I'm ever supposed to live again without her love."..... And yes, I am the Michelle name saked in this book. Honored beyond words! Love my Girl Heidi to pieces!!!! **Muah**
I honestly don't know what to say except WOW!!!!!!! I love all of her books but this one cut me deep and i loved it. I binged on this book and read it from start to finish last night in bed because it had grabbed me and there was no way i could put it down until it was done. I honestly cried like a baby because it ripped my heart right out of me.
I loved Jeremiah when he was in That Girl and i was so upset when he got the boot but now he is back for his own story and boy does she make it a great one. Jeremiah is now Beau Morgan and there are things that he cant share with the one person he wants to Jenni. She also has things that she doesn't want her friends to know and she finds it easier to talk to Beau thinking after the next few days she wont see him again. But sparks fly and there is not enough water in the world to drown them out.
*An ARC was provided in exchange of an honest review*
What a amazing read!!! I loved the story of Beau & Jenni!!! It was so emotional & steamy! This book had all kinds of emotions swirling inside of me! I wanted to kill I was so angry (you'll know what parts I'm talking about when you read this bk), I wanted cry... I did cry at one point, my heart ached, I had some swooning moments, some "hot-damn" moments... This book was just absolutely mind-blowing!
I didn't read the 2 bks that came before it unfortunately, but even with that I was able to read this bk without any questions of what came to be before. However, I still want to read the first 2 bks to get Jazzy's & Lynlee's full stories.
As much as I loved the first two books in this series, I just wasn't feeling this one. It was disappointing to me that Jenni Lee's personality was completely different from how it was in the first two books. I realized she had just experienced a severe trauma but she still felt like a completely different person to me. I didn't like how the douchebag ex's death was completely glossed over and overshadowed by Beau's tragic news. It just seemed like two major parts of the storyline were rushed at the end. The book could have used a couple more chapters to give more explanation's for the death/murder and Beau's past. I was so looking forward to this story and it just bummed me out after I finished.
I loved this book hard! There were times that I cried, times that I laughed, and times I wanted to hunt H.J. down! But this book was really beautiful. Jenni was so broken and nobody saw it. She has such a beautiful soul, and had such a rough life. I was shocked by how much I loved her, and was rooting for her to finally get a HEA. This was simply beautifully written and another home run for H.J.
An ADD/ADHD main character. Hit on a few key points in a realistic manner. Skipped over a lot of true ADD/ADHD characteristics. Overall nice job. I liked the characters and the story was touching. Poor Aunt Danielle.
