Sassy By Nature is a chaotic, spicy, laugh out loud ride and I devoured it. E.K. Bling comes in hot with this debut and absolutely nails the mix of reverse harem, dark romance, and humour. Ally is pure sass with a messy past she is running from, and then Endrick, Boo, Leo, and Bj crash into her life in the most unhinged way possible. What starts as an accidental rescue turns into something hot, wild, and completely addictive. The guys are everything. Possessive, broody, playful, and filthy in the best ways. The chemistry is unreal, the banter had me grinning, and the humour balances the darker moments perfectly. There is also enough mystery around Ally’s past to keep the pages turning way past bedtime. If you love why choose with explicit MFMMM spice, sharp dialogue, and a heroine who fully owns her attitude, this one is a must. Book one has me hooked and I need the next one immediately.
~ARC Read... This is my honest review of the Book Sassy by Nature...~
I went into Sassy By Nature by E.K. Bling expecting spice and chaos, but what I got was so much more. This book completely pulled me in from the first chapter and refused to let go.
Ally is the kind of heroine you instantly root for. She is sharp, hilarious, guarded, and carrying way more than she lets anyone see. Her sass is unmatched, but underneath it is a lonely heart that honestly made me ache for her. The way her hidden past slowly unravels keeps the tension high and the mystery strong throughout the entire story.
And then we have Endrick, Boo, Leo, and Bj. Each of these men feels fully developed with their own demons, personalities, and depth. I loved that they were not carbon copies of each other. Their connection to Ally is intense, emotional, and magnetic. The chemistry is off the charts, but it is not just physical. There is this undeniable pull between them that feels bigger than attraction. It feels destined, messy, and powerful.
What really surprised me was how layered this story is. Yes, it is spicy and very much delivers on the reverse harem heat, but there is also heavy plot, mystery, and real emotional weight. The dark themes are handled with intensity and care, and the intrigue kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had things figured out, something shifted.
I also loved the humor woven through the darker moments. Ally’s quirky personality and the banter between the group gave the story balance and made the characters feel real. It is not easy to blend comedy with dark romance, but this book does it so well.
If you love MFMMM dynamics, strong tension, mystery, and a heroine who refuses to be anything but herself, this one is absolutely worth your time. Just make sure to check the trigger warnings before diving in.
This was easily a five star read for me. I am already ready for the next book in the series because I am not done with this world or these characters.
Sassy by Nature by E.K. Bling was such a chaotic, dark, addictive ride… and just when I was fully invested - boom. Another damn cliffhanger 😂
Ally is exactly what the title promises - sassy, sharp, and far more layered than she first appears. There’s something about her strength wrapped up in vulnerability that really worked for me. She’s been through it, and you can feel that weight in the quieter moments, even when she’s throwing attitude around like armour.
The guys, Endrick, Boo, Leo and BJ, barrel into her life and completely flip it upside down. I loved the dynamic between them. It’s chaotic, intense, sometimes funny, sometimes dark as hell, but there’s this undeniable pull tying them all together. The “unintended rescue” angle quickly turns into something much deeper, and I liked how the mystery around Ally unfolds alongside their growing connection.
At 272 pages, there’s enough space for the tension to really build and for the relationships to develop, while still keeping the pace tight and engaging. I loved it.
My only complaint is that cliffhanger. I need answers. Immediately!!
If you enjoy reverse harem with sass, secrets, dark undertones and a touch of chaos, this one’s worth picking up. Just be prepared to want the next book straight away.
Trigger Warnings: Explicit language, Explicit and descriptive sex scenes, murder, kidnapping, imprisonment, stalking, reverse harem, dubious consent, torture (physical not by MMC’s), torture (emotional), emotional manipulation (flashback), suspected sex trafficking, edging, violence, murder of a parent (flashback), murder of a child (flashback), assault (not at the hands of MMC’s)
I finished this book and the first thing out of my mouth was, “WHAT?” My next thought was, “WHY?” This book definitely snuck up on me. It was not what I thought it would be—but in the best way.
When I started this book, it gave me similar vibes to Den of Vipers. I really enjoyed that book, so naturally I started to devour this one. The tension in this book between the FMC and the MMCs was so good. The resistance from BJ, Endrick, and Leo is top notch.
I thought this was going to be a kidnapping, smut-filled, family drama situation, but that’s not what happened. This story was much more emotional and plot-heavy than I expected. What felt similar to Den of Vipers was the group dynamics, the tension, the chaos, and the morally gray energy. The difference, though, is that Sassy by Nature is more plot-heavy with much stronger character building, at least in my opinion.
The tension between the MCs is a slow-burn, push-and-pull, and the resistance between each MMC and the FMC felt very different. Ally and Boo were very playful, BJ and Endrick were more frustrating, and Leo was completely unhinged. The intensity of each MMC’s resistance really hit me, especially watching their inner walls slowly crumble as they started to realize their attraction to Ally.
All four of the MMCs bring a different flavor to the tension, and I loved how they balanced each other out. It was so satisfying to see sides of themselves emerge that even they seemed surprised by.
The pacing of this book was perfect, not too fast, but not super slow either. If you’re a fan of slow-burn, why choose, plot-heavy books, this one's for you. I would definitely recommend checking the content warnings beforehand to make sure there are no triggers for you.
This first book is packed with intense character building that makes you love and hate everyone in the best possible way. The dynamics are messy, emotional, and completely addictive. Ally is pure sass and sunshine wrapped around hidden scars. She’s bold, hilarious, and unapologetically herself — giving the men of Devil’s Spawn absolute hell at every turn. But beneath that sharp tongue is a girl carrying buried trauma and resurfacing memories that add real emotional weight to the story. Watching those cracks form in her armour is so emotionally draining. And the men… Endrick, Bjorn (BJ), Leyton (Boo), and Leo are anything but one-dimensional. They’re complex, morally grey, protective, and completely torn when it comes to Ally. Their chemistry with her is instant and explosive, but it’s layered with tension, confusion, and something deeper than just lust. What starts as a rescue-turned-kidnapping spirals into a dark, tension-filled ride packed with heat, humour, danger, and found-family vibes. The banter is sharp. The push and pull is delicious. And when the spice hits? It’s intense, possessive, and absolutely satisfying without losing the emotional connection underneath. This is fast-paced reverse harem with depth — dark themes (check those trigger warnings), mystery woven through the plot, and a heroine who refuses to be anything but herself. If you love: * MFMMM dynamics * Morally grey, protective men * A fierce, sassy FMC * High tension with serious heat * Dark romance balanced with humour
Sassy By Nature…is exactly that – SASSY! And honestly? I ate it up. No notes…except the fact that I now have to wait for book two. I need it yesterday.
Ally is spunky, fiery, and unapologetically bold in the best way – she doesn’t just walk into a room, she owns it. Ally’s mysterious past comes crashing back when she meets Endrick, Boo, Leo, and Bj. The pull between them is magnetic, messy, and completely impossible to look away from. You don’t just read it – you get dragged in right alongside her.
And the guys? I loved peeling back their layers. Their bond, their history, that brotherhood – it’s strong, complicated, and just begging to be tested. Let’s be real, throwing Ally into the mix and things are bound to get interesting. The question is: will she shake things up or completely unravel them?
Ally facing her mysterious past? Cue the gasps, the drama, and me clutching the book like I might fall into it.
The spice is spicing – just the right amount of heat without completely taking over the story.
E.K. Bling is such a talented storyteller. Sassy by Nature is layered with so many moving parts, and she handles it effortlessly. From the bigger picture down to the smallest details, she weaves everything together seamlessly – especially the way she incorporates past memories for key characters without ever slowing the story down.
Final verdict: obsessed, invested, and wildly impatient for what comes next.
I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ally has lived a less than fantastic life, after losing her parents while young she goes on to live with her uncle and aunty, after a trip to the mountains to find some peace amongst nature, animals and rock climbing her world is absolutely flipped. Kidnapped by members of a gang (Boo, Bj, Endrick & Leo) who are absolutely bad guys but don't entirely seem like the bad guys (plus they aren't too bad to look at) she begins to discover things about herself and her past while finding strength she didn't know she had.
What a ride, this book was absolutely amazing and to know it's the first ever from E.K Bling makes me so dang excited to read what she puts out next. There was action, tension, spice, trauma, growth, mystery, great tastes in music and even a sprinkling of humour. The way the peaceful yet brutal Australian bush and coast is written about is absolutely stunning and the contrasting darkness of complex characters keeps you hooked on every single word.
Read this book and wait (impatiently) for the next book to come out because the ending that we were left hanging on was bigger than an Australian coastal cliff.
Ally is just minding her own business and listening to her smutty book when her life changes forever. She is kidnapped and stashed away, but for how long?
This was an unexpected, deliciously dark and hilarious story. Endrick, Bj, Boo and Leo are all very different and intriguing in their own way. And they all try hard to be a nicer version of what Ally suspects them to be (except Leo, we are mad at Leo).
The story progression is slow as we get to know the characters. It's frustrating to know as little as Ally and we are desperate to help her figure it out, but, is it too late?
Possible triggers: Kidnapping, violence, death, childhood trauma, death/murder of a parent, death/murder of a child (vivid flashback), domestic abuse, explicit language and explicit sexual scenes.
Tropes: Forced proximity, why choose, grumpy sunshine (Endrick), broken boy, (Bj) very broken boy (Leo) and golden retriever (Boo), romantic suspense, mafia romance
This ending had me raging a bit...

I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
Oh, my goodness. I wanted to cry for the little girl in this story. So much trauma. The pain she endured broke my heart. As an adult, the FMC is hilarious. This book was well-written and easy to digest. It jumped into scenes without warning as to where it came from, but besides that this book was really good. It kept me on the edge of my seat. All of the main characters were broken in one way or another and they were just beginning to come to an understanding, when the rug is pulled out from under their feet. All of them. This book was so engaging. I really enjoyed it. There wasn’t much steam or spice, but what there was of it was good. The end of this book brought me to tears and one of the FMCs biggest fears was that everyone would betray her and it looks like everyone did. The ending of this book was brutal. I was not prepared for it. I’m not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t that. I would definitely recommend this book.
So lucky to have been an arc reader for this book, an I was blown away by it. This book hooked me in within the first couple of pages, I knew it was going to be a great book and I loved everything about it😍. Dark romance isn’t suppose to be sunshines and rainbows, it’s meant to be dark, sassy and fun. And that’s exactly what this book was, and by fun I mean dark.🫢love a book where the character and the story line has good depth, and characters have their own personalities, quirky traits and are unapologetic about the darkness.
The cliff hanger, seriously someone help because I need to know what happens? If you want a book that will sweep you off your feet, then this indie author is for you. 🫢🌶️😈
No this isn’t just a review, I genuinely mean what I’m saying!! Humour, fun, adventurous, dark, spicy!! 🥵 I can’t wait for more, and a series? Seriously up there with one of my favourite reads!

Sassy by Nature by E.K Bling is a fast-paced reverse harem dark romance that hooks you from page one. The chemistry is instant, the banter is sharp and the tension keeps building.
Ally is hilarious, bold, and unapologetically sassy. She gives the men of Devil’s Spawn (Endrick, Boo, Leo, and BJ) absolute hell and I loved watching their dynamic unfold.
What starts as a rescue/kidnapping quickly turns into something deeper as Ally’s repressed childhood memories begin resurfacing, adding emotional weight beneath the humour and heat.
This story includes darker themes (check trigger warnings), but the MMCs are protective and not the source of her trauma. The mix of sass, steam, danger, and found-family vibes makes for an entertaining and engaging read.
If you love reverse harem, morally grey men, strong FMCs, and dark romance with a comedic edge this one’s worth grabbing.
This book was so hilarious, it had me cackling out loud. I couldn't put it down!
I loved the characters and their dynamic together. Ally is such a fun and sassy FMC. The boys are all possessive but each one brings an individual level of chaos too.
I really enjoyed getting snippets of backstory along the way. It worked well to intrigue me and keep me wanting more. The plot is fast paced and complex. Mystery, emotional depth, angst, tension, a bit of spice. Then that cliffhanger!!! I need to know what happens next!
Definitely add this one to your TBR if you enjoy a good laugh with a side of darkness. Check those trigger warnings before you dive in.
Some brilliant one liners that will live rent free in my head: Quivering beaver 🤣 Mayo shooting hotdog gun 🤣 Pink canoe 🤣 Sympathy tremor 🤣
Firstly, as an Aussie, I loved the lingo used—from Uncle Baz (I have one of those too) to the humor throughout. The premise itself is a lot of fun, and there were two twists I absolutely did not see coming. I was genuinely happy to be surprised.
Boo is my man. I’ll be honest, I didn’t love the other male characters, but I loved Boo. This book does include some spice and adult themes, so please check the content warnings if that’s something you prefer to avoid. Overall, I enjoyed this read.
That said, I did want more from it. I felt like the book needed to be a bit longer or have more substance toward the middle or the end. Still, the ending left me so intrigued that I desperately want to read the next book.
💚Arc Review💚 Sassy by Nature by E.K.Bling is accurately named as this book is sassy with a capital S. This story centres around Ally who is a hilarious Aussie, ex -army mountain climber, with no memory of her past.
Ally is unexpectedly kidnapped by four extremely attractive gang members from the Shire and she ends up having all sorts of feelings for her kidnappers. Be prepared for very entertaining Aussie slang that will have you cackling.
Underneath the lighter tone, Ally and her men are all battling their own demons while she is trying to escape her situation. Sassy by nature was a quick read that packed a punch. I am very excited to see what happens in book two.
The story follows Ally, a bold, adventurous FMC on her way to meet her uncle. A simple lunch stop - complete with schnitzel and her audiobook - quickly spirals into chaos when three ridiculously attractive men unexpectedly rescue then proceed to kidnap her. From there, nothing is quite what it seems.
Sassy By Nature is packed with humour, tension, and plenty of laugh out loud moments. The writing feels fresh and engaging, and leaves you wanting more.
And that cliffhanger had me in an absolute chokehold - I cannot wait for book two!
wow... this book has me in a choke hold. kinda saw it coming but..... the cliffhanger
tropes/trigger they fall first and hard rh no mm murder kidnapping imprisonment stalking explicit language dubious consent open door spice torture not by mmc's torture emotional emotion manipulation suspected sex trafficking murder of parents (flashback) murder of child (flashback) assault not but mmc's
I received this as a ARC read, and had a really good time. This was a fun read, fast paced and a little steamy. The MC is likable, the story line is easy to follow. It keeps a lighthearted tone even with “darker” themes and loved how the story progressed. If you liked butcher and blackbird I think you could find a lot of joy in this too.
This is a honest Arc Review. I really enjoyed this book. It had me laughing a lot with banter. If you enjoy humor, dark undertones, and chaos then this is the book for you.
This is a reverse harem that layers in story, spicy, and tension. The pacing is fast which makes it a page turner. There on some plot twists and a cliffhanger that will leave eagerly waiting for book 2.
I got an ARC from Book &Bitches ARC Team. I absolutely loved it. Ally is such a great character, she is Sassy and although suffering heartbreak you see her character development through this. The MMC's Endrick, Bjorn (BJ), Leyton (Boo) and Leo are her kidnappers, and so much happens.
What a fun story. Gives butcher and blackbird vibes for sure! I laughed a lot especially with Boo. I enjoyed the development of the character relationships. Wish I got a bit more but it sets up it for the next book for sure. I definitely saw the cliffhanger coming, very excited for the next one
I need the next book, like yesterday! This was such a good read. The story continues to build wonderfully. The book keeps you engaged and wanting more. Boo was such an amazing character, so loving and funny. The rest of them can kick rocks.
I went into Sassy by Nature by E.K. Bling expecting sass… and although definitely delivered, I honestly wanted even more of it.
The FMC is bold, witty, and unapologetic. As a reverse harem romance, the chemistry and group dynamics are entertaining and high-energy. The tension builds well, and the interactions feel distinct enough to keep things interesting. The pacing is quick, which makes it an easy binge read. And that ending… definitely a cliffhanger. It wraps up just enough to hook you, but leaves you with big questions and a strong urge to grab the next book immediately.
Sassy by nature was a great read, I am eager for the next book. The characters and plot developed strongly in this story, E. K Bling created intrigue, darkness, spice & threw it all together with a hint of mystery and a damn double dose of longing for more 🖤 This is worth adding to your TBR it’s easily a 5 star read.
