I'm the husband to an incredible wife and the daddy to five amazing girls! I spent ten years serving as a children's pastor. Then, I worked as a marriage and family therapist, psychology professor, writing coach, and author.
Today, I've published 23 books. I enjoy helping others elevate their life and leadership through speaking and Christian life-coaching. In my free time, you'll find me reading, preparing for an upcoming marathon, barbecuing, paddle boarding, and enjoying life with our incredible family.
This is by no means my favourite genre. I am not a fan of self help books as I believe nothing beats human interaction and a good solid support system. Yes, I know not everybody has that and usually due to circumstances far beyond their ability to rectify on short notice. Still, I accepted this book because the title and cover intrigued me and boy am I glad I did. I hate preachy Christian books. Show me how to live, dont preach to me, do as I say not as I do and that was the second reason I was a bit hesitant to take on this book. But, I decided, it seems like a short read and it is, it is also a deceptively easy read. with four or five tools how to live better but I finished this book on Sunday and mulled over the tools and scripture provided and found it quite brilliant in it's superficial ease but still life changing techniques. The trick in the black magic as they say in this book does not lie in the complicated manner of the tools but rather in the fact that most of us will need to break a life time of bad habits in certain areas to learn this new skill set. But, I have no doubt that if you find yourself in a position to do that, then your life will show a marked improvement.
I thought it was great. I took several notes and even shared some quotable content on social media that resonated with me. This book will give you a great understanding of what it takes to thrive and how God defines that in Scripture. This book will continue to help you grow and glorifies God.
