From New York Times bestselling author Meghan Quinn comes a spicy sports romance filled with late-night book club confessions, forbidden attraction, and one slow-burn love story that refuses to stay platonic.
They're just friends. At least, that's what she thinks. Him? He has other plans.
Bennett Brinkman is San Francisco baseball's golden boy-focused, disciplined, and very bad at ignoring the one woman he shouldn't want. Falling for his sister's best friend was inevitable, even though she's known him since he was all gangly elbows, bad haircuts, and teenage awkwardness...and still insists on seeing him that way.
Bower knows exactly why wanting Bennett is a terrible idea. She's fiercely loyal to her best friend and well aware that crossing this particular line could blow everything up. But when she moves into Bennett's apartment building, that "just friends" boundary begins to blur in the most tempting ways.
The banter comes fast. The sparks come faster. And pretending it's "no big deal" is getting ridiculous.
As feelings get messier and attraction turns undeniable, Bennett and Bower must decide if risking their family ties is worth chasing the love that's been in front of them all along.
When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.
You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.
I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.
This book was exactly what I needed & wanted in a summer rom com and I devoured it so fast! The audio was absolutely fantastic and the casting couldn’t have been more perfect! Samantha Brentmoor & Teddy Hamilton performed our main characters, Bower & Bennett - they are two of my faves and were amazing at bringing these two to life! And the rest of the cast included JF Harding, Connor Crais, Stella Hunter, Emma Wilder, and Jason Clarke. Talk about a dream team to listen to!
Bower and Bennett have known each other for years - she’s his sister’s best friend and has always been there for them. But Bennett was crushing hard from the moment he saw Bower, never thinking he’d ever have a chance with her. But after years of friendship and with her moving to the same city and living in his building…things definitely start to change.
The playful banter between these two is perfection! I love that they have that friendship as a base for their relationship and how comfortable they are with each other. I live for a good slow burn and I was eating this up!
What to expect: ⚾️baseball romance 🧢friends to lovers ⚾️he falls first and HARD 🧢sister’s best friend ⚾️slow burn 🧢age gap ⚾️he falls first
The way I devoured this book so fast! The audio with Samantha Brentmoor & Teddy Hamilton was fantastic! These two are always a top tier duo & I loved every second!!
Bennett & Bower!! She is so lovable & unapologetically her! Bower is a man down bad & ready to be everything for her! I am obsessed with these two. The tension, the yearning moments, the chemistry, and the absolute heat they brought!! This was so fun, swoony, & full of delicious spice!!! In typical MQ fashion, she had me laughing out loud, giddy, and even brought tears to my eyes.
As always, honorable mention to the Gladdy Daddies, because I love them!!! The friend group & group chats just get me every time! I cannot wait for more from these characters!!
If you’re wanting the perfect summer rom com, look no further… because this one has it all! A fun & absolutely spicy friends to lovers read that will have you falling in love too!!
Thank you MQ & team for the early ARC & ALC opportunity!! ❤️
A hot baseball player who reads romance novels? Meghan Quinn knew exactly what she was doing because Bennett had me hooked from the very beginning.
This was easily one of my favorite age-gap, best friend’s sister romances that I’ve read in a long time. Bennett’s long-time crush on Bower was so incredibly sweet, and watching their relationship grow from a genuine friendship into something so much deeper made every moment feel earned. Their chemistry was effortless, the banter was hilarious, and when the romance finally took off… it absolutely delivered. The spice? Top tier.
I also listened to this on audio, and once again, Meghan Quinn’s audiobooks did not disappoint. The narrators brought these characters to life so well that I found myself smiling, laughing, and completely invested in every chapter.
If you’re looking for a baseball romance with an absolute green-flag book boyfriend, incredible chemistry, laugh-out-loud moments, and a romance that will have you kicking your feet, Just for the Plot needs to be on your TBR.
I have been waiting for Bower to get her own book, and it absolutely delivered! I loved her unfiltered, unapologetic personality, and she truly shined in this story. As a fellow book lover, I loved seeing her passion for books and watching her chase her dreams.
Then there’s Bennett, he was everything and more. Even though he was eight years younger, he was incredibly mature, patient, and completely devoted to Bower. My mom always told me to fall in love with someone who loves you more, and Bennett is the perfect example of that.
I also loved Nolan’s addition to the group. He brought so much humor and was such a fun character. Getting more of OC and Grayden was everything I wanted, and seeing Maggie and Ryland from Almond Bay pop back in made me so happy.
The spice definitely delivered, but the slow-burn tension leading up to it was even better. And if you’ve read it, you already know the cupcake scene and the bedroom mirror scene will be living rent-free in my head forever.
Meghan Quinn never misses, and this was everything I hoped Bower’s story would be.
This honestly might be my favorite Meghan Quinn book! I was laughing throughout the entire book (true Meghan fashion to bring the humor) 🤣
Bower has been best friends with Gabby since they were little. Gabby’s younger brother (8 years), Bennett, is a professional baseball player. So naturally, Bower and Bennett have been around each other for a while (along with Bennett’s crush on Bower 😚)!
Bower moves into Bennett’s apartment building for her job. He’s the only person she knows there, so of course they spend a lot of time together…. Feelings develop however it’s forbidden because he’s her best friend’s brother and he’s 8 years younger than her!
Along the way, lines get blurred, nicknames develop, and guards get dropped…. Creating a spicy good time 🔥The tension between these two is THICK!!! 🥵
I loved all the side characters too! The “Gladdy Daddy” group chat was seriously the funniest! I definitely wanna be friends with that crew 🤭
🎧And the audio?? 🎧 It’s a MUST!!! I mean hello, it’s Samantha Brentmoor and Teddy Hamilton for crying out loud! Perfection! Meghan’s audio books are truly some of my favorite to listen to! Between her witty comments and banter between characters, it’s a recipe for perfection! ✨
Thank you Meghan, your team, and Hambright PR for this amazing immerse read opportunity! I’m a sucker for a MQ book and this one delivered!
I have been waiting for Just for the Plot ever since we first got a glimpse of Bennett and Bower in previous books, and I just knew this was going to be my favorite. Meghan Quinn absolutely delivered.
The longing and pining Bennett had for his sister’s best friend was on another level. You could feel just how much he’d loved her from afar, and when Bower finally started seeing him as the man he’d become, he knew he had to take his shot. Enter the “Gladdy Daddy” gang. Their group chats were completely unhinged and had me laughing out loud, but somehow their ridiculous advice actually worked!
One thing Meghan Quinn does so well is letting relationships evolve naturally. Nothing felt rushed or forced. Watching Bennett and Bower slowly fall for each other made every moment feel earned, and it made finally seeing them give in to their feelings that much sweeter.
And the spice? Let’s just say everything Bower has been reading in her romance novels suddenly came to life. It was absolutely chef’s kiss.
Of course, they hit a few bumps along the way, but what I loved most was how they communicated and worked through their problems together. Their relationship felt mature, healthy, and authentic, which only made me root for them even more.
This book was funny, heartfelt, incredibly romantic, and seriously steamy. Bennett has officially claimed a spot as one of my favorite Meghan Quinn book boyfriends, and Bower was the perfect match for him. Without a doubt, this is one of my favorite Meghan Quinn books, and it was worth every second of the wait.
Just for the Plot was such a great summer read ☀️💛
This is the second book in the Bay Area Players series, and it follows Bennett Brinkman, a star baseball player for San Francisco who has secretly been in love with Bower, his sister’s best friend, for years. Their slow-burn chemistry, witty banter, and heartfelt moments made this story impossible to put down.
Meghan Quinn delivered another fun, witty, and feel-good romance filled with laugh-out-loud moments, undeniable chemistry, and characters I couldn’t help but root for. It was the perfect mix of humor, heart, and romance that kept me smiling from beginning to end.
The audiobook made the experience even better—Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life! Their performances added so much personality, emotion, and humor to the story. 🎧✨
If you’re looking for a lighthearted, entertaining romance to toss in your beach bag or listen to by the pool, this one is definitely worth picking up!
At this point, anything Meghan Quinn writes, I’ll read. 🤭📚 She never disappoints!
Thank you, Meghan Quinn and Good Girls PR, for the ALC in exchange for my honest review. I truly enjoyed every minute of this story and can’t wait to see what Meghan Quinn writes next! 💕
Okay… Meghan Quinn. The spice in this book was spicy!
I was so excited that we were getting Bowers story and I absolutely LOVED it. Her dream is to own a mini book truck. Starting a book club with her best friend’s little brother. Did I mention it’s a romance book club, and the brother ( Bennett ) is a professional baseball player. This book will make you laugh from the group texts from the gladdy daddy’s, the writing puns, and Bennett friends. Meghan’s books are always a good time.
Thank you to Megan Quinn and her team for providing me with an advanced reader copy of this book. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to read it.
Bennett has had a crush on Bower for as long as he can remember. As his sister’s best friend, she has always been a part of his life. Bower affectionately calls him “Boo Boo,” but she’s always seen him as the baby brother rather than someone she could date. Bennett is determined to prove that he’s no longer the little boy she remembers and that he’s someone worth taking a chance on.
Bower works as an assistant and dreams of one day opening her own bookstore. When her boss relocates to San Francisco, she agrees to make the move. As fate would have it, Bennett is also living in San Francisco, where he’s playing baseball for the Bombers. Being reunited gives them the opportunity to see each other in an entirely new light.
This book is a fun, spicy rom-com that had me laughing from beginning to end while cheering for Bennett and Bower to finally get together. As always, Megan Quinn delivers fantastic banter, witty humour, and characters with incredible chemistry.
The tension and spice between these two felt fresh and different from the couples in her previous books. I honestly don’t know how Megan Quinn continues to write so many romances while making each relationship feel unique. I also enjoyed how closely the timeline tied into the first book in the series, giving readers familiar moments without making the story feel repetitive.
Although this is part of a series, it can absolutely be read as a standalone. That said, once you read one of Megan Quinn’s books, you’ll want to pick up another. They’re like potato chips—you can’t stop at just one. Her books are the ultimate guilty pleasure and are always hard to put down.
If you enjoy spicy rom-coms filled with laugh-out-loud moments, sizzling chemistry, fantastic banter, and a cast of lovable characters, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.
Meghannnnnnn!! This book was so good I didn’t want to put it down. I absolutely ate up Bennett and Bower’s connection. Their banter was everything, and the tension, yearning, and spice had me literally giddy, smiling, and kicking my feet the entire time I was listening to this book.
This book was also hilarious. I don’t know where Meghan gets her sense of humor, but she gets me every single time. The way Bennett has always been in love with Bower and stands up for their relationship, even though it’s so forbidden because she’s his sister’s best friend, had me squealing. I just knew he would have that moment, and it did not disappoint.
Bower is such a book lover, and I loved seeing her follow her dreams. I also loved her unfiltered personality. One of my favorite things about this couple was how well they communicated and how they fought for each other once their secret was no longer a secret.
I honestly didn’t want this book to end. If Meghan writes it, I’m reading it no questions asked. She never misses!
I also had the opportunity to listen to the ALC, and of course, the cast did not disappoint. They did an amazing job. Plus, if Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor are narrating, please sign me up!
Thank you Mommy Quinn and Good Girls PR for the ARC/ALC!
This is hands down the funniest Meghan Quinn book I’ve read. When I tell you I just kept laughing outloud every other sentence 😂
I did this one primarily in audio and holy shit!!! What an incredible performance. You’d think by now I’d know all sides of Teddy Hamilton but somehow this man still finds way to surprise me with his voice and talent. And all that combines with my dream girl crush Samantha Brentmoor??? A RECIPE FOR MAXIMUM HORNINESS!!
Seriously, what an incredible freaking performance. Of course I have to also give gib gib kudos to the rest of the cast because they were all absolutely perfect!
Loved this story. Loved the spice… I see you Meghan, I see you 🥵🥵
I’m so happy to have gotten so many of my favorite microtropes in a single book. This one is about readers and for the readers.
Obviously if Meghan writes it- I read it. But this one may have tipped the scales into being my new favorite. 👀 As someone who loved the Almond Bay series, getting to read about Bennet and Bowers happy ending was everything. ⚾️📚❤️
Technically every book can be a standalone but when you dive into all of these worlds, the crossovers make them even better. Also the best friends to lovers trope is an absolute FAVORITE of mine. Oh and him being obsessed with her first is just icing on the cake! (Or cupcake 😘🧁)
10/10 summer rom com. NOW GIVE ME OC NEXT 😈🏒
“And I can tell you right now in this moment that if she asked me to walk off a cliff with her, I’d follow her. With one please from her gorgeous eyes, I’d follow into the inner depths of hell where bloody hand jobs and whatever the hell it is that she reads exists. “I’ll be your person.”’
this was so freakin’ good!!! i usually rate MQ’s books 3-4 ⭐️ bc of how cheesy they can be but i absolutely loved this one!!
bennett is 24 years old and has had the biggest crush on his sisters best friend bower who’s 32 years old. the yearning on this man was so freakin’ cute to read omg! i was kicking my feet and giggling at how much he was in love with her. the spicy scenes were hot as hell and the healthy communication with bennett and bower was refreshing. i bounced back forth with the ALC and eARC and had the best time reading/listening.
all my romcom lovers this is a must add to your tbr’s!! thank you to meghan and her team for sending me the ARC 💕
Omg, I loved Bennett & Bowers’ story so much!! I was lucky enough to receive the ALC for this one, and it was absolute perfection. The full cast did an incredible job bringing the characters to life, and it made this rom com even funnier.
One thing I can always count on with a Meghan Quinn book is laughing out loud. I absolutely loved the age-gap romance, and Bennett completely stole my heart. He was so sweet, adorable, and impossible not to love. I’m also really glad I listened to this one because it’s another long book.
5⭐️3🌶️5/5🗣️ Did this make me laugh so hard I almost crashed my car? Yes. Did the spicy scenes make my toes curl? Why yes, they did. Am I in love with Bennett Brinkman? Uh, yeah! If you can, read this on audio. It is a whole vibe with a full cast and Meghan Quinn’s comic relief is, as always, spectacular. Now am I impatiently waiting for OC’s book (that I’ve been waiting for since I devoured the Vancouver Agitators series)? HELL YEAH I AM.
Spoiler-free review: I loved this book so much that I think there should be a money-back guarantee if you don't start reading and inhale the whole thing in one sitting. It's that good.
From here on out....spoilers....
I was only three chapters in when I already knew this was going to be a five-star read. From that point on, I was completely hooked, and by the end, I honestly couldn't even pick a favorite part because I loved every minute of it.
The combination of best friend's little brother, age gap, and forbidden love was absolutely irresistible. Meghan Quinn NAILED every trope, building the tension perfectly while making me fall harder and harder for Bower and Bennett with every chapter.
Bower was such a fun FMC. Her job totally reminded me of that influencer in New York who basically spends her days running errands for her boss, and for some reason, I was absolutely obsessed with it. Watching her absolutely excel at being the ultimate right-hand woman was so entertaining. And her BOSS? What an absolute QUEEN. Please tell me I wasn't the only one picturing Julie Andrews the entire time!
I also adored Bower's bookish obsession and her dream of opening a book truck. As a fellow book lover, that dream felt so relatable and made me love her even more.
Now, my newest book boyfriend - Bennett. One thing I really adored about him and the way he was written was how you almost felt yourself seeing him grow into this "man" just as Bower was realizing it too. What a man he became!
What also made this book work so well was that you saw their friendship and really felt that connection as friends first and then you slowly begin to feel that slow burn of romance come when they go "fake date" at the dinner party. That dinner party was where Bower and Bennett really started to hit it off and it gave me all the nostalgic '90s rom-com vibes. The chemistry, the banter, and the laughs were perfection, and I couldn't get enough.
The return of the infamous Gladdy Daddies was absolutely hysterical, as always! Every scene with them had me laughing out loud. And can we talk about Nolan joining the Gladdy Daddies? HECK YES! I was already obsessed with this group, but that just made me love them even more.
The chemistry between Bower and Bennett was undeniable, the banter was hilarious, and the tough moments hit just as hard as the romantic ones. I found myself smiling, laughing, swooning, and completely invested from beginning to end.
Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for OC's book because I already know it's going to be incredible. And if Nolan joining the crew means we're getting a fourth book in this series...I am 100% here for it. Meghan Quinn can keep this series going for as long as she wants because I am absolutely EATING. IT. UP.
"Just for the Plot" is exactly why Meghan Quinn is one of my favorite romance authors. If you're looking for a romance that's laugh-out-loud funny, has unforgettable characters, and has all the delicious angst that comes with forbidden love, this one belongs at the very top of your TBR.
Oh - & I HIGHLY recommend immersively reading this one. The narrator cast is full of all your favorite narrators that just took this audiobook to the next level. Teddy Hamilton, Samantha Brentmoor, Emma Wilder, Connor Crais, J.F. Harding, Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter. Chefs kiss.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Just for the Plot is classic Meghan Quinn in all of the best ways!
It feels a lot Iike her Brentwood baseball series or Agitators hockey series. All of the chemistry, and the fun of the pro sports world, with a little less of the silliness that we’ve seen in her more recent work. OC is still around though, so there is a non-zero level of silliness. 😆
Bower moves to San Francisco for work, where her best friend’s younger brother is a professional baseball player. Bennett has always had a thing for Bower, but with the eight-year age difference, he hasn’t had the opportunity to act on his feelings before now. He’s determined to win her over with help from the Gladdy Daddies and his teammate Nolan, who totally matches OC’s freak.
I’m obsessed with Bennett. He yearns without feeling pathetic; is kind, supportive, possessive; and the some of the things he says… I was blushing! And the parallel reading? Swoon.
I also loved the Meghanverse Easter eggs and series crossover appearances.
The dramatic moment when Bennett’s sister finally finds out about their relationship was really well done. It could have been predictable and drawn out, but instead left me feeling proud of how everyone handled it!
Honestly, I’m sad it’s over. I’ll take 12 more, please!
Thanks to the author and Good Girls PR for the gifted ARC! All opinions are my own.
Friends to lovers usually isn’t my go to trope, so I went into this one a little unsure if Bennett and Bower were going to win me over. But let me tell you… they absolutely did.
This was such a fun, spicy, and adorable read. Bennett and Bower had chemistry from the start, and once they crossed that line, they seriously could not keep their hands off each other. The tension and the banter made this one impossible not to enjoy.
I loved getting to see familiar faces again, and the group text had me laughing so many times. OC and Nolan were absolute chaos in the best way, and I need more of them immediately because they had me dying.
Overall, this was such a cute addition to the series. I loved how everything wrapped up, and I cannot wait to see what comes next. Also, this book officially has me wanting a book truck because obviously that is a life necessity now.
🎧5⭐️ A huge thank you to Meghan Quinn for the opportunity to immersive read before release. I’m so thankful for the gifted ARC and ALC. The audiobook was incredible! Samantha Brentmoor and Teddy Hamilton were amazing, and the full cast narration with Emma Wilder, Connor Crais, J.F. Harding, Jason Clarke, and Stella Hunter took it to another level. Top tier narration!
4.5 ⭐️ I loved this!!! I immersive read this on audio and the fullcast narration was sooo good!!! Meghan Quinn rarely misses when it comes to romcoms, and this had everything I could want.Amazing banter, off the charts chemistry! The yearning was actual perfection. It was so good!
This is definitely a slow burn but the wait is worth it because when the spice finally arrives it’s 10/10. 🥵
Bennett is officially one of my favourite Meghan Quinn book boyfriends because that man is the definition of a green flag. I was obsessed with him from start to finish. Bower is the sweetest soul, and I loved seeing her realise what had been right in front of her all along. I think we need to appreciate a romance where the main characters actually communicate! There’s no pointless third act breakup, no unnecessary miscommunication, just two people figuring it out together and it was so refreshing.
Oh and I can’t forget the Gladdy Daddies, so happy they are back together and Nolan is the funniest new addition!
Such a fun, swoony, feel good romance perfect for a summer read
Read if you like: Reverse age gap Best friends brother Forbidden Friends to lovers Lots of spice Friendship groups Yearning Summer Rom com vibes
Just for the Plot by Meghan Quinn eARC & ALC Review 📖🩷
Oh my gosh, I had the best time with this one. The entire plot is amazing and Meghan’s writing is just hilarious, I found myself laughing and in tears several times. Truly, what a great freaking time.
Bower and Bennett have my heart. He is so down bad for his sister’s best friend. Like DOWN BAD. He is going to do whatever it takes and take all the terrible advice in order to win over her heart. 🫣 Bower is honestly hilarious. She is so blunt has no filter and I freaking love her. She is so torn and knows that Bennett is off limits but she cannot deny their chemistry.
Graydon’s chapter- LOVED IT.
The Gladdy Daddies text convos are one of my favorite parts 😂
And I can’t write this review without mentioning the cupcake scene because holy hotness. 🧁 Not sure I’ll look at a cupcake without thinking about this scene ever again 😅
The audio and full cast narration is absolutely incredible 👏🏻👏🏻
Duet narration by: Teddy Hamilton & Samantha Brentmoor
What to expect: Sister’s best friend Neighbors One bed Slow burn Baseball romance Age gap He falls first
“Just for the Plot” by Meghan Quinn is part of the “Bay Area Players” series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Thank you Good Girls PR for the digital and audio copy. Opinions from this review are completely my own.
What you can expect: - sports romance (baseball) - friends to lovers - age gap (8 years- she is older) - best friend’s brother - slow burn ( but a lot of spice) - he falls first - dual POV - multicast narration
Bennett had a crush on Bower since he met her. The issue is he was 16, her 24 and his sister’s best friend. 8 years later, he is a successful baseball player still crushing on Bower, that still see his as a friend. After she moves in his building, they start spending a lot of time together and Bower realizes that he is no longer her friend’s young brother, but an adult that she’s attracted to.
This book is so much fun. Especially in audio. Samantha Brentmoor is an amazing narrator that brought out the best in Bower. She is so funny, but also manages to make you feel all the character’s emotions. Teddy Hamilton is also great narrating Bennett, and the supporting cast, that includes Stella Hunter, Emma Wilder, Jason Clarke, Connor Crais and JF Harding turn this into a 5⭐️ audiobook.
There is so much banter between Bennett and Bower and with the close proximity the relationship between them turns slowly friendship (and unrequited love) to lust and then love.
If you read Meghan’s other books you will be glad to find some of the characters from other series in this book.
I throughly enjoyed the friends to lovers trope of this story. Brings me back to how much I loved A Long Time Coming. Bennett being in love with Bower for so long, and even with the 8 year age gap, you can’t help but be his cheerleader in his pursuit to get Bower to see him as anything but the teenage boy she promised to protect. And helping Bennett along the way, of course, are the Gladdy Daddies. As always they deliver terrific comic relief and the addition of Nolan ramped up the laughes and banter. MQ never disappoints! Giving us couples we love and side characters that make us laugh out loud. Also, I read this book using the audiobook and the narrators were amazing. Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor were amazing as Bennett and Bower and the fact that this was a full cast audiobook really made it perfect!! She brought back the same narrators for all the characters in this book and ones returning from other books.
Went in with high expectations after coming down from the high of reading Rules for the Summer, and this book was not written for me, and that’s alright!
The FMC and MMC quite literally never left their apartment or did anything to build their relationship besides, dare I say it, HAVE SEX. 😂
They talked about sex, they thought about sex, they read about sex, and they had lots of sex.
All my stars go to the Gladdy Daddies text threads and Bennett with his lengthy, swoon worthy declarations of love to Bower since he’s been pining for her since he was 16. It was interesting to be in his POV. I wish I could have gotten some flash back chapters on them growing up together to get a better feel of them prior to being 24 and 32.
Bower? She was very surface level. And even though she was the older one, she was not as mature as Bennett. Which turned me off to enjoying her character.
This book was a step up from Just for the Cameras and I absolutely ate up every minute of it. I listened to this as an audiobook to really get the full experience and it did not disappoint!! Bennett and Bower were so perfect for eachother even though there was an age gap. The yearning and sister’s bestfriend were done so well in this as well as incorporate the main focus of baseball and a love for books. I shockingly haven’t read many baseball romances which is something I need to work on lol. Absolutely could not get enough of the side characters and the growing Gladdy Daddies gc and addition of a Gladdy Mommy. This book was less emotional torture than the first book since both characters knew exactly what they wanted. Was still incredibly hilarious which should shock no one. Can’t wait for OC and I hope to god Gretchen.
Thank you to the Bloom Books, Team Meghan Quinn, and Hambright PR for the eArc and ALC
Bennet, Bennett, Bennett….. you filthy talking, yearning man…. WHY ARE YOU SO HOT?!? (Also we got more Gladdy Daddy chats in this one!)
Yall! This book was extra steamy! I loved this one so much because of the pure steamy. This was an emotional rollercoaster as well.
The moment Bower kind of got on board of the hotness of Bennett, I pumped my fist in the air because YES GIRL! Stare at the abs! And then a lot of back and forth commenced that had me staying up late just to see if they’d finally take the plunge.
Bennett, you yearner you! This man was so good! Like a top tier MQ MMC. And you know he’s desperate when he reaches out to OC for help! He’s full of great, swoon-worthy speeches because I went a little feral when he’d drop them.
Overall this was a great book and Meghan Quinn does no wrong in my eyes!
(But now who is OC going to get with because there were no hints!)
First I would like thank Meghan and her team for the ALC. The full cast did such a wonderful job narrating the book. I loved it!
The story itself was really good! I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard and that early on in a book in a very long time. It was funny, sweet and spicy. Bennett was very swoon worthy. Listening to Bower and Bennett’s love story unfold was so much fun.
I can’t wait to continue the series and to see where it all unfolds from here.
