Nocturnal Offerings is a collection of poems & prose steeped in midnight rituals, a fever-dream of survival and surrender, a voice insisting that even in absence, in cracks and shadows, there is light that burns, breath that continues, and a self remade again and again.
Hannah Mihalic is a writer who uses poetry and prose as a form of catharsis, exploring the messy, unfiltered parts of the self often left untouched. Drawn to intensity, memory, desire, and quiet moments of reflection, Nocturnal Offerings is her debut collection, an honest, unstructured journey through feeling, healing, and perspective.
"Pain folds into pulse, loss folds into breath, and every ruin I survive spins me back into shape, a body remade from the ashes of itself."
Hannah Mihalic's poetry and prose collection unfolds like a fever dream where past experiences are laid bare through fragments of inner dialogue.
Reading through these there is that sense of rawness and powerful honesty. The author writes in a haunting yet beautiful way. These internal thoughts are presented almost like confessions that have captured the complexity of these lived experiences.
I enjoyed exploring this collection. There is a lot here that will be relatable to many readers who have had similar experiences.
Many thanks to the author @stainedmusings for the arc 🖤
Thank you so much to Hannah Mihalic for an advanced copy! All thoughts are my own.
Hannah Mihalic's Nocturnal Offerings is a stunning meditation on life, love, and, above all, choosing yourself. I often have a hard time reviewing poetry, but this is a truly beautiful collection. Every word here feels purposefully chosen, and Mihalic's style is artistic, lyrical, even defiant. While I'm sure these poems came from a deeply personal place for the author (as almost all good poetry does), the themes here are universal enough that most readers can likely find something to relate to. I'll be looking forward to reading any future work Mihalic puts out!
Poetry isn’t something I usually gravitate toward, but this collection was a lovely surprise. Hannah writes with tenderness and honesty, and there’s a rawness to her words that feels very real. I found myself relating to many of the thoughts and experiences throughout. Messy, vulnerable, and true to life.
