EXCERPT

"You look flushed," he said, his tone so raspy it made me want to tell him why.

"I was just thinking of something," I whispered, my gaze zeroing in on his mouth.

"Oh?" He took one step closer. "Care to share your thoughts?"

I licked my lips . . . ready to share more than just the thoughts. He'd said earlier he wondered what I

tasted like. I was wondering the same about him.

"Is it easy for you? Telling the truth?" I asked.

"Generally."

"How? Not that I lie, but I just don't know how you can say what you say."

"You mean voice what I want?"

"Yes." It was then it hit me. I wanted that. To be able to say what I wanted. Put a voice to my fears. My desires. My everything. To have someone actually listen.

"It's a matter of worth over value," he said. "Any given thing has a value. I just decide what it's worth to me to keep that value."

He took a step forward.

"For example, you have a value. My silence wasn't worth you walking away."

You know why I like control?" he said with venom in his voice. "Because, without it, little girls like you would get scared off."
"I'm not scared of you," I breathed.

Having read Joya Ryan's Brazen series and absolutely loving it, I jumped on the chance to read this new trilogy by her. This book was definitely very different from her other series, and if I'm being honest, very different from what I expected...and not at all in a bad way. It's an erotic, all-consuming, and emotional start to what looks to be an extremely intriguing trilogy that I am absolutely dying to see how it all comes together.
I wished for the thousandth time that I could just be someone else. Somebody braver. Somebody who mattered.

Lana is hoping to make associate at her father's firm; a father that doesn't seem to give her the time of date since his recent new marriage. She yearns for her father's affection, but more than that she yearns for his understanding and acceptance.

When she allows her friend to talk her into a blind date that doesn't end up showing up, she finds herself stranded at a bar. And when someone from her past that continues to haunt every waking minute of her present walks into the same bar, Lana is trapped. Not knowing where to run or hide and absolutely terrified, she finds herself enraptured by a pair of dark eyes and the enigmatic man that seems to affect her every living cell...
Those dark depths were drinking in everything I was, like he could see straight to the soul of me...

One of my very favorite things about this book had to have been Jack's intensity. The author does such an amazing job building that aspect that the pages practically vibrate with the undercurrent of everything that he is. And everything that is, is very much intense
The connection between them is pretty instantaneous and crackling with electricity. While typically I'm not a fan of the insta-anything, in the case here, it just worked.
He didn't stop. Didn't let up. Just took me. And I felt his power- wanted to drink it down like a potion, in hopes that maybe I would walk away with some myself.

Lana is a broken and damaged character in every sense of the word. But then at the same time there is also that's very endearing about her. You can't help but feel for her and what she's been through. Her father and step-family are absolutely atrocious. At times I couldn't even understand how a father could be so callous and cold towards his own daughter. It was maddening to read.

While the relationship between Lana and Jack is one that burns hot pretty much right away, I equal parts loved it and yet always found myself questioning certain aspects. Jack is intense in and out of the bedroom, and he is one swoon worthy hero...
The world around me seemed to close in until I was dying to have just a moment with him- to share in the same space, the same breath.
HE'S MY CATALYST.

But at the same time, I found myself questioning their quick connection, especially given Lana's past. I just couldn't connect to how someone that's been through what she has would be willing to lose almost every inhibition with a man that she barely knows. But then again, the author did an incredible job with showing the reader the intensity of their connection. At times I almost found myself feeling like I was inside Lana's head and can see how she would get so wrapped up in a man like Jack.
You agree to be with me and give me what I want, which is you. To fuck, to hold, to pleasure. I won't be gentle or soft or relaxed. I will expect you to obey and respond to me. I want your trust and I want your body and you will enjoy it."

There is one element of the story that I certainly didn't expect, or better yet This is a ploy spoiler, though you can read about it in the synopsis of book 2, but I'll spoiler tag it anyway. The shocking thing is that as much as I HATE reading about something like that usually, I'm actually invested so much in the story that I'm very curious to see it play out. But I definitely can't wait to see how it all resolves.

description

Lana is a broken woman who tries every day to overcome a tragic event from her past. She’s not close with her family - her mother forgot about her when she divorced Lana’s father and her father has ignored her from the moments he remarried. While Lana only wants affection and acceptance from him, he’s a selfish man who doesn’t seem to care much about his only daughter. One night, in a bar, when her blind date doesn’t end up showing up Lana meets Jack, a dark, enigmatic man who seems to be interested in her as much as she is in him. She’s drawn to this mysterious man and she responds to him like she never had with anyone else.

After their first encounter, Lana doesn’t expect to meet Jack again. She’s hesitant getting involved with him, but Jack is a powerful man who knows what he wants. And he wants Lana no matter what.

“Yours Tonight” is the first installment in Joya Ryan’s series, “Reign”. This was very different from what I’ve read so far from this author. It was more intense, more erotic and definitely more captivating than her other books.

I really felt for Lana. She’s damaged, but not damaged beyond repair. She is strong as she can be for a woman in her situation. Needless to say she’s vulnerable. She is shy, sweet and caring and she’s also inexperienced when it comes to men and relationships. Her character’s grow is well done and overall I liked her. However in my opinion she manages to forget too easily about her past and her issues. I would have liked the author to explore more this aspect of the story. It goes without saying the story felt a little rushed at times. Jack was pretty great as well. He’s an alpha male, intense, charismatic and like Lana I was intrigued by him from the beginning. He has his own baggage and he’s a little lost. He’s sweet and caring with Lana and I liked how he brings out the best in her. He only wants to protect her and keep her safe.

I enjoyed the intense, sexy interactions between them and the sexual innuendos were fun. The chemistry between them is off the charts and the sexy moments are hot as hell. While the premise is nothing new, the plot was interesting enough and I know I will read the other two books in the series.

Overall, a good read!

3.5 - "Give me a number." Stars.

Joya Ryan has a writing style that entices, her characters are alluring and her story lines are absorbing. I always find myself enjoying her books even more than I thought I would, I won't lie I have high expectations of this author, because she always delivers a beautifully written story.

"I seem to find myself engaged in a game I'm not ready to quit."

Yours Tonight is no exception to the above. Lana is an unusual character in that she is independent yet vulnerable, educated yet inexperienced, her past is something that has up to this point played a very active part in her future and the relationships she has.

"I'm done being afraid."

So when matched with a man like Jack Powell who exudes experience, power, strength and fortitude, you initially think that this woman is going to be totally out of her depth.

"I have never seen a more beautiful curve of a woman in my life."

Jack is carrying a lot of his own baggage around as well, and as their story progresses you realize these are two people trying to not let their pasts define who they are. As they become closer Jack's ghost's and Lana's issues start to play more of a part in the future they are trying to carve out together. Neither are that inclined to share with the other the full truth of what has happened to them, but the moments when they do are pretty heartfelt, but also as the book progresses a little heart breaking especially as the resulting revelations look like they are going to ultimately break them apart.

Joya has managed to weave a little bit of everything into this story to keep the reader on their toes and it certainly shows that in the way things turned out, as I did not see it coming. At all. I loved Jack and his intensity, the guy knows what he wants, and goes after it, but his sensitivity towards Lana where it mattered gave me the warm fuzzies. I liked Lana, but now I want to see her develop into the strong, confident woman that Joya is so accomplished in writing as the series proceeds, I can see the embers glowing in her spirit, I want them to now build up into a solid, true flame.

The only thing I did question was the speed in which Lana manages to get over things that you believe are initially going to give her pause in regards to her relationship with a man in general, it didn't really detract from my enjoyment of the story, but I would have liked a little more exploration and time taken with it at the beginning, it felt like initially the route taken may not be as plain sailing as a normal couple would take, but then it was never really explored further. This is however the beginning of a series so it may be explored further as the books progress.

"I just wanted to be strong on my own."

This book ends on a bit of a cliffy, but also offers a little glimpse into the direction in which Lana's life could potentially go in the second book in the Reign Series. Again, I have absolutely no idea how Joya plans to continue Lana's journey, and that makes me eager to read more of it.

"I always have time for my priorities."

(Source: I received a finished paperback copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Little, Brown Book Group.)

“It was obvious this man was all things alpha and in control. And prey or not, I was caught. And I liked it.”

This was an adult contemporary romance, featuring a girl who had been raped at 13.

Lana was a strong character, and had the sense to get out of a situation if she was feeling uncomfortable. I felt quite sorry for her and what she had been through, and I really, really disliked Brock.

The storyline in this was about Lana meeting a man called Jack, and starting up a romance with him, whilst still being hounded by her step-brother and rapist Brock. We also got some steamy sex scenes, and a hint of a love triangle.

The ending to this wasn’t really of the happily ever after variety, but that was kind-of expected by the tag line of ‘not every love story is meant to last’.

5 Sexy, Brilliant Stars!
Total Escape! This Book Sucked Me In and Wouldn't Let Go!

I was asked to read this title for review by a friend and I readily agreed after reading the blurb. It sounded intriguing and definitely like something I’d like. I wasn’t wrong. I started this book and before I knew it, an entire afternoon had passed and I was hitting the last page, wanting, NEEDING and eagerly anticipating more. I loved the story line. I loved the characters. I loved the bits of mystery and suspense woven in and I adored the romance. And I absolutely LOVED the sexy!

Story...
Jack Powell approaches Lana Case one night at a bar after a fight breaks out and he gallantly rides in like a white knight to her rescue. And thought she’s painfully shy, she goes to the safety of his house while she waits for her friend to pick her up. There’s an instant attraction on both sides but Jack has a darkness inside him that keeps him contained and Lana is trying to break free from her timid shell which she’s been hiding in since childhood.

These characters are a mystery and I loved peeling back the layers but even as layers are being lifted, more layers are being laid. The author’s writing was captivating and she did a fabulous job mixing a beautiful, lusty romance with intrigue and questionable circumstances, allowing the reader to get lost inside the pages, consumed by the story and enthralled by the characters.

Characters...
Lana is a bit in the naive side, greatly inexperienced in the ways of relationships and very unaware of her own sexuality. She’s hidden herself away from these experiences because of her past and watching her bloom and transform into a more assertive, stronger woman was breathtaking.

After getting off to a slow build, Lana and Jack were smokin’ hot together. Their resistance to become entangled only aided in my fascination of them as I watched their walls slowly crumble. They both have painful pasts they are trying to overcome and secrets they are hiding.

Jack brings out the best in Lana but Lana wants to be the same for him and in her attempt to get to know him, pushes and prods more than Jack is comfortable with . But I loved seeing him break little by little. He ‘s built this security wall around himself and his past that keeps his mind and heart protected. Lana slowly gets to the heart of Jack’s pain but then... well, you’ll just have to read to find out because this story didn’t end like you’d expect.

And then there’s Callum....

And I KNOW there’s more to the story of Jack and Cal and how Lana came to be in their sights.

And that ending?? Holy cow! Its going to KILL me to wait for the next book. This was my first book by this author but if her other books are anything like this one, I’m one-clicking them all! As for book two in this series, definitely count me in for release day because I’m so totally there!

Dear Yours Tonight!

I just want to say that it isn't you it's me. I felt from the beginning that this wouldn't work out. That we were too different, but I wanted to try working it out anyway. I mean, perhaps somewhere along the way we could perhaps find something in common. Perhaps I would be surprised and finding you so much better than I expected you to be.

But I'm sad to inform you that even though you throw in Callum in the story and made him a hot fireman so wasn't that enough for me.I wanted more than you could give me. I have already been through a white millionaire with a bad childhood in a book I read recently and that didn't work out so good either...

I'm sure other readers will find you so much more to their liking than I did. This was just never meant to be.

Sincerely
Magdalena

Seriously, if you don't know who Joya Ryan is then I highly suggest you start one-clicking her books now. Joya Ryan has suddenly became an author on my auto one-click list. After reading a couple of her books, I became an instant fan and in her newest book, Yours Tonight she has once again hooked me with this emotional, heartfelt, sexy and captivating read. This book completely surprised me on how Ms. Ryan was able to weave an emotional tale into a beautiful erotic romance of self-discovery and inner strength. The writing completely had me enraptured and invested with the characters. When a book can showcase the raw and emotional vulnerability of it's characters, then I knew this book couldn't be put down.

#YoursTonight

Yours Tonight was a book that had captured my attention right off the opening pages. What drew me into this storyline was the vulnerability of the heroine because Ms. Ryan allowed her readers to really FEEL the many emotions of a woman who craves to earn the love and affection of her father and a woman who is battling with her fears and insecurities. Lana is not your typical heroine which drew me to be emotionally invested in her because in all honesty she felt REAL with her issues, vulnerabilites, and her discovering that sometimes you have to let go.

This book chronicles the tale of Lana as she discovers a new side of her sexuality with the help of Jack Powell, who personafies an alpha male who needs CONTROL in all aspects of his life. Instead of being intimidated by his presence, Lana is drawn to Jack. He pushes Lana to her limits and yet allows her to feel safe, loved, and cared for. But just when Lana finally gets her chance at happiness, Jack pushes her away because he too is also dealing with an emotional past. When she finally found love, in an instant her world begins to fall apart. So will Jack finally come to his senses and realize that Lana is the one? Or will this new guy Cal pick up the pieces of Lana's broken heart? So who will walk away with Lana's heart?

#yourstonight1

What can I say but go read Yours Tonight because Joya Ryan has got me completely hooked with her amazing storytelling and writing. This book was sensual, romantic, erotic, sexy and emotional which is everything I look for in a book. I seriously can't wait to get my grabby hands on book 2 since I'm dying to know what happens next.

I just could not connect. It had everything I typical love in my love stories - two broken characters who come from tragic pasts. This did not work for me. The premise was there with the heroine and what happened to her when she was 13 years old and then you have the broken hero, who I originally thought I would love. However, the execution and then actions of the characters had me guessing everything.

Jack, the hero, first he came off as possessive and all alpha, but then he lost me. It felt like he was faking it. I love angst and not knowing how the hero actually feels for the heroine, but the execution and the anticipation of the story did not flow. It felt amateurish, Lana, the heroine, I am not sure what to think of her. Within a week she is kissing Jack which "awakens" something in her that she never felt before and then there was Cal, Jack's BFF, who she expressed the same feelings. Huh?? Lana was all over the place. (I don't think this is a love triangle, but honestly I felt like the characters were all over the place so I am not sure).

The only connection there was between Jack and Lana was good sex. Other than that, I have no idea what Jack saw in her. I have read many stories with broken heroines who suffered tragic pasts, but in most of those stories I understood and could see why the hero wanted them. With Lana, I have no idea what Jack saw in her.

Then there is Harper, the BFF, that makes the heroine do things out of her comfort zone and constantly suggests to her to have sex with some random guys. Harper confused me...one minute she is all "go out, meet some guy and just have sex" and then she is says "don't get close". I think Harper should have worried more about her own sex life. She had enough on her plate with the firemen she was messing around with. Not sure why her sex life was mentioned. I did not care about how men wanted her and could not get enough of her.

The ending or cliffy felt like manufactured drama and I love a good cliffy, but this one did nothing for me.

You may love this one and think differently of the characters than I do. Reading is subjective. This is what the characters were to me.

This book reminds me of Fifty Shades, millionaire with a damaged past and a naive, almost-virgin young woman, but, not as good or as captivating. My main problem is Lana. She's weak and trying to be stronger but, by the end of this book, she's not really weak anymore but she certainly is not strong either, just whiny about not being strong. I can't understand why Jack, much less Cal, would fall for her. It's not like she's super smart, funny or witty. All I'm getting is that she's naive and beautiful. There was stupid drama at the end of this book that frustrated me as well. That doesn't add to my opinion of her. Sadly, I just never felt the connection between Lana and Jack. It was too insta-love for me. The author does know how to write steamy scenes though. Those parts got me through this book. I'm still willing to read book 2, if nothing else than to read about Cal. Here's hoping book 2 will be better.

This book was given to me as an ARC for an honest review. I thought this book was really well written and captured my attention immediately. The characters are complex and really grab you and won't let go. The storyline was great and flowed really well. Also the sexy times were so steamy I thought my kindle would catch fire. I didn't like how it ended with jack but I liked Cal being brought back into the picture. I won't say too much to ruin it but this book was definitely enjoyable and I can't wait to read the next installment.

It started promising but .. The characters didn't seem to know exactly what they want and I didn't feel the connection between Jack and Lana. I didn't like that Lana responded to Cal the same way she responded to Jack .. it made the hero seem not very special. The ending was lame .. really really lame and it made Jack lose any appeal he might have had. Overall it wasn't bad and I did enjoy it but it was disappointing.

A slow beginning but half way through it picked up pace. Two strong, interesting and flawed men, Jack and Callum. The female character, Lana is finding her strength and hope. I'm intrigued to see where the sequel will take Lana's story.

Don't you just love it when you come across a new author (to you anyway) and immediately fall head over heels with the writing style. Well that's what happened to me with Joya Ryan and Yours Tonight. This book is what has been missing from my TBR. It's hot, it's sexy and most of all it gives you the ride of your life thanks to Jack Powell.

Lana is living in the shadow of a life that her past has prevented her from living. That is until she unexpectedly meets Jack and her life changes for the better. From first sight, Jack recognises the haunted look in Lana's eyes and is immediately drawn to her but little does he know that getting involved with her will mean revealing his own secrets. He tries to resist Lana but pushing her away has little effect.

‘Push me away, Lana.’ ‘No,’ I whispered. He took another step. ‘Push. Me. Away.’ ‘No,’ I said more firmly.

Despite her past, Lana is determined to achieve her goals in life but after her stepbrother, Brock, returns to Denver unexpectedly things change in Lana's life as she relives experiences that she has long since buried. With Jack's help though, Lana starts to find an inner strength to fight her demons but not without bringing her paranoia back to the forefront of her mind.

Jack is strong, controlling, domineering and just what Lana needs in her life, someone to trust, but will he be able to trust her not to deceive him. Jack is just what every girls needs, someone to sweep her off her feet with naughtiness and temptation!

Weaving his tongue in and out like a lusty dance, taking and demanding, I realized he wasn’t kissing me. He was consuming me. As if I were edible and made of sugar, he licked, sucked, and bit.

The supporting cast are as intriguing as the main characters. From the delicious Cal, a fireman and best friend of Jack, to Harper, the mysterious friend of Lana's who has her own secrets, we get to enjoy each and everyone of the main players who are likely to feature heavily in this series. The darkness comes from Lana's stepmother and stepbrother who are determined to break her down and ruin her life.

I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this series, if it is anything like book 1 it will be a non-stop read with heat and intensity by the bucket load!!!

“I wanted more. Wanted to be more. Wanted that powerful heat that started with a look, a kiss, and surged through my veins, leaving me feeling hot and strong. I got a taste of that last week. I needed the heat. Craved it.”

I was asked by a good friend and fellow book lover to give this book a try. Since she and I have similar taste I figured, even though I had never read a Joya Ryan book before, why not? Now, to up the fun even more I decided to go in completely blind and not read the synopsis or any of the reviews for the book. I don’t do this often because I like to know what I am getting myself into but I will tell you I was completely surprised and excited for what I got.

“Stop thinking, there’s nothing to be sorry about. Feeling you come, tasting it, is the highlight of my fucking year.”

All I knew about this book going in was the tagline “Not every love story is meant to last . . . “ Wow, ok now that doesn’t sound HEAish at all so I was a bit worried. I did know that this was book one in a trilogy so I did have some hope for an HEA by the end. I won’t ruin it and tell you how that goes but I survived the tagline.

“On a scale of one to ten how nervous do I make you feel?” “Five,” ” And is it a hot or cold nervous?” “Hot.”
Having read Fifty Shades of Grey, Bared To You, This Man and many others along those lines I will say that this story fits right into that genre. Lana is a young twenty something girl with little experience who because of an event n her past is skittish around men and very innocent sexually. Jack Powell is the CEO of his company, confident and loves control. He does seem to have one weak spot and that is for the young innocent girl he met in a bar and instantly felt a connection too.

“Give me a number.”

While all men make Lana nervous, Jack makes her a new and exciting kind a nervous. As he likes to say it a Hot nervous not a Cold nervous. Soon she finds out that her new summer job happens to be at his company and she doesn’t seem to know if this scares or excites her. These two have amazing chemistry. When Lana is around dominating Jack seems to soften just a bit and Closed off and Innocent Lana opens up and finally starts living life with Jack guiding her.

“Understand one thing: I will push your limits, but I will never hurt you.”

Joya’s writing was exciting and captivating. I read this book straight through in one sitting, much to dismay of my hungry family. I needed to know how all the drama and secrets played out and if these two people who to me felt like they needed to be together could get past it all or if the tag line was true and some loves can’t last. I will say after looking the other books up I am very happy that she is releasing them quickly and I for one will be early awaiting their arrival on my kindle.

“I was his captive. And I liked it.”

Lana grew up with a screwed up family dynamics that left her broken and weary but after meeting Jack, things change for her. He seems to have given her strength to fight for what she deserves in life. But now that she’s got the feel for being treasured, she wants more. Unfortunately, Jack has his issues to sort out and not quite ready to give her what she wants.

Lana is smart and driven when it comes to her career. I liked her, and I felt bad for her and her situation. Despite the abuse from her family, she stuck in there waiting for approval that would never come. It’s about time she breaks free of that mess. Thanks to Jack’s controlling tendencies, he helped her overcome her problems and become stronger. Believe it or not, even empowered.

Jack, on the other hand, I feel like I didn’t get enough of. Yes, on the surface, it’s obvious that he is the rich, handsome and maybe even the brooding hero, but there’s more to him than meets the eye. Up until the end, The mystery of why he does things was a mystery to me. Another thing is Lana and Jack’s relationship. It was hot and intense, but it came a bit too fast. A little more time together would have been nice, and I think that goes getting to know Jack as well. I need more. Fortunately, next two installments are already available to read.

Being that Reign is a trilogy, I expected some kind of big cliffhanger at the end of the book. There is one, but it wasn’t too bad, in my opinion. Obviously, we can expect that the story is not done by any means. I do expect the plot to get a whole lot thicker in the second installment where Ms. Ryan brings in the competition. There’s not much angst yet in this book, but you know Cal will be in the picture. Frankly, I like this superhero. He is the complete opposite of Jack. Flirty, light-hearted, funny and definitely less intense. I love Cal’s easy banter and smooth talks full of innuendos. I’m just not sure how I will deal with the love triangle and Cal being Jack’s BFF. I wonder how much angst Ms. Ryan will bring to the next book. Nevertheless, I’m excited to find out.

Overall, Yours Tonight is a great start to a love triangle trilogy. It was a fast read but heavy on the steam factor making it perfect for a summer read.

Loved this book!! At first it was a little slow but still keep my interest. Lana and Jack both have had terrible things happen to them growing up. While Jack has learned how to take control, Lana is still struggling to learn. With the help of Jack she learns how to be stronger and to stand up for herself. While I didn't care for how Jack left things I still like him. Lana got on my nerves a little I still understood why she was the way she was. Her family are A**holes in every way. I really liked Cal. Can't wait to read book 2.

I read this book without reading the blurb first so wasn’t sure what to expect and well I really enjoyed it but I have to say the blurb doesn’t really match the story for me oddly. It appears to be the first in a series and I am already looking forward to the next book to see how the lead character Lana fares in the next stage of her life as it has a rather quirky ending that I wasn’t expecting but on looking at the tagline again then I should have really.

We meet Lana as she is waiting for a blind date in a bar where she meets the enigmatic Jack Powell *sigh* after a scuffle breaks out. We soon learn Lana has issues following a traumatic event in her early teen years (this I feel warrants that this book really needs a warning that it may contain triggers for some) and is living her life in a protective shell afraid to push out as she has been so badly let down by those around her.

However, Jack Powell is a force to be reckoned with and something in him makes Lana want to break out of her shell and embrace all he has to offer her for as long as he is offering it. Jack is HOT, sexy, and so very mysterious that you just know he has his own secrets that keep him closed off but he is the kind of guy that goes after what he wants and he wants Lana.

There is a great build up to the relationship between Lana and Jack in the book and even a possible triangle brought into play, the sex scenes are very hot and are perfectly delivered. Then just as you think things may work out, despite Lana’s naive ways and her pushing for more too quickly, other factors come to play in their relationship and everything begins to unravel as lies are exposed. I really was not expecting the ending or the epilogue and I am left needing the next book now already.

Great read from an author I haven’t read before but I will definitely be buying more of her books as it is a flawless read.

As self diagnosed book addict I read like a scary amount of books some of them have been great some have been meh! But as a book addict there's nothing more thrilling as when I get the book butterfly's and what I mean by book butterfly's is as soon as you begin the book you know it's gona be so good an instantly the world around you ceases to exist you become so lost in your book that literally hours could have flown by and you wouldn't even notice now I've loved a lot of books but only a few have given me the butterfly's I'm talking 50 shades, bared to you, thoughtless etc.so when I was lucky enough to receive an arc of Yours Tonight and as a fan of Joya Ryan I was already excited but as soon as I started the book I instantly started getting the butterfly's!! I adored this book it had everything I need in a great book drama, angst loveable heroine seriously hot dominant hero, this is the story of Lana something traumatic happend to Lana when she was teenager now don't roll your eyes and say I've read it all before, normally I would be the first person to say same story different book but something was just different about lana's story I don't know if it's because she was such an adorable character or its just the way joya tells a story but I didn't care.we start off when Lana has found herself stood up by her blind date and is and is rescued by the extremely hot jack when a little fight brakes out now Lana is fragile and lacks confidence due to her past but there's about jack that slowly brings her out of her shell and so starts the beginning of an amazing relationship between the two,I loved jack he was the perfect mix of alpha & loving,i loved how protective he was of Lana but so incredibly dominant.now I have to warn you this book does end on a bit of cliffhanger but trust me when I say it's totally worth it and all I have to say is Joya Ryan I need book 2 now!!!

Lana Case is this painfully shy, socially awkward outcast who just happens to be thrown in the path of Jack Powell, the handsomely intense, hottest business owner in all of Colorado. They quickly become an item, and the chemistry is just as intense as Jack Powell himself. He takes Lana on a journey of finding her strength and self-worth, and because of his belief in her; she’s able to discover the courage needed to finally address the skeletons of her past.

I love the way Lana was written. She was as unfiltered as they came, and as quick as the thought formed in her head, the words were already escaping her mouth. But Jack welcomed her quirky characteristics and taught her to embrace them. He taught her to never be embarrassed to say what she thought.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve read about a man with all the right characteristics. Jack was strong, demanding, and forceful when needed. He set his sights on something, and took what he wanted.

Which was precisely what he did with Lana.

Of course she was okay with such an act, but can a man like this be trusted? What is going to happen when he grows tired of her? Would he discard her as quickly as he acquired her? These are all factors to take into consideration while dealing with a handsomely mysterious, and powerful man such as Jack Powell.

There was so much emotion put into this book that it’s pretty much impossible not to shed a tear. Ugh, when Lana told Jack she was a 10, cold, I swear, my heart broke for both of them. I am totally not okay with the ending of this story, but I am hopeful to learn what happens with book two.

I don't even know where to begin with this. Wow, guys, just wow! I can't wait for you to read this.

Quiet mousy Lana is sitting in a bar after being blown off on a blind date. A fight ensues with a man swooping in to save her. As she is thanking the man who saved her she spots someone from her past that throws her into a tail spin. Out knight in armor, Jack, helps her escape once again.

Jack unleashes something in her that makes her want to be strong and brave and Jack finds that Lana also pushes something in him he didn't realize he wanted or needed.

"This time, I was fighting for him, for myself, and for the passion I hadn't realized existed in me."

At the same time she meets Cam. When Lana decides to open up herself both men disappear. But Jack comes back. He is alpha male with a capital 'A'. They start a relationship of sorts. He understands that she has a past that haunts her and Jack is also closed off to his past.

Can they open up to each other? Will they make a real relationship work? Will Cam come back and interfere with the mix? Will they be able to share their pasts and overcome them?

Let me just say I am team Jack all the way. This book will make you want to throw your e-reader or paperback. To me that is a sign of an awesome book! This is a must read and I can't wait to dive into Yours Completely Reign 2

When I started this book I was told it was an emotional roller coaster but they let out gripping, grueling, fantastic and HOT as HELL !!

Everyone has a past that we try to forget and never speak of whether is it a good memory or bad...but when the bad ones come back to haunt you, you never know how you will react. When Lana Case sees her past in a bar does she run, cry or does a wall of a man hide her from her past. Jack Powell sees a situation that has him coming to Lana's side to shield her something that he has co clue what it is but her expressions, body language and the fear on her face that she might need a friend at that moment. But little did they both know was that they both had pasts that would help them become one, as friends, as workers and then as lovers.

But will Jack be able to tell Lana his skeletons in his closet, will Lana be able to tell Jack who is the person she fears most and will Call and Harper be able to put them together again or will work and fears tear them apart for good.

This is the beginning of another awesome sex and hot series for Joya !! I can't wait for the next chapter in these character lives and can time bring peace and comfort and LOVE to them ALL ...... Hanging on by a thread waiting !!

ARC REVIEW ***SPOILERS***

OMG! I am in book heaven! This story was amazing. I am a big fan of Joya Ryan, but if I wasn't this would have sealed the deal. These characters are so complex and intoxicating. They both have sordid, dark pasts and are each trying to overcome those pasts. Jack is a self made man. Raised by a father he didn't know until his mother's death at age 8, he has had to work for what he wants. Lana has a very sad and tragic past. Her father didn't believe her. He has not cared about her in so long, much less looked after her or tried to protect her. She meets Jack and instantly knows there is something about him. He helps her to unlock her sexuality that has been buried for so long. It is not something to be feared with him. When dark truths come to light, can their relationship survive?

I am anxiously awaiting the next book! This was one of the best stories I have had the pleasure of reading and can't wait to see where their story leads!

This book is AMAZING! This was my first Joya Ryan book, and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised at how much the story affected me. I got so wrapped up in the story line that I lost track of time last night and ended up reading until the wee hours of the morning.

This book is beautifully written, and full of intensity that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. At times its almost as if you can literally feel the spark of sexual tension between the characters. Callum has been lingering with me all day, and now I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the second book so I can continue this wonderfully addictive story!

I was giving this as an ARC from the amazing Joya Ryan for an honest review.

From the minute you start reading this novel, you know that you are on an emotional roller-coaster. The chemistry between the two main characters hooks you from the start, the desire the urge and need for each other gets under your skin. Let's not leave out the fact that Jack is one hot main man, who knows what he wants and gets it.

This book has everything, it's raw, emotional and sexy as hell and will leave you breathless at the end craving for more .

Joya has created another amazing serious here and I can't wait to read the next instalment.

Joya had me hooked from the very beginning. Lana's character tugged at my heart and made me want to slay her dragons. Enter Jack... Sexy, dominant, powerful, with a past filled with his own darkness.

The storyline flowed so beautifully with love scenes that were beyond steamy. We were treated to lots of information on Lana and Jacks past, for which I am grateful.

I loved Cal, the wild card, and can not wait to see where he fits in with book 2.

Loved this read!

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, I have read all of Joya Ryan's books and knew I would enjoy this one as well, but what I wasn't expecting... This series to be one of my favorites... EVER!
This is very emotionally intense, sexually charged, suspenseful roller coaster of a story between two characters.
If you loved the Crossfire Series, 50 Shades and Fixed On You then you will love this book. This book is "10-hot!".
