Rate this book

* You don't have to read the other books in this series, they are not connected.

Despite Lilo having the proper documentation to prove she has adopted Stitch, the Galactic Federation does not believe her and especially after Stitch's destructive rampage on Earth, they are certain Stitch is to dangerous to keep on Earth. To keep her ohana together, Nani will travel with Stitch to the distant planet of Turo and prove to the Galactic Federation that Stitch can obey and is a part of their family. Through a series of tests and challenges they have to prove their compatibility, but they could not have imagined the forces working to prove them wrong.

Pro's:
+ Taking the 'Lilo & Stitch' story to actual space is kind of a genius move and I think it is one of the only ways to pull this Twisted Tale story off. The change of setting created an compelling story and works really well for this franchise.
+ The pacing of this story is really nice, the author keeps reminding us of the timeline and there is a great balance between action scenes and bits where we dive deeper in the bond between stitch and Nani.

Con's:
- Focusing more on Nani then on Lilo is very weird seeing the franchise and even though it was done very well, I think this book got too far away from the original concept. Making Nani the leading character here did not really work and therefore this story felt a bit confusing to me.

I don't think this Twisted Tale worked for me, mostly I think because it was so far of the original concept. It would have been fun to see more of Lilo and Stitch together, but they are separated in this story and Lilo is just a side character. It made this story feel a bit off and even though the premise of this story taking place in actual space was fun, the complete picture was a bit chaotic and hard to keep up with the story. This was not the best book in this series and I was a bit disappointed, Lilo and Stitch are otherwise so much fun.

I loved every minute of it. Sometimes these books, coming as an avid disney fan, can be a little hard when the plot switches but this wasn’t one of those cases. I loved that the book picked up where the movie left off which is never really does so we see what happened AFTER councilwoman let stitch stay. Nani knew how important Stitch was to Lilo so she made sure to do everything in her ability to keep him for her. Even if that means going to space to prove she can “control” him despite their differences. In that time they understand each other and work through it for the sake of Ohana. Gantu was a A-hole in the movie and in the book trying to manipulate Stitch so he can “win” 🙄 Nani took a chance and saved him which ultimately made her pass and I loved this book so damn much. Best alternate ending!!

I miss when this series was an actual twist on a Disney tale, rather than just sequels or completely new stories like they seem to be now…

Instead of Stitch being allowed to stay on Earth, like in the movie, Nani and Stitch need to complete three tasks on an alien planet to prove they can work together - but not everything is as it seems…

There were times I was super bored and wanted to stop reading it, to be honest - but then 3/4 of the way through, it got a little better so I kept reading.

Will I ever read it again? No, so it’ll be donated to the library.

Beginning on the island of Kau’i, Marshal Gordius insists on a trail.
Nineteen year old Nani Pelekai and Stitch(626) are taken to space and the planet city of Turo, where Nani and Stitch have to cooperate and work together.

David and Lilo stowaway onboard the same spacecraft and have their own side adventure.

Good book. It does expand on Nani’s backstory and Lilo being born. Really funny where the galactic federation thought vampires exist on earth. No wonder why the Twisted Tale book is more on Nani than Lilo and it’s all because she’s too young to enter space. It also mentions Cobra Bubbles past else well.

This is not a twisted tale but a sequel and like the film it is chaotic and weird but readable. The best parts was Stitch but mainly this was about Nani playing the heroine.
