** 3 "what was I thinkin" STARS **
“You’re all I see, Emma. Doesn’t matter if I’m looking at you or not. You’re everywhere. All the time. Under my skin. In my blood.”
Freshly having graduated from Stanford and dreaming of teaching at a DC high school, Emma is not exactly happy to have to spend her last free summer at her soon-to-be stepfather's ranch in Montana.
Emma will feel even less happy when she realizes that the shirtless sexy-as-hell man with the cowboy hat that she eye-f*cked vigorously when she first arrived at the ranch is, in fact, her new stepbrother, Ford.
Emma will feel almost unhappy when she catches him in the barn, with a naked woman kneeling on the floor while he is cracking a riding crop on her bare ass.....and likes what she is seeing!
Ford had been trying to get rid of the pent-up tension his new stepsister built when he got interrupted by the reason of all his recent problems herself! When Emma flees inside the house and leaves Ford in the barn, all he can think about is going after her to spank the sh*t out of her...and that's exactly what he intends to do.

Good, but Could Have Been Great!
The Review:
When I hit the last page of this book and realized I needed to write my review, I was stuck for what to say, so bare with me as I try to get my point across.
I enjoyed this read for the most part but also found it lacking in some areas. I loved the ranch/cowboy/BDSM/Dom aspect. That was new and fresh to me so I liked the setting. I liked the light feel of this book, especially given it’s theme.
I love taboo reads and this one teetered on the cusp of being forbidden, enough so that it was exciting and fun. The hero and heroine are about to become step-siblings under their parents impending wedding and have never met. And when they do actually become step-siblings, it’s too late to disregard the attraction between the two of them, so that was very well done. I also enjoyed the Dom/sub/BDSM play. Ford found some interesting places to take Emma and he was commanding yet falling hard as Emma found her way into his heart. Emma was sweet and down to Earth and very connectable. She had goals and aspirations and just because she found love, she didn’t waver in what she wanted.
However, this book just didn’t ignite any spark inside me. With all the sexy talk and lusty play, I never got butterflies and I’m pretty sure it’s because there was very little character development, especially on Ford's part. Yes, he’s sexy and dominant, but we know next to nothing about him other than he’s smokin’ hot. He came from Silicon Valley but what did he do and what was his life like before he became a cowboy, a lifestyle he seemed to adapt to quite well? What about his mom? What about past relationships? How did he get into the Dom life? We know more about Emma but again, her character still wasn’t fleshed out enough for me. I think I know more about her mom and her sudo-rival, Celeste, than I do about Emma.
So, overall it was a good read and filled my afternoon. I enjoyed the sexy. I enjoyed the story. There was a small bit of angsts but I still wanted “more feeling”. I enjoyed the theme and the setting but I didn’t find myself “caring” about them like I wanted. And when the truth about them came out, I would have liked to have at least seen the reactions from their parents. There was a pretty significant built up but it was glossed over and all we got was that they were okay and happy about it.

Well, this one was surprisingly good. It had all the ingredients needed to make it good, and, unlike many in its category, it actually delivered. Crazy, I know.
One alpha male, a heroine who doesn't let people walk all over her, a dom who doesn't leave someone bound (that seems like common sense, but trust me, it's not) dirty talk and the touch of taboo to make it all the more interesting.
As long as you don't get into this one with grand expectations, you should be fine.

This was a very enjoyable and steamy story.
Emma goes to stay with her mum and her soon to be step-father at his ranch. There she meets a hot sexy guy called Ford who she later finds out is gonna be her stepbrother. Ford doesn't believe Emma's mothers motive is love. He doesn't believe in insta-love. However that all changed when Ford meets Emma.
A taboo subject, forbidden love and insta-love. It's all in this book and its a great read.

This is the first book by this author for me and won't be my last.
We start off with Emma who is getting ready to embark on her new career that will take her to California, but the summer before she starts her new teaching job , she is due to spend her summer in Montana , with her mom and her future husband. Emma AirTunes at the farm which her mom is living and will be marrying in a few short days, what she sees when she arrives shocks her to the core.
Emma is taken back by the mansion in front of her but.... More than that the Hot shirtless cowboy who is staring at her makes her knees week.
Ford is the son of Emma's moms fiancé he enters the home and lets just say things get Awkward his attitude is very gruff and Emma wants to slap him Upside the head and now she is questioning how she will last the whole summer in this house with the gruff, arrogant and very sexy soon to be Stepbrother.
While outside one night Emma wanders to the barn when she hears sounds , what she witnessed is not what she expected ,seeing her Stepbrother engaging in some activity which is so "Let's say not the way she expected a cowboy to use Ropes.
The chemistry between Ford and Emma is off the charts but Emma is determined that this can not continue for fear of how their parents will react when they get back.
Tensions flair and we get a bit of angst here while these two try to decide if this is just a week fling or will it be strong enough to risk confronting everyone and see if it can work out.
Ford tests Emma's boundaries and releases a part of Emma which surprises her. Soon Emma is so confused but one thing for sure she yearns to call her Stepbrother "Master"
I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.

Wow just wow! This is one hot steamy sticky read that I just couldn't put down! Emma is on her way to visit her mom and attend her moms wedding! Her mom has been married a few times but swears this is the one man she'll be with for the rest of her life! So Emma is going to spend the summer with her Mom, new stepdad and stepbrother! What she doesn't know yet is that her new stepbrother is sizzling smoking hot and he's a Dom!
Ford lives with his dad on their ranch that he now runs! His dad's getting married to a woman who he's only known for a week! So Fords not convinced that his soon to be new stepmom is out for love but for money instead! Who falls in love in a week! Then he meets the beautiful stepsister that's come to visit her mom!

5 Romantic-&-Sexy-Stars! ☆☆☆☆☆
I loved the whole cowboy-stepbrother-on a ranch theme. Ford was sexy as hell! Every girl's dream and i enjoyed the dual POV a lot. Seeing the story from his and Emma's side made it more romantic and heart breaking at times.

The sex scenes were hot! I liked the beginning the most, when their parents went on their honeymoon and Emma & Ford spent the week together, f#%king each other's brains out. :)

Shirtless cowboys with sweat glistening on the bodies in the sun!!!! What else can be said?
I have to say I absolutely loved Emma and Ford!! I love a brooding smouldering cowboy, who can't resist them!!!! Seeing Cowboys, or men in general, in chaps....yuuummmmyyy!!! Emma is such a strong female presence, though sometimes I find the strong women are so naïve. There is such a vulnerability about Emma especially when she starts falling for Ford.
The book is well written and Ms Jackson just knows how to suck you in and keep you reading until you can't see any more!! I look forward to reading more of Ms Jackson's books!!

This was a great little story. For those of you who let the title scare you, get over it and read the book. This was a romance. Oh yes, there was some light bondage and spanking, but the romance overshadowed all. The instant attraction, the slow build up, the guilt, the smoking hot love scenes, the final realization that this was more than lust. The supporting characters were also fab. I can't wait for the next book, soon I hope.

Let's get the negative out of the way first because Ava oh Ava you broke one of the cardinal sins...... you repeated complete scenes just done in a different POV - some of those scenes are verbatim too - this was an instant loss of a star. This doesn't happen all the way through but the beginning I would say 25% does and some more later on. Writing this way is so frustratingly annoying for the majority of readers to read.
Now in the blurb it says she's dying to call her Stepbrother... Master and yet not once does she do so. I wasnt feeling the dynamics of a master/sub relationship at all with Ford and Emma. For me it felt more like an assertive male and a girl discovering she likes a bit of kink.
I can't deny the attraction between them, Ava wrote that extremely well, Ava also depicts her surroundings really well too. I really felt I was on that Montana ranch and breathing that fresh air. I truly think if they had been less scene repeats and more in depth relationship building this would be a knockout book as it stands it is a good read and a pleasant piece of escapism and it certainly won't have you thinking you've wasted your money but it may leave you wanting a bit more from Ford and Emma than you got. I think it's a quick read that would have benefitted being longer and more exploratory on their dynamics, the Dom part was almost there but then Ford didn't truly seem an enforcer of being in charge as Emma often seemed to take charge or in Dommy talk - she topped from the bottom.
I think also the timeline was far too fast and many peeps don't like Insta love and this feels extreme Insta - but at the same time I couldn't quite work out how far into the 3 months of summer we'd actually got before the ending? My heart tells me it was near the 3 months but my factual head argues it felt like only 3 weeks.....
I am intrigued to read the next book coming from Avery with Ford's brother taking centre stage. I can't deny Ava's writing is indeed visual and well written and if I'm truthful I'd like to beta read His Plaything in the hope I can dissuade Ava from scene repeating if that happens again.
I feel a good solid 3.5 star read, I liked it and some of the time really liked it. I would recommend for a hot summer ranch style read and enjoyable piece of escapism.

3 1/2 Stars. I enjoyed this story, it was a good mix of sweet and tempting. Emma has arrived in Montana to stay with her mother and her future step-father for three months. After her stay she plans on teaching at an inner-city high school in D.C. I am really digging this new wave of stepbrother romances... and this book was all of that with a few twists to help it stand apart. This book was crazy good. It was sexy, sweet, naughty, forbidden, and so steamy I am surprised my kindle didn't simultaneously burst into flames. This book does have a happy ending and is a standalone so indulge yourself into some forbidden pleasure.
This is Emma and Ford's story. Emma has a plan... spend three months at her mother's new home then move to the city to start her new job. She doesn't expect her sexy new stepbrother or the forbidden feelings she feels for him. When she walks in on an erotic scene with him and another woman, she wants him like no other. She wants to submit to him. Ford doesn't want to like his new stepsister but he has a serious hard on for her, literally and figuratively. When these two come together the passion ignites. Can they really work? Can Emma submit to Ford?
Oh Ford you were such a naughty boy. Yes he is a Dom (hence the Master in the title) and he is good with ropes. He can whip you and tie you up like no other cowboy can. And Ford didn't care where he took Emma, good gracious his farm has seen action all over it! But aside from his crazy sex skills, he was also sweet and soft with Emma. And I really liked Emma. She battled her feelings but finally accepted it and embraced it. She also had a heart of gold when she could have been as cold as ice. And these two had ton of chemistry and were panty-melting hot between the sheets.
I highly recommend this book.

Not too bad. I enjoyed this book. There are parts to this book that I think are over done but all in all its a great short story. Or it felt short to me.
We get a sexy Dom Cowboy who loves his BDSM and of course his a total asshole. But hello his hot and all sexy and all Cowboy so I guess we can over se the assholeness. Emma is the stepsister who instantly finds her stepbrother hot and irresistible. These two want each other but fight it. Once these two decide to give it a go the book gets hotter! You get some good smut scene in this book. And you get Ford aka the cowboy as a Dom. I found the story interesting maybe the insta love thing was a bit too much. I mean it does all happen within weeks. On her summer vacation to her mothers new husbands mansion. But all in all I think the book is well written and I would love to read book 2.

Wow! Ford and Emma are super hot and sexy. Ford is a sexy, hot Dom. Emma catches a glimpse of a scene that Ford is in the middle of. She interrupts the scene, infuriates Ford with the interruption and runs to her bedroom to hide from him. She doesn't completely understand what she has just witnessed, but knows it turned her on and that confuses her even more.
When Emma's Mom and Ford's Dad go on their honeymoon, heat rises, feelings emerge, guilt rears it's self up, misunderstandings occur. The chemistry between these two characters is amazing. Emma's innocence and Ford's dominance bring out the sweetest of this time together. Their feelings for each other evident, but how can they have this kind of relationship when they are stepbrother and stepsister? There's a whole lot of love, lust, trust and guilt for you discover in this book. Love it.

I loved this book. It's got a hot alpha male, that's sexy as hell. Ford knows what he wants and he's used to getting it. When he meets the girl that takes his breathe away, he's determined to show her what she needs. The chemistry between them will have you hot and bothered. Ava Jackson's debut novel is definitely worth reading! I can't wait or her next book to come out.

I received a copy of this book from Deliciously Wicked Books for an honest review. There's a lot of Stepbrother books out there right now and I have read a couple of other ones. But this one was good. It was hot, steamy and an interesting story that kept me reading. The writing was good, the story flowed really smoothly.
Emma and Ford were drawn to each immediately, sparkles flew. Theirs was not a normal romance. There was a lot of guilt of being found out by their parents. But regardless of the guilt they had a very steamy romance.
The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the first couple of chapters seemed to repeat word for word, just in a different POV. But that didn't draw away from me loving the book. I would definitely read the next one in the series.

Holy amazing!!! I don't think I took a breath while reading this story at all it was one of those that are really extremely hard to put down no matter what. It was Hott really really hott, all alpha male and great looking. It was a love story like no other. The author knew what she was doing writing this one and being able to catch the readers attention within the first few pages.

Emma has recently graduated from college and travels to Montana to attend her mother's wedding. There she meets her stepbrother Ford, and she is instantly attracted to him. After walking in on Ford and a woman in a very compromising situation in the stables, Emma can't stop thinking about him. Ford actually feels the same way and shows her he has some very particular tastes in the bedroom.
I found STEPBROTHER MASTER to be enjoyable and well written. The story could have been a bit more original though. Nothing really remarkable, but I still recommend it!

Yet another great Stepbrother story! If you let the STEP bother you or think it's taboo...your really missing out on some great stories being written lately. :)
Once you start reading this you won't be able to put it down til the very end! Emma heads to the ranch life for the summer to help her Mom get ready for her wedding to the ranch owner. Once the wedding is over and her mom and step dad head off to there honeymoon...then the fun really begins between Emma and her new step brother. But is her mom the only one that can fall in love at first site?

This was a great, quick read. The characters were relatable and fun. They both did some learning. Ford learned that appearances can be deceiving and Emma learns that she has submissive tendencies. What starts out as not her ideal way to spend the summer quickly becomes the way of her future. The emotions between these two characters develop very quickly. What starts out as a little fun, quickly turns in to something they are not willing to live without.
