Imprisoned and Rejected Bookish Mate of the Lycan King: A Rejected Mate Secret Baby Shifter Romance

Rate this book
I fell through a portal and landed in a Lycan King’s dungeon.
Now he’s saying I’m his fated mate,
and the only way out is to marry him for a year.

I’m just a broke bartender who head-butted a creep and needed a fresh start.
I did not sign up for a growly, possessive lycan alpha who locks me up, then has the audacity to propose a wedding.

Viktor is dangerous. Brooding.
And has abs I could grate cheese on.
Not that I noticed..

He growls when other males breathe in my direction.
Watches me like I’m already his.
Offers me a deal I can’t refuse.

“Marry me for one year. Then you’re free.”

“You’re jealous,” I tell him. “Admit it.”

“Jealousy implies emotional attachment,” he says stiffly. “This is an arrangement.”

Right. An arrangement.
That’s why he’s completely, ridiculously obsessed with me.
That’s why he pins me against trees and whispers filthy promises until I’m begging for more.
That’s why he marks my neck so everyone knows I’m claimed.

I forget this was supposed to be fake.

Until he rejects me.
Severs our bond.

And when I go to confront him?
Another woman answers his bedroom door in lingerie.

Then I realize I’m pregnant.

Now the king who threw me away says he’d give up his throne for me.
He’s begging, groveling.
Swearing he’ll spend forever earning me back.

Too bad I haven’t decided if he deserves a second chance...
or if I’ll burn his kingdom down on my way out.

yet another virgin heroine x ran-through hero pairing

Of course…let’s make the heroine a stereotypical virgin who becomes clingy after doing the deed. I liked Courtney until she fell headfirst into Viktor then she became unbearable. Viktor’s not any better but with these types of stories what else is new? I just keep hoping time and again that the authors would switch up the traits and personalities of their heroine, but it’s literally a copy and paste in every book—that is, a doormat who falls first and says thank you when the hero wipes the bottom of his dirty shoe on her entire being. Yawn.

As Expected

This book is well written and well edited. The characters are believable. There's some really good writing in that you can get fully invested in the relationship that the characters have.
I wish the scenery of a new kingdom and new world had had the same attention as the story.
If you have been reading this series for a while you know what the basic story line is and if you are like me you want more descriptive writing in the new realms and each kingdom. I also wanted more humor in this book.
All in all it was exactly as expected, something that seems Formula based writing than inspiration but still manages to deliver .
