Detective Adam “The Scarface” Markland was a hater. He hated his life, his job, and probably himself, but more than that, he hated his partner, Detective Jordan Slade. He hated the sight of him, the sound of his voice, and his citrusy scent, which always made Adam breathe more deeply than needed. That was why having to share a prison cell with his partner wasn’t just a predicament for Adam Markland. It was hell. How did two cops end up locked behind bars in the company of thugs, thieves, and murderers? Call it a combination of stupid decisions, cursed destiny, and rotten luck. Not to mention that Adam’s insomnia had gotten out of hand… until he woke up next to his partner one day and realized he slept like a baby. It meant two things. First, Adam found the cure for his insomnia. Second, Adam hated the cure for his insomnia.

Detective Jordan “The Shadow” Slade was a doer. He did everything by the book, he followed the rules, and he got along with everyone except Adam Markland. That guy hated him since the moment they met, and Jordan would have hated him back if it weren’t for one little secret. Spoiler alert, it wasn’t little, and it certainly wasn’t the only secret he kept. Still, the crush he had on his surly, straight partner was the secret Jordan would carry to his grave. That was why ending up in a prison cell with his partner wasn’t just a predicament for Jordan Slade. It was one secret too many on the verge of spilling out, and the rest of them were even worse.

When Jordan Slade joined the Loser’s Division, Adam Markland called him a fake. A phony. A liar.
He couldn’t prove it.
But he was right.

Scarface is a standalone and the third book in The Loser’s Division series. This series features police officers of dubious reputation who end up in the infamous police station destined for the worst of the worst. Still, not everyone who ends up in the Loser’s Division is a loser. More often than not, they’re overlooked heroes.
This book features themes like bi awakening, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and hurt/comfort. For mature readers only, 18+.

At first, I didn’t really feel the chemistry between Adam and Jordan, but after the first 30% or so I was swimming in the angst and longing right along with them 😍 Honestly, I could have had even more longing because it was delicious! The tension and spice was HOT!

Adam and Jordan are partners and detectives who are sent on undercover assignment inside a prison, posing as inmates. It was an interesting twist on forced proximity and they really did not like each other for reasons that aren’t quite clear, other than Adam doesn’t like anyone because he’s our resident grumpy pants! There are mentions of characters from the previous books in this series, but not having read them didn’t make a difference.

I did feel like the betrayal in the latter half of the book came a tad from left field because there is very little in the first 70% of the story to elude that there would be a betrayal or there were any underlying issues. I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the writing and the way some scenes were described confused me. None of these things stopped me from inhaling this book in two sittings though! 😅😅

Also, I have to say how much I loved the references to Milo the Pomeranian eating socks 🤣 I have a Pomeranian who also loves to eat socks!

Thanks to the author for the opportunity to read this book ahead of time!

Luna did such an amazing job with this one! I have absolutely loved the Loser’s Division series. Adam and Jordan have both had my attention from the first book so I was super excited when Luna announced their book. Adam was such an unexpected surprise. I loved seeing the way he eventually folded for Jordan and accepted his feelings. It certainly wasn’t an easy road for these two but Jordan was determined to fight for Adam and I am so glad he did. I loved seeing Luz’s wild self again. These two might be my favorite from this series. I’m excited to see what Luna does next with the LD.

This was a really great book to read and I had so much fun reading it. I love how diverse quirky and unique all of the characters are and how the main characters grow and develop throughout the story. This one had me going through all the emotions from howling with laughter to needing to find the nearest tissue box to shouting f**k yeah! When things all worked out. The author has a fun and unique writing style that really brings the story to life and I honestly can’t wait to read more of her work and especially this series in particular as I’ve read and loved all the books in the series so far. The pacing is great, the characters are diverse and lovable (even the a**hole character that you will end up loving) , the story is cohesive and flows well, and the plot twists are twisting. I will definitely be recommending this book as well as the entire series to anyone who will listen! And the author is quickly becoming one of my favourites!

Adam aka ‘Scarface’ and Jordan work together at the police department. They HATE each other, except for the fact that Adam will break the nose of anyone who hurts Jordan and Jordan gets “anger boners” from Scarshit aka ‘Adam’. When they get sent to prison on an undercover job they have to share a shower where anger boners become a problem. They also share a cell where Adam aka ‘Pumpkin’ discovers Jordan aka ‘Princess’ is a cure to his insomnia. When they are extracted from their undercover job, things should go back to how they were before. However being in close proximity to each other has given Jordan his sexual awakening and poor Pumpkin just wants to sleep, nothing more…so why can’t he keep his lips off of his Princess? This is a hilarious, heartwarming, heartbreaking story of love, lust and a betrayal that ruins everything. I was giggling the whole way through this, absolute masterpiece!

For some reason, this series had fallen off my radar, so imagine my surprise when this popped up.

As a general rule, I usually find myself skimming the sexy parts, but the absolute shock that these two showed as they discovered that they actually were attracted to each other and how fascinating the sex between them was... just made my day!!!

I am thinking there will be a book #4 and I look forward to reading it... IF there is a book #4! 🤣

This is a MM hated partners to lovers awakening story. Well, one hates and one obsesses silently. It was so fun to watch the rough around the edges detective come to some realizations about himself. He’s never trusted a soul in his life after his unfortunate childhood, but can he now?

What a brilliant book! I love the Loser Division Series and was super excited to read Adam’s story—it didn’t disappoint in any way. Adam and Jordan’s "push and pull," banter, and bickering were superbly entertaining, and their relationship rollercoaster was perfect. The ending had me totally on edge as they worked through their relationship and learned to forgive past mistakes; it was so good and incredibly heartfelt.

The story has a wonderful pace, filled with tension, heart, pain, and the need to find that one person you can truly believe in. It also delivers plenty of laughter, love, and a "found family" vibe with a perfect HEA.

Adam “Scarface” Marklands is an extremely surly, grumpy detective. Life hasn’t been easy for him; following a brutal childhood, he has mostly seen the bad side of humanity. He doesn’t particularly like anyone, and that definitely applies to Jordan. From the minute they meet, Adam feels lies "bleeding" out of the man and takes an instant dislike to him. Jordan's smell, the sound of his voice—everything grates on Adam’s every nerve... or is it that simple? Even without thinking, Adam has always been protective of Jordan, stepping between him and any threat.

Jordan “The Shadow” Slade is the unit’s "golden boy" veteran. He does everything by the book and is sweet, kind, and liked by everyone—except Adam! Jordan actually thinks he is asexual because no one has ever "stirred" anything within him, until Adam. He doesn't quite understand these stirrings, especially since Adam has been obnoxious and downright rude to him every day for two years, yet Jordan stays in the division just to be near him.

When their Chief has had enough of their constant arguing, he sends them on an undercover mission to a prison as gunrunners to gather info from an inmate. Lines start to blur when Adam discovers that being near Jordan cures his insomnia. As things become more precarious undercover, they have to lean on each other to survive. One drunken night and a kiss turns their world upside down, bringing truths to the surface—but whatever happens in prison stays in prison... right?

Back home after the mission, "sleep tokens" quickly turn into something hot, heavy, and possessive. This story hits a medium-fast burn once that spark finally ignites. However, Jordan has a secret—one that will rock their foundation and send Adam spiralling. Between the deep trauma and the high emotional stakes, this is definitely a high-angst read that keeps you hooked until the very last page.

If you like a spicy love story full of snark, attitude, bi-awakening, and plenty of "push and pull," this one is definitely for you. While you don’t have to read the rest of the series to enjoy this, I’d recommend it to fully immerse yourself in these fantastic characters and get the complete experience.

I am very much looking forward to another book within the Loser Division and super excited for who to it may be?

The Losers Division is full of characters that are the farthest thing from actual losers. Adam and Jordan might be my favorite "losers" so far!!

Scarface is the third book in the Losers Division series, they do not need to be read in order. However, this book does contain spoilers for the first two (if that matters to you). If you like a spicy love story, full of snark, attitude, bi-awakening confusion and some mystery who-done-it, then you'll love this series!

Adam and Jordan are partners, but they're not friends (according to Adam). Jordan appears to be a nice guy, go with the flow personality, believes in happily ever afters and all that jazz. Adam hates everyone, everything and thinks happy endings are for suckers (and he's no sucker). Yet, for all of Adam's attitude and snark, he's the first person to throw a punch if someone touches or even hints at touching Jordan. Hmm...

Adam and Jordan find themselves in a precarious situation that only allows them to lean on each other. Those frozen moments in time cause some soul searching, and force some truths on both of them, that neither are fully prepared to accept or admit.

Their story isn't filled with sunshine and happy moments, though those do exist. But their story has heart, it has pain, scars (physical and emotional), and it has fight!

Checkout Scarface and watch as Adam and Jordan fight each other, fate and the odds as they work towards their HEA.

Det. Adam Markland (Scarface) and Det. Jordan Slate are up in Scarface by Luna Lay.
Adam is not a people person, grumpy and sticks to himself. His partner on the force, Jordan, is his exact opposite, thoughtful, kind and cordial. Adam wants to punch Jordan in the face on a daily basis. But God forbid anyone else is rude, violent or disrespectful to Jordan, Adam will literally take them down with a fist. Jordan is fascinated and obsessed with Adam but doesn't really understand why but it starts to sink in that Jordan has a massive crush on his gruff partner. Watching this hate/love relationship evolve during some detective work, which leads into some up close and personal time going undercover as convicts in a prison where their target is currently residing in. Jordan and Adam share a cell and what follows is funny, suspenseful and sweet, and leads to some awakenings/realization from both of them towards each other. There is a secret that Jordan was keeping from Adam who finds it hard to trust but Jordan showed Adam how much he loved him and thankfully that happy ending they both deserve was there and I could breathe again. I had so much fun with these two characters who were so different but so perfect for each other. I absolutely loved this book and can say this is my favorite out of the Loser's Division series. Thank you, Luna for giving me and others such beautiful and fun men to bring home and keep on our nightstands

This a new to me Author I was lucky to get an Arc of Scarface.
This book is great.
Adam”Scarface “ Markland is very much unlikable in the loser division. He’s just a broody smartaaa who pretty much hates everyone. But he hates just one person way too much. Jordan “The Shadow” Slade. Also known as his partner.
Jordan is consider to be the golden boy a veteran abiding the law properly. He’s keeping a secret and doing a dam good job hiding it.
Adam & Jordan fight and argue like 2 year old and their chief had enough of them. So when they get assigned to go undercover in a maximum facility prison to get information, they are both pissed off.
Things escalated fast. So they return back to reality.
Jordan thinks he’s Asexual but he’s has a problem being around Adam. If you catch my drift 😏..
Adam is straight hates Jordan until he kisses him he also uses Jordan as a sleep token. Boy oh boy things get hot and heavy. They start developing feeling for each other..
Until the ultimate betrayal is uncovered.
Do not worry this book has a HEA.
Luna has a great sense of humor, she writes these 2 MCs so well I actually felt the hate for each other until I didn’t. Some of the things she wrote had me cracking up the banter between Adam and Jordan is priceless. And the angst 🥵 these two have filthy mouths. I truly enjoyed this story.

Scarface by Luna Lay was such a fun, chaotic read and I had the best time with this one.

Adam and Jordan’s interactions at the start were pure gold. The dry humour had me cackling, and their dynamic? So good. Adam is a total jerk to pretty much everyone, but there’s clearly a soft spot for Jordan buried deep down and the way he gets protective? Loved it.

Jordan, meanwhile, is over here trying to process feelings he’s definitely not prepared for, especially when it comes to Adam. And throwing them into a high-stakes situation together just forces everything to the surface in the best way.

I also really loved getting more insight into Adam. He’s a grumpy menace, but understanding why he is the way he is added so much depth. And Jordan definitely brings layers too… plus a little groveling never hurt anyone

This book had me laughing, stressing, and fully invested. The banter, the tension, the character growth—it all worked so well.

The ending? Absolute chef’s kiss.

You can read this as a standalone, which I did but now I'm reading the earlier books, to get the full experience with all the characters.

Such a fun hate-to-love story with humour, chaos, and a whole lot of personality.

If you have read the other books in the series, you would know that Adam has a hate/hate relationship with everyone and everything but anyone threatens Jordan verbally or physically he is on them like a ton of bricks. Poor Jordan has been suffering whiplash constantly trying to workout Adam's emotions.
Adam comes across as unapproachable but the more you get into the book, the more you learn why he comes across like he does. Jordan is an adorable sweetheart and whilst he comes across as meek, he can certainly stand up for himself and I laughed at some of his snarky comments.
This was such great read and I enjoyed seeing Adam and Jordan get close. There was an unexpected twist which really shocked me and I had to take a 5minute breather as I could not believe what had happened.
With cameo appearances from former members of LD and some great secondary characters who played a part, I have my fingers crossed to who's story is next, but regardless I am excited to carry onto this series.

The MMCs in this book crack me up, they are so funny. And, talk about moody. There are things neither one of them want to admit out loud and not even to themselves. They can’t get out of their own way. They are a pretty good team, though. The mean things these two men say to each other could break a heart, namely mine. LOL. They are both likable in their own ways and I was rooting for them. As I neared the second half of the book, it just got funnier. I LOVE a book that makes me laugh. There is nothing sweeter than when a man is super possessive for another man. There was the biggest plot twist ever and it broke my heart. This book gave us heartbreak and happiness. Mistakes and forgiveness. Found family, too. It was well written and moved along at good pace. I loved it and would definitely recommend this book.

This one MIGHT just be my favorite from the series so far!

Every interaction with Adam and Jordan in the beginning was pure gold! They had be cackling the whole time, dry humor is some of my absolute favorite and this had it ten fold. Although Adam is a straight up jerk and can’t stand anyone he has a secret soft spot deeeeeeeeeeeep deeeeeeeep down for Jordan and while he can piss Jordan off NO ONE else better dare try. Jordan is struggling with his feelings for Adam as he’s never felt any sort of connection quite like there’s. it takes being in a prison cell to uncover some serious emotions these two have all the while trying to escape danger at every turn.

And the end was seriously chef’s kiss.

I love the loser squad so freaking much, and I can’t wait to see what comes next!! And I hope it’s who I think it is!

I love returning to this series. The dynamics between the characters are always a blast. Jordan and Adam are no different. They are so much fun as they are complete opposites. Jordan is kind, considerate, and a bit shy, while Adam is prickly and grumpy in every way. Watching these two navigate their unusual case and close proximity to one another only enhances their already present tension.

Overall, I loved being back in this world. Jordan and Slade are an amazing duo, and watching them both fall for one another made for the perfect romance. They are both so stubborn, and watching them slowly fall for one another only made this story more impactful.

I've really loved all the books so far, but I think
Jordan & Adam might just be my favorite as of now. Scarface is book 3 in the Losers Division book series and well it can be read as a standalone book my honest opinion is you will be missing out on same great characters and stories from the first two books.

Here we get to see Adam's characters in full light and get a understanding of why he is how he is dont get me wrong he's still a crab ass to most but I loved his character so much and Jordan no spoilers but I will say he has some layers to him we get to see and some groveling to do.

The spicy scenes were fantastic, and the last one of the book was 🔥

I really liked how Luna Lay did the chapters with breaking it into 3 parts. Love when it's done like this, and I can't wait for book 4.

This was my first book by this author and I am hooked. I loved every second of it. This book is part of a series but can read as a standalone. I do suggest reading the others as the characters and couples are in the other books. If I had read the others first I would have connected everyone better but still an amazing book without reading the full series. I loved the banter between the two main characters. And to watch them grow through out the book and understand what they are feeling was amazing. When the spice hit it was hot. Lol The plot stayed through out the story with a perfect balance between the relationship with the main characters and the case they are working on.

I’m so ewwhhhsaakjjjk

I loved this so much. I can’t believe Luna was able to write something that even topped Trigger. This book was perfect in every way - and maybe at the end I would’ve liked for Jordan to grovel a leeetle bit more but I got over it.

Adam is a possessive overprotective hunk of a misunderstood grumpy guy and that is one type of MC I just love. Jordan was refreshingly likeable, which surprised me but I’m glad it worked out this way.

The story overall was simple and did not over complicate things. A great length and at this point I just want Mendoza/Bianchi’s story next (pleeeease)

I can’t wait to reread this again!

was it well-written? absolutely not. was it realistic? also no. but was it enjoyable? well…not really.

there’s not a single aspect of this book that was even remotely realistic, and it’s very clear absolutely zero research went into writing it. i mean, talking about your mission while undercover in a prison? really? also the word ‘incidentally’ is used far too many times.

i finished it because i was curious, and it wasn’t the worst thing i’ve ever read - the plot twist towards the end was actually pretty decent - but it certainly wasn’t good.

This is by far my favorite of the series so! The Loser's Division is back and this time it's Adam and Jordan's turn. I really didn't think it was possible to like Adam after the way he acted in the first two books, and he's not much better at the beginning of the story. But this was a delicious enemies-to-lovers and I completely fell in love with Adam by the end
I can't wait for more from the LD because I have a feeling it's only going to get better!!

This book is raw and brutal!

And funny, so funny, laughing is obligatory🤣

Sarcastic, moody, possessive MMCs, a huge plot twist, tears, anger, pain, and finally forgiveness makes this well written, steady paced book a must read for readers who enjoy gritty MM romance.

Looking forward to reading more by this author.

Book 3

I liked it. Not the best in the series. The best one for me was the first book. Needs an editor, too many “Incidentally’s” that distracted from the story. I will continue with the series because I’m curious about the next couple.
