When the veils between worlds collapsed, magic claimed the streets and monsters claimed the night. Humans learned the new rules fast or died. Don’t go out after dark, don’t challenge a vampire, never meet a werewolf’s gaze… and if you see a dragon, you run.
Tamora doesn’t run.
Surviving in a city ruled by fangs and claws, Tamora knows one thing for certain. The power burning inside her is dangerous. What she is, what she can do, must stay hidden. Because in a world without second chances, discovery means death.
When the police enlist her help tracking a dragon, Tamora takes her first step down a path she never meant to follow. One that leads straight to the alpha werewolf. He’s dominant, infuriating, and stirs feelings in her she’s not sure she wants.
But as threats rise and ancient magic stirs, Tamora is forced to confront how far she’ll go to protect what’s hers, and what she’s willing to unleash to do it. Because some bonds are forged in fire, others are broken in blood, and trust is the rarest magic of all.
Will Tamora remain a dragonslayer… or let the world hear her roar?
Tea Spangsberg lives in the south of Denmark on a small island with her family. She claims to be a Viking but would be rubbish at it as she gets terribly seasick, but let’s not tell anyone.
Her parents taught her the love of reading from an early age, and she grew up surrounded by books. Her love for reading morphed into the need to tell her own stories, and she never looked back. Reading still plays a big part in her life, and she loves everything from fantasy to crime fiction.
When it comes to writing, her big love is romance and fantasy in all their forms and subgenres. She might have a slight addiction to coffee, sharp-edged objects, and books of a peculiar nature.

I received an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. This is my 1st time receiving an ARC of a book as well as my 1st in the genre of romantasy, I can honestly say I wasn't disappointed. I was hooked quite quickly, despite it not being my usual fantasy read, being full of action from the start to the end & a good development of characters. A strong FMC, surrounded by werewolves, vampires, dragons, elves & magic, what's not too like. I've found myself a new author to follow & look forward to reading more from Tea Spangsberg.
I received an arc copy of this book, all opinions are my own.
This was a bit of a mixed read for me.
The story begins quickly, introducing the FMC as a dragon slayer and establishing a world filled with dragons, werewolves, magic and old powers. The pacing is very fast throughout the book, with events moving rapidly from one situation to the next.
For readers who enjoy fast-moving fantasy with constant action, this may work well as the story rarely slows down and there is always something happening.
However, I personally found the pace sometimes worked against the tension. Many conflicts are introduced and resolved very quickly, sometimes within only a few paragraphs, which meant the stakes didn’t always feel as high as they could have been. The build-up to the war was one of the few moments where the story developed a sense of anticipation, although that conflict was also resolved fairly quickly.
The instalove is revealed early in the story, but from my perspective the emotional connection felt much stronger from his side than hers. For a large part of the book it didn’t feel genuine on her part, and it wasn’t until later events in the story that her feelings began to feel more convincing.
There were also a number of grammatical errors, typos and slightly awkward phrasing throughout the ARC that occasionally interrupted the flow of the story. Hopefully these will be smoothed out during the final editing process.
Overall, I didn’t dislike the book and I did finish it because I was curious to see how the story would conclude. Readers who enjoy very fast-paced fantasy with instant relationships and constant movement in the plot may find this an enjoyable and easy read. Personally, I would have preferred more suspense, stronger build-up to key moments, and deeper emotional development in the central relationship.
The worlds of dragons, werewolves and vampires collide with humans in this wonderful story of power and adventure.
Tamora Andrews is a bounty hunter; she can track dragons and kill them with ease to protect her world. The police hire her to track a dragon, but while there, she experiences a surge of power. She’s also seeing someone in her dreams, someone powerful named Parantheo. She soon meets a powerful werewolf named Sheamus, the local Alpha, who claims her as his mate, but soon Parantheo poses a threat to Tamora, Sheamus and all those she cares about. She has to learn more about who she is and what she is capable of before she can save those she loves.
I loved Tamora; she was a complete bad-ass. She was fierce, strong and powerful and extremely sassy. She could stand up for herself and was not afraid to protect those around her. I loved her relationship with Sheamus; he was a protective Alpha mate, but she also stood up to him and called him out when he was too much. I also loved that she didn’t need saving, but rather she was the saviour.
The dragons were awesome, both good and bad ones. Obviously, my favourite was Theodor; he was the one who got the most page time, but I also loved Ansor and Sarifa.
There were a couple of characters I wanted to know more about; I’m hoping to learn more about them in Book 2. Kansas, the policeman, seemed interesting but disappeared for most of the book, only reappearing at the end. I also want to know A LOT more about Gregori the vampire; he seems to know more about Tamora than he’s letting on right now. He was a very intriguing character. He also has a history with one of the elves; I’m not sure where that was heading.
I am looking forward to book 2 with great interest, I can’t wait to see how this story unfolds after the cliffhanger this one left me with.
love, love, love this book. The writing is exceptional. The plot is great. Action is good. Great character development. I'm always so excited when I find a new author to love. I'm am waiting, holding my breath, for more books by this author.
I’ll be honest I am a little disappointed with this novel. I read A dance of lies and lust and the sequel by Tea and loved them. However the dragon novel missed the mark for me a bit. I felt like there was too much going on, too many side plots that could have been explored more or explained in greater detail however we kinda just didn’t hear more about them.
The idea that the main character is the daughter of old magic embodied is such an interesting concept. However we never learn how she was made to be, why her father wasn’t with her growing up, where or if she has a mother. There are endless questions to her origins.
In the beginning when she’s vague about her powers and eludes that she must keep her powers secret I assumed that maybe she didn’t even know who she was or what her powers were. In fact I’m still not 100% certain. She acted like she was just a witch, did not indicate that she was a dragon master. Then at the end she’s very accepting of it, almost as if she knew the whole time. Which if she knew I would think she would have asked more questions or been more skeptical of the events leading up to finding her father.
I don’t really get the insta love between her and the wolf. I get that it might be a fated mate kinda situation but she’s not a wolf. She didn’t even seem that serious about him till he was missing. Their relationship felt so inorganic to me and I honestly couldn’t get into it.
Throwing the wolves, vampires, elves, dark elves, dragons, and everything in between into such a small book felt like too much. World building is one thing but that was world cramming. I didn’t have the opportunity to learn or appreciate any of the species involved.
Finally I will say the biggest issue I have is the scene with the elf that took her life and her child’s all because she was removed from the forest, that was an incredibly tough read for me. That part felt like it didn’t hold as much significance or backlash as it should have for being such a heavy theme. I’m sorry but if we saw in the news that a parent was struggling with mental health took their life, but ALSO murdered their child instead of leaving them with the other living parent, there would be an uproar. Applying real life to a work of fiction is hard but definitely comparable in this situation when you think about how the main female character reacts to child death in other instances of this book. I would have expected the female main lead to be more upset seeing how she felt about the dragons killing children or when the wolf teenager was killed. Her lack of reaction or anger shows a discrepancy in her character. What a gross scene and reaction from supporting characters.
Honestly this novel was not for me. I am going to go back and reread the A World of Houses trilogy from Tea since I didn’t finish the third book. That series was much more enjoyable for me personally.
3/5 stars for the descriptive scenes and twists the author was able to weave into the plot.

Dragonslayer is a real page-turner. A urban fantasy novel filled with fast-paced action and surprising moments that made it almost impossible to put down, even for a second.
The FMC, Tamora, is a badass bounty hunter who hunts and kills dragons to protect the world and the people she loves. She tries to live a somewhat hidden and anonymous life because of her magical powers. She knows she is powerful. Maybe, she doesn’t realize just how powerful she truly is.
As the best dragon slayer around, the police call her in to help solve a case because of her knowledge of dragons. Reluctantly, she agrees and from that moment on, everything changes. Her quiet, under the radar life is over.
In her quest to protect the world from malicious dragons and a dragon master on the loose, she must figure out how to stop them before everything is destroyed. Can she do it alone? Or will she need help from unexpected allies - werewolves, vampires, elves?
I really enjoyed Tamora’s sass and humor. She made me laugh more than once. At the same time, she is smart and strong, but also vulnerable, which made her feel real.
I also enjoyed her relationship with Alpha Sheamus. He is a true alpha; strong, protective, and possessive. The tension between them is definitely there. Her connection with Gregori, the vampire who seems to know more about her origins than he lets on, adds another intriguing layer to the story.
This book hooked me from page one. The writing is fast-paced and never drags. There are no long, heavy worldbuilding sections - they aren’t needed because the author uses sharp, precise, and engaging language throughout.
If you love strong FMCs, dragons, werewolves, magic, female rage and mates, Dragonslayer is 100% a book for you. I am definitely looking forward to book two.
I received an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
This book was so much fun and completely packed with action from start to finish. Tea once again delivers a badass FMC that’s impossible not to obsess over, and Tamora is absolutely no exception.
Tamora is a fierce bounty hunter with secrets of her own and a reputation to match. She’s a dragon slayer who hunts down dragons that pose a real danger to people no mercy, no hesitation. When the police ask for her help on a particularly dangerous case, she’s pulled into a situation that’s far bigger (and messier) than she expected. And let’s not forget Sheamus our alpha werewolf. Strong, protective, and very much alpha energy, he was the perfect counterpart to Tamora. The chemistry between them added an extra layer of tension that made the story even more addictive.
What I loved most was how confident and capable Tamora is. She doesn’t need saving, ohoho nope she is the danger. Between dragons, secrets, and an alpha werewolf who absolutely holds his own, the story kept me hooked from beginning to end. The action was fast-paced, the world felt gritty and alive, and I devoured every chapter.
The pacing was fantastic fast, tight, and never dragging. There was always something happening, whether it was a fight scene, a revelation, or character development, which made this incredibly easy to binge-read. The writing style is sharp and engaging, with vivid action scenes and dialogue that flowed naturally. It pulled me in from the first chapter and didn’t let go. That ending though… the cliffhanger left me with so many questions, I need more!!!
If you love badass FMCs, dragons, and alpha werewolves, Dragonslayer is 100% worth picking up. I flew through this ARC and can’t wait to see what Tea writes next. Thank you Tea for trusting me with this book!
Review of ARC given to me by the author. All opinions are my own.

Okay, so the vibe of this reminded me of the video game The Wolf Among Us. Not sure if that was an inspo behind this but it made me enjoy it.
I'm usually not an urban fantasy person but this book proved to be an exception. There was no part that lagged but I did wish the pace was a bit slower. There was a lot going on in some parts and had to keep reading back to make sure I got everything.
Maybe because I'm a sucker for lore but I was slightly disappointed that we did not get more lore/backstory to the relationship between the elves, wolves, dragons, vampires, and humans. The authors previous series had a lot of backstory and world-building so this one felt a bit lacking in comparison. Some parts left me with questions more than answers which I hope will be covered in the next book.
Tamora is a badass FMC and I love how the author writes her FMC's so I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed. I loved her relationship with Sheamus, the MMC, who also happens to be an alpha werewolf. I'm in my werewolf romantasy era so I ate this up and I need more of them together.
I cannot wait for book 2 so I can see how Tamora handles her new position and what other plot twists await (Gregori, looking at you) and how both the fantasy world and real world are going to collide. Overall I highly recommend this book if you're looking for an urban fantasy with a badass FMC, fast paced action, plot twists, and magic!
My review is based on an Advanced Reader Copy of an ebook given by the author. All opinions are my own.
I loved Dragonslayer by author Tea Spangsberg.
The FMC, Tamora, was witty and sassy and I loved that about her. And who doesn’t love a MMC who is an alpha werewolf. 🐺
The plot of this book was so great and unlike any of the fantasy books I’ve read so far. I do wish it was maybe a longer book to allow for some more detail in some areas - I would have eaten it up! More description/history/snippets of the relationships in the book to allow me to connect and immerse myself into each one. But this is just because I wanted more, not because I felt it lacking!
It was packed with action right from the get-go, which I appreciated. I didn’t have any sections of the book where I found it hard to keep going - I wanted to keep reading.
This book surrounds itself with a strong and fiercely loyal FMC with werewolves, vampires, dragons, elves and humans all mingled into the story. What’s not to love about that if you enjoy fantasy novels? I loved the combination of the real world and the fantasy world together!
I am being greedy in wanting more, so I can keep reading - my reason for 4 stars. I CANNOT wait for book 2!!
Thank you Tea, for allowing me to be an ARC reader for your novel! I’m so excited to read more from you.
This is my first read by the author. I tried to get into the book but I found that it wasn't for me because it didn't quite meet my genre expectations.
I adored the idea of the variety of magical types and enjoyed the idea of the world but it wasn't explained as in depth as I'd like. The writing and fast pace kept me reading and curious to know more but I struggled with the main plot line. I didn't really know where we were supposed to go in the story. Who was the main villain? Is this a romance or a mystery? I liked the idea of the romance but it felt too insta-love and not believable for me. I didn't mind it being both a romance and mystery but I was confused on the execution. I wanted to like the story but I struggled with the story jumping around and not being clear so I decided to DNF.
To end on a positive note, there was a scene that I absolutely loved where the FMC did not like being manipulated and confronted those people with the werewolves. That scene had me giggling with glee. Again, I appreciated the fast pace writing but needed more linear or clear storytelling.
2 out of 5 rating for me!
(An ARC was provided for an honest review. I leave this review voluntarily.)
Review of advanced copy received from the author. All opinions are my own.
Dragonslayer is a fast paced romantasy novel that gives me serious elder scrolls five vibes! The FMC, Tamora is a badass bounty hunter who is hired to take down the dragons that attack the city. She’s got unknown powers and secrets about her identity to keep so when the police contact her to help with an issue she is pulled into a situation that becomes bigger than her and her identity is the key to it all. She runs into our lovely MMC Sheamus who is an alpha wolf. He’s got all the qualities that we want in our MMCs, strong, protective, “who did this to you”, “she’s mine”. He was the perfect pairing for our strong minded and willed FMC. This book kept me hooked and I flew through it in 2 days. Thank you for trusting me to read your novel! I am looking forward to reading the second book in the duology 🤩
Themes: identity and self discovery, found family and loyalty, political intrigue, trust and healing Tropes: quick burn romance, mated attraction, hidden identity, hidden powers, FMC slightly morally grey Spice: 🌶️🌶️/5 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
This book is a truly great and exciting book that hooked me right away. From the very first chapter, I felt like this was something special. The writing is easy and flows so naturally, which makes it incredibly easy to get into, and suddenly you’ve read way more than you planned. The pages just disappear. There’s always something happening that keeps the story moving forward and makes you want to continue. The pacing stays strong without feeling rushed, and every chapter leaves you with that feeling of needing to know what happens next. The bond between the FMC and the dragons is so interesting to follow, without giving too much away. There’s something there that really captures me, something strong almost magnetic. And the fact that there are both vampires and werewolves in the world makes it even more exciting. Her mate bond with Sheamus adds another layer of emotion and intensity that I truly loved reading about.
Another strong book from Tea, she delivers again. I’m already longing for the next book.
Thank you so much Tea for letting me be a part of your team. ♥️🌺
I received this book as an ARC (Advanced Review Copy) from the author Tea Spangsberg.
She has done it again! Bravo Tea 👏🏻 This story had everything! We have a badass fmc, that is independent, strong-willed and stubborn. She fights her battles, doesn’t back down when she is faced with troubles or dragons 🤺⚔️ Tamora is a Dragon slayer, bounty hunter and consultant for the police. She does all this, with a lot of mental complaints 😂 she keeps to herself, until suddenly she gets drawn to this specific man, that makes her life a bit more complicated and interesting 😅🥰 And at the same time, everything she thought she knew about herself, the world, people around her comes undone. Apparently something has been hidden from her, for a long time, and now, the time has come to unravel it all. And we are just along for the ride 🐉 We get introduced to Werewolves, Vampires, Dragons, Elves, Darklings, Wild magic and some secrets 🤓🥳
As the characters grow, you get attached to them, and you might get sad throughout the story 🥹
I can highly recommend this book, if you like all the above, found family, alpha-energy, action, fights, war between species, and the eradication of evil 📚📖
I received an ARC copy of this book, all opinions are my own.
When I read the blurb of this book I was so excited to read it sounded great, unfortunately the reality fell short for me.
The story did not flow well at all, in one chapter the main characters could flip to several places be with several different people with no link to how or why she got there.
I didn’t feel anything for any of the characters. I always find a character to like in a book, someone to root for and for the first few chapters I thought the lead FMC would be that person, she sounded tough and sarcastic but the more you read the more of a mess the character becomes she doesn’t know who she is or what she’s doing.
This book contains all your basic fae characters, witches, werewolves, vampires, trolls, elves and so on. But non of them seem to have a back story or depth to their existence in the book.
Really disappointed. I gave 2 stars due to the real potential this story could have had a it been more thought out.
Tamora, the FMC, is a bounty hunter and ruthless slayer, able to take down dragons and other threats to humanity with ease. While she tried to stay under the radar as much as possible, due to her unusual powers, when the police have a case that needs her expertise, they call her in to help. In this world of humans, werewolves and vampires, a rogue dragon master is on the loose, threatening everyone and everything, and Tamora needs to work out how to stop them from destroying everything she holds dear.
Tamora is everything I enjoy in an FMC, she's smart, sassy, and has moments of both great strength and vulnerability. I had fallen in love with her before I'd even reached the halfway mark, despite the fact she's a dragon slayer. I really enjoyed her relationship with the alpha wolf Sheamus, who is a strong, protective sweetheart, and Gregori, a vampire with plenty of secrets.
This book was fast paced, and kept me hooked throughout, and I can't wait to read book two of this duology.
I received an ARC of this ebook from the author and I'm voluntarily leaving this review.
Honestly I have been left confused by this. There are so many gaps in the story that could have been explored further. So many questions left unanswered. The FMC had so much potential but I felt her story was only half written. How did she get her powers? Why was she abandoned as a child? And the mating with the alpha wolf seemed to come out of nowhere, again potentially could have been another side story.
The scene where Hanks wife & daughter died was brushed over and I felt this could have had a bigger part in the story. Tamora’s reaction was very underwhelming compared to other parts of the story where children died and she had strong emotions about it.
What happened with her and her mate? Why was he so distant with her afterwards? There are just too many unanswered questions and loose ends.
This had the potential to be a really good book but unfortunately it wasn’t for me
I received this as an ARC read, and all opinions are my own

oh what a ride this was. haven't read a fantasy book in what feels like a hot minute, and this was a good one to get back into the fantasy world. it was so unique and intense at times. twists you're not expecting. action packed. dragons, werewolves, elves, and vampires all working together....sorry slight spoiler, but still you'll be shocked for the reason why. I just couldn't get enough of Tamara. she was just bada**. her and Sheamus are such an intense pair. i just love them. even if their romance was very fast paced...I just enjoyed them. there's several other characters to follow that you learn a bit about as this book goes. I really enjoyed Theodore too, a dragon. ☺️ Hanks story though, omg, broke my heart. 😭
I just enjoyed this book, can't wait for the second half of the duology.
This book was not what I expected going in. It is bad assery, it is fast paced and action packed all the way through. The way it is written is hard hitting and fun and shows you exactly how the FMC is thinking/feeling. The twists!? I've read MANY a book in my time and still couldn't see a couple of those ones coming! Had me sat up straight at 2am all week reading it. I love it, honestly. It's not your usual story, and i swear it will throw you for a loop right when you're not expecting it. The characters are fantastic and made me cry a couple times because of it! This isn't your typical girl-kills-dragon, girl-meets-boy, girl-immediately-falls-for-boy, type of shtick. This is so so much better.
I absolutely adore the worlds Tea creates, and this one is incredibly fascinating. The melding of the real world and fantasy realm? The lore of how things came to mix and become one? Man, that's good.
Tamora is such a baddie. I want to be her when I grow up. Just the way she went into every situation out of her comfort zone and absolutely excelled in the face of pure evil.
I read this as part of the ARC Team, but I'd read it several more times without even being asked.
I was lucky enough to read this as an ARC sent from the author.
If you love reading about magic, dragons, werewolves, vampires and elves then this is the book for you. It is action from the very first page.
It follows a bounty hunter names Tamora. She is hired to slay dragons. But when the police hire her to investigate a situation involving a dragon her world soon turns upside down.
This book will keep you entertained from beginning to end. It's the first book in the Wings and Fangs duology.
I cannot wait for book 2, as this book has left me wanting more.
I absolutely loved this book. It’s not normally the type of book I go for but I loved every moment of this book. The FMC Tamara is a badass and loved her character along with her relationship with Sheamus the alpha. I was hooked with the book from the start and didn’t want to put it down, it’s fast paced and action packed and I can’t wait for the second book.
I will definitely be recommending this to friends.
I received an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
I received this as an ARC from the author. I am a sucker for books with dragons so I devoured this.
The FMC ,Tamora, is excellent. A sarcastic bounty hunter that can hold her own in a world with magical creatures is always going to be appealing and she did not disappoint.
Bits of this book felt jumpy but overall I loved the story telling, the plot and the characters and found it to be an enjoyable read that had me quickly turning the pages to find out what happened next.
I received this book as ARC. All opinions are my own. I wasn’t sure at first chapter but from second chapter I couldn’t put this book down. I absolutely loved how great main character was and bit of romance magic, dragons, vampires and so much more, with so many new turns in the story. I absolutely enjoyed every paige of this book can’t wait for second.
Omg I couldn’t put this book down! I instantly fell in love with all the lead characters and loved the little twists. It was such an easy but compelling read. Not overly complicated no crazy side stories or too much going on, which just made it great to pick up and switch off to. Can’t wait for the next book!
Strong world building and a fun, intriguing story. I enjoyed the evolution of the main character from supposedly socially awkward loner to a powerful leader, and her way of developing friendships along the way.
I absolutely loved this. Seeing a heroine reluctant to embrace her massive power made her feel so much more human and relatable. A must-read for any fantasy fans!
