too much of everything. too much of fighting their real feelings. too much of pretending to be a family when they already were. too much of trying to protect each other and not fighting together for each other. what looked like a disaster... a nuclear bomb that was destroying their existence as a family turned and imploded on the ones that launched it. making them a real family. showing all them that they deserved a famil and love. that they weren't broken. or poison. they were each other's person. and they were willing to go down to save a little girl that lost everything in one awful night. loved it.
This story is so good, especially the courtroom shocker!
Jax's brother and sis-in-law are killed in a car accident, leaving behind 4 year old Alexa. Her wealthy and snooty grand parents think Jax is not good enough to raise their grand-daughter. Unfortunately, Jax knows Alexa will be miserable with them.
Jax comes up with a plan to marry Simone, his work partner. However, he insults this beautiful and intelligent black woman. Secretly, Simone loves Jax, but he is looking at her like a solution to his custody problem, instead of a woman he plans a future with.
I knew from jump I was gonna always root for Simone, Alexa, and Jax. The fierce love and determination they had for each other from jump was the best I’ve ever seen played out like all the hallmark movies, I love. Marcus was trash and foul . And the nerve and audacity of the Hamilton. To throw their emotional manipulation around just to try to get what they needed.
This story was a new take on an old story. Simone, the fixer, comes in to help Jax keep custody of his newly reunited sister's niece, who is then deceased. He is the only family he has left, and he desperately needs someone to help with Alexi (the niece) because the grandparents want to take her. However, instead of the fixer coming up with the solution, Jax's solution is to get married and help him maintain custody of Alexi. Inevitably, problems come, but Janae Jones and Tyla Walker introduce a new act in an old play that is not only captivating and well-written but has so much heart.
At the end, Simone (the fixer) comes charging through in her red suit and settles the custody issues for good. Loved this book.
They enter into an agreement so that he can gain custody of his niece but when close quarters have feelings blossoming will their hearts be compromised. Simone needs a way to earn money and Jax has offered her one but at what cost. This story had me all caught up in the drama and glued to the characters from the first page.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A fantastic story about two people who worked together and go into a contract marriage to protect his niece Both of them have feelings for each other without admitting it What starts out as a contract ends in true love and happiness Great job ladies, the collaboration works!
I bypass this book so many times I’m like let me just try. It was freaking amazing!!!!!! I enjoyed it from the beginning to ending pure action. All the characters come to life the scandal love it try it out usually don’t leave reviews but this book is well worth it. 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I liked Simone and Jax but the story went from believable to unrealistic and didn’t recovery for me though I liked that Jax and Simone one in the end. Alexa was adorable
There were a couple of plot continuity issues. And I was curious why Alexa’s last name was Ryker. Not sure if that was an error or something I’d missed
Please have Kleenex … This was so absolutely good. Jax and Simone were into each other from the beginning they just did not know how to be together until Alexi came along. HEA 🥰😍🥰😍
Jax doesn't know what to do with his traumatized niece when his sister is killed in a car crash. Simoine is his fixer. They negotiate a fake marriage to keep her safe. The evil grandparents want custody and play dirty
Simone was Jax’s lifeline. Without her he was lost. Simone was a peacemaker. She knew how to tame the beast and give him what he needed. They became a happy family. The love between the two of them was. True love prevails
I’m glad they kept the trauma relatively surface. She was a typical successful woman with trust issues. While it was predictable it was a fun read. The spicy scenes were well written. The cover looks weird though..lol
