Hi, my name is Abby. I hope you enjoy my exciting new romance and erotica stories.

I love stories about strong, female protagonists that give you a good character arc and background to the action as well as providing the steamy details of what they get up to. I am particularly attracted to themes like wife-swapping, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and public and group encounters.

I am thirty-years-old and live in the beautiful forests of rural Ontario, Canada, with my two dogs.

I hope you enjoy my stories. You are always welcome to contact me at: abby@type-writer.net

"Aisha, a curvy girl who is abused and humiliated by her boyfriend, Heath" doesn't begin to cover it. Aisha is raped on two separate occasions by Heath and Hunter, a mature man who is taking them to Alaska for Heath's new job. I was not expecting it and sure didn't enjoy it. It was not even dubious consent to me, nor did she have a rape fantasy/fetish.

This entire story was negative from beginning to end with Aisha being a young woman who was brought up in care (we don't get details about any abuse there, just that she's all alone) who has a job at a vet clinic which she loves. Her boyfriend, who is about 7 years older I estimate, picks her up in high school and currently freeloads off of her and physically and emotionally abuses her. Aisha is a complete doormat and doesn't go to her boss who refers to her as "like her daughter" for help. Her boss is going to work with Aisha to get her into vet school, but Heath gets a job in Alaska so off she goes.

On the way there she is raped by both on two separate occasions, she finds out the only work for women, who are out numbered by men to a vast degree, is sex work so "she better get used to it". She is saved by a wolf on the road and yet when Heath teaches her to shoot because they're having a problem with wolves following them Aisha precedes to kill a couple on her first try. What? Why would she shoot to kill a species that has helped her and that she showed an affinity for while at the vet clinic plus have the skill?

Aisha is TSTL, she has chances to get help and never takes them. Heath is supposed to be unlikable (score!) but he wavers back and forth being possessive then throwing Aisha at Hunter. Hunter is a creep too. He also wavers between "this is wrong, I have a daughter this age" to brutally raping her and telling her this is what it's going to be like from now on for Aisha.

The end of the book says the next two installments are even kinkier. Rape is not kinky, it's a violent crime which destroys the victim. Granted this is just a story and these are fictional people, but the reader should be warned so they can make a better decision to buy/read this story. I'm not hopeful for the next two installments because Aisha is a "handmaiden" for wolves. Whenever I have seen this term used, the individual is usually a slave, be it sexual or not, and we all know there's going to be sex of the "kinkier" kind so beware.

I accepted the offer of a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. I was expecting a romance, probably an erotic romance (I don't recall what details were given), but that was not what I found in this first installment of Given to the Pack.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD:

Given to the Pack is Book One in a paranormal trilogy. In this first book we meet Aisha, a veterinary apprentice who adores animals and has the ability to soothe them. She lives in Washington with her boyfriend Heath, who is unemployed, abusive and cold. They’ve been living together since she was a teenager, and because she’s so afraid of him, he easily manipulates and controls her.

One day, Heath announces that he got a logger job in Alaska and that they’re both going to move there. Aisha agrees. She knows she doesn’t love Heath, but she’s too afraid to make her own choices. She appears to be weak and completely spineless where he’s concerned.

They drive to Alaska with Hunter, a guide hired by Heath’s new employers, crossing Canada in a road journey that takes over a week. During one of the ferry crossings, Aisha is alone on deck when she meets a beautiful man with yellow wolf eyes, named Packer.

Once they arrive at Dead Wolf town, their final destination, Aisha learns that women in the area basically offer themselves to the men in order to be protected. Twice during her trip she is forced to have sex with both Heath and Hunter. They call it submission in exchange for protection even though she clearly manifests it is rape. This seems to be a recurring theme for her, in which women submit to men in order to appease them and gain their support.

She also meets Packer again in human form and sees that he has the same wolf paw birthmark that she carries. Regardless of the scary shifter stories she hears, she feels a special connection with this man/wolf, as if he was her protector. Aisha discovers some secrets about the birthmark and is left wondering what her future will bring, if she will be claimed by the shifters and if her destiny is about to change.

This story is not your typical werewolf erotic romance. It’s the story of a young, mistreated woman who is learning to find herself while she makes the journey to her real home. She has no one and she feels confused and alone. The one person she thinks could love her is a jerk. I hated Heath throughout the book and kept hoping he’d disappear soon. I’m also curious about his job and why he took Aisha to Alaska, where he grew up.

I believe a love story will eventually develop in later books, there is no love, no romance, and no swoon-worthy hero yet. I was expecting the paranormal elements of the story to surface earlier, and I wanted a bigger-than-life hero to save Aisha and carry her away now. Or I was hoping she’d grow tough enough to save herself. This book was the beginning of her story, there’s still so much more to be told. We get a glimpse of Aisha’s potential strength when she holds a rifle and kills some wild wolves that attack them, and we get a glimpse of Packer’s alpha qualities when we learn he’s been watching over her.

I enjoyed the actual writing and the setting descriptions gave it a fairy-tale vibe, but I’m not sure if one longer book would’ve been preferable to three shorter ones in order to get Aisha’s complete story. I am not a big fan of cliffys so this could be a matter of personal taste. In any case, I really want to know what happens next.

The book is written in third person from Aisha’s POV. The chapters are very short, so we jump from one scene to another quickly. Some of these jumps are a bit abrupt, but I found the short chapters easy to read and follow. Once the story began to flow, I couldn’t put it down.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Aisha works as a veterinarian assistant with an uncanny gift of getting animals to trust her. Though she shines in her professional life, her personal one is a mess. She lives with a loser abusive boyfriend Heath, who gets off on leveling her self-esteem to basement levels. She has been floating them financially for some time, so is ecstatic when he finally gets a job offer. Unfortunately it's in Alaska, and she makes the sacrifice to follow him.

Pros :
1. This book is much darker and kinkier than the blurb's initial impression.

2. Normally body issues in a blurb makes me run screaming, but this part of the story line worked for me, in this instance. She is a real curvy attractive girl, and I actually found her beautiful.

3. Though this heroine made bad decisions, the background information given made it plausible, and sympathetic.

Cons :

1. I think the title pertains to something that happens further along in the series, not in this installment. The wolves are introduced, but all the intimate interactions are between humans.

2. At times the abuse went way past my comfort zone.

Final Thoughts :

Though ménage isn't my favorite theme, this worked for me as a dark read. This is extremely triggering so please proceed with caution. I'm hoping for more interaction with the pack, versus humans in the next installment though. 3 1/2 stars

Is Aisha the most stupid and gullible female ever?

I don't generally do spoiler reviews, personally I don't like them but I'd find it hard to review this book otherwise.
I read most of this with my jaw hanging open in disbelief, at the start of the book Aisha seems to be a lovely girl, she's a vets assistant and is great with animals, her early life wasn't great since she was brought up in foster care, she's been with her boyfriend Heath for four years.

######SPOILERS#########

Heath is just awful and he treats Aisha like sh** and she smiles and takes it, time and time again, he takes her out and she pays, he tells her she's fat so she doesn't eat, he flirts with a waitress in front of her, as she's reaching for the ketchup he tells her how many calories are in it, so she does without, he gives her a wedding dress and she's so excited but then realises it's way too small he tells her he'll marry her when she can fit into it and then takes it back to the shop, he takes her last $10 to go out and has sex with the waitress from earlier, Aisha knows she can smell her on him, so what does she do? she has sex with him of course. Heath gets a job in Alaska so she gives up her dream job and her chance at college and packs up to go with him. On route Heath and their guide rape her, she knows it's rape and it's serious so what does she do? she stops talking to them for a while!!!! No I'm not joking I just surprised with the total lack of backbone that she can stand up at all. She's told she needs to get used to this because this is her life now, it's so bad that I continued reading to the end in the hopes that this would somehow redeem itself.....it doesn't.

High and low emotions
This is an interesting tale of a young woman who’s life is lead by the better of two evils. Leaves a foster home to be with a man that she really doesn't love but more needs to survive or so she believes. When he get a new job in his old home area of Alaska she find that life there is not anything like it is in the lower states and is expected to do things for protection. And then there’s her birthmark of a paw print that seems to get darker the closer she get to Alaska. And learning that there are shifters. This is an emotional roller coaster ride within this story. Well written and very entertaining to read.

A zero star is not available to express the way I really feel about this "book."

Who was I supposed to root for in this barbaric mess?

The heroine...?

Or the two rapists who kept justifying their repulsive acts and saying its "nature" or "nature isn't always pretty...?"

What does that even mean!?

You are raping a person, and all you have to say for yourself is that it's "nature...?" Or "it's what happens in these parts...?"

And since when was nature not pretty...?

What the fuck did I just read?

And have I ever read about a WEAKER heroine?!

Can she even identify 2 words in Backbone...?

She was raped on multiple occasions and abuse in the worst way: mentally.

Not only did she ignore the early signs her douchey rapist boyfriend were giving off and continued to allow herself to be mistreated by him over and over again even though she COULD help it, but she went as far as giving up school and real friends, and move to Alaska with that douchey boyfriend when he got a job.

She wasn't strong enough to leave him the first time he called her fat and took her money and then went to fuck a waitress...actually the bitch REWARDED him FOR FUCKING THE WAITRESS!!

She wasn't strong enough to leave him, when the douche "proposed" to her by bringing home a cheap dress that he DIDN'T EVEN buy and showed it to her and told her that they could only get married if she lost the weight and fit into the dress. As if he was a prize to be won! As if getting him as a husband was like winning the lottery.

And the dumb-ass heroine STILL didn't leave him! Instead she spent the whole fucking book complaining about how unhealthy the relationship was but STAYED IN IT any-fucking-way!

This fmc kept thinking the right thoughts but never acted on them.

She gets raped and then, basically said "I'm not talking to you, you raped me."

What?!

All you're giving to your rapist is a SILENT TREATMENT and a pout?!

Bitch, here's an idea!!! how about you LEAVE!!

You're so fucking weak! It disgusts me! It almost makes me hate you even more than I hate the guys who raped you!

Because at least they ACT ON THEIR THOUGHTS!

And what the fuck was that author trying to make us feel during those RAPE SCENES!? TURN US ON!

I don't know how many times I stopped myself from gagging every time they raped the heroine. The author used words that would make you think they were "making love to her"...when the heroine obviously didn't give them her consent....!

she made the heroine COME too! 🤢

I puked twice reading this book. Because the rape scenes were treated as LOVE SCENES.

My stomach fucking turned!

No! JUST NO!

I'm only going to read the next book because I'm OCD about not finishing things...especially book series, not because I like anything about this shitty, degrading "book."

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review

The cover is way sexy though if they are Hunter and Heath, I’d like to slap them both :)

Okay, I was totally sucked into this story, but parts of it for me were like driving by an accident and not being able to take your eyes off the horrible thing happening. This is absolutely an adult book, so if you are not an adult find another book to read. Things happen in this book that are not nice and pretty like emotional abuse and rape that is like date rape where there is major pressure to do the things wanted and basically her giving up and letting them do whatever they want. I do not want to give the story away, but I wanted to give a heads up to those readers who will not read things containing such parts.

Throughout the book, Aisha is trying to be strong and knows things are going on that she wants to stop, but her fear stops her from taking any action. I think she is building up to a strength that no one realizes she has, but right now that is just my gut feeling :) Heath is a jerk and scumbag, and I don’t think I like him at all. This book makes me wonder if things portrayed here actually happen in the wilds of Alaska, but I have no clue if it is true or just something out of the author’s mind.

I have lots of questions about Packer and the other shifters, and I secretly hope that the people in Dead Wolf are wrong about how they think of them and that Aisha’s gut is closer to the truth. I really need to know what happens next, so I’m going to head off to read book 2 now :)

I recommend this book to readers who don’t mind multiple partner scenes and darker sexual content but also have to have their shifters in the mix too!!

Less than a 1 star - actually a 0.5.

This woman (I can't even call her a heroine of the book) was TSTL and should never be able to leave home. She's degraded, raped, slapped, - you name it, and just keeps going along with it. She does say no to the rapes but not vehemently and she doesn't actually try to fight the men off or run away (which she had chances to do over and over).

The story of a rugged town in Alaska where the men protect the women but only if the women sleep with them ALL is so ridiculous. I think it was supposed to be considered taboo or titillating but it was too convoluted to be either. Just a ploy by the author to throw horrifying sex into the book.

Disturbing and wrong on so many levels.

STARS: 5
POV: First
SERIES: Yes
CLIFFHANGER: Yes

OK so I'm going to be completely honest here with you. At first, I didn't really think I was going to like this book. Aisha starts off as a weak character. She's in a relationship with a man, Heath that I instantly didn't like. Despite how he treated her, she stayed with him. I kept waiting for her to come to her senses and just leave him. I can understand her reasoning for why she stays but I really wanted her to find her inner strength and walk away. That feeling gets stronger and stronger as the book progresses. When Heath takes a job offer that lands them in Alaska, I knew she wouldn't leave everything behind for him especially when things were starting to look up for her. But alas, she goes with him.

The closer they get to Alaska, I wanted to grab Aisha and slap some sense into her. Things were looking bleaker and bleaker for her. The company Heath took the job with sends a man named Hunter down to escort them up because the trip up in not one of leisure. They are heading to the deep wild of Alaska and the last leg of the trip is extremely dangerous. I soon transferred some of my dislike for Heath onto Hunter. I really didn't like these two men. However, it's the last half of the trip when all the serious mystery and excitement starts.

I was never more glad that I didn't put the book down and walk away. Abby Weeks puts you into a world that excites you and also disgusts you. I'm not one to judge people's way of life, but the town of Dead Wolf....I completely do not approve! But to each their own, I guess. Before they get to the town of Dead Wolf, Aisha meets a mysterious handsome man with yellow eyes. He intrigues her more than anything and she can't help the pull she feels for this man. They only have a brief moment together before they end up at their destination, but that moment is ingrained itself onto Aisha. She can't seem to get those yellow eyes off of her mind.

Now the book is about shifters but the main focus of this book appears to set you up for what is to come. Shifters are mentioned many times in this book mainly as a warning of how dangerous they are. Women have been disappearing and then found later dead in the woods. Shifters have been the blame for this. So when Aisha is told the man with yellow eyes is a shifter, she is both a little frightened and curious. At one point during the trip, Aisha tried to run from Heath and Hunter. This is when she comes across a huge white wolf. She should be terrified but the eyes give the mysterious wolf away. She has always had an affinity for animals and led her to seek a job at a veterinary clinic. Hunter and Heath warn her to be afraid and cautious but her affinity towards animals has her knowing that the wolf was not there to hurt her, but to protect her.

This was the pivotal moment in the book for me. This is the point in the book that I could not put it down. I stayed up all night to finish the book. I was truly hooked. There are more questions than answers but this is only the first book in the trilogy. Despite the initial disinterest in the book, I both want and need to know more. Abby Weeks has laid out a storyline that shows massive promise to be a wild and crazy ride. A ride I cannot wait to take.

There are some moments of extreme kink. At first, I was very uncomfortable and felt my heart rate increase but not in a good way. By the second time it happened, I was less disgusted but still wasn't completely on board with it. You'll understand what I'm saying when you read the book. Despite the lingering disapproval, it was quite hot and kinky the second time around.

At the end of the book, we learn so much about Aisha but leaves us with just as many questions. We don't have the complete story but enough to make me dying for the next book! I'm very curious to see if this new information is enough to slap a backbone into Aisha. I really hope so because I do like her character. She's simply not secure enough in her own skin yet. She's young and I have every confidence that she'll find herself in time. Personally I'm hoping that Packer (the handsome yellow eyed shifter) is the one to help her on the journey to self-discovery. I am very interested to know more about him and what or who he is exactly to Aisha.

The book was well written, keeps your interest, and flows smoothly. The characters are well developed. I easily related to Aisha and felt her struggles. Definitely recommend 1-clicking this book. My 1-click finger is itching for the next book! Great job to the author!

WOW I have sooo many emotions at the moment, after reading this book.... This is the first book from Abby that I've read, so I wasn't really sure what to expect when I first started reading. This is the start of a new series for Abby & I think she nailed it.

I'll be compeletely honest here, at first I didn't really think I'd like the book, what was happening at times made my stomach clench, the lead female Aisha was soo down trodden by her boyfriend Heath it made me want to jump in there & KO the man, yell at my kindle app & tell her to grow some. But Aisha allowed things to happen to her, that had she not had the past that she did would never have happened to her in the first place.... which make her situation & lack of backbone, kind of understandable.

Some of the events in the book SHOCKED me & made me uncovertable, but to me those events made the book seem real & made me enjoy the book more, it probably wasn't an easy situation to write either. I loved the laws & history we're slowly learning about of the shifters in the book too, it's unique compared to other stories in this genre. I'll be keeping my eye out for book 2 of this series as Abby had me drawn into the story from the first sentence.

Abby was kind enough to give me an arc of this book. I'm gunna start off saying this is her first paranormal book, and while it wasn't my favorite of her books, being new to this kind of book she did good. We don't see much of the PACK in this book, but we learn a lot about what goes on in the small town in Alaska. This book make me laugh and cringe, and that ending, I felt sad, I felt like I wanted to hold the h, that's a good feeling to have. She is being thrust head first into this world she knows nothing about, by an asshole. But that's what you'll need to read the book to find out about. It's hard to say if there is a hero I. This book, there is but there isn't at the same time, just..... Read the book to find out. I feel that this author will do good with this series and I can't wait to see what's next!!!

Great Paranormal!
This is a great paranormal book; it is part of the Wolfpack Trilogy by Abby Weeks. Aisha is in an abusive relationship with Heath. He gets a job offer in Alaska so she moves with him because she believes she loves him. While in Alaska she learns that people who turn into animals exist. She also learns some valuable information. This book hooked me from the beginning and I had trouble putting it down. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Omgosh loved this book! Had me pulled in from page one. Really found myself very intrigued by Aisha. This was full of angst and some very low points. Once they made it to Alaska thats when the real mysteries started and sadly it ended with many questions. I am soo glad I have book 2 it pretty much picks up where this left off. I am very much becoming a fan!

I received this free from the author, my thoughts are my own.

I really enjoyed this book. If you are a fan of Abby Weeks, you will still see similar themes that are in all of her books, but this isn't dark like some of her previous work.

You have a young woman-Aisha who is in a sucky relationship with Heath. She believes that she loves him and that he loves her but her conception of what love is, is backwards. He cheats on her, treats her like crap and calls her fat all the time when really she is this beautiful, caring woman who tries so hard to make a man happy who doesn't appreciate her. Several times, you hear Heath call her fat and my impression is that she is shaped the way a woman should be shaped-child bearing hips, good size bust etc. The modern woman we'll call her.

Anyways, Aisha has a calling for animals, she is able to understand them and calm them down in a way that is unheard of. Aisha has never thought anything of it other than a gift and therefore she works in a Vet's office. Her boss is about to find scholarships for her to go to school to become a Vet when Heath tells her that he got a job way up North and proposes to her. She of course takes it and that's really where the book takes off. As they travel farther up north, Aisha meets an interesting stranger and you realize quickly that there is more to him than what meets the eye, and you learn more about who Aisha really is and what her destiny should be, if she chooses to go that route.

There is action in this book, there is a backwards thinking of how women are. Women in this book are used for sex and that's about it. Keep a guy happy and he will protect you is pretty much the theme of this book. There are two scenes where it is m/f/m.

In some ways, women have all the power, because there are so few of them in the place where Aisha and Heath are going but at the same time they have no power. So it's kind of who is playing who?

I was hooked from the very beginning and read this book straight through, and then I read it again. Now that I knew what was going on, I went back through to see if I could see things that was being hinted at.

One thing that I wasn't sure about at first was the fact that the first several chapters are really short. One of them was about three paragraphs long. But it makes sense instead of putting several breaks into one chapter, she breaks it up. As the story gets going, the chapters do become longer and more detailed.

I was happy to see that this book was (or appeared to be) longer than some of her other books. Is it a standalone? No. It is not. Did it leave you hanging? It wasn't an awful cliff hanger but it was a good place to end, kind of like a mid-season finale or standing at a road that forks. But it wasn't one of those endings where you felt like you were going to die until the next book came out. So-good ending and a good place for the ending.

With that said, I am (im)patiently waiting for the next book. I think I know where it is headed or at least where I want to see it headed. This is different from all of her others books and not just because it has the paranormal aspect to it. It's not dark like some of her early books and it's not entertaining like The Wives series was (I laughed a lot at those books) but it talks a lot about lore and myths and it brought everything to life.

I really despise Heath and wasn't unhappy when he got hurt. Hunter kind of reminds me of some of the characters from past books of Abby's. He is into women submitting to him, and isn't afraid to take what he wants yet at the same time he is a coward and when he knows he does something wrong he makes up excuses and can't meet Aisha's eyes.

Aisha is great. She is very innocent in some ways but very spirited and stubborn in others. Even through she is made to submit, she doesn't give up who she is in doing so. I can't wait to read more about her, Ma Hetty and Packer

I would recommend this book to others.

*** A copy of the book was gifted by the Author in exchange for an Honest Review***

So I started reading this book after finishing Abby Weeks The Arrangement Box Set where I struggled with the layout but enjoyed the book content.

So I was ecstatic to see that the formatting was the with "" speech marks, and before I knew it I was 30% through and didn't want to put it down - I was just planning to see how the books layout was before I wrote my review, having a waiting list of other Review books for the blog.

But I am afraid that they had to wait in line - I needed to carry on reading this book.

My Favourite Genre is Paranormal, and I love my shifter books, I do read Erotica so I was like WHOOHOO a 2 for one deal! I knew it would be saucy due to the cover and Boy it certainly does get hot on your Kindle!

If you are a bit squeamish about Rape sex then I will warn you that the story line does contain scenes of that nature, there are menage scenes and the protagonist Aisha's Boyfriend is a complete DICK.

Aisha is a girl who has been made to feel sensitive about her body due to her boyfriend Heath treating her like dirt. She has been with him since she was 16 and he is quite a bit older than her. He's been out of work and Aisha has been working at a Vets while he drinks and whores around.

Aisha has an affinity with animals, especially the canines and when a hurt Wolf is brought in she manages to calm it down enough to stitch her up.

When Heath is offered a job in Alaska he convinces her to move with him, and the move is a long and arduous journey the route to the logging town is so remote that the company send out a guide to escort the pair from Washington State to Alaska, Hunter the guide seems a nice fatherly figure at first but Aisha is soon going to find out that the way Men perceive women in the remoteness of Alaskan Logging towns is more like the 18 hundreds where women are there to do the mans bidding in exchange for protection... BUT Protection from who?

Read this book and find out, Ms Weeks has taken the Shifter Genre and created an intriguing world of Wilderness men and the women who submit to their bidding in exchange for protection from the wilderness and all the dangerous creatures in it.

What Aisha will have to decide is who is more dangerous - the Company men who see her as a plaything to be used as they see fit, or the mysterious Wolf Shifter who she feels a compelling bond with. I really can't wait for book 2 to find out what happens next.

I received this in exchanged for an honest review. I like the idea behind this story from the synopsis that was given to me.

Aisha is a 20 year old woman and she has been with her boyfriend Heath for four years. Ever since high school. Heath is older than Aisha by eight years I believe. She works as a veterinary assistant doing what she loves - helping animals where her first experience is with a wolf. Heath is a logger who has been out of work for a while. I guess over time he has grown verbally abusive towards her by calling her fat (from what I gather she is not. Just curvaceous.) especially when he is drunk. He is also not as faithful as he should be. Then one day he is offered a job to move from Washington to Alaska. A very remote part of Alaska I might add. He never gives her a choice really about moving and being the loving girlfriend she is, she goes. I forgot he is her fiancé now and his proposal was down right mean how he did it.

Anyways... Hunter is their guide the company that hired Heath to assist them and make sure they arrive as safe as possibly to their destination. The majority of the book deals with Aisha's trip to Alaska. During her travels she meets a yellow eyed man who is mysterious and shows up randomly throughout and I suppose we will be seeing more of this man in the upcoming books. Is is also during the trip that she starts to suspect that this yellow eyed man might be more then a man.

Aisha is learning what her role will be while living in Alaska with her fiancé. In the remote village where she will be, things are different. Women are not treated as they were in Washington. It is during her travel where she learns just how different. Men outnumber women 10-1 where she is going. Which she is having a hard time understanding what she has to do for "protection" against not only the freezing weather but against animals and mainly shifters. Aisha is learning fast that she may have more in common with the wolves and shifters than she thought.

Overall, I liked the story. I gave four stars mainly because I wanted more about the shifter, wolves, and Aisha's role with them then her travel to Alaksa. However I undertand why we needed this as a back story to fully prepare for what is coming in the next book(s). Will I continue with the series... YES!!!

I am giving this book a 3.5 rating. I think the book is great but there were too many chapters about the trip that Aisha took to Canada. It was too drawn out for me. I think the purpose of this was to show the transition that was going on in Aisha's mind. She was less restrained when she was animalistic in her thinking. She did not have to think, but just feel. She was going from civilization to nature; from rationalization to instinct, from populace to loneliness.

Aisha to me had no idea who she was as a person. When a woman does not know who she is then she will settle for anything a man will dish out. And that is what exactly happened with her and Heath. I know Heath was the closest thing she had to something stable and he knew that. She settled for thing no normal woman would take, for example Heath's proposal (that was sad). It's funny that her counselor she had when she was younger pegged her upcoming relationship problems with people to a T. Aisha always thinks about those words spoken but questions if those words apply to her relationship with Heath, especially since she knows that he would not make a good husband. I was a disappointment that since coming to Canada his attitude has made a turn for the worst and he is willing to share her with any man (mainly Hunter). Gladly she meets with Packer.

The build-up in this book is starting to surface but I wish there was more. I wanted to hear more about the attraction to Packer and to have more of him around. He was more in the background and just got glimpses of his eyes. I wanted to know what the attraction was about and not just her embracing the image of a wolf. There is alot going on with the legend of shifters, Ma Hetty, her relationship with Heath. I like that at the end Aisha is opening her eyes to a new life and not just depending on Heath. Can't wait to see where her journey brings her.

I was giving an ARC of “Given of the Pack”. It was an awesome Shifter story. I truly loved the story line. Of course in the book you have characters you hate and characters you love.

Aisha worked at a veterinarian client in Washington. She loved animals and had such a way with them. She was a sort of animal whisper, so to speak. Just by a simple gesture of her touching an animal seemed to calm them. Seemed like her work was the only thing Aisha had going for her.

Aisha being an orphan all her life had longed for one thing, which was love. It was something she never had. Aisha had an abuse cheating boyfriend by the name of Heath. I so hated Heath. Reading the things he put her thru was heartbreaking. You just wanted to reach in the book and punch him in the face. He was always putting her down due to her weight.

Heath got a job in Alaska. Aisha who thought she loved Heath decided to go with him on this journey. Oh how she did not know what was in store for her. The journey to Alaska with the a guide by the name of Hunter was just a start to her nightmare and some hard truth, which was hard to swallow. Want to know what Hunter and Heath done to her? How about what truth she discovered? Well read the book.

As they get closer to Alaska she meets a Shifter, which she did not know even existed. She felt a connection to him like she had felt with no other Though her meeting with him was short she feels she will see more of him along the way. Want to know why she felt a connection? Do you want to know if she saw him more along the way? Well read the book.

I had a hard time putting the book down. It is a book that will capture you right at the first chapter. You can really see Abby Weeks Talent come thru in her writing. I so love this book and cannot wait for book two.

Aisha has been abused and humiliated by her boyfriend and now they are moving to Alaska where she learns there are men who can shifter into werewolves in this emotionally gripping first installment of the Wolfpack Trilogy.

Aisha has some emotional issues courtesy of her boyfriend but also from her past and the reader can’t help but gets drawn into the story as Heath convinces her to move to Alaska and worsens the abuse and humiliations. While the characters are strong and compelling, Aisha is a little wishy washy and really needs to stand up for herself, of course this is what captivates readers as they follow along on the journey to see just what happens to change Aisha’s world.

Despite the bad relationship, the chemistry between Heath and Aisha is pretty hot (not enough for me, I’d killed him) and when Heath and when they are joined by their guide, Hunter, things get even hotter and some readers may find this offensive as the sex scenes include m/f/m interactions that Aisha reluctantly participates in. The scenes and details are well written and capture the imagination and the well orchestrated events ensure that the reader will want to know more about Aisha’s story.

The steady pace and smooth flowing plot keeps readers shivering in anticipation with lots of suspense and interesting elements and while so far the story is a dark tale, it is very compelling and grips the readers emotionally, so I was engrossed in the book from the very beginning and of course I was quite upset when it ended where it did, so I can’t wait to read the next part and find out just what Aisha does now that she has learned some information about her family and her past and finds herself drawn to a werewolf.

I started reading Ms. Weeks’ work when I was given opportunity to read the first two stories in the Alpha Series. I immediately became engaged in those stories. When I was given the opportunity to read her newest series, I jumped at the chance and again Ms. Weeks did not disappoint.
Aisha is living with her boyfriend of four years, he is emotionally abusive, a drunk and cheats on her all the time. Her only savior is working in the vet office. Things change when Heath is offered a job in Alaska and wants Aisha to come with him. This is where Aisha’s true adventure begins.
I will admit before reading this story I was a little worried that I would become uncomfortable and not enjoy it because there were rape scenes. Thankfully Ms. Weeks wrote these scenes tastefully. Yes, Aisha was forced into doing something she didn’t want to do and yes she said no, but she also submitted to these two men. Aisha is then told she needs to get prepared for this sort of thing because where they are headed there are few women and the women offer themselves in order to be protected, little do Heath and Hunter know she might not need to be as protected as they think.
I have some theories on why Heath was the way he was in Seattle. He had grown up where there were few women and he may have slept with all these women because he could, he wasn’t use to having many women and was use to taking them without worry. He also seemed to change once he was in Alaska and not as emotionally abusive, but I guess we will see about that in the next book!
I cannot wait to read the next installment to this series; I know it will grab me just as this one has.

Given To The Pack is a step away from what Abby Weeks normally writes, but I believe she has another hit on her hands and I look forward to the following two books to finish the trilogy. In this series Abby goes into the Shifter Novel genre and she has done an excellent job.

The heroine is Aisha a veterinarian apprentice outside of Spokane, Washington who seems to have a way of communicating with animals. We learn that she is an orphan and that she taken up with Heath whom she has clung to in the search of family. Because of her desire to belong she accepts a lot of bad behavior from Heath.

Just as it appears that she is going to get some help to go to vet school Heath accepts a job in Alaska and she gives up her future to follow him into the wilderness. Their guide into the North is Hunter. Hunter and Heath are the epitome of Abby’s first chapter of the book. They want her to do as they say in return for protecting her.

On a ferry she encounters a fellow with yellow eyes that remind her of a wolf. This leads her to the term Shifter which Heath and Hunter do not want to talk about, but in one form or another those yellow eyes appear again and again. They eventually get to Dead Wolf, Alaska after a wolf attack. Aisha falls in love with the area around the little town, but it seems she is living inside of a fort.

As more questions arise and there seems to be no answers she is introduced to an old lady that begins to tell Alisha about her past.

Well written and well developed characters. I look forward to the coming novels in this series.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for a honest review.
Aisha, a veterinarian's apprentice, finally has a chance to go to college and do what she has always wanted to do; to be come a vet. Things quickly change. Her boyfriend, Heath, is self centered butt-head. He is the type of character that I just want to feed to the wolves, coincidentally almost happens. I am not demented or anything but I was kind of sad to see that he made it through. He gets a job with a logging company in the Alaskan wilderness. and expects Aisha to drop what she is doing to go. And that is exactly what she does, she puts what she wants to do on hold to follow him to the middle of nowhere. In my opinion Aisha has low self esteem, thanks to her wonderful boyfriend. There are times that I wanted to shake her and say "WTH!" she is extremely stubborn.
Here comes in the guide to get them to where they are going, Hunter. He is not as bad a Heath, but to be honest there are times that I just wanted to throw a rock at him.
While they are traveling she meets a mysterious man with yellow eyes immediately there is a connection. When, Packer, made an appearance I was extremely grateful, he was a breath of fresh air. I just knew that I would like him immediately. He is calm and a protector. He ends up living in Dead Wolf, exactly where Aisha is heading too. When Aisha tells Heath and Hunter about her mysterious stranger they tell her to stay far away from him.
I thoroughly enjoyed Given to the Pack, this is a great book to read while on the beach.
I am anxiously awaiting book 2.

I really did like this book and I need more. Aisha is a girl living in a relationship with a man that's not so nice. He's all that she knows since she was 16 years old. Heath is a mean guy that drinks, messes around and he needs a job! Aisha works at a veterinarian clinic and has a way with animals. Finally Heath gets a job offer way up in Alaska as a logger. Aisha doesn't want to go to Alaska, but she does, because she isn't strong enough to say "no". A good part of the story takes place on the travels up to Alaska with a man from the company employing Heath...Hunter is his name. He seems to be a nice man at first, but he turns out not be very nice! Heath and Hunter do things to Aisha that are not so nice and tell her to get use to it, because that's just the way it is where they are going! On one of the ferries Aisha meets a man (Packer)that is possibly the handsomest creature she had ever seen with extremely unusual eyes. They were a golden yellow tint that almost didn't look human! The time is short and he is gone. When Aisha and Hunter make it to their destination, Aisha is lucky to meet some very nice women and learn some unbelievable things about herself. I think the real adventure begins with the next book. I look forward to see what's ahead. I really liked Abby Weeks writing. This is a shifter story, which is only my second to read. I just might become a fan!

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

Aisha is a vet apprentice who lives with her boyfriend Heath. Heath is unemployed and cruel and abusive but Aisha loves him. One day he comes home from an interview and tells her he finally got a job and they'd be moving to Alaska. Feeling like she has no choice Aisha moves with him. But what awaits her on her trip and in Alaska could be a worse fate.

I gave this book 4 stars. It's a well written book that really sucks you in. I only gave it four stars because Aisha annoyed me, she let her man treat her badly, and even rape her with another man and still even tho she knows it's wrong and know he doesn't love her she stays. Even when he tells her this sort of thing will be a regular occurrence where they're going. But when she gets to Alaska she starts to "harden" up and not accept this about her future. I will say that this book has sucked me in and I NEED to read the rest of the series because I really want Aisha to have her happily ever after, especially after the horrible beginning. Even though I had my problems with this books I couldn't rate it lower because it really does get your feelings racing which to me is a sign of an amazing author.

NOTE: This book does contain rape.

I love this book! As you get to know Aisha and her back story, you can't help but feel for her and hope for the best. As the story unfolds, Aisha and Heath, her boyfriend, are introduced to Hunter. Aisha needs protection and the two men can protect her. What she has to do for that protection is wrong, yet oh so right! Packer, with his yellow eyes is introduced and I know this story is going to get even better! There is a past and present there and I can't wait to find out what it is! Knowing Abby, the sex is only going to get more intense as the story unfolds.

Abby is one of my favorite authors . Her stories contain some very dark and hot sex scenes that aren't for the faint of heart. This book has me hooked for the next two in this trilogy and may just top my favorites from her....The Neighbor and The Arrangement.

This is the first installment of the Wolfpack Trilogy. However, I consider more of a serial than an actual trilogy, so don't be surprised with the cliffhanger ending. While this is a shifter romance, at least in this first installment we really don't see much of the actual shifters just hints that they exist. Instead, this first installment introduces us to Aisha and her not so loving fiance Heath. When Heath takes a new job in Alaska, Aisha gives up all of her own dreams to follow him only to learn that her new identity will be nothing more than a possession for Heath to do with however he sees fit. This was a rather dark story and while there were elements of it I didn't like (rape), I am hoping that the next installments will feature some of the romance elements that we saw hints of. Not to mention, I'd like to see Heath and Hunter get what is coming to them!

I want to give this book two ratings. It's 1 star book based on the misleading cover/title/blurb/ that suggests it's a story about an abused women who heals through dubious consent sexiness with a wolf pack. (Not everyone's cup of tea, but it works for me.) Really, this book is just about the abuse. And it should get 5 stars because I found it to be well written--a worthy story if I chose to read it rather then being tricked into it.

This book was not what I expected but I'm so glad I got the opportunity to read it. I loved almost everything about it. It's suspenseful, titillating and so far not your normal paranormal romance. There are some aspects of this book that my disturb some readers and did disturb me but I could not put it down. I can't wait to read the next book and see where this series goes.

This book contains rape where the heroine has an orgasm. Many acts of forced sex.

Heroine has serious issues. I could not relate to this at all and it wasn't at all sexy. I guess the main thing I can say is it didn't contain whipping and such per se.

Not interested in reading more. Ugh.
