The theme of this book caught my attention. And it didn’t disappoint at all!

The main character is perfectly developing through the book. Thr storyline is building up slowly but steady, which creates a level of depth.

A great first book in this series! Let the next one arrive quickly! 😁🫣🤩.

"The Doctor’s Reckoning" by Arsheeya and Ari Mashaw is a gripping medical thriller that masterfully weaves together high-stakes drama, ethical dilemmas, and a complex conspiracy. Set against the backdrop of a cutting-edge hospital, the story follows a brilliant but embattled physician who finds themselves at the center of a web of deceit that threatens not only their career but their very life.
Plot and Character Development
The narrative is fast-paced and expertly paced, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat from the first page to the last. The authors' deep understanding of the medical field shines through, lending an air of authenticity to the procedures and the pressures faced by the characters. The protagonist is well-developed, with a compelling internal conflict that makes their journey all the more resonant. Their struggles with the moral implications of their work and the weight of their past decisions are portrayed with nuance and depth.
Themes and Social Commentary
Beyond its thrilling plot, "The Doctor’s Reckoning" delves into profound themes such as the intersection of technology and humanity, the corruption that can fester within large institutions, and the importance of integrity in the face of overwhelming pressure. The authors raise thought-provoking questions about the ethical responsibilities of those in power and the lengths to which individuals will go to protect their own interests.
Style and Atmosphere
The prose is sharp and evocative, successfully creating a tense and atmospheric setting. The hospital is depicted as a character in its own right—a place of both miraculous healing and profound darkness. The dialogue is snappy and realistic, further immersing the reader in the world of the story.
Conclusion
Arsheeya and Ari Mashaw have crafted a truly exceptional thriller that will appeal to fans of medical drama and suspense alike. "The Doctor’s Reckoning" is a thought-provoking and pulse-pounding read that lingers in the mind long after the final chapter. It is a testament to the authors' skill that they can balance such a complex plot with deep character exploration and meaningful social commentary. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a smart, well-written, and thoroughly engaging book.

This story starts out very good for the first few chapters and really kept my interest/kept me wanting to read more. It is very good writing and I love how the story was from one point of view but did a great job showing you how all the characters felt and acted throughout, so you felt like you were in their shoes as well. I will say halfway through the book I did get to a point where I was like “let’s get on with it” because things did start to get very slow…. HOWEVER, the story then gets fast paced again and ends with a twist. It’s a thriller/mystery story that also brings in the medical aspect which was really cool to see it from another point of view. Overall, I liked this book but I wish there was just a little more action and thrills like you would normally have when reading a story like this.

What a great story. Dr. Darian is a resourceful problem solver. The commune setting is intriguing. His investigation into the trouble at the commune keeps you guessing. The writing is very good. There are some thrilling medical emergencies that put Dr. Darian's skills to the test. It's a fast paced adventure story with a satisfying ending. This book is more substantial than the average page turner. It is a fun read.

For starters I did not want to put this book down! I was up way past my bedtime trying to figure out what was coming next and which way things were turning. And the plot twist? Didn’t see that one coming! I do hope to see more to this book however it may come, I just didn’t feel as if I got enough closure with Cyrus and what he was planning to do. But overall great book!

Great pacing & plot twists, beautiful descriptions of a lovely place and intriguing characters. Initially a little heavy on the physician-speak (even reading it as a doctor myself..) but evened out throughout the book.

Lot of work to read

This effort is very hard to read. Flipping between past and present, characters and such. Really not worth the struggle.
