Quite slow in the middle with a lot of focus on characters and scenes that I wasn't as interested in. The scenes featuring the characters that I enjoyed were good, but too few.

Another good one in this series. Not as strong as the first four books in the series but it does finish up quite strongly. One big nitpick-I don't know why the author has to continually remind the reader of the lineage and history of all the Children Of The Lion. I find that quite distracting and completely unrealistic but, otherwise not too bad. Read it if you can.

The fifth book in "The Children of the Lion" series should be rated
2 1/2 stars. This was the poorest of the first five. Should have been subtitled: Intrigue at the Court While Tuya Becomes a Slut. If I didn't know better I would have thought this volume was written by a romance author.

Not quite as good as the 1st four. A lot of exposition writing to bring readers that have not read the first 4 books in the series, up to snuff. The last chapter did a good job of setting up Book #6. I am looking forward to finding more on ancient Egypt and following on Google maps.
I'm also wondering how Joseph copes in this foreign country, with political intrigues.
I like the descriptions of N. Africa and the Nile.

Wonderful series. Worth reading and re-reading multiple times. Rich in geographical, historical, and cultural detail. Puts flesh on the bare bones of history. Romance, adventure, and feats of daring. A lot of fun for less than the cost of a movie.
