I loved this one!! It’s fast paced, hooked me right from the beginning, and kept my attention the whole time. I didn’t want to put it down!

Creepy in just the right way, and that ending!! Totally unexpected!

I picked this book for Support an Indie Author April and it did not disappoint.

Gripping from the first page, this story pulls you into a quiet, creeping dread. The writing is sharp…immersive without ever letting you feel safe.

Evan and Caleb, broken by Nora’s death, retreat to an isolated cabin where something feels…off. Strange things begin to surface, and as Evan digs deeper, he uncovers secrets far darker than grief.

A chilling psychological thriller with sharp twists and an ending that leaves the door unsettlingly open.

Nice plot twist. Points off for every ‘he let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding’. (THERE WERE LIKE SEVEN)

Pine Hollow is fast paced and gripping from the very first pages. The atmosphere is deeply immersive. It's eerie and unsettling, yet somehow cozy, like a quiet cabin where the fire is warm but the woods feel far too aware. The tension builds with a steady, creeping dread that keeps you locked in place. A chilling, atmospheric read that pulls you in and doesn't let go.

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.2 stars)

Pine Hollow is one of those thrillers that quietly pulls you in… and then doesn’t let you go.

What starts as a seemingly simple escape to a remote cabin quickly turns into something much darker. The isolation is heavy, almost suffocating at times, and you can feel the tension building with every page. There’s a constant sense that something isn’t right, and that feeling never really leaves.

What I loved most was the psychological aspect. This isn’t just about what’s lurking in the woods, it’s about trust, control, and the people we’re supposed to feel safest with. The relationship dynamics, especially between father and son, add a layer that makes everything feel more unsettling and real.

The pacing leans into a slow burn, but it works. It gives the story time to unravel in a way that makes the payoff hit harder. And when the truth starts to surface… it’s the kind that lingers.

If you enjoy thrillers that are more atmospheric than action-heavy, with a focus on tension and emotional unease, this one is definitely worth picking up.

Some monsters don’t hide in the woods… they raise you.

***Editing to add that the author has reached out to let me know that’s she has re-edited the book, so I have updated to 4 stars.***

This one grabbed me immediately. Dark, twisted, and creepy right out of the gate. The tension in the beginning had me fully locked in and exactly in the mood for this kind of read.

But… the editing really pulled me out of the story. There were inconsistencies, confusing transitions, and formatting issues that made it harder to stay immersed than it should’ve been. It started to lose steam in the middle, picked back up again, and I was definitely along for the ride, but just not as smoothly as I wanted to be.

There’s a really solid, creepy story here, which is why I’m landing at 3 stars. With tighter editing, this could’ve been something I absolutely loved.

This is a supernatural thriller/horror. While this is outside of my usual genre I enjoyed the story.

What stood out to me is the descriptive writing style that drew me into the sounds and smells of the scenery. This was very suspenseful and chilling. The build up to the final twist was very good and I was truly surprised.

If you enjoy a suspenseful thriller with vivid descriptions then I recommend this, I have recommended to a few of my thriller loving friends
