I really enjoyed the main plot line of the story. It was devastating and raw. I love Abby and Jaxon’s love story.
There seemed to be a lot of other plot lines introduced that I am sure are for future books to be written. However, I felt those plot lines were spoke about too much which took away from the main plot line. It made the book extremely long.
I also felt that there was some redundancy when she switched points of view. I don’t need to see the text messages sent from the last chapter in the be chapter.
I devoured this book like a mad woman. I just couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want too we had a 10 hour drive yesterday and that’s all I did read this book. Finished it in a day.
🔥second change 🏈protective hero 🔥found family 🏈first love 🔥friends-lovers
Abby- she broke my heart she was ripped away from her home and the lohf. Silenced. Lied to by her parents. Forced Into a life she never chose with a man that she could never love. Cause the man she loved she was ripped away from so fast she couldn’t even tell him. her parents are so controlling but like they didn’t care bout there daughter really angered me. Like how can you be like that ,To ur own kid. And literally seeing what that man was doing and u didn’t even care!! No maam American or Korean that’s shouldn’t be acceptable. Her walls were so high because she had to be perfect no emotion, always disobedient, must be perfect!! I hated it cause no one should have be like that. I was stressed but heart broken I just wanted to go get her myself. It Killed me!! She was a bright and funny heart of gold girl till her parents ripped her away and took all the light a joy straight out of her!!
Jackson- that man searched for Abby for 11 years. Never gave up, tracked down every a. Park he could find. He mad a life for himself but she was always the ghost that’s was always there. And once his pi found her. He went, he needed to see her. Needed her to come home with him. But when he seen her. She was different. Guarded. But was the most beautiful woman I ever seen. Her light wasn’t as bright. Her car was plain. Her coffee mug was plain. Not a lick of color or silly dumper stickers like he had remembered. She was always full of color and loved color everywhere. And ,the love was electric and it’s wasn’t just physical but that loved they shared all those years ago was like it picked up where they left off. Even tho he had to wait for Abby to be ready to run away with him. She had secrets and he knew something was going on. Knew she wasn’t telling him something and he didn’t wanna push her just gave her the space! But he had that attitude and determination that he would BURN-THE WORLD-DOWN-FOR-HER!!
This is a second change, love of your life, secrets,a man who doesn’t quit,a strong woman who finally finds her strength.
This was a great book! I cried, I swooned, I wanted to yell at them, but always wanted to hug them and comfort them. By the end I was emotionally drained but I loved it !! I could have read 400 more pages on there story. I wish it was a tad long with the ending cause I needed to see more bout the whole end situation but unfortunately it stopped. But my heart feels better knowing they are safe!!
There is two plot twists but one shocked me and one I felt like deep down at the being I knew it in my heart but it just confirmed my suspicions.
If any of that makes ur heart jump and go straight to amazon to throw this book in your saved list like I did !!! Then u should march 3,2026 and u can read it yourself :)
This book has it all don’t skip this book cause u will be missing out on a great book and a great story.
Abby and Jackson are not just second chance romance. They are unfinished sentences. They are eleven years of silence humming like a live wire. They are the kind of love that doesn’t fade, it ferments. It gets stronger. Sharper. A little dangerous.
Abby broke my heart from page one. Dragged away. Silenced. Forced into a life she never chose. You can feel the weight of everything she’s carrying. She isn’t weak. She’s surviving. She built walls so high they practically scrape the clouds, and every time Jackson gets close, you can hear the cracks spiderwebbing through them. Watching her try to protect him while still loving him had me STRESSED.
And Jackson. JACKSON.
This man did not just pine. He searched. For eleven years. He never let her go. Not in his heart, not in his head. He built a life, sure, but Abby was the ghost in every room. When he finally finds her? The tension is electric. Not cute. Not soft. Electric. He knows something is wrong. He feels it in his bones. And the way he refuses to walk away again? That unwavering, stubborn, I-will-burn-the-world-for-the-truth energy? Inject it into my veins.
The slow unraveling of what really happened had me flipping pages like a woman possessed. Every reveal hit harder than the last. The truth isn’t dramatic for the sake of drama. It hurts. It makes sense. It makes you furious. It makes you ache for both of them.
Their chemistry? Unreal. It’s not just physical, though yes, that heat is very much there. It’s the history. The shared looks. The unfinished conversations. The way he still knows her. The way she still reacts to him like muscle memory. It feels intimate in a way that sneaks up on you.
This story is about love that refuses to die. About choices stolen. About finding your way back to the one person who always felt like home. It’s protective, emotional, intense, and just the right amount of angsty without ever tipping into ridiculous.
I cried. I swooned. I wanted to shake them. I wanted to hug them. By the end, I was emotionally wrung out and completely satisfied.
If you love second chances with depth, secrets that actually matter, a hero who does not quit, and a heroine whose strength is quiet but unbreakable, read this immediately.
Obsessed by Jennifer Harrison is an emotionally charged and book I’ve read in a long time. This story doesn’t just show domestic violence—it shows the psychological trap, the fear, the manipulation, and the exhausting, terrifying strength it takes to try to escape it. The story felt very realistic and the abuse wasn’t portrayed as constant chaos, but as a cycle—moments of control, moments of fear, and moments of false hope. You truly feel the main character’s internal struggle: the doubt, the guilt, the isolation, and the quiet calculations that come with simply trying to survive. Jennifer Harrison did an incredible job portraying how leaving isn’t a single decision—it’s a process. It’s fear battling with courage over and over again. It’s rebuilding your sense of self after it’s been slowly worn down. Watching the main character fight for her freedom was heartbreaking, frustrating, and deeply inspiring all at once. Jennifer Harrison created a story that did a fantastic job portraying how leaving is not just one single decision but rather it is a process. It is fear battling with courage over and over again. She does not romanticize domestic abuse, rather how fighting for ones freedom is heartbreaking, frustrating and finally freeing. Watching the main character work through these phases was an emotional journey I was not prepared for. This book was difficult to read at times, but in the most meaningful way. It sheds light on a reality many people face but few fully understand. It reminds you that survival is not weakness—it’s strength. I was so absorbed from beginning to end, I could not put it down. Obsessed is a powerful, important, and unforgettable story that everyone should read at least once. Thank you to the Jennifer Harrison and Hayling Bookstorm Ltd Services for the ARC.
A second chance romance that wrecked me! Seriously - I started crying about 80% in until the end.
Obsessed pulled me in from the very first chapter and did not let go. This is the second book I've read by Jennifer Harrison, and just like Addicted, it easily earned 5 stars from me.
Jackson and Abby’s story is layered with heartbreak, longing, and the kind of first love that never really fades. When Abby disappears from Jackson’s life as a teen, he spends years wondering what happened and never truly moving on. Eleven years later, after hiring a PI, he finally finds her… and what he discovers is devastating.
Abby is living a life she never chose, trapped in a loveless and abusive marriage while trying to protect the truth about her past and the life she has built for her son.
This book delivered so many of my favorite elements
-Second chance romance -First love that lingers -Protective hero energy -Emotional trauma and healing -A slow unraveling of truth that keeps you turning pages
I read this in one sitting.
While this can be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend starting with Addicted for the full Falcon Pointe experience.
If you love emotional, angsty romance with depth, healing, and a hero who refuses to walk away, this is worth the read.
This book kept me engrossed to make me want to continue till I finish. The author did a good job with having the story wrapped around a sensitive topic of domestic abuse. I love the dual perspective and author does a great job with giving readers engaged with their personalities and what they are going through. In some ways, both characters are stuck and lost; Jackson with his love for Abby for so long and has never moved on and spent 13 years trying to find her, and he finally did! Abby in a forced marriage due to pregnancy, her family and 'husband put so much pressure, strict restrictions and it's all kinds of abuse from the husband and her mother. At times though I wanted Abby to do something before it progressed further. I also wanted her to open up to Jackson more but kept him hanging on. If I could change some things about the book, it would probably be the title and cover, and i feel Jackson is more than noted as a football player, more of a bar owner than anything else. the cover doesn't really fit what the book is about. While there are some spicy scenes, it's minimal and not much detail when there is. Didn't care for the scenes with her husband.
I thought the first book on this series broke me well I was truly mistaken. After reading this book I don’t know how I’ll ever recover
Jackson’s life was very simple when he was young, falling in love with his best friend was the most amazing thing that had happened to him only for her to disappear. He’s spent Eleven years trying to find her but when he does things have changed and she’s no longer the Sam girl she once was.
Abby, a fun loving artist whose life was ripped from her grasp, forced to move far away from the one person who knew her completely and loved her unconditionally. Forced into a life she didn’t want and made to forget about the one she so desperately wished she could have.
This book had me feeling happiness, sadness, dispare and the feeling of pure gut wretchedness.
Jackson’s and Abby’s story was one I won’t ever forget and I honestly hope we get one belonging to Steven and Xander.
woah. I started this book at 2:00 and finished it at 3:15 AM!
I did receive this as an ARC so thank you so much Jennifer🫶🏻🫶🏻 but other than that this book was AMAZING.
The story itself was SO fast paced, I loved the past pov chapters. I feel like I got to know the characters so so well! The fmc is such a strong women and I am so proud of her by the end of the novel (when you read it you’ll understand)
the fact that he waited for her for YEARS like omg. he fell in love with his best friend and he never stopped even tho I love Steven hehe Abby and Jackson are endgame.
I was sobbing with them, giggling with them, and even getting angry at some certain characters! I felt like I was watching a movie!!🫶🏻🫶🏻
Cole is such a sweetheart! He is such a kind and caring kid especially towards his mom, Abby the fmc!
when this releases please read it!!
ALSO sung-ho? go to hell like omg I don’t think I’ve ever hated a character like this since Mark and Teddy from BOT 😭😭
Wow. I cried multiple times, this book was deep and emotional and tackled really serious issues in a conscientious way. I loved everything the author gave us in this book-at times i wanted to shout ‘stop saying soon and do it’ but i understand this was exactly as this situation would play out irl. Beautifully heartbreaking. I have immediately added the other book in this series to my tbr and hope and pray we get more because the characters in this book are all in need of their own story. Thankyou for this gorgeous read.
Wow! This author is new to me, and she did an amazing job! Grabs you from page one and doesn't let go! It kept me hooked, and I gotta say, some parts might be triggering for others... the way she describes abuse is so powerful. For me, no triggers here, but I know others might be affected. Love how she combines everything. I love a second chance just as much as friends to lovers. is this the first book she has written? I would like to re-read this again.
This book is very intense. It grabbed me from the beginning, and I could not put it down! No one should have to go through what Abby went through!! Domestic violence is wrong no matter who the perpetrator is. Loved all the scenes of Cole and Jackson and all the scenes between Abby and Jackson!!
I devoured this book! It was gut wrenching and raw. As a DV survivor this hit so close to home. Jennifer does an amazing job making you feel the characters emotions.
