I really enjoyed the main plot line of the story. It was devastating and raw. I love Abby and Jaxon’s love story.
There seemed to be a lot of other plot lines introduced that I am sure are for future books to be written. However, I felt those plot lines were spoke about too much which took away from the main plot line. It made the book extremely long.
I also felt that there was some redundancy when she switched points of view. I don’t need to see the text messages sent from the last chapter in the be chapter.
I devoured this book like a mad woman. I just couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want too we had a 10 hour drive yesterday and that’s all I did read this book. Finished it in a day.
🔥second change 🏈protective hero 🔥found family 🏈first love 🔥friends-lovers
Abby- she broke my heart she was ripped away from her home and the lohf. Silenced. Lied to by her parents. Forced Into a life she never chose with a man that she could never love. Cause the man she loved she was ripped away from so fast she couldn’t even tell him. her parents are so controlling but like they didn’t care bout there daughter really angered me. Like how can you be like that ,To ur own kid. And literally seeing what that man was doing and u didn’t even care!! No maam American or Korean that’s shouldn’t be acceptable. Her walls were so high because she had to be perfect no emotion, always disobedient, must be perfect!! I hated it cause no one should have be like that. I was stressed but heart broken I just wanted to go get her myself. It Killed me!! She was a bright and funny heart of gold girl till her parents ripped her away and took all the light a joy straight out of her!!
Jackson- that man searched for Abby for 11 years. Never gave up, tracked down every a. Park he could find. He mad a life for himself but she was always the ghost that’s was always there. And once his pi found her. He went, he needed to see her. Needed her to come home with him. But when he seen her. She was different. Guarded. But was the most beautiful woman I ever seen. Her light wasn’t as bright. Her car was plain. Her coffee mug was plain. Not a lick of color or silly dumper stickers like he had remembered. She was always full of color and loved color everywhere. And ,the love was electric and it’s wasn’t just physical but that loved they shared all those years ago was like it picked up where they left off. Even tho he had to wait for Abby to be ready to run away with him. She had secrets and he knew something was going on. Knew she wasn’t telling him something and he didn’t wanna push her just gave her the space! But he had that attitude and determination that he would BURN-THE WORLD-DOWN-FOR-HER!!
This is a second change, love of your life, secrets,a man who doesn’t quit,a strong woman who finally finds her strength.
This was a great book! I cried, I swooned, I wanted to yell at them, but always wanted to hug them and comfort them. By the end I was emotionally drained but I loved it !! I could have read 400 more pages on there story. I wish it was a tad long with the ending cause I needed to see more bout the whole end situation but unfortunately it stopped. But my heart feels better knowing they are safe!!
There is two plot twists but one shocked me and one I felt like deep down at the being I knew it in my heart but it just confirmed my suspicions.
If any of that makes ur heart jump and go straight to amazon to throw this book in your saved list like I did !!! Then u should march 3,2026 and u can read it yourself :)
This book has it all don’t skip this book cause u will be missing out on a great book and a great story.
Abby and Jackson are not just second chance romance. They are unfinished sentences. They are eleven years of silence humming like a live wire. They are the kind of love that doesn’t fade, it ferments. It gets stronger. Sharper. A little dangerous.
Abby broke my heart from page one. Dragged away. Silenced. Forced into a life she never chose. You can feel the weight of everything she’s carrying. She isn’t weak. She’s surviving. She built walls so high they practically scrape the clouds, and every time Jackson gets close, you can hear the cracks spiderwebbing through them. Watching her try to protect him while still loving him had me STRESSED.
And Jackson. JACKSON.
This man did not just pine. He searched. For eleven years. He never let her go. Not in his heart, not in his head. He built a life, sure, but Abby was the ghost in every room. When he finally finds her? The tension is electric. Not cute. Not soft. Electric. He knows something is wrong. He feels it in his bones. And the way he refuses to walk away again? That unwavering, stubborn, I-will-burn-the-world-for-the-truth energy? Inject it into my veins.
The slow unraveling of what really happened had me flipping pages like a woman possessed. Every reveal hit harder than the last. The truth isn’t dramatic for the sake of drama. It hurts. It makes sense. It makes you furious. It makes you ache for both of them.
Their chemistry? Unreal. It’s not just physical, though yes, that heat is very much there. It’s the history. The shared looks. The unfinished conversations. The way he still knows her. The way she still reacts to him like muscle memory. It feels intimate in a way that sneaks up on you.
This story is about love that refuses to die. About choices stolen. About finding your way back to the one person who always felt like home. It’s protective, emotional, intense, and just the right amount of angsty without ever tipping into ridiculous.
I cried. I swooned. I wanted to shake them. I wanted to hug them. By the end, I was emotionally wrung out and completely satisfied.
If you love second chances with depth, secrets that actually matter, a hero who does not quit, and a heroine whose strength is quiet but unbreakable, read this immediately.
Huge thank you to Jennifer Harrison and Hayling Books for this eARC in exchange for my honest review!
This was my first book by Jennifer and I am so thoroughly impressed! I was absolutely absorbed into the storyline within the first two chapters. The pacing was set early on and I could not put this one down! This was an extremely raw and emotional storyline that had me crying multiple times.
Abby's storyline absolutely wrecked me. Like her pain and emotions? They were basically mine that's how all encompassing and powerful Jennifer wrote Abby's story to be. What she went through caused me legitimate ✨🌈 anxiety 🌈✨ and anger. Although her character went through so much, she still was such a beautiful light in the storyline and her heart remained pure. Does that make sense? I hope you see what I see because I think Jennifer wrote a beautiful and complicated character/backstory.
Jackson was a walking green flag. That man was straight up devoted, determined and looking for Abby for 11 years.. like that man never gave up. I was DOWN SO BAD for him. Like that is the definition of swoon-worthy. And once he found her, he did not give up on Abby still, he kept his determination and filled the role she needed while he waited.
Abby and Jackson together though? Invigorating, electric and all consuming. I loved the way they balanced and supported one another. The chemistry was top tier. Their relationship and storyline was unlike anything I have read and it was really special. I truly believe Jennifer wrote something special in this relationship.
You're probably wondering why I gave this four stars when my review was glowing.. right? I will be honest that a few things just didn't line up for me.. like how did the PI find her but not know everything.. IYKYK! The whole storyline with Abby's husband towards the end just felt off and I ended up not being the biggest fan of it. There were a few things that felt unfinished or forgotten throughout the storyline.. nothing major but little details. Granted, overall this did not effect my overall enjoyment of the book.
Would I suggest this to a friend? Yes, I would suggest this to a friend still! Would I continue on with the series? Yes!! Would I reread? Yes! Would I like a trophy? Yes!
This story is not a second chance romance like I am used to. This romance was ripped at the seams and forced into silence. The romance never ended in the traditional sense. Jennifer Harrison has written an amazing story that I felt in my soul while reading. Obsessed, part of the Falcon Pointe series, is a love story about not giving up, ever. The way our MCs love each other and find their ways back to each other is breathtaking. This story is one that will live within me for a while.
Abby is a woman who had to grow up in survival mode. Her parents forced her into a marriage that was about control, not love. She was removed from a life and a person that made her feel safe and seen. Now the walls have had to be built so high and reinforced so much that she is going through the motions. What some may view as weak or brittle, she is doing everything she can to survive in her own personal prison that is her life.
Jackon never gave up on Abby and the love they once shared. When she disappears without a word, he begins searching for her. Eleven years and he never stopped. Now he’s found her again, but it isn’t the same woman from over a decade ago. He lost her once, he isn’t losing her again though. Through unconditional love, unwavering commitment, and caring stubbornness he is going to bring back the girl Abby once was.
I was not ready for the emotional turmoil this book was going to bring me. Am I glad I read it? Absolutely! The pain these two go through is felt while reading. Their journeys twist and curve until they finally intersect again, but with so much pain and hurt being pulled behind them. As Abby begins to trust Jackson again and feels his unwavering love for her, they begin to break down both their walls together. Jennifer has written an amazing book and I will definitely be reading more of her works. From beginning to end this book captivated me and refused to let go.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
What to Expect: 🏈Friends to Lovers 💚Second Chance Romance 🏈Found Family 💚Protective Hero 🏈First Love
Obsessed by Jennifer Harrison is an emotionally charged and book I’ve read in a long time. This story doesn’t just show domestic violence—it shows the psychological trap, the fear, the manipulation, and the exhausting, terrifying strength it takes to try to escape it. The story felt very realistic and the abuse wasn’t portrayed as constant chaos, but as a cycle—moments of control, moments of fear, and moments of false hope. You truly feel the main character’s internal struggle: the doubt, the guilt, the isolation, and the quiet calculations that come with simply trying to survive. Jennifer Harrison did an incredible job portraying how leaving isn’t a single decision—it’s a process. It’s fear battling with courage over and over again. It’s rebuilding your sense of self after it’s been slowly worn down. Watching the main character fight for her freedom was heartbreaking, frustrating, and deeply inspiring all at once. Jennifer Harrison created a story that did a fantastic job portraying how leaving is not just one single decision but rather it is a process. It is fear battling with courage over and over again. She does not romanticize domestic abuse, rather how fighting for ones freedom is heartbreaking, frustrating and finally freeing. Watching the main character work through these phases was an emotional journey I was not prepared for. This book was difficult to read at times, but in the most meaningful way. It sheds light on a reality many people face but few fully understand. It reminds you that survival is not weakness—it’s strength. I was so absorbed from beginning to end, I could not put it down. Obsessed is a powerful, important, and unforgettable story that everyone should read at least once. Thank you to the Jennifer Harrison and Hayling Bookstorm Ltd Services for the ARC.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars. Please keep in mind the “star rating” is based off of my personal interest. Just because it’s my rating doesn’t mean it’s not someone’s 5 star!
I had to take a min to let this book sink in when I was finished. The subject matter was heavy on domestic violence. Obsessed brought out many emotions: frustration, pain, sadness, confusion and hope.
Abby was beat down and broken until she wasn’t the same person. My heart ached for her to survive and just get through each day living a life that was stolen from Her. While Jackson was trying his best to find her while still dreaming and living life the best he could. His drive to find Abby is admirable. Never losing sight of Abby and their promised forever relationship. Jackson was so caught up that he had to hide secrets to those closest to him.
There was a decent amount of repetition with the dual points of view changeover.
Jennifer hit it right on the nose describing domestic violence and what a victim or a survivor has to go through just to make it through each day.
Obsessed was different from most of my other reads. Readers are left guessing and waiting forever for some answers. I was starting to get frustrated with guesses. Another plot twist came out of left field and I was left stunned into silence. There just was no explanation and bam! Hello plot twist. 👀
Abby’s story is extremely emotional and heartbreaking there were moments I was right there with her, trying to force my opinion into her head. I could not imagine being ripped away from everything and being told how to live the rest of your life with so many consequences and pain. Jackson’s unwavering love had me covering my eyes at points and I just wanted to tell him to hang in there!
I hope there are some spin offs from this book! A few side characters seem like there’s a lot more to their story!
You should read this if you enjoy: second chances, found family, first love, spice 🌶️. The football player romance is very much a backseat to the overall story.
I’m glad I had the opportunity to read this book as an ARC.
I picked this up because the blurb and tropes were exactly my taste. Second chance ✅ Friends to lovers ✅ Protective hero ✅
The premise had me hooked immediately and to be fair there was quite a lot of emotional tension and unspoken words. The characters and their emotional struggles felt real and the family dynamics gave real weight to the story. I was really surprised when they got to Abby’s life. The amount of family pressure and expectations to keep up with her cultural traditions, reputations and honor. She was a strong girl❤️ And Jackson was quite the pining guy. Eleven years waiting for her and when he found her he to wait more. My heart totally broke for Cole. A child should never be treated that way.
When I received the book I was putting it off for a long time as it was quite long. Plus almost DNF’d when she went and had sex with Jackson rather than talking to him and sorting things out while being married to Sung ho.I get it he deserved it but still it’s a trope that I don’t prefer. Also why the hell was she taking so long to tell Jackson about Cole and what about the private investigator Jackson hired did he forget to mention about her marriage and kid? I would have also liked to know what happened to her husband in the end. Even though it’s mentioned she went and filed a case, would’ve been nice to read about how it went with him.
Overall a good emotional read with strong themes and slight frustrations.
It was a 3.75 ⭐️ for me
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
There are spoilers in my review. Jackson and Abby were childhood friends and then dated in high school. Until Abby just completely disappeared one day. Jackson has been looking for her ever since. When he finally finds her, 11 years later. He is completely worried about her reaction at seeing him again. And he is also worried that she doesn’t love him anymore. Abby is a shell of the person she once was. Her parents had arranged her marriage when she was just a child. So, when she told them she was pregnant, at 17. With Jackson’s baby. She became a disgrace to her “family”. They moved so she wouldn’t be near Jackson. And since her “husband” was still willing to marry her. Even though she was tarnished. She obeyed her mother and married him. She didn’t want to cause any more disgrace to her family. By refusing. Unfortunately, her husband isn’t a good man. He emotionally and physically abuses her. Her mother knows about it. But has told her. If you just obey him. “That wouldn’t happen”. This was a good story. There were a couple times the story seemed to drag a little. And I know after years of abuse people can be depressed and have hopelessness. But I still don’t see how she couldn’t see how toxic her parents and husband were. Maybe because they had been beating her down for so long. She just couldn’t see what was happening. And how it would just keep getting worse. Jackson was the unrelenting golden retriever. He just didn’t give up on her. And that is exactly what she needed. This was has a well-deserved HEA! You might need to keep a box of Kleenex close….
This was my first book by Jennifer, and she did not disappoint. The story between Abby and Jackson was beautifully written for this second-chance romance novel. You’ll find in this book a second-chance romance, an FMC who is finding herself again, an MMC who will drop everything for those he loves, found family, someone who went “missing” in the middle of the night, arranged marriage, and more! The FMC Abby, what can I say but this was a journey for her. You can feel her raw pain, her emotional turmoil, and her need to remember who she was before her life was turned upside down. Her story shows what one will do to protect the one they love the most. Her dedication as a mother was shown perfectly through this book. The MMC Jackson is what every man should strive to be. This man is showing up, being patient, is understanding of the situation presented to him, and is the ideal partner. I like that Jennifer was able to keep the reader wanting to know more about Abby and Jackson’s past. We needed to know what the heck happened to make one just disappear overnight, never to be seen again, and she did a great job at keeping it hidden until the time was right for the big reveal. I also like that most aspects in this book are things that happen in the real world. You can feel the raw emotions that went into writing this book. I will be looking forward to more stories that come from Flacon Pointe.
Abby and Jackson absolutely carried this story for me. They were beautifully written, layered, and felt real in a way that made it easy to stay emotionally invested in them. And Cole… that sweet boy completely stole my heart. My feelings for him went through the wringer, I was rooting for him, hurting for him, and healing right alongside him. The characters as a whole were easily a 5⭐️ for me.
Where I struggled a bit was with the plot. There were several moments that left me confused or pulled me out of the story. I found myself questioning things like Jackson’s past, his relationship with Steven, and whether all of that backstory was necessary. Some elements felt overcomplicated when they could’ve been simpler. I also didn’t fully understand what was going on with Grady or Jackson’s sister, and the timeline when Jackson was back in Colorado felt unclear and hard to follow. Because of that, the plot lands at about 3⭐️ for me.
The ending was satisfying in the sense that we got a HEA, which I always love. I just wish it hadn’t taken quite so long to get there, and that we had more time seeing them together as a family once everything settled. So for me, the ending is another 3⭐️.
Overall, this was a 4⭐️ read. Strong, emotional characters with a story that had a lot of potential, even if some parts didn’t fully land for me.

When I tell you I could not put this book down, I could not put this book down. There are triggers warnings thag I will state at the beginning of this review: there are talks about domestic violence, abuse, child endangerment, sexual assault (in a way), alcohol abuse, and mentions of self harm. Its a pretty tough book to read so be warned of that is something that will trigger you.
On to my review. I was anxious for Abby. I never experience domestic violence, and I hope I never do, but reading it was so tough. I would get aggravated that she wouldnt just get up and leave, but then I took a step back and I remembered that it is not easy for victims to leave fhe situation they are in because it could go worse for them if they do. Which is what happened with Abby.
Im so glad Jackson never gave up on her. I am so glad that after all that time, he just knew there was something wrong and he thay he stayed 🥺. I was surprised when I learned something about Jackson. It was quite unexpected 😅, but thay just means he had someone else in his corner 🥹
And Cole. That sweet sweet boy 🥺 i immediately felt that surge of protectiveness for him. Abby did such a great job protecting him from the horrors of their reality. And now they are free and protected 🥹 he can go long now without feeling terrified
Im interested in Xander though. Ever since his introduction, hes got some secrets I hope we can unravel soon 👀
A second chance romance that wrecked me! Seriously - I started crying about 80% in until the end.
Obsessed pulled me in from the very first chapter and did not let go. This is the second book I've read by Jennifer Harrison, and just like Addicted, it easily earned 5 stars from me.
Jackson and Abby’s story is layered with heartbreak, longing, and the kind of first love that never really fades. When Abby disappears from Jackson’s life as a teen, he spends years wondering what happened and never truly moving on. Eleven years later, after hiring a PI, he finally finds her… and what he discovers is devastating.
Abby is living a life she never chose, trapped in a loveless and abusive marriage while trying to protect the truth about her past and the life she has built for her son.
This book delivered so many of my favorite elements
-Second chance romance -First love that lingers -Protective hero energy -Emotional trauma and healing -A slow unraveling of truth that keeps you turning pages
I read this in one sitting.
While this can be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend starting with Addicted for the full Falcon Pointe experience.
If you love emotional, angsty romance with depth, healing, and a hero who refuses to walk away, this is worth the read.
Jackson finally found Abby, she disappeared over ten years ago without any explanation.Abby is not free to come back, she was forced to live a life she didn't choose, and it's not easy to leave now. Will those two find a way to be with each other,or is it too late?
I thought I will be obsessed, but it miss the mark with me.While I enjoyed some parts,I could not connected with characters.Abby was in constant "I can't " and "It's complicated",Jackson trying to hold all together, his sister friends etc,it was tiring after a while. Thanks for Jackson friend Steven who constantly reminds him that he's there for him whatever he needs(they were lovers in the past),it was as Steven was waiting for Jax to come back to him.The secondary characters are there, and it seems there's a opening for other books with them, while I didn't mind it it did pull my attention from Abby and Jackson, which resolved to dragging the story to long.My favorite character was Cole,he deserve so much better then that. There is a lot of sadness, disturbing behavior, first love, second chances and a shot at better life. While I enjoyed it mostly it was not my favorite.
Please read warnings first.
Thank you hayling bookstorm publisher and author for arc,my review is honest and my own.
Thank you to Hayling Books Storm & Jennifer Harrison for the ARC!
I gave this book a 3.75/5 and I will explain why it went from a 4 star to a 3.75 for my preference.
This was my first Jennifer Harrison book, and while I really enjoyed it, it was definitely heartbreaking. There were several moments where my heart just hurt for Abby and Cole. That said, there were a few things that left me confused. I never fully understood why Abby’s parents stood by and did nothing. It wasn’t clear whether that was cultural or tied to her father’s business, and I kept waiting for more explanation. I also had questions about several plot points—why Abby didn’t tell Jackson about his son, why she felt she had to leave her child, and the comment about her husband always finding her, which made it seem like she had tried to run away before.
The situation with Steven also felt off to me. Abbey and Jackson were together in high school, but it sounded like Steven was also involved during that same time, which was confusing. On top of that, Jackson was seeing other women, keeping Steven on the side, and still pining for Abbey. It just didn’t quite work for me.
Because of those issues, I’d rate the book a 3.75. Even so, I liked the author’s writing enough that I plan to read more. I’ve already started the first book in the Falcon Point series after finishing Obsessed.

A contemporary romance centered on second chance love, friends to lovers, protective hero vibes, and emotional stakes involving hidden truths and past trauma.
Obsessed by Jennifer Harrison is the second book in the Falcon Pointe series, following Addicted. I haven’t read the first book, don’t think you really need to, but I’m going back at some point as I loved this one so much.
The story alternates between Abby and Jackson’s. Abby was forcibly separated from her first love (Jackson) as a teen by her parents, leading to a life of survival in an unhappy marriage.
Years later, Jackson, now a determined, and hardened man, tracks her down after never giving up the search. He’s not just seeking closure, he’s driven to reclaim her and uncover what really happened.
Jackson and Abby just wrecked me, I cried, I wanted that happy ending for them. A twist I sort of saw coming and a betrayal that had me reaching for the chocolate and blanket. 😢
If you’re into angsty second chance stories with a hero who never stopped loving/caring, protective alpha energy, and a heroine with a traumatic past she’s guarded for years, this one is definitely for you.
Have you read the first book, or are you, like me jumping straight in?
This book kept me engrossed to make me want to continue till I finish. The author did a good job with having the story wrapped around a sensitive topic of domestic abuse. I love the dual perspective and author does a great job with giving readers engaged with their personalities and what they are going through. In some ways, both characters are stuck and lost; Jackson with his love for Abby for so long and has never moved on and spent 13 years trying to find her, and he finally did! Abby in a forced marriage due to pregnancy, her family and 'husband put so much pressure, strict restrictions and it's all kinds of abuse from the husband and her mother. At times though I wanted Abby to do something before it progressed further. I also wanted her to open up to Jackson more but kept him hanging on. If I could change some things about the book, it would probably be the title and cover, and i feel Jackson is more than noted as a football player, more of a bar owner than anything else. the cover doesn't really fit what the book is about. While there are some spicy scenes, it's minimal and not much detail when there is. Didn't care for the scenes with her husband.
I thought the first book on this series broke me well I was truly mistaken. After reading this book I don’t know how I’ll ever recover
Jackson’s life was very simple when he was young, falling in love with his best friend was the most amazing thing that had happened to him only for her to disappear. He’s spent Eleven years trying to find her but when he does things have changed and she’s no longer the Sam girl she once was.
Abby, a fun loving artist whose life was ripped from her grasp, forced to move far away from the one person who knew her completely and loved her unconditionally. Forced into a life she didn’t want and made to forget about the one she so desperately wished she could have.
This book had me feeling happiness, sadness, dispare and the feeling of pure gut wretchedness.
Jackson’s and Abby’s story was one I won’t ever forget and I honestly hope we get one belonging to Steven and Xander.
Abby and Jackson grew up together as next-door-neighbors. He was bound for the NFL, she wanted to be a famous artist. Fate had other plans for them. Abby's parents took her and moved far away while Jackson was playing an important football game, and forbid her from contacting him again. Just like that, she was gone and they didn't speak again. Eleven years later, Jackson hasn't moved on, and hires a private investigator to find his only love. What he doesn't know is that Abby's life has been anything but a fairytale, and she is hiding a few pretty big secrets. Will they be able to work through the circumstances that pulled them apart and have their HEA, or is it just too much to overcome? This book is very emotional and filled with complicated characters who are trying to overcome obstacles and move forward in an uncertain future. Be sure to read the warnings, as there are DV triggers, but definitely give it a read!
Thank you, Jennifer Harrison and Hayling Bookstorm, for an ARC of Obsessed. This novel has some trigger warnings, such as domestic violence, so please make sure to read those before starting. After 60% read, I almost rates this one 2 stars. However, after about 62%, it picked up and I ended up really liking the final 30ish%. Up until then, I felt it was so slow and incredibly repetitive. Obsessed follows Abby and Jackson, childhood friends turned to lovers. Abby’s parents moved her away eleven years ago, and Jackson has made it his mission to find her. Once he finds her via PI, he goes to her. After we are convinced he is madly in love with Abby, we also find out he has a lover back home who is head over heels for him. I instantly loathed that story line because it made Jackson look like he was just using this other person. I feel like this could have been made into a novella with how repetitive and slow the first half is. 3 ⭐️ and 1/2 🌶️
Obsessed is an emotional second chance romance that completely captured my heart. Abby and Jackson’s story is filled with longing, heartbreak, and the kind of love that refuses to fade even after eleven years apart. The mystery surrounding Abby’s disappearance adds a compelling layer of suspense, but the true strength of this story is the emotional depth. Watching Jackson refuse to give up on the girl he never stopped loving was both tender and powerful. Abby’s strength and the sacrifices she carried quietly for years made their reunion even more meaningful. With friends to lovers history, first love nostalgia, found family, and a fiercely protective hero, this book delivers all the feels. The slow unraveling of the truth and the intensity of their connection kept me hooked until the very last page. If you love angsty, heartfelt second chance romance with a hero who never stopped searching, you need this one on your TBR.
woah. I started this book at 2:00 and finished it at 3:15 AM!
I did receive this as an ARC so thank you so much Jennifer🫶🏻🫶🏻 but other than that this book was AMAZING.
The story itself was SO fast paced, I loved the past pov chapters. I feel like I got to know the characters so so well! The fmc is such a strong women and I am so proud of her by the end of the novel (when you read it you’ll understand)
the fact that he waited for her for YEARS like omg. he fell in love with his best friend and he never stopped even tho I love Steven hehe Abby and Jackson are endgame.
I was sobbing with them, giggling with them, and even getting angry at some certain characters! I felt like I was watching a movie!!🫶🏻🫶🏻
Cole is such a sweetheart! He is such a kind and caring kid especially towards his mom, Abby the fmc!
when this releases please read it!!
ALSO sung-ho? go to hell like omg I don’t think I’ve ever hated a character like this since Mark and Teddy from BOT 😭😭
This was not a romance. This was a story of survival, and it was an absolutely brutal read.
I don’t agree with cheating by any of the main characters, but I felt conflicted about this. Her husband was abusive and Jackson was clearly her love. I just wish that he showed more actual emotion about everything.
The MM action was weird to me. He's obsessed with her, and she’s lived a pretty brutal life. I get the hooking up with other women… I mean, it’s been 11 years, but a weird relationship with another man???
Overall, this was a page turner. It was heartbreaking and brutal. Abby was conditioned by her family to accept bare minimum, and her willingness to still see her parents when they enable abuse just hurt. The only issue I have is that everything was very much ‘tell’, not much in the way of show….
I really enjoyed the plot line about Jackson and Abby, childhood sweethearts that lost their way, the Duel pov, the memories versus life now. This story really was about finding the strength to do the right thing for your own happiness even if it goes against what your family might think. It did have some dv on page( not between main characters) which helped the FMC realise this wasnt how she wanted her life at all and Jackson really helped her remember her voice and that she was her own person and not property. The story was paced really well and the characters were relatable a mom getting her kid to school and having a million things on her mind. Having re found Jackson as her safe place made her believe it more. Its an emotionally charged book, but worth the read.
Thankyou to Haylings BookStorm and Jennifer Harrison for the opportunity to read and reveiw Obsessed.
Umm.. where should I start. Firstly, A lot of heavy topics have been covered. I am not quite okay with the reasoning Abby gave about disappearing. The way she met with Jackson I don't know, it did not sit right with me. And Jackson swinging the other way with Steven also looks like a forced fit. Umm..Secondly, the woman was suffering...at a certain point I could not sympathize with her for some reason. A lot of her decisions did not make sense to me. Like, her not contacting earlier, not telling about Cole in the beginning. This was not it for me.
But, focusing on the good part I like the author's writing. I hope she writes something structured and meaningful. I would love to read it and give a second shot.
This had me hooked instantly, Jackson and Abby’s love story is devastatingly beautiful. I won’t lie, about 85% of the book I was rooting for Jackson to help Abby but walk away from her romantically. I am glad they got their happy ending in the end though, reading about Abby’s story really broke me and healed me all at once, having watched something similar growing up. I don’t want to give away too much but the strength she shows is quite incredible.
Thank you for letting me ARC this book! It was truly an honor, I loved it ♥️
“Obsessed” had me constantly wondering what was going to happen next. Jackson and Abby (or Ab-hi) were high school sweethearts until she suddenly moves away without telling him. Jackson deals with a football career ending knee injury and mourns the loss of Abby in liquor and women. Abby is forced into a marriage with Sung-ho. He is a strict domineering man who controls every aspect of the lives of Abby and her son Cole. Jackson hires someone to find Abby and when they do, Jackson goes to get her back. It’s a story of a woman in a domestically violent marriage who searches for a way out. “Obsessed” is a very moving story.
I received an ARC for Obsession the 2nd in the Falcon Pointe series. Im glad I started with book one these book Overlap so they are happening in the same time frame. Please check the trigger warnings. This is Jackson and Abby's story. Dang I read this book so fast. I needed answers. I going to try and not spoil anything. Jackson and Abby were best friends growing up. Until it turned into more. They loved each other. Then one day she was gone. Poor Abby she was going through so much. And Jackson just wanted her back the second he found her he refused to leave her. This was such an emotional book.
Wow. I cried multiple times, this book was deep and emotional and tackled really serious issues in a conscientious way. I loved everything the author gave us in this book-at times i wanted to shout ‘stop saying soon and do it’ but i understand this was exactly as this situation would play out irl. Beautifully heartbreaking. I have immediately added the other book in this series to my tbr and hope and pray we get more because the characters in this book are all in need of their own story. Thankyou for this gorgeous read.
First time I’ve read this author and I have to say it was a good book. The story was well written with developed characters and chemistry off the pages. I liked learning the different culture of Abby’s family. At first I felt like she was a weak MFC but as the story her culture and circumstances I realized she was stronger than I gave her credit for. I loved that neither her nor Jackson ever stopped loving each other. And that’s the kind of love everyone wants and deserves. I’ll read the other books in this series to find out more about the other characters.
