Let’s get one thing straight: if you skip the trigger warnings for this book, that’s on you. I went in cocky, thinking “how dark can this really get?” and then Priest showed up and bitch slapped my expectations straight into the abyss. This man isn’t just morally grey, he’s the fucking black hole at the centre of your emotional galaxy. If there’s a color darker than pitch black, that’s where Priest is currently setting up camp, probably tearing a man's throat out, because " He looked at him wrong" 😄
I’m not easily bothered, but damn, this book made me question myself right alongside the FMC. Priest is violent, twisted, unhinged, and somehow you end up craving him through the pain, the humiliation, the utter chaos he drags you through.
This book is dark as hell and endlessly fascinating. If there’s one thing I’d nitpick, it’s this: I needed a better balance between plot and steam. I knoooow it usually comes with the territory in this genre, but a girl can have preferences, right? I mean, sure, it was hot, but sometimes I wanted action that didn’t just involve a bed (or a wall… or a sofa… you get the idea 😌😉). Give me more revenge, more high-stakes chaos, more of that “I will burn the world for you” energy. The scene where Priest goes after A’s necklace? Absolute perfection. That’s the darkness I signed up for. Gimme that all day.
If you’re looking for sunshine and rainbows, run. If you want to be emotionally waterboarded by a book and fall for a man who puts the “daddy” in “dangerous,” Made for Death will drag you through the dark, chew you up, spit you out and still leave you thirsty for more and you’ll thank it. Read the fucking warnings, and welcome to hell, babe. 🍷
