I stare at the photograph. It was taken on an ordinary day at the park. The four of us look so happy – our smiles wide and cheeks rosy. But just a month after this image was taken, I lost everything.
I’m watching them now, walking in the park my handsome husband, my beautiful daughter and my adorable son. They’re with her. She’s playing happy families with my loved ones. She stole them from me.
She thinks she’s got rid of me. But I’m going to get my family back. And I’m going to get revenge…
The Happy Family is an utterly page-turning and completely addictive psychological thriller full of incredible twists by number one bestselling author Daniel Hurst. Perfect for fans of T.M. Logan, John Marrs and Freida McFadden.

Luna has achieved what she's always wanted, a happy family, and she'll do anything to keep it. The only problem is, Sadie, the woman she stole it from, isn't going to sit idly by and watch another woman take her place. She’s not disappearing quietly. She wants her family back. And she wants revenge. The drama kicks off immediately and never lets up.
Let me be very clear: this book is wildly unhinged. The plot goes from zero to absolutely feral in record time, and the realism was left behind several twists ago. But it's important to know that those elements did not detract from my enjoyment one bit. This is the third book in the series, and it absolutely should NOT be read as a standalone. You need the full chaotic backstory to appreciate just how far off the rails things have gone. The POV shifts between Luna, Sadie, Reid, and Gemma, which keeps the intensity high. However, I have to confess, I hated Reid’s chapters. Every time his name popped up, I sighed. Mission accomplished, I guess, because he grated on my every last nerve. You'll see what I mean.
What makes this series so addictive is how unapologetically dramatic it is. The revenge is pettier, and the stakes are somehow always escalating. It’s messy, it’s over-the-top, it’s completely bonkers, and I flew through it. If you’re looking for a subtle literary exploration of family dynamics, this ain't it. But if you want wildly dramatic domestic suspense that commits fully to the chaos, this series is such a binge. Aaaand, I may be speaking out of turn, but it seems as if this story may not be over just yet. Many thanks to Bookouture for this fun early copy that will publish April 20, 2026.
This was the perfect ending to an absolutely addictive and chaotic trilogy.
From the very beginning, this series has thrived on tension, manipulation, and psychological mind games—and this final installment delivers all of that at full force. The pacing is relentless, the twists keep coming, and the drama never lets up.
Luna continues to be one of the most fascinating—and infuriating—characters I’ve read in a long time. She’s not just chaotic for the sake of it; she’s calculated, manipulative, and constantly controlling the narrative in ways that are both impressive and deeply unsettling.
What stood out to me most in this book is how the story evolves. Instead of relying purely on shock, it leans into strategy and consequence. The tension feels more intentional, the character dynamics shift in a satisfying way, and when the turning point comes, it feels earned.
This is definitely not a standalone—you need the full backstory to appreciate just how far everything has spiraled.
If you love fast-paced psychological thrillers with morally grey characters, constant twists, and a finale that actually delivers, this series is absolutely worth the ride.
3.5 ⭐️ Thanks to netgalley for an ARC of ‘The happy family’, this is the third book in the hunt family series.
While I think this was a good ending to this series, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first two books. I found the first 30% to be predictable and I wasn’t as drawn in.
However, I became more intrigued as the story progressed. Sadie wakes up from her coma faking amnesia with the hope to trick Luna to try and enact some revenge. After Sadie woke up from the coma, I was more interested in what was going to happen next while rooting for Sadie. It was a FINALLY moment after Luna has been able to trick everybody for far too long.
This hunt series was enjoyable and fast-paced and although I wasn’t as invested in the third instalment as I had been with the other two books, I would recommend this series. This is a good series for someone who likes fast-paced, action-packed and thrilling books.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Thank you Netgalley for the arc! Wow and wow! The third book did not disappoint! I could not put this down. After reading the first two books I was checking daily for the third! Could not wait to see what happened with loony Luna! The ending was perfect! I was hoping for that exact outcome for her! One of my most hated fictional characters. She was a total train wreck and I was here for it😂👏🏻!
PUBLISH DATE: Apr 20 2026 The Happy Family by Daniel Hurst (Book #3) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was the perfect ending to an addictive trilogy.
What makes this series so compelling isn’t just the twists. It’s the psychological chess match. Luna has been one of the most fascinating villains I’ve read in a long time, not because she’s loud or dramatic, but because she is terrifyingly skilled at controlling the narrative. Watching her manipulate perception, sympathy, and timing over three books has been both impressive and unsettling.
In this final installment, the tension shifts in a really satisfying way. The power dynamic begins to change. Instead of frantic reactions, we see strategy. Instead of emotional explosions, we see patience. That shift is what makes this book work so well. It doesn’t rely on shock alone. It builds.
There’s a steady escalation throughout the story that feels intentional rather than chaotic. When the turning point comes, it feels earned. Nothing is handed to the characters easily, and the resolution respects the journey it took to get there.
I also appreciated that the ending avoided clichés. It didn’t tie everything up in a perfectly neat bow, but it provided emotional closure in a way that felt mature and realistic. Growth mattered. Consequences mattered. And the characters’ futures felt believable.
This book surprised me, even though I could see the groundwork being laid. That’s the best kind of twist. It doesn’t come out of nowhere, but it still lands hard.
As a full trilogy, this series earns five stars from me. Fast-paced, psychologically sharp, and anchored by one of the most unforgettable villains I’ve read recently.
PUBLISH DATE: Apr 20 2026 BOOK TITLE: The Happy Family SERIES: Book 3 of The Hunt family AUTHOR: Daniel Hurst PUBLISHER: Bookouture FORMAT: ebook PAGES: I received a complimentary digital ARC [Advanced Reader copy] of this book via NetGalley. Thank you to the Publisher and the Author for the opportunity to read and review this title prior to publication. As always, the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
The Happy Family by Daniel Hurst, the last in the trilogy….
An absolute must to read these in order, and read these you should because they are amazing!
Thank you, thank you, thank you #NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book in return for my honest review, opinions and feedback on it.
Intriguing, Intense, Insane! Daniel has done it again. This book is another completely unputdownable masterpiece, and I savored every single second of the reading experience!
Wowzers! The unforgettable character of Looney Luna, or as I've affectionately—and perhaps a little fearfully—dubbed her, LunaTic Luna, is back and more captivating than ever in this third and final installment of the series. The tension and drama had been building relentlessly, and with the walls beginning to ominously close in on her by the end of the second book, my anticipation to discover her ultimate fate in this conclusion was through the roof. I simply couldn't wait to turn the pages.
This final chapter delivers a pulse-pounding, high-stakes conclusion that fans of the series have been craving. Daniel's masterful storytelling weaves a complex web of psychological manipulation and thrilling action, forcing the reader to question not only Luna's sanity but the motivations of everyone around her. The narrative pacing is relentless, accelerating toward an inevitable, explosive climax.
The central, burning question that fuels the entire book remains: Will crazy win? Will Luna, in her chaotic, unpredictable brilliance, manage to outmaneuver the forces of justice and sanity that are closing in on her? Or will she finally, justly, and definitively get what she deserves in the end for the sheer devastation and heartache she has mercilessly wrought, leaving a trail of utterly destroyed lives in her wake?
This finale is a deeply satisfying, albeit unsettling, exploration of morality, consequence, and the fine line between genius and madness. Prepare for a sleepless night, as once you start, there's no turning back from the thrilling, dark world of LunaTic Luna.
The Happy Family is a sleek, addictive psychological thriller that hooks you from its very first image—a sun‑washed family photograph that should have captured nothing more than an ordinary day at the park. Instead, it becomes the last snapshot of a life that shatters only a month later. That contrast between the bright, smiling surface and the devastation that follows sets the tone for a story built on fractured trust, simmering resentment, and the dangerous pull of obsession.
The narrator’s voice is intimate and unsettling in the best way: a woman pushed to the margins of her own life, watching her husband and children stroll through the park with the woman who has taken her place. There’s a quiet ache beneath her words, but also a sharp, gathering resolve. She hasn’t disappeared—not really—and the tension comes from knowing she’s inching closer to reclaiming what she lost, even if revenge is the only path left to her.
Daniel Hurst plays beautifully with the claustrophobia of domestic spaces, turning everyday moments into something charged and watchful. The neighbourhood feels polished on the outside but threaded with secrets, and the sense that everyone is performing a version of themselves adds to the creeping unease. The pacing is brisk, the chapters tight, and the twists arrive with that satisfying snap that keeps you reading long past when you meant to stop.
What lingers is the emotional undercurrent: the grief, the fury, the desperate longing for a life that slipped away too easily. It gives the thriller its weight, grounding the suspense in something painfully human. By the time the truth unravels, the story has shifted into a sharp, compulsive exploration of how far someone will go when they’ve been pushed out of their own family.
A tense, twist‑driven read perfect for fans of domestic suspense that blends emotional depth with relentless momentum.
With thanks to Daniel Hurst, the publisher and netgalley for the ARC
Daniel Hurst has done it again — and honestly, at this point, he’s firmly cemented himself as one of my absolute favourite authors. If psychological thrillers with jaw-dropping tension, obsessive characters, and constant unease are your thing, this trilogy is an absolute must-read.
The Happy Family is the perfect finale. From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The story pulls you straight back into the chaos without heavy recaps, and the fast, short chapters make it dangerously easy to keep turning the pages.
What truly makes this series shine is the psychological battle. The manipulation, the power plays, the slow-burn tension — it all feels so calculated and intense. Luna is one of the most chilling antagonists I’ve read in a long time. Not loud. Not dramatic. Just quietly terrifying in the way she controls situations, people, and perception.
But Sadie completely stole the spotlight in this final book. Watching her transformation into a strong, determined, unstoppable force was beyond satisfying. The power shift throughout the story is brilliantly done, and when things finally start to turn, it feels earned — not rushed, not forced, just perfectly timed.
I also really loved getting multiple perspectives. It added layers, depth, and emotional impact, especially when secrets started colliding and plans began to unravel. The tension builds steadily and relentlessly, making the payoff hit that much harder.
The ending? So good. No cheap twists. No overly neat resolutions. Just emotional closure, realism, and consequences that actually matter. It wrapped up the trilogy in a way that felt both powerful and fitting.
As a full series, this trilogy is gripping, addictive, and psychologically sharp. If you love thrillers that mess with your head and keep you hooked, this one deserves a spot at the very top of your TBR.
Title: The Happy Family Author: Daniel Hurst Series: The Hunt Family Book #3 Publisher: Bookouture Genre: Psychological Thriller Pub Date: April 20, 2026 My Rating: 4.5 Stars Pages: 336
Part #3 is once again told from the POV of Luna, Sadie, Reid and Gemma although not new to the series she has a few things to say.
Story picks up from where I Stole Your Family left off. In fact, if you haven’t read it or I want your Family Book #1 is best to do so as you need to know and get a better understand of ‘Lunatic’ Luna and the twisted way she manipulated Reid and Sadie as well as their children. (The books are short so reading either or both won’t take long!)
Luna has convinces herself that she's deserves her new life - yet she is fearful it will all be taken away from her. She decides the best way to insure her new life is to get rid of her old life to the point of committing murder.
There is no doubt that this story - last in this series is a page turner. Story will have your cheering for Sophie and perhaps a bit sad for Lunatic Luna.
I am a big Danny fan. He is an entertaining writer; this is my thirty-second thriller! I am always ready to read what his next story as I am curious what his group of psychos will have in store for me!
Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for this e-Galley. Publishing Release Date scheduled for April 20, 2026.
I had the fortune of reading the final in the fantastic trilogy, The Happy Family, the day after I read I Stole Your Family for one heck of a mind churning experience. Told in alternating perspectives, the tense build-up reached a fevered crescendo, just tightly reeled in and controlled from a writing perspective. Characters' lives fell apart but the book didn't. The pacing flew along so fast I had to force myself not to get ahead of myself.
Luna and Sadie are quite different people. But when someone takes everything away from you, rules change. In addition to Reid and the children, we see more of Sadie's parents, Gemma, and the prison guard. Deceit could be sliced with a knife but sometimes it takes people a bit longer than others to recognize it. Comeuppance and revenge come knocking and people are tangled past the point of no return. Clarity comes to some while haze comes to others. The smart writing and twist complexities left me agog. I found myself really rooting for one or two characters and was eager to see what happened to each. Boy, was I impressed.
It would be a crime to miss this astounding trilogy. Thrillers just don't get more exquisite than this, gorgeous in every way from the wondrous writing to unforgettable characterization to impeccable pacing to tongue-gnawing tension. The last instalment hit me the hardest and finished with the most satisfying bang imaginable. Why? It seeped into my heart and mind with emotional engagement in addition to frenetic psychological chaos. I feel like I just read my favourite thriller of 2026.
I received this free advance copy via Netgalley. Thank you to Daniel Hurst and Bookouture. This review is being left voluntarily and the opinions are my own.
Oh my goodness after waiting what felt like an eternity (it was only mere days), I finally got to read the final installment of the Hunt family trilogy. Let me tell you, I've been on a rollercoaster and it was a bumpy ride! I'm stilll not over it.
I honestly don't know how Daniel does it time and time again. Releasing absolute wonderful books like this repeatedly. After reading the first book in this series and thinking it couldn't be topped I think this final one in the series may have blown it out the water. Because what the hell have I just read!?
In this installment there was no preamble, the action was instant. My heart was in my mouth and I think I held my breath the whole time. There were so many points this story could have ended but instead Daniel chose to up the ante and had me gasping out loud.
My rage towards Luna definitely intensified - gone were the feelings of pity. Her need to keep "her family" drove her to even wilder lengths. My admiration for Sadie grew tenfold. Her tenacity and determination definitely spurred things along and she was no longer her former broken shell.
I have honestly loved this trilogy. If you love fast-paced, action-filled stories that will leave you on the edge of your seat, this is the trilogy for you!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of The Happy Family (The Hunt Family #3) by Daniel Hurst in exchange for an honest review.
First off, I'm an idiot. I requested this ARC because I'm a fan of Daniel Hurst (in fact, I'm in the middle of The Doctor's Wife when I put in the request). I didn't realize it was #3 in the series until it got approved. I have not read the first 2 books, and I had no trouble following the story line. However, I did wish I had read them first.
I'm a slow reader and my life is very busy, it usually takes me several weeks to finish a book, but I read this in 3 days. Very fast for me. The story started at 100 miles an hour, it felt like the final conclusion you've been waiting for... but at the very beginning of the book! I kept thinking, where can it possibly go from here!? It definitely kept me intrigued.
The downside is, the characters lacked any depth and it felt quite repetitive. Each chapter seemed to recap the last chapter and remind you of things that had happened in previous books and what was currently going on - when we didn't need SO much reminding. As I said, I didn't read the first 2, but it did have me wondering if this really could have been just one book if all the filler was removed. But, to be honest - this is partially why I was able to get through it so fast, I could skim quite a bit and still know what was going on.
Overall, I liked the book - but it wasn't my favorite by this author.
Just finished 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙛𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮 by 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚𝙡 𝙃𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙩 the third book in The Hunt Family series — and honestly, it feels SO satisfying to complete an entire series after such a long time.
The heart of the story is the main protagonist, who I’ve grown so attached to through the series. She’s sharp, observant, and emotionally resilient, but also deeply human. Not a superhero — she doubts herself, makes messy choices, protects her family fiercely, and carries the weight of every decision. That mix of strength and vulnerability makes her feel real, and I found myself rooting for her the whole time. Watching her instincts kick in when things go wrong is honestly my favourite part.
The plot twists? Classic Daniel Hurst style — fast, shocking, and slightly unsettling. Just when you think you’ve figured it out… nope. The last few chapters had me flying through the pages.
If you love: ✔️ Family secrets ✔️ Psychological drama ✔️ Short, punchy chapters ✔️ “Trust no one” vibes
…this series is totally binge-worthy.
Finishing the Hunt Family journey feels like saying goodbye to characters who’ve been living rent-free in my head for days 🥹
Releases on 20th April 🗓️ Thank you @netgalley @bookouture for the ARC!
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the early copy in exchange for my honest review.
The Happy Family is the third and final book in the Hunt trilogy. After finishing the second book and receiving the ARC for this one right after, it was a no-brainer to jump in and see how the story would end.
The story continues to follow Sadie as she tries to put her life back together after Luna entered the picture over a year ago and turned everything upside down. The tension between Sadie and Luna keeps building as Sadie tries to regain control of her life. Told through multiple perspectives, the story moves quickly as things finally reach a breaking point. I can’t say too much without spoiling the story, but Hurst does a good job tying up loose ends and bringing the trilogy to a clear conclusion.
Rating: 3.7⭐ In my opinion, this was the best of the three books. Like the first two, the multiple POVs help you get inside several characters’ minds, and the book is fast and easy to get through. Do I think this is an amazing thriller? No. But as I mentioned in my previous reviews, if you’re looking for something fast-paced and twisty, with batshit characters, I’d recommend giving this trilogy or other books by Hurst a try.
Thank you to NetGalley, Daniel Hurst, and Bookouture for a copy of The Happy Family in exchange for an honest review.
I usually try to wait until closer to release dates before diving in… but absolutely not this time. I had to finish this series. I needed answers. I needed closure. I needed to know what happened to Sadie, Gemma, Luna — all of them. The hold this messy, chaotic family has on me? Unacceptable.
Sadie… sweet Sadie. At this point, I need you to sage your life, change your name, and move to another continent because the bad luck just will not quit. Every time I think, “Surely things can’t get worse,” Daniel Hurst says, “Oh, but they can.”
And Luna? That girl is a whole problem. Devious doesn’t even begin to cover it. The manipulation, the layers, the audacity. I was stressed in the best way.
And that ending? Absolute chef’s kiss. Twisted, satisfying, and exactly the kind of dramatic punch I was hoping for. The build-up paid off, and I closed the book fully entertained.
Final Verdict: Addictive, dramatic, and impossible to ignore. If you’ve been invested in this series, you have to see it through. Five stars for keeping me hooked and leaving me shook.**
When I requested this ARC, I must have overlooked the fact it was Book #3 in a series. I haven’t read the first two books, nor anything by Daniel Hurst before.
That wasn’t a problem, however, as The Happy Family could be a standalone. I do wish I had read the stories leading up to this one, but the beginning of the book gives enough details to be able to figure out what had happened so far. In fact, sometimes it was a bit repetitive sharing previous events or feelings of the characters, so I was never in the dark about the past.
Even with the previous details, the story jumped right into action. The story follows Sadie, a woman scorned after having her family stolen from her by Luna. Sadie is determined to save her family from her rival, but a tragic “accident” leaves her in a coma.
Multiple POVs are used to share the minds of the main characters. I enjoy reading books done this way, as it makes for a more well-rounded story. And this one was quick read and easy to follow, but there are some scenes that are a bit far fetched/outside the realm of possibility.
Overall, a fast, solid read and I give it 3.5 stars!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of The Happy Family (The Hunt Family #3) by Daniel Hurst in exchange for an honest review.
By book three of the Hunt Family series, it’s pretty clear that “happy” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in these titles. After the events of I Stole Your Family and The Hunt Family, the chaos surrounding this family continues. This installment centers on whether Sadie and Gemma can finally win against Luna, and watching that play out keeps the tension moving. Daniel Hurst keeps the pacing quick with short, bingeable chapters, and it’s satisfying to see the long chain of lies and manipulation start to come full circle after everything that’s happened in the first two books.
One small ARC note: there are a few UK-based vocabulary choices like 'drink driver' that can throw of a US reader, along with a couple spots that could use a light edit. Nothing major, just noticeable. Overall, another fast and entertaining entry in the Hunt family saga. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Happy Family is a fast-paced, drama-filled thriller that completely pulled me in from the start.
Daniel Hurst does such a great job creating tension and keeping the story moving. The short chapters and constant reveals made this incredibly bingeable—I kept telling myself “just one more chapter” and ended up flying through it.
What really stood out was the way the story peels back the layers of this seemingly perfect family. As secrets start to unravel, the drama ramps up quickly, and there are plenty of twists to keep things interesting. Some I saw coming, but others definitely caught me off guard. The characters aren’t always likable, but that honestly added to the story for me. Everyone has something to hide, and it made the dynamics feel messy and real in the best way.
My only small drawback is that a few moments felt a little over-the-top or rushed, especially toward the end. I would’ve loved just a bit more depth in certain parts. Overall, this was a super entertaining, twisty read that’s perfect if you’re in the mood for a quick, addictive thriller.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of The Happy Family - Book 3 by Daniel Hurst. Publication date: April 20, 2026
This is book three from "The Hunt Family" trilogy.
The book is fast, twisty, and completely unputdownable—this finale had me hooked from page one.
Told from multiple POVs keep the tension high.
Especially with Sadie waking from a coma, wanting her family back and ready for revenge…and then there was Luna who would do everything to stop her from remembering and taking back the family she now has.
Daniel Hurst really knows how to create characters you love to hate and drag you through the chaos with them.
Was the ending my favorite? No! Did I still love it? Yes! Was this a wild, binge-worthy finish to a great trilogy?Absolutely!
Again, thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this advanced reading copy of "The Happy Family" in exchange for my honest review and thank you Daniel Hurst for continuing to put out such amazing books.
Thank you Netgalley for this arc. Went and requested it as soon as I finished the second book.
I was happy with the ending of the second book so wanted to see how it goes in the third book. But god the amount of emotions and frustrations I went through in this book.😭😭
Every time she kills someone I’m just like how does she even? She was very impulsive in this book. “Desperate people do desperate stuff” makes sense in this book.
Gemma deserved better and Reid how dumb can he even be? Even after Jack gives him somewhat clues he still chooses to turn a blind eye. But I get it yea “Love is blind” Sadie was so smart in this book. Didn’t let her emotions take hold of her like the last one.
And I’m lowkey disappointed how things ended with Luna.
This book made me realise not everyone is as how you see them. There’s something sinister lurking inside some people. And now I will definitely be overthinking every delivery person I meet 😂😭🙏
Note to self: If a family looks this happy on Instagram, they are definitely hiding a body. Or five.
I absolutely flew through The Happy Family. It’s that perfect kind of domestic noir where you just know something is rotting under the floorboards, and you have to keep turning pages to find out what it is. It’s messy, it’s dramatic, and the characters are the kind of people you love to hate. It’s not necessarily a "deep" literary read, but it is 100% addictive and exactly what I needed this weekend.
I thought I had the "big twist" pinned down, but Hurst managed to pull the rug out from under me anyway. If you want a thriller that moves fast and makes you suspicious of your own neighbors, this is it.
📚I was able to read an advanced copy of title thanks to NetGalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookouture📚 📚All reviews and opinions are entirely my own📚
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy of this book. Daniel Hurst absolutely stuck the landing with this one! The Happy Family started off by seamlessly catching me up on the previous drama without that typical "info-dump" feel. By jumping between the perspectives of Sadie, Luna, Reid, and Gemma, the momentum stayed high and the short chapters made it nearly impossible to put down. I loved seeing the new extremes Luna went to in order to hold onto her "happy family," but Sadie was the standout—a fierce, relentless force. Her complete turnaround from the broken person she was in ‘I Stole Your Family’ was so fun to see. After everything these characters had been through during the series, the ending felt exactly right. #TheHappyFamily #NetGalley
Wow! This is a fast paced finale to this crazy ride of a trilogy!
As Luna becomes more and more unhinged, yet possesses an uncanny ability to appear perfectly calm, Sadie has worked it all out, with Gemma's help. These three MFCs are fabulous characters and even though reality was left behind somewhere in the second half of book one, I found myself addicted to knowing what would happen next in this psychological game of cat and mouse, and couldn't stop reading as the power gently shifted away from Luna's grasp.
If you love drama in abundance, this is for you, but catch up with the first to books before you treat yourself to this one. And the ending? Pure Karma.
5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookouture, for an ARC of this book.
Sadie is laying in the hospital still in a coma after going to the house to confront Luna. Nine long months Reid and the kids have been by her side hoping that she wakes up; Luna is holding onto hope that she will never wake up. One night while Luna is at the hospital she decides to not take the chance of Sadie waking up to possibly remember everything but when she goes to finish the job she looks down and sees Sadie's eyes wide open. Sadie tells the doctors she does not remember anything that happened leading up to her slipping and banging her head; but can Luna trust that? They go on to live their lives "peacefully" but who is going to be the one to win the happy family?
Thank you Netgalley, the publisher and author for the ARC! I absolutely loved this series!
Thank you too Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC. This is the final instalment to The Hunt family saga and this has been a great little series too read. It was great to see a resolution come up and Sadie to finally get the upper hand however I do wish there was more justice and reactions to the truth coming out about Luna's unhinged actions. I feel like last 15% or so was quite anticlimactic. I also cannot stand Reid at all and I found him to be one of the most annoying characters out of a lot of books I've read before. I personally feel like Luna was not punished enough and the ending was quite abrupt. Overall, this is a good series to read if you enjoy unhinged female characters and revenge arcs.4****
🌪️ F I A S C O F R I D A Y review 🌪️ featuring “The Happy Family” by Daniel Hurst!
The Hunt family is back again with book 3 in the series! This time Luna is more calculated and delusional than ever before!
Luna now has it all: the handsome boyfriend Reid and his two kids, a brand new baby and a new house for their fresh start as a family. However, Reid’s ex-wife Sadie is still in the picture and Luna isn’t happy. Sadie has to go and Luna is more determined than ever to eliminate her from the equation … for GOOD!
However, Sadie isn’t blind to how evil Luna is and she is also determined to get everything back that Luna stole from her. BRING IT ON!
💭 I am loving this series so much and how deliciously dark, chaotic and over the top it is! The messy drama goes from zero to 1000 in the blink of an eye and is a train wreck that you cannot stop watching! The multiple POVs tell the story fuelled by revenge, vindication and shameless behaviours! Luna takes the term home wrecker to a whole new level!
Thank you kindly to @danielhurstbooks @bookouture @netgalley for my advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review. This book releases on April 20, 2026!
The Happy family is book 3 in The Hunt family series and wow this had me at the edge of my seat all the way through. Luna is now happy; she has got the family she always wanted and living the perfect life. Whilst Sadie is still living with her parents and missing Arthur and Ruby every day. She I not happy and she I not going to take her predicament lying down she wants revenge and she will do anything to get it. But when she arrives at her old family home. Things go badly wrong. Ow I loved this. It as the best book out of the three. This was so addictive to read and so over the top, but I loved it never the le. Mr Hurst never disappoints but he has raised the bar with this one. This is a fantastic read. 5 stars
The Happy Family is the 3rd and final book of the Hunt Family series.. I do recommend reading the first two books before reading this book. All three are really good.
Daniel Hurst knows how to keep your attention. The Happy Family will have you eagerly turning the pages to see what happens next. This is the final book of the series with a perfect ending. So glad Lunatic Luna ....well I can't give it away. So you will have to read it. Grab the entire trilogy. You won't be disappointed.. Expected release date April 20 2026.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for my honest review..
This edge of your seat, bingeworthy, thrill ride was the perfect conclusion to the Family trilogy! I was extremely happy to finally learn how the story played out, and it was bittersweet to say the least. This clever, no-holds-barred ending to the series was definitely my favorite of the three books. The suspense and anticipation were so gripping that I was flying through the pages like Superman. I can't wait to see what Hurst comes up with next. I highly recommend this book and the series. I think readers are going to love them.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review!
was soooo excited to read The Happy Family by Daniel Hurst because I absolutely loved the first two books in the series. Like devoured them. I went into this one with high expectations and couldn’t wait to see where everything would go. It definitely kept me turning the pages and I was invested the whole time, but the ending just wasn’t my favorite. I was really hoping it would take a different direction, and when it didn’t, I felt a little let down. I just wish it wrapped up in a way that felt a little more satisfying for me. Still a solid read and I’ll always be sat for this author, but this one didn’t hit me the same way the others did. ⭐⭐⭐
