Elemental was a lot better than the first book. It's still predictable AF but also still enjoyable.
Okay, so the MC Kara died in the first book. Probably forgot to mention that in the review.. but hey, I can't be perfect nor do I want to spoil every book to everyone! Well, in this book she finds herself in Heaven. Her job is to save souls from the demons who try to destroy them. She also learns about her life back when she was alive and how these demons were after her as well.
Unfortunately for me, David's love is still around. Yes, they still have that gross ass romance that I don't care for. Of course there's a huge twist, okay a couple, but their love is forbidden now. This usually intrigues me but since I still hate David's guts I just don't care,
However, the whole demons taking over Kara's moms soul was interesting enough. I was wondering how she was going to help/save her mom. Overall, the book was pretty interesting and still a lot better than the first book (in my eyes). I still don't care about the romance aspect.. I'm just constantly waiting and praying that she ends up with someone other than David. I enjoyed Kara's new mission in this book and thought the angels were interesting and intriguing enough. I can't wait to write the review for the next book!
Ok WHAT JUST HAPPENED!? I mean like ok (taking a deep breath) so we found that kara is an elemental so mortal dad angle mother but her power never worked under her command only when she is in a battle of in a situation were she is threatened or someone she cares about gets threatened. Then archangel whatever (forget his name) what to train her to control her abilities since she is the only one who can hurt the demons but then two angels have been saying when she is trying to train how worthless she is and that she is a demon spy then when they really start being mean David her friend comes in and says back off and they get into a fight Kara tries to stop them but they won’t and then she sees a death blade and she know what he wants to do with it he wants to kill david! So then this sudden rush of energy comes and then instead of hitting the target she it one of those jerks and he nearly dies she is brought to the council and they say that the punishment will be for her to spend time in tartuars the jail for angels and that is reallyyyyy bad and then they tell her that she half angel AND HALF DEMON! And the rest is unesesery but good book overall even if it has soooo much information in a 200 page book.

After reading and enjoying Marked, the first book in the Soul Guardians series, I naturally had to pick up Elemental. The story continues where Marked left off: Kara has died in an unexpected accident and has found herself in Heaven where she joins the huge legions of angels that are soul savers. Her job is to save souls from the demons who try to destroy them. What Kara didn't know in the first book is that she was marked and that the demons where after her in the first place. After proving that she isn't a traitor, Kara with the help of her mentor, David, got to keep her role as a soul saver. But luck is no longer on her side when she accidentally strikes a guardian angel and almost kills him. Hurting a fellow angel is an unforgivable mistake, so Kara is banished from Heaven and incarcerated in Tartarus. There, she's not only faced with the difficult decision of giving up her love for David because romance between angels is forbidden, she also finds out that the demons she's been fighting have taken her mortal mother's soul. Kara knows she'll never be able to forgive herself if she doesn't save her mother's soul. But with everyone hunting her down, this might just prove an impossible task.
I thought Marked was a new and never been done before take on young adult paranormal romance, but Elemental was just phenomenal. What I liked best was the author's ability to convey emotion and create an intricate and believable world. The tension kept me on the edge of my seat, turning page after page to find out whether Kara's mission would succeed and whether she would really sacrifice the love of her life for a greater good. If you're looking for a well written paranormal book with great characters, mystery and suspense that is new and different, this series is exactly what you're looking for. I hope there's going to be more.
Love this series! The continuation of Kara and David’s story is getting so intense!! And also so frustrating because of all the obstacles in their way. Can’t wait to see how Kara gets out of the debacle she has found herself in at the end of this book.
I read and adored, MARKED. I couldn't wait for the sequel. ELEMENTAL - doesn't disappoint. I LOVED this book. It was beautifully written, with plot twists and turns, and the perfect amount of romance. I recommend this book to anyone who is tired of the same old paranormal/fantasy book. This book has it all.
This must be the most original series I have read in a long time. ELEMENTAL is even better than the first book. Kara dies again at the beginning--and the action takes off. The story follows her as she tries to find her mother's soul, taken by Demons. At the same time, Kara is hunted by the Legion, and ventures into the demon realm--Netherworld. She is faced with even more challenges and discovers the real truth about who she is. This book is so amazing, I couldn't put it down. The writing is so captivating and every page left me clinging for more. The suspense just kept me going. The book ends on a cliffhanger, and I'm dying to find out what happens to Kara in the last installment of this series. Can't wait to read more. Great book!
I really enjoyed the book. I couldn't give 5 stars because of the many errore on the book. A few may have been sloppy spell-checking. However, awkward sentence structure and punctuation were also issues. Every sentence shouldn't end with a question mark. With the author's background, I was very surprised at the punctuation errors.
Amazing! Another great installment in the Soul Guardians series. I loved this book. It was better than the first. It drew me right into the world of guardian Angels and Demons, and into the lives of the characters (Kara and David). This book is a definite page turner. I would recommend this book (and series) to anyone who enjoys reading Fantasy/Paranormal novels that include elements of the supernatural. Elemental leaves you wanting more! I can't wait for the next book in this fabulous series.
3.75 Beetje 'makkelijk' boek.
Even though Kara had been given a second chance to live as a mortal, she felt something was missing in her life. I thought she would have a longer ordinary life, finishing her school, fall in love and married etc. before they call for her service as a guardian angel. However, it wasn't long before she died again for the second time.
Back in the horizon, Kara was promoted to the special task force, leaving David behind doing his petty officer job. In the new team, Kara befriended with Jenny and Peter, after she saved their lives. However, it wasn't long before she made a mistake and nearly killed a GA. She was then sent to Tartarus jail to wait for the trial. But, David and her new friends broke her out.
The revelation about Kara's father was exciting news because I didn't expect that. However, the plots concerning David was ridiculously unbelievable. He seemed always to find himself with Kara no matter how high the security level and managed to outsmart the archangels.
When I finished reading the second book, I still couldn't connect with Kara, and there're six more books to read. My only hope was to be able to enjoy the story because I started to feel like putting this book as DNF, which is the first time in history since I started reading series about five years ago!
Fast paced to the point the story felt rushed. The angels are shallow and annoying in their constant bickering. I already knew about the talking dog and the monkeys but that cockroach was gross. I didn’t like how the story jumped from place to place within pages or how everything goes wrong the moment Kara decides to play hero.
This series is one surprise after another! One more thing to reveal and it is a whopper! That zadekiel is some kind of nasty...he's that kind of character you love to hate. I cant wait to see what kind of crazy stuff happens next! Kara's powers seem to keep unlocking bit by bit. Good stuff to come I imagine!
Got to juvenile for me. Still an interesting angel/demon but almost seemed like it was trying to go more Harry Potter than it really should have. Probably won't finish the series now.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
