Spirits & Shards: Firebrand - Episode One

Rate this book
Kol Solborn is lost and directionless. In an effort to bring his late friend’s killer to justice he has begun blindly following his father Lorenzo, the notorious leader of the Free Radicals, a non-conformist group accused of several acts of terrorism over the past two decades. But Kol is beginning to realise that his father has other priorities, necessitating the finding of his own way if he wishes to keep his posthumous promise.

Sergeant Haikyo Tinjima is growing increasingly concerned regarding the treatment of the police force by Terrengus Corp in the wake of a series of mysterious attacks taking place throughout Darina City. It seems the more that happens, the less he’s allowed to pry, and the recalcitrance of the commissioner only exacerbates his suspicions that the rumours suggesting they are on the brink of being supplanted by something altogether more sinister may be all too true.

Keresay Kosoruka is a corporate nobody, and though she is perfectly happy in that regard, her simple home life leaves her feeling somewhat unfulfilled. Though she was looking for some excitement and perhaps even a little adventure when she began looking online for a potential partner, she didn’t bet on meeting someone so intrinsically interwoven into the fabric of the unfolding chaos that she would end up caught right in the middle.

One way or another, things are about to change forever in Darina City…

A J Hawkins - Uniquely Provocative

Adrian (Ade) Hawkins lives in Norwich, England, with his loving, ever-patient partner and two beastilicious moggies.

He discovered a talent for storytelling in high school, despite not getting an English GCSE. He realised he had a yearning to write while drawing cartoon robots in art class, spending most of his time pondering the story behind them.

After getting stuck on a story idea for several years, he wrote a trilogy of screenplays called “Dark Nemesis.” They were mostly bad but punctuated by surprisingly good bits. He then spent 12 years being overwhelmed by his own ambition and spent far too long faffing about with conceptual ideas before finally coming up with an idea for a novella that then became a novel.

His favourite authors include Douglas Adams, JRR Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, Ian Fleming and Rob Grant and Doug Naylor. He should also watch less movies and read more books.
