Decent book with several pretty projects. Tighter editing would have caught many spelling errors and wrong page number directions. I think the labels for the step-by step directions would have been less confusing if the photos were lettered instead of numbered. I am a beginning jewelry student and my teachers have all shooed me away from using a butane torch - "not hot enough" - so I was surprised that so much could be done with one. That said, there were several basic techniques that were absent that I think would be really useful to a beginner, such as using a jeweler's saw, sandpaper, or emery boards. Plentiful and clear photos.

Everything you always wanted to know about fusing silver wire to make rings and chains. I've always wanted to try this media but didn't have enough experience with torches to dare it. I got this book from the library and may go ahead and buy it. The projects start very simply and walk you through step by step with very clear pictures. Well written. Well presented.
