The Null

Rate this book
He had left that life behind, sworn he would never return to it. He had a new life—a wife, a daughter. He was happy. But in a wretched twist of events, he finds himself forced to reclaim what he once was in order to save those who are most precious to him. Or else…

The Null is a short superhero thriller that would cover approximately 20-25 pages in a traditional paperback. It originally appeared in The Telepath Chronicles, an excellent collection of similar length stories by various authors.

Trigili offers us a world nearly under the thumb of the government except for a handful of specially breed and trained individuals.

The concept is interesting, and I'm curious enough to read more of the author's works.

Nothingness

Short story about a family man whose family is kidapped by the state and held as ransom. Family to be returned when he kills another man who has similar powers. Science fiction.

Not available kindle unlimited, although lower price and some in sets as well, plus in collections with other writers. Full list on amazon author page. Listed genre is superhero thriller, didn't know that was a sub genre, but interesting and that's all that matters to me.

It has potential, but I feel like I was missing too much by not having read the main story. Not sure if this was meant to be a standalone, but this could have been fleshed out into a much longer tale.

I read this story in the anthology Helm 2. This story really stuck out as remarkable to me. I was engaged with the main character right off the bat, and would love to read more about him, his life, his family, his 'birth', life of crime, and his life after crime.

I would have enjoyed it more if there were more to it. Calling this a short story is almost generous. Taking credit for this as one of the books in my 2016 Goodreads reading challenge seems like cheating. I'll acknowledge that this could be a much better story if it were fleshed out more.

Very creative

I enjoyed this story and the originality of it. My only criticism would be that the author tried to fit too much into a short story. It felt very rushed.
