I went in thinking this was going to be a fun and fluffy read. I was surprised when real life issues and insecurities were revealed. Between health issues of the body, and mental health issues that had to be navigated made this a well rounded book.

I. Almost. Cried. This doesn’t happen to me a lot y’all. They weren’t sad tears, but happy tears. Again this doesn’t happen to me a lot in books.

Although it slowly unfolds as an 'instalove', I must admit that I didn't mind it at all!

Jasper Lincoln is a 32-year-old who looks like the classic tough guy with a penchant for trouble. Unfortunately, under all those tattoos, he's actually a softie who's afraid of failure and of not being appreciated by women.
It is during a session at the gym that he finally talks to Violet Walker, who is ten years younger than him and more messed up than ever in her work and private life.

But if I'm more of a #slowburn person, why did I find the interaction between the protagonists cute?
The answer is simple: the issues addressed.

They couldn't be more different in terms of life experiences and character, yet it is these peculiarities that bring them closer together.
Jasper learns to socialise more and come out of his nerdy shell, while Violet learns to face life without fear of being a huge burden after a past spent in a house full of horror with her younger sister due to her unstable parents.

An important read, combining light-heartedness with an awareness of our own flaws: it is these combinations that make us unique!

This was the first book I’ve read Tanja and it was super cute.

I loved that Violet was such a strong and dominating personality. She’s healing from past traumas but she’s so open with Jasper. She practically raised her sister as soon as she turned 18 and never had anyone take care of her.

Working at the gym, she has her sights set on Jasper and asks him out. From there, we watch a beautiful relationship blossom. He’s a diabetic and has never had a girlfriend but they seriously have the cutest relationship. Some of her pet names for him were kind of cringe but they were cute together and I loved how respectful he was of her and her sister.

He became her safe space and her, his. Not to mention his dog was the sweetest! The found family aspect in the story made me want to cry happy tears - it really will make your heart happy and was easy to read! Could definitely be finished in one sitting if adulting wasn’t a thing and ends happily! Thank you @happilybookedpr and @tanjalongoria for the early read..all opinions are my own.

Let me start by saying this is one of six in the series of the naughty desserts. If you have not read them I really suggest you read them all cuz once I figured out there was more I sure did. I will advise you to there are some strong subjects that may get to you so make sure you read your trigger warnings kind of have a heads up. I started this book thinking it was just going to be this cute little romance but boy was I wrong. This book is about Violet and Jasper. Now Violet is your strong, independent, dominant, curvy, amazing hard working woman. Where is Jasper is your sweet, Shy, he's pretty much a big tattooed care bear with the biggest heart. In this book Violet goes through a lot of hard things she doesn't have a good family and she wound up having to raise her 14-year-old sister at 18. They grow up together essentially and she provides the best life possible for her sister. Violet then crosses pass with Jasper and becomes head over heels for him. She notices he is shy so on Valentine's Day she asked him if he has a date he says no she asked him out and they have a game night at his house to make him more comfortable. That's when things take off so amazingly. She finds out that Jasper has type 1 diabetes and she does everything to make sure that she learns how to properly care for him. Then there's little Lila who is an absolute sweetheart I think that was the topping on the cake she was just the sweetest thing in the book. I love how their relationship blooms naturally and violet pulls Jasper out of his shell and becomes his first of many things. I love how Jasper's family takes in Violet and violet sister malina as if they were family from the get-go. They do see the scars on violets arms and don't make a big deal out of it they just love her and support her always. I love that through all of this Jasper is very supportive and very attentive to Violet and her needs when it comes to school and work and sleeping it's just the sweetest love story ever. I love that through everything they work together and they create the most wonderful relationship. I really like how when Malina graduated Jasper's parents Kat and Jesus was just great. Overall this book really was amazing it blew my mind it was way better than what I thought. I felt like it had just the right amount of spice, just the right amount of love, and just everything fit perfectly together. You know it's going to be a great book when you cry through it you laugh through it and so many other emotions hit you.
Quotes that made me cry:
💙"You'd better be here to stay, because I'm not letting you go, sir." He chuckled the lip ring back between his teeth, "My first, my last, and my only."
💜"I just think that your scars show how strong you are, a survivor. They're just like the bruises on my stomach. They show that we are on a constant mission to be our best selves." - Jasper
💚"Personally, I think they're gorgeous. They make you, you. They are a reminder of how lucky I am to have you by my side. You're here because you felt and made it through those dark times." - Jasper
❤️"Calling you mine and being called yours has become the breath of my existence, and the meaning of my life. You are my home, My shelter, my everything, and I wish for the whole world to know that."

Apple Strudel by Tanja Longoria is book six of the Naughty Desserts series, all of which can be read as standalones. It was a beautifully touching, fast-paced, searingly h0t romance book that was surprisingly deep for how short it was. Tropes include age gap, soft dom FMC, submissive but strong MMC, instalove, mental health rep and chronic illness rep.

Jasper Lincoln (32) is an introverted, tattooed, gamer teddy bear. He comes from the sweetest family and grew up with love and stability. Violet Walker (22) is a feisty, headstrong FMC who is trying her best to recover from an awful childhood while raising her younger sister. These two couldn't be more different with their family dynamics and quirky personalities, yet they worked so well together. Their relationship growth felt authentic, even though it happened on a really condensed timeline. The MCs ability to support each other while wading through their own vulnerabilities was magnificent.

The themes of found family and healing from trauma were heartfelt and made me want to cry a few times. I adored the mental health and diabetes/chronic illness representation. It helped make the story feel even more relatable. I love that Violet didn't hide her scars and Jasper's family never made her feel awkward about them.

Overall Apple Strudel by Tanja Longoria was a fun, steamy read that featured MCs with marvelous chemistry, strong personalities, and great banter. This story is perfect for readers who want the thrill of an instant and simmering h0t attraction between two unique and engaging MCs. A huge thank you to @happilybookedpr and @tanjalongoria for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

*I will preface this in saying that I was very kindly given the opportunity to read this book as an ARC, however, this review is completely my own thoughts and feelings :)

🌶

Okay, so this wasn't the worst, but it wasn't my favourite either. The storyline itself was fine, but I did have some things i didn't like.

First off, I thought that the interaction between Violet and Jasper when she asked him out seemed a bit weird... like he openly admitted to having never fully acknowledged her before, and she never really openly talked to him other than simple pleasantries before, and then she randomly asks him out and he as a shy and awkward man says yes??? It just didn't seem like a legitimate circumstance.

Then the fact that she was 22 and he was 32 definitely gave me the ick because I'm not a fan of characters who are that young. Then you top it off with her being so young and then also being his soft dom... made it even more uncomfortable for my tastes. Like if she was at least in her mid-late 20s then it would've been less gross to me.

Now onto the timeline. They go on their first date with each other for Valentine's Day (February 14th), then they are dating for at least a month in which they say weird things like how they'll always be each others and she meets his whole family in addition to her sister meeting his whole family a separate time, which seems very fast for a relationship that just started. And that's not even touching on his entire family saying he needs to marry this woman he's only known a month. But then like a few weeks after that it is maximum late April, and they are attending her sister's high school graduation??? I have never once heard of a high school graduation that is anything earlier than the very end of June. It was all just very strange time wise.

All but like maybe 2 of the steamy scenes were in Jasper's pov which is fine, but i wish we saw Violet's perspective on it more than what we got considering that most of the time the steamy scenes carried between chapters from one to the next.

Lastly, this is probably just a me thing, but the random chapter of her sister's pov was irrelevant... like the exact same situation could've been had from Violet's pov and then it would have been applicable.

Over all the book was just fine. I wasn't wowed by it but I didn't hate it. I read two other books in this series, one of which I hated and the other I really loved... so I find that there may be some hits and misses here as a whole.

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

In this book, you’ll meet Violet and Jasper. Violet is bold, confident, and unapologetic about going after what she wants. She knows exactly what she likes, especially in the bedroom and isn’t afraid to communicate that to her partners. Jasper, on the other hand, is a shy, tattooed gamer with very little experience when it comes to relationships. He’s kind-hearted and the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. This story offers excellent representation, including mental health awareness and Type 1 diabetes. Readers can expect tropes such as age gap, meet-cute, strangers to lovers, video gaming culture, and female dom.

I really enjoy Tanja Longoria’s writing style. She has a wonderful way of blending sweetness with a generous amount of spice, creating stories that feel both heartfelt and engaging. The plot was well executed, the pacing felt steady, and the characters were realistic and easy to connect with. Their emotional growth felt raw and genuine, especially through honest conversations and moments of vulnerability. I loved seeing a female dom paired with a submissive yet strong male lead; their dynamic never felt forced or inauthentic. It was clear that this relationship and power balance were written with care and intention.

The banter between Violet and Jasper was fun and natural, and the inclusion of side characters added even more depth to the story. Watching Violet open up about her past and confront her fears was incredibly rewarding. Her journey from someone climbing out of her darkest moments to a woman who knows exactly what she wants in life and goes after it, not just for herself but for her baby sister was inspiring. Jasper’s storyline was equally compelling. As a Type 1 diabetic, his fear of not being accepted for his true self was portrayed thoughtfully. Seeing him slowly come out of his shell and share his fears and dreams with Violet was genuinely touching.

Although the relationship develops quickly and includes an instalove element, something I often struggle with in other books Longoria makes it feel authentic rather than rushed. Violet’s desire to learn everything she could to support Jasper and help him manage his diabetes was especially sweet and showed how deeply she cared for him.

This book delivers strong characters, incredible chemistry, excellent communication, witty banter, and plenty of steamy moments. It’s another great addition to the Naughty Desserts series, and if you haven’t started it yet, I highly recommend giving it a try.

I want to thank Tanja Longoria for the opportunity to review this book and hopefully many more to come too.

I have loved all of Tanja's Naughty Desserts series. I love how Tanja's characters fall in insta-attraction rather than instalove.

As with all books in this series, she does a great job illustrating healthy relationships & communication. This is not just between the main characters but their friends & family as well. It is so nice to read dialogue that may be sarcastic or teasing but never cruel or unkind.

Tanja does a superb job tackling issues surrounding body image or medical conditions. In this case the MMC is an insulin dependent diabetic. She demonstrates some of the challenges people with a chronic medical condition face as well as questions people may have when meeting someone with specific health issues ie: how to support them with regards to maintaining their health and how to assist if there is an urgent situation. She illustrates how to ask about those experiences & their needs without sounding condescending.

From the start of their relationship, Jasper & Violet support each other while accepting their own and each other's vulnerabilities & insecurities. Apple Strudel is a fun, no angst journey of two people falling in love. I have a low tolerance for angst so I love having an author that provides wonderful book boyfriends which don't make me anxious.

Tanja also includes sexual elements which clearly demonstrate (what some may call) kinks in a healthy, open nature. This is a very, very steamy read so if you do not enjoy open door intimacy then pass this book by.

I really hope Tanja continues this series, I have loved every book. It would also be fun to read stories of some of the supporting characters (Oliver, Benjamin & Liam in this case) finding their forever love.

I received an ARC for free and this is my honest opinion.

This book said Hallmark vibes and then quietly slid a blindfold across the table.

We have:
🍎 virgin, diabetic, tattooed teddy bear MMC
🍎 curvy, bold, “I saw him and decided he was mine” FMC
🍎 found family
🍎 mental health rep
🍎 light BDSM with a submissive man
🍎 open-door but make it cozy

And listen. I LOVED their dynamic. Violet choosing Jasper? Elite behavior. A confident, slightly chaotic 22-year-old walking up to a 32-year-old shy gamer virgin and saying “yes, you” is the kind of feral feminine energy I respect.

Jasper is peak soft-boy supremacy. Nerdy. Inexperienced. Fully obsessed. The man just wanted to game, manage his blood sugar, and be left alone — and instead he got adopted by a dominant sunshine woman and her trauma. Iconic.

Now… was I occasionally aware she was 22? Yes.
Did some of the sweet pet names feel like they were trying a little too hard? Also yes.
Did I choose to simply not think too deeply about it so I could enjoy the vibes? Absolutely.

Because when you don’t overanalyze, this book is warm, fast-paced, heartfelt, and just slightly spicy in a way that feels safe and indulgent. It’s soft kink with cinnamon energy. It’s “I will ruin you gently.” It’s Hallmark, but someone brought handcuffs.

Not life-altering. Not perfect. But undeniably adorable and emotionally satisfying.

If you like:
✨ submissive MMCs
✨ dominant FMCs
✨ trauma healing + found family
✨ virgin hero energy
✨ sweet but SPICY

…you’ll eat this up like actual strudel.

Shoot, now I’m hungry.

And honestly? I’d read more of these two. Just maybe age her up one year so my brain can rest.

"You have asked me to trust you, so I ask you to trust me now. Your scars are nothing to be ashamed of and you have no reason to hide your beautiful and strong body. This house is a safe haven for you, along with every single person in it."

WOW. I've been reading this series since the very first book and this - this is what I've been waiting for!! Perfect plot, interesting characters and a fab representation of diabetes/mental health.
I enjoyed the idea that Jasper was the quiet shy one and Violet was the confident one - we don't see enough representation of strong willed, confident women yet so this was a breath of fresh air. Also thoroughly enjoyed seeing their interactions with each others family members and how Jasper's family took both Violet and her sister into their fold with no judgment or questions (I cried when Jesus asked Violet to dance as he dances with all his daughters). The gaming community representation was nice to see too and how Violet never made him feel like he had to choose between gaming and her and how Jasper always made sure she was loved and well cared for despite gaming with his friends - lovely to see a healthy relationship!

Favourite character: Jasper - shy, sweet, thoughtful and just an all round good guy. Also helps that he has a dog.

Thanks so much Tanja for letting me immerse myself in your stories, especially this one, Violet & Jasper have my heart <3

p.s also thank you for letting us choose with the NSFW artwork - no surprises on the bus this time haha!

I was given a copy of this book by the author. All opinions are my own.

Jasper was just a shy guy that loved his quiet routine, gaming, and going to the gym. He was loved by his family, but loved having his space. After been single all his life, and just taking care of lila and his diabetes, his life took an unexpected turn when the beautiful bubbly Gym employee ask him out for a date.

On the other hand, Violet knew he was hers the moment she landed her eyes on him. Finding the opportunity, she grab her chance, changed in a moment his life and her life forever.

This was the cuter read ever. Even though it is a predictable read, you just love the characters from the beginning. I can tell how much love the author put into developing this characters. Their thought process, their life experiences, their emotions, and their actions are all so detailed and special that I just couldn't stop reading. I loved the mental health approach, and how the healing process was part of the plot. The plot was simple but cute, their relationship, the family involvement, the flaws and the love, and the exploration of new experiences, and again the healing process was just everything so well thought and balanced. It is the perfect palate cleanser for those like me that read a lot of dark romance or emotional damaging books. I have already started recommending the book to friends, and will remain on my recommended books.

In this short book, we meet Violet who is 22 years old and in college for her associates degree. She didn’t have the greatest upbringing and at the age of 18, she took her younger sister in and made sacrifices to make sure her sister had what she needed. Then there’s Jasper, he’s 32 years old, built with tattoos, kind of nerdy – he loves Dungeon and Dragons – extremely shy, and a virgin. Violet asks Jasper out, and their romance is not like anything either have ever had.

I’m going to start with this, the cover is cute and the book is sorta sweet, but there is a small discussion of Violet’s past with self harm and alcoholic parents. It is not an in-depth discussion by any means. I think this was a missed opportunity to really go deep here and explore.

Violet was a really cute character. She was confident, funny, sassy, and loved being dominant. I enjoyed reading her character. While only 22, she read older than she was. Jasper on the other hand, I had a really hard time picturing him. He’s described as 32 years old, and I get he was inexperienced, but the word choices, how he spoke, it just read much younger. Because of that, I really struggled with his believability. There are some spicy scenes in this book. They started out okay, but then it got a little repetitive. Again, with Violet liking to be the dom, it could have gone further.

I will say, I did enjoy how accepting they were of each other, and how supportive Jasper was of Violet.

So all in all, just eh for me.

This book had me snagged from the first page. It had a really compelling story, and even better characters. Jasper is to be protected at all costs - he is a national treasure and I will not be convinced otherwise. He is the sweetest man, an absolute cinnamon roll, who goes out of his way for the people in his life. He’s beyond kind hearted and just precious. And damn sexy too. Great combo I didn’t know I was missing. Violet is a strong and assertive woman who will bend over backwards for her loved ones. She wants to be there and be present in all aspects of their lives. She never once tries to change or control (except in the bedroom but that’s consensual) anyone. The snark and banter between these two is amazing. But the connection and chemistry is where the awe comes from. It is so real and raw and genuine. It’s extremely realistic as well. Their dynamic and the way their relationship develops is intense but in such a caring and honest way. The representation in this book is also on point - mental health and diabetes awareness, yes please. This story is just so compelling and refreshing. Seeing Jasper come out of his shell and open up was so endearing I couldn’t help but swoon. And the way Violet wanted to care for him (but not infantilize him) was so heartfelt. There’s insane chemistry and even better spice in this book alongside a story you just have to know the ending to.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Apple Strudel by Tanja Longoria

I went into this expecting a sweet, fluffy read — and while it is adorable and quick, it surprised me with how much heart it packed. Jasper and Violet’s connection sparks fast, but the pacing never feels rushed. Their relationship unfolds with warmth and depth, and I loved watching them peel back each other’s layers.

Jasper is such a refreshing MMC — introverted, inexperienced, and beautifully vulnerable. His submissive nature paired with Violet’s bold, dominant energy made for a dynamic I genuinely enjoyed. She’s outgoing, assertive, and the one who pulls Jasper out of his shell with love and patience.

And then there’s Violet’s backstory — raw, emotional, and handled with care. Her struggles with mental health and a painful upbringing added weight to the romance, and Jasper’s support felt so genuine. I also really liked the added bonus family Violet gets with Jasper’s side — they welcome her and her sister with open arms, and it was such a sweet touch. We even get a little Malina POV, which I absolutely loved.

This book may look cute on the outside, but it’s got real emotional depth inside. I’m excited to continue the series and see where it goes next. Huge thanks to the author and BookSirens for the opportunity to read this ARC — I really, really enjoyed it.

This book is part of the Naughty Dessert Series, but can be read as a standalone.
We meet Violet and Jasper, two people who go together like apple strudel, warm, sweet and a little sinful. They may have a ten year age gap, but Violet has had a complicated upbringing that had her growing up fast. She works hard and made sure her sister had what she needs to thrive. And now it's time for Violet to have something for herself. Where Jasper has a big supportive family, friend group and routine to help balance his life and health. He has never really stepped out of that bubble.
I loved the comfort Violet found in Jasper. His warm bear hugs, his ability to make her feel safe and confident in her skin. They had a beautiful push and pull with their power balance. Violet never took advantage Jasper's willingness to please and Jasper was willing.
Side note, I do not miss shift work. Gah, always being g tired no matter how much you slept and napped.
Bloopers at the end was an adorable addition.

“If you lick something, it’s yours. It’s a universal rule.”

Apple Strudel
By Tanja Longoria
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Apple Strudel by Tanja Longoria is a refreshing and steamy entry in the Naughty Desserts series that brilliantly flips traditional romance tropes. The story follows Violet, a bold, take-charge woman, and Jasper, a shy, tattooed gamer who is surprisingly inexperienced in the world of dating. Their journey begins when Violet takes the initiative to ask Jasper out for Valentine’s Day, leading to a "strangers-to-lovers" dynamic that explores deep personal struggles—from Jasper’s life as a diabetic to Violet’s past family trauma. It is a beautiful exploration of confidence-building and mutual support, proving that true love often comes when you least expect it.
Longoria’s writing is exceptional, balancing "sweet and spicy" elements with a flow that feels effortless and engaging. She has a talent for creating vibrant, relatable characters whose emotional growth feels earned rather than rushed. The role-reversal between the dominant female lead and the submissive hero is handled with such care and nuance that it feels completely authentic and heartwarming. Between the witty dialogue among Jasper's friends and the intense chemistry between the leads, Longoria delivers a page-turning romance that is as funny as it is steamy.

10/10 Would recommend this book to all family and friends.

This is Violet and Jackson’s story. They meet at the gym where Jackson goes to work out in the evenings with his dog, Lila. Violet works the front desk of the gym overnight so that she can go to college to become a legal assistant. Violet is a strong female character who has been through a lot with her abusive parents as well as taking care of her sister who is graduating from high school. Victoria stuns Jackson when she asks if he is doing anything on Valentine’s Day and if he would be her date. From there, they begin dating and opening up to each other about their lives as the romance begins. Loved reading about these two falling in love. She has strong characters and usually one or both of the characters may have a disability. In this book, Jackson has type 1 diabetes which he educates Violet on how to help him. Violet had parents who were alcoholics and barely took care of her and her younger sister. This led to Violet to hang out with the wrong crowd and perform self harm and her wanting to be in charge. I loved how these issues were represented as well as each character’s growth throughout the story. Loved how accepting Jackson’s family was with both Violet and her sister.

。˚. 🍎I was kindly sent an ARC Copy 🍎。˚.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this book! Jasper and Violet were an utter joy to read and see where their relationship ended up and I’m so happy for them both! It’s my first read where diabetes is involved and I have to say I adored how it was written about and actually represented life with it and how it fits into everyday relationship scenarios. I really struggled to put the book down so I’d definitely recommend it to anyone!

Jaspers family were also wonderful to Violet and I really liked how with not only Jaspers help but his family it gave Violet a reminder of what a family should be like and gave her the safe space she always needed. Also Jaspers beautiful submission really took my breath away, I’m so used to reading about dominant men it was honestly such a pleasure to see it the other way round and boy does he do it so beautifully!

Overall, I really enjoyed this read, and will definitely be checking out other books by this author.

This book was a bit different than what I normally read. Violet is a take charge kind of girl. Jasper is extremely shy and a virgin. The flip dynamics of the characters threw me off a tad bit. I am so used to the men being the alphas and taking control that it was strange seeing it the other way.

This book is about building up confidence and learning what true love is. It is a wonderful romance that is full of sweet and romantic things. Jasper is a wonderful, sexy and handsome nerd who is definitely coming out of his shell with the help of Violet.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Besides the role reversal throwing me off, it was a wonderful story that was entertaining and fun to read. This is the first book by Tanja Longoria that I have read and I feel that I would be interested in reading more. The author has an excellent way with words and her story flowed effortlessly. I recommend this one to all you dominate individuals out there who love a good alpha female story.

This book was short, sweet and spicy. It was slightly kinky, had mental health representation and lots of found family. I really enjoyed how instant the connection was between Jasper and Violet. I also enjoyed how quickly Jasper‘s family welcomed Violet and her sister. One thing I really loved about this one was the MMC was a virgin which you don’t see depicted very often. There was no third act breakup or catastrophic health issue/accident that usually comes in romance stories. I really liked how Jasper was a nerd and how violet enjoyed that. I also really liked how violet looked up diabetes, and the games. Jasper played with his friends to get a better understanding of Jasper. In addition to Jasper being a virgin this book depicted Violet as being the dominant one in the bedroom, which also is not very common in books. There were several spicy scenes and they weren’t just intercourse scenes. The scenes were open door, but not over the top or too lengthy. This book could be read in one sitting probably two hours, but I broke it up into two readings.

This was so cute!

Jasper is just so a”dork”able. Violet is the bold to his shy. They balance each other perfectly. And Lila is a cutie too!

Violet had to grow up way too fast. She shoulders so much responsibility trying to give her sister a better chance at growing up than she did. She made mistakes, had some coping mechanisms that hurt her and doesn’t want her sister to have to go through that.

Jasper is shy, quiet, reserved and avoids people at any chance he gets. He prefers the company of Lila and his core group of gamer friends.

I love how these two just fit together like lost puzzle pieces. Jasper helps ground Violet and gives her a comfortable safe space to finally relax. Violet brings out a hidden side to Jasper. She accepts his gamer life and loves his enthusiasm for this games and groups. She takes his health seriously learned what she needed to do for him in an emergency right away.

I am going to read the others in this series as well. It was a great feel good palate cleanser for me.

Apple Strudel Review ⚖️🎮

I received an ARC for this book, but unfortunately, I couldn’t read it before these past few days, so I want to thank and apologize to Tanja Longoria and Happily for the late review.

This book was a surprise. Don’t let the cute cover fool you, because it was spicy, and I am here for it!

For the characters, we have Violet, who, even at such a young age, knows what she wants and goes after it. It just happens to be Jasper, the shy guy who goes to the gym where she works.

Jasper is a gamer, a nerdy man. He is a big guy but a soft one too, and so, so shy that it’s actually adorable. Violet isn’t afraid of saying what she wants or of showing that she cares about and supports Jasper.

And after he opens up a little bit, I loved how he took care of her, taking her out to dinner, proudly introducing her to his family, and showing that what she thinks is weakness, he sees as strength.

It was a really, really cute read that I truly enjoyed. I will give 4.5 ⭐️ to Jasper and Violet ⚖️🎮

I can't think of a thing I didn't enjoy about Apple Strudel by Tanja Longoria.

A gym meet cute, age gap, video game nerd culture, and a female pleasure domme? All the check marks in all the right boxes!

Jasper (a name I love) is so shy. His kind heart, and reassuring nature are a balm for Violet, who's had to be strong for her sister for so long. Violet, conversely, has struggled to control every situation to improve her lot in life. Jasper is all too happy, after a little coaxing, to give her the reigns.

I love these two. They integrated themselves into one another's loves in the ways I wanted in my relationship. Hubby games while I snoozed on the couch last night. What could be better than comfort in the little things.

Longoria has a talent for highlighting that the small things are really the most important.

Love it!

a perfect read

Omggggg I loved this book and these characters so much. Violet making the first move was so amazing and Jasper was so cute and flustered and I loved that about him. I really enjoyed the fact that they communicated so honestly and openly with each other throughout the entire course of the story. The spice was cuh-razy hot. Jasper is a very good boy and that’s all I’m gonna say about that. I thought the characters were very well fleshed out and each had their own personal struggles and lives to deal with but the fact that they were so supportive of each other was really beautiful. The side characters were great and I liked that Oliver, Liam, and Benjamin were very welcoming of Violet. Jasper’s family was just everything and I loved them so much. There were a couple tearjerker scenes in this but I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this book. Absolutely amazing.

This book is truly brilliant!! A combination of cute and contemporary with a perfect blend of spice!!

🥰❤️📖🍏💛🍏❤️📖🥰

The relationship between Violet and Jasper is absolutely amazing...while Jasper may seem like a tough guy on the outside, he's truly a big softie on the inside who tries to hide his insecurities and flaws...
...and Violet is the perfect match...a bold and strong woman who knows what she wants and takes charge to get it while also trying to hide her own secrets...

When the pair meet, attraction immediately sparks as both Jasper and Violet realize they need each other in so many ways...

This book is beautifully written in capturing the mental health side that so many struggle with...and it is absolutely spot on steamy, when the spice drops...it is incredible!!

Definitely ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ +!! Be sure to order and check out "Apple Strudel" by Tanja Longoria, available now!!

I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. The dynamic between the dominant female lead and the submissive male (who is also a virgin) is something you rarely see, and it felt incredibly refreshing. Their relationship is written with a lot of care, making it both engaging and emotionally convincing.

The writing style is light and easy to follow, which makes the book perfect for a quick, entertaining read. At the same time, it doesn’t shy away from exploring some more serious themes, and those moments add a surprising amount of depth. It’s a great blend of fun, humor, strong character chemistry, and thoughtful storytelling.

Highly recommended for readers looking for a unique character dynamic and a fast, enjoyable read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌶🌶🌶

Violet is outspoken with a lot of responsibility while Jasper is a reserved gamer. She asks him out for Valentines Day0 and she later learns he is a virgin while she enjoys being dominant. They ease into spending time until it blossoms into a love so pure and sweet.

I ABSOLUTELY loved both main characters! Violet was so patient with his lack of experience while Jasper was supportive and was willing to let her lead. All of Jaspers siblings and his parents were the so adorable in an overwhelming family way. The book was short and sweet (with plenty of heat)!

I loved the mental health representation with Violet and the disability representation with Jasper. Loved how his family welcomed both her and her sister with open arms. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet but hot quick read that will give you all the feels!

This was absolutely cute - sweet, cozy, and bringing some heat. Heavier topics are handled with care, so check the content warnings before diving in.

Jasper is an incredibly endearing MMC: shy, introverted, and quietly devoted, with vulnerability that feels genuine and well written. Violet is a strong, capable FMC, and I loved that her character arc focused on learning to slow down, accept help, and show herself the same grace she gives others.

Their relationship felt mutual and supportive, with a gentle, consensual power dynamic that added spice without overpowering the emotional connection. The found-family elements and focus on care and communication really elevated the story.

Thank you Tanja Longoria and Happily Booked PR for sharing this advanced readers copy.

MMC/FMC: Jasper and Violet

Tropes:
* Emotional healing
* Mental health rep
* Shy gamer MMC
* Age fap (OMYW)
* He’s the virgin
* Domme vs submissive
* Finding family

Safety:
Mentions of self-harm, abusive family, chronic health conditions, substance use/alcoholism

“I’ve caught myself a dream of a man.”

Jasper, Jasper, Jasper…. he’s about to ruin you for other golden retriever MMC’s. It’s not common to have the FMC being the more dominant/forward character, but in this one… it just works.

“Sweetcheeks. You look like a snack, and I’m ready to eat.”

I thought this was going to be cute, fluffy and sweet - that cover sure is deceptive….
I got the fluff, but there was also a very strong emotional story… between Violet’s upbringing and Jasper’s crippling shyness/anxiety, this was very much a story of mutual bonding, healing and empowerment.
