Super exciting addition to this series!

Dina is out walking when she realizes someone is tailing her. When she tries to talk to him, A shot is fired at them and the guy dies. Then the cops show up and one of them had been deployed with her in Afghanistan, Jarek. They got along ok, but never got close, as Dina always seemed aggravated with him. Jarek is sure that Dina is not telling him everything, but more shots are fired when he takes her home. So he knows something big is going on. But with them being targeted constantly, how can they figure out what is happening and why? Can they both stay alive long enough to find out? Read this and see!

The pace is breakneck and the tone is intense with an action and character oriented storyline that has no steam, only a few kisses. The characters are vibrant and engaging. The Christian ideals become woven into the story and help move it along. This is a great addition to the Grayson's Guardians series. This book totally stands on its own, but either way, you will want to read the other ones because this one is so good! If you like them, you would definitely like her other series starting in Milwaukee with SWAT Top Cops series, Callahan Confidential series, Finnegan First Responders series and Oath of Honor series. I would read those all in order, as they happen in chronological order. Then there are the two side additions to Milwaukee, with Sullivan's K-9 Search and Rescue series which you want to read in order and finally this one. All of these are super exciting with a strong Christian element in them, so if that sounds good to you, dive in and prepare to be blown away!

A protector needing protection!

Di is one of Grayson's Guardians, but after finding herself the target of gunfire three times in a matter of hours, she realises this is personal and it would be wise to accept Jarek's help.....grudgingly. I love the feisty, verbal sparring between Di and Jarek, it's a classic case of that fine line between love and hate! They have a contentious history that both attribute to the other, but in reality is caused by the walls both have and their abrupt natures. The enforced proximity means they both end up lowering their defenses and realising that first impressions may have been hasty.
It is great seeing their walls fall and the love grow as they race from bullets whilst investigating why they are being targeted. This is a great twist to the series and I really enjoyed it.

This was available on Audible through my membership. I read the other two in this series and was excited about this book. Love the action. For someone who is into "typical romantic Suspense" this clean romance series is great there is enough action that makes up for the spicy parts missing its constant. Characters are real people with real world problems. It's still essential a bit of insta love but it's not complicated by spice. Definitely recommend.

What a fast-paced, non-stop action read involving a protector who needs protection this time. Dina (Di) faced multiple gunshot attempts in matters of hour and Jarken, whom she served in the Army with and is a police officer, steps in to protect her. Deadly Secrets has secrets from Dina's past, close proximity, danger, twists and turns, and suspense as Di and Jarken work together to figure out who's targeting her. Scott weaves faith into this story, including forgiveness of sins. Great read.

There are a lot of characters and a lot going on in this book. Police, corrupt police, private security, drug dealers, and more. Past crimes, present crimes. I do like the characters and the way the Christian message is woven into the story, along with the happy ending. But it is a very busy book. Almost too busy for me.

Truth and Forgiveness

Enjoyed this story thoroughly. The true pain that only Jesus can erase was refreshingly portrayed. Action and adventure await Jarek and Di as they chase criminals and suck for cover on nearly every page.

I couldn't put the book down. I loved the characters. I couldn't believe who was the dirty cop was.I was so heartwarming to finally see what faith and especially love can do to a person. Keep up the good work.
