I really enjoyed this read. Let’s start with the cover, it’s gorgeous. The historical references kept me smiling, and the writing kept my eyes glued to the pages.

Daniel Time follows a young man named Daniel who is born with incredible powers. As he grows and learns more about who he is and why he’s special, a war is reaching a boiling point between the Higher-Tier Watchers and the Lower-Tier Watchers. Will Daniel grow into the person he’s meant to be before it’s too late?

This is a great young adult fantasy novel with some outstanding writing. I loved the world-building, and I can tell the author has a lot more to say about this universe. The whole vibe of Idlewild is dope, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes next.

If you’re a fan of The Rhythm of Time series by Questlove with S.A. Cosby, then I think you’ll love this one.

Okay, I’ll go first.

I was referred by the author through IG, bought my copy on Amazon, and here is my review.

It’s a young adult coming of age fantasy novel with enjoyable and well timed historical references to cultural icons and modern music. The story moves quickly in both timeline and the read itself. A large part of my 5-star review other than starting off the first review with a 5-star is the conciseness of the writing. There is not a lot of pointless or page filling dialogue.

The quick: main character, Daniel Time, is caught between two worlds and as a “gifted” child he must navigate the intersection of those two-worlds. Alongside “friends” and “family” in one world and upper and lower watchers in the other the story is well told as to how he comes out or not on the other side.

Enjoyed the read.
